Create directory on SAP application server with blanks

Hi,
is it possible and if so how to create within ABAP a directory on a Linux based SAP application server that contains blanks.
We've tested with SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE but didn't succeeded.
A working code snippet would be great.

I use BusinessObjects Edge Series 3.0 (testing software). In Designer I am trying to create a new universe and first to create new connection (with wizard) to SAP (BW cube). Hello,
Does anyone knows a way to create a directory in the application server? Something similar to
CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES but for managing files in the application server?

How Create Virtual Directory On Oracle Application Server 10g on RHEL 5

i have deployed my application on OAS 10g on RHEL 5 ,,now since my application is calling some pro*c programs and then they generate some text based reports on fixed folder named
/treas/temp
now i simply have to open these text based reports on web browser
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/forms/pcreport/'||v_filename);
but for that i need to create virtual directory name : " /pcreport " without code
kindlly help as its working on my developer suit 10g i created a virtual directory in my application server by making following entry in "orion-web.xml" file

Thanks for ur reply.
I've imported the JSP as a mime object into the BSP.
Now I've created the page to show that Mime Object as an image.
But nothing is coming as an output.
But then,there is an option for that mime object. i.e when I right click on the mime object there is an option called " convert to BSP".
I selected that option and it created a view in my BSP .( My BSP is a page with flow logic application )
Now how should i make this view to be an output ?
I guess this shud be posted in the BSP Forum ...but still taking a chance here :)-

Seem that is a problem in starting DB instance phase, specificly for DBMS instance (you need to check detailed DB starting log in run directory).

Creating a folder in application server in background.

Hi experts,
Is it possible to Creating a folder in application server in background.?
My requirement is like this , every time a PO is created it has to be saved locally.
When atlast i manged to do this, i get stuck again by this CR ,
The PO has to be saved in a folder with the same name as PO number,
I do not know if it is possible.
So as always I am looking for inputs/suggestions or knowledge if you had come across scenario like this one.

Hi,
You could create a system command in SM69 to create a directory and then use the function module SXPG_CALL_SYSTEM to invoke the command and pass in the directory name as a parameter at run time.

FIle Creation in the Application Server With Unicode-8 and Byte-Order Mark

Hi Guys,
I've requirement of creating a file in the Application server with the Data.
The Data Format Should be in UTF-8 and Byte-Order Mark.
I need to supply this data from SAP to PRMS.
I'm able to create a file with Unicode, but any of the guys have worked on Umicode with Byte-Order Mark, please let me know.

If you haven't found an aswer yet, you can check in transaction SE24 CL_ABAP_FILE_UTILITIES method CREATE_UTF8_FILE_WITH_BOM. You can check the code of the method (it's very short) so you can understand how it works. It's also a static method so you can call it directly in your program.
Ex:
CALL METHOD cl_abap_file_utilities=>create_utf8_file_with_bom(your_file_name).

Create Excel file in application server but the field value is incorrect

i am facing a problem when create excel file in application server using OPEN DATASET command.
the internal table have 4 field and one of those field contains 19 digit number --> ICCID.
the code running well, successfully create EXCELfile in application server but the problem is SAP only copy exactly first 15 digit numeric only and the rest became zero 0
Example :
the field value in internal table is 8962118800000447654 but when i opened in the excel file the value became 8962118800000440000.
and if i add alphabet like a8962118800000447654 then it is correct.
is there is anything wrong with my code?

Reading of File from legacy system into SAP Application Server using SAP XI

Hi All,
I have a file in <b>Legacy System with Exchange rates information data</b> i have to read that file using SAP XI process and put that file in SAP Application Server in SAP Specific Format and latter i have to use program RFTBFF00 to upload the file in the Application Server into SAP Tables.
Can anybody tell me how can i do this with some example of same scenario.
It would be better if anybody provides code example as i am new to SAP XI.

Unable to create a file in Application Server using OPEN DATASET stattement.

I am unable to create a file in Application Server using the following statement.
OPEN DATASET filename FOR OUTPUT
IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT
MESSAGE msg.
The message I'm getting is "Permission Denied". I have checked authorisation using SU53 which says "The last authorization check was successful". Please help.

Download PDF File from Archiv to SAP Application Server

Hi,
I need to download the PDF file from an NAST-Dataset (how is stored from the message via SAP ArchivLink) to the SAP Application Server.
1) At first i read the Archiv-Link data via function module WFMC_GET_ARCHIVE_OBJECT_TYPE
2) Then i get the Connection-Infos via function module ARCHIV_GET_CONNECTIONS_INT
3) Now i read the file from archiv as table via function module ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_BYTES
4) Save to the SAP Appl.Server via:
   - OPEN DATASET ld_dpfad FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE
   - LOOP and TRANSFER lf_archivobject TO ld_dpfad.
   - CLOSE DATASET ld_dpfad.
In the dialog of NAST-Dataset (Messages) i can open the PDF-File without any errors (display originals). But after the filetransfer to the SAP Appl.Server i get the following errors during the file opening dialog from Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- the embedded font u201CArialu201D cant to be extract
- not enough data for the picture
The reader can display the PDF-File but only without the picture (Logo) and with alternative font.
The same transfer from archiv and sending as an attachement to the BOR-Object via function module SO_DOCUMENT_INSERT_API1 works very fine and without any errors.
Can any one please help me to solve this Issue?

In the past i didnu2019t need the BINARCHIVOBJECT-Parameter and so i overlook this option.
Now, the File looks a little bit different, but only in the STREAM-section.
During the Fileopen-Dialog i get only one message now - "not enough data for image" and the image will not displayed. The rest seems to be correct.
The relevant coding is now:

Limit on the size of the flat file in SAP Application Server

Hi Gurus,
My requirement is to upload the account payable data to the SAP Application Server.
The requirement say's like if the size of the file exceeds the limit(is there any limit on file size in SAP?) of SAP then I should upload another file with the remaining records.
Is there any limit on the file size uploaded into SAP Application Server?If there is limit on file size then what is the value of the limit?
I guess the file size will depend on the basis configuration and the free size of the Application Server Folder.
How to check free space in the Application Server folder and proceed further for placing the file in that folder?

The limitation (if any) will be on the OS level. Nothing to do with SAP as such. Asking your basis team to provide you with an area with plenty of room will be the easiest option. How big are your files - most OSs can handle files of many GB. Sounds to me like the "requirement" has been written by someone without technical knowledge...

It is not possible to download data in Excel file on application server. You can better download the same in tab separated text file and then convert that text file to XLS.

OPEN DATASET create .txt file in application server

I'm trying to create a .txt into application server. Code as follows:-
OPEN DATASET gv_filestatus FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.

LOOP AT gt_pdfstatus INTO gw_pdfstatus.

But I got the error "GW_PDFSTATUS" cannot be a table, a reference, a string, or contain any of these objects. GW_PDFSTATUS is a work area with 5 fields of different type. I know that I can transfer table type of TLINE but I'm not sure how to convert my internal table gt_pdfstatus as TLINE.

When transfering data to a file, you should convert the data to type char and then transfer it to the file.
So, you would need to declare a structure with 5 fields of type c with the corresponding length of the original structure.
Then move the corresponding fields of work are gw_pdfstatus to the character type structure. And then transfer the new structure to the file (gv_filestatus in your case).
"for example if all the fields in the gw_pdfstatus are of lenght 10, then declare a structure as follows
data : begin of file_wa,
f1(10) type c,
f2(10) type c,
f3(10) type c,
f4(10) type c,
f5(10) type c,
end of file_wa.
OPEN DATASET gv_filestatus FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
