Create dummy rows.

Oracle 9i.
How can i create dummy rows?
My table consist of job, job_type and many numeric fields.
The max of Job_type is 9 for 1 job.
Not all job(s) have all job_types.
If a job_type is missing, I have to create a dummy record with all numeric fields = 0.
Thanks,
Ivan.

How about this:
CREATE TABLE jobs
Job number,
type varchar2(1),
fld1 number,
fld2 number,
fld3 number
INSERT INTO jobs VALUES (1, 'a', 12, 13, 32);
INSERT INTO jobs VALUES (1, 'b', 11, 22, 22);
INSERT INTO jobs VALUES (1, 'c', 22, 33, 33);
INSERT INTO jobs VALUES (1, 'd', 12, 12, 12);
INSERT INTO jobs VALUES (2, 'a', 12, 23, 33);
INSERT INTO jobs VALUES (2, 'c', 12, 34, 34);

  • Creating default Row which one is better option

    hi,
    for creating dummy row in ViewObject which one is better and appropriate option..
    1) CreateInsert as default activity
    2) Creating row in Create method of ViewObjectImpl
    Regards
    Kiran

    Kiran,
    CreateInsert is an action that is exposed via a data control. If you invoke this action, it will call the Create method of your View Object, so your question really doesn't make sense. If you need to have a row created and inserted into the row set of a VO, then using the CreateInsert action in a task flow will work just fine.

  • How to add a dummy row in the result set of a SELECT statement.

    Hello Everyone -
    I have requirment to add a dummy row in the result set of a SELECT statement.
    For e.g. lets say there is a table Payment having following colums:
    Payment_id number
    status varchar2(10)
    amount number
    payment_date date
    so here is the data :-
    Payment_id Status Amount payment_date
    1 Applied 100 12/07/2008
    2 Reversed 200 01/ 06/2009
    3 Applied 300 01/ 07/2009
    Here is my SQL
    Select * form payment where payment_date >= 01/01/2009
    Output will be
    2 Reversed 200 01/ 06/2009
    3 Applied 300 01/ 07/2009
    My desired output is below
    2 Reversed 200 01/ 06/2009
    3 Applied 300 01/ 07/2009
    2 Reversed -200 01/ 06/2009 ------(Dummy Row)
    Thrid row here is the dummy row which I want to add when status is "Reversed"
    I would be very thankful for any kind of help in this regard ...
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

    Cartesion joining against a dummy table is a useful method of creating a dummy row:
    with my_tab as (select 1 cust_id, 1 Payment_id, 'Applied' Status, 100 Amount, to_date('12/07/2008', 'mm/dd/yyyy') payment_date from dual union all

    NB. You may have to mess around with the ordering if that's not come back in the order you wanted. You didn't mention what the rules were for any expected ordering though, so I've made up my own *{;-)
    Also, I added an identifier (cust_id) to differentiate between different sets of payments, since that's usually the case. Remove that if it's not applicable for your case.

  • Creating Dummy Records

    Hi, wondering if someone can give me some advise..I'm needing to create dummy records off some data, I need 10 total rows for each account number ( Field 2 ).
    I've tried a few different ways such as using a ROW_NUMBER() over (partition by FIELD 2) then doing an outer join to
    (select rownum r,field 1, field 2 from all_objects

  • How to create dummy variable in Webi report in BO 4.0 with Bex query.

    Dear All,
    We have a requirement where we need to overlap multiple tables and based on user selection any one of the table should display in report.
    We are on BO 4.0 and source is BW Bex report, we dont have any Universe.
    To achieve this we plan to have dummy variable with some fix value and use it as report filter & based on selected value in filter the related table should be display.
    We have not found any way to have dummy variable directly in Webi.
    Is their any way we can create dummy variable directly in Webi?
    Thanks v much in advance,
    Regards,

    lets say u want to display following picture:
    sept$-----august$
    City
    -chicago123$--
    44$
    so in Query designer go to Default values section.
    Bring in Calendar month
    right click calendar month
    and hit Restrict
    now select variable
    use standard sap variable Current Month.
    hit okey
    now select Variable and hit Red button
    Result u restricted current month.
    in columns bring in keyfigure $
    right click and hit edit
    bring in time field calendar month
    right click and hit restrict
    bring in Current month
    right click and select - SET OFFSET FOR VARIABLE
    select -1
    hit okey
    repeat the above process
    and this time select offset = -2
    this way u restricted current month
    but displayed last 2 months for keyfigure values.

  • How to create multiple rows in a child table from the multi select Lov

    Hi
    We have Departments and EmployDept and Persons tables and each employee can associate multiple departments and vice versa.While creating a Department page there should be a Multi Select LOV(values from Persons table) with search option for the Persons.From the search panel we can select multiple persons for that department.Suppose we have selected 5 persons and click on submit, then it should create 5 rows in the EmployDept table for 5 persons with that department id.
    Any inputs on how to implement this scenario please..

    Maybe you can get some ideas from here -

  • Creating multi rows in Weekly view for same Att type

    Hi All,
    This is how we can reproduce the problem
    1.Enter working hours against same att type for different dates in the same row in Weekly view of record working time.
    2.Go to daily view and come back to weekly view.
    3.It creates different rows for the att type for the above dates entered instead of single row
    Please let me know the solution

    Hi, I am new to ADF
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6, I have two tables customer and contacts, customerId is a foriegnKey in contacts. when customer is deleted all the contacts need to be deleted.
    I have created an association (1 to * customer to contacts) between customerEO & contactsEO (checked Composite association, implement cascade delete option), and a view link (1 to * customerVO to contactsVO).
    I am testing the viewlink through AM, not using JSF

  • Formula that creates additional rows

    Greetings everyone. I am fairly new to Apple numbers. I have a spreadsheet that calculates an investment return for clients year by year based on their age. I need the spreadsheet to go out to the clients age 100. There is an input page that I put in the clients age as well as additional information that it uses to calculate the investment return. It then takes the clients age and starts off the first column (client age) with that value. Each row has about 5 columns with different information being displayed. I am looking for a way for numbers to take the clients age column and automatically continue to create additional rows until it gets to the clients age 100. I would want each additional row to have the same formatting, formulas, and color scheme as the row before it. Is their a formula that would do this or do I need to create some sort of script?
    Thank you,
    Matt S.

    You can put the last row (the totals) in a footer and it will always be there or it can be a regular row that is TRUE so it is not hidden.
    If you make the table 125 years in length and automatically hide the unnecessary rows as I have outlined, you won't have to add rows, subtract rows, or tailor it in any other way for each client. It will tailor itself to the correct length based on the age you specify on the client's input page. And next year, when they are a year older, you can change their age in the client input page and the table will change accordingly.
    Depending on how you handle the formulas within the spreadsheet, you can sum things up the normal way with the SUM function or you can sum them up with SUMIF where the "if" is "if the row is TRUE". In other words, if every row that is FALSE has zeros, you can use SUM; if the rows that are FALSE have nonsensical numbers, you could use SUMIF. Formulas for things like rate of return might take some finessing but they too can be done. Any charts you might have can be made to not show hidden data (it's a checkbox), so they too are not a problem.
    I guess I'm from the school of "if it can be done within Numbers, then do it within Numbers" versus throwing scripts into the mix. It will be more versatile and portable if it does not require a script because a script is a separate entity, not part of the spreadsheet. Also, if you make changes to the spreadsheet, you may have to make corresponding changes to the script. That's just my opinion. It's your call. I'm sure Yvan can set you up with a terrific script.

  • Problem in Creating new row & inserting data using CreateInsert and Commit

    Hello All,
    I have created a page there are few input text and i want to insert the data into a database table. I have created an Application Module I am using CreateInsert and Commit operation but there is one problem.
    At first it created a row in database after that it is not creating the new row instead it is updating the same row with the new values.
    In bindings of my jspx page I have created two binding for action (1) CreateInsert for the VO of that Application Module (2) Commit operation of that Application Module.
    Here is the code snippet of my application:
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("CreateInsert");
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    *if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {*
    return null;
    OperationBinding operationBinding1 = bindings.getOperationBinding("Commit");
    Object result1 = operationBinding1.execute();
    *if (!operationBinding1.getErrors().isEmpty()) {*
    return null;
    I have tried using Execute+Commit and Insert+Commit case also in every case it is updating the same row and not inserting a new row.
    Is there anything I am missing?
    Please Help.

    hi user,

  • Problem in creating new row

    Hi,
    I am facing a strange problem. i have created many new rows and inserted the data, but now i am facing a strange problem.
    This is my requirement.
    I have table with table action button as create.
    when i click create it is not at all creating new row for the view object but instead it will take the row at the top of the table and replace that line with new data.
    Below is the code :
    In CO
    In PR
    if (!pageContext.isBackNavigationFired(false))
    TransactionUnitHelper.startTransactionUnit(pageContext, "RVSchematicAttributeCreateTxn");
    if (!pageContext.isFormSubmission())
    System.out.println("control entered create block");
    OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    System.out.println("before calling ");
    am.invokeMethod("createRVSchematicAttribute",null);
    System.out.println("after calling ");
    else
    if (!TransactionUnitHelper.isTransactionUnitInProgress(pageContext, "RVSchematicAttributeCreateTxn", true))
    OADialogPage dialogPage = new OADialogPage(NAVIGATION_ERROR);
    pageContext.redirectToDialogPage(dialogPage);
    IN PFR
    OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    if(pageContext.getParameter("Apply")!=null)
    System.out.println("apply button is clicked");
    OAViewObject vo = (OAViewObject)am.findViewObject("xxczVAGCSSchematicAttributeVO1");
    String schematicId = (String)vo.getCurrentRow().getAttribute("SchematicId");
    String msg= "SchematicId "+schematicId+"has been added";
    am.invokeMethod("apply");
    System.out.println("returned back to create CO");
    OAException confirmMessage = new OAException(msg,OAException.CONFIRMATION);
    pageContext.putDialogMessage(confirmMessage);
    pageContext.forwardImmediately("OA.jsp?page=/va/oracle/apps/xxcz/gcs/maintenance/webui/xxczVAGCSRVSchematicAttributeResultsPG",
    null,
    OAWebBeanConstants.KEEP_MENU_CONTEXT,
    null,
    null,
    true, // retain AM
    OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_NO);
    in AM
    public void createRVSchematicAttribute()
    System.out.println("entered createRVSchematicAttribute ");
    xxczVAGCSSchematicAttributeVOImpl vo = this.getxxczVAGCSSchematicAttributeVO1();
    // OAViewObject vo = (OAViewObject)this.getxxczVAGCSSchematicAttributeVO1();
    vo.setMaxFetchSize(0);
    vo.clearCache();
    if (!vo.isPreparedForExecution())
    vo.executeQuery();
    /* Row row = vo.createRow();
    vo.insertRow(row);
    row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    System.out.println("Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED");*/
    int rowCount = vo.getRowCount();
    Row row = vo.createRow();
    vo.insertRowAtRangeIndex(rowCount, row);
    row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    Please help me i don't know where i am going wrong. i have checked so many times but didn't find any bug.

    Hi Zafar,
    Ok i will explain my problem with an example.
    I have employee table with following fields.
    Empname
    Empnumber
    Salary
    Table data
    Empname EmpNumber Salary
    Jack 10 1000
    sam 20 2000
    joe 30 3000
    Above is the table structure for which i need to add another row
    I have two page one results page and another create page
    In Results page i will show the above table structure with table action button "Create" in order to insert new record to table.
    When i click Create button it will navigate to create page
    In Create page i will get the below data
    Empname : Jack
    Empnumber :10
    Salary :1000
    Instead of
    Empname :
    Empnumber :
    Salary :
    suppose now if i change the jack to jack1 , 10 to 11 , or 1000 to 10001 and click submit
    Now the result page will show
    Empname EmpNumber Salary
    Jack1 11 1001
    sam 20 2000
    joe 30 3000
    No fourth row is created it is actually behaving like update functionality and updating the top most row.

  • How to create a Row in a table in SMARTFORMS

    Dear All,
    I'm working with SAP 4.6C.
    I have created a table under the Main Window. After that I have activated the Heade and Footer Check Box in the EVENT TAB of the TABLE. But, Main Area option is not there.
    Because of that it is displaying the TABLE Node like
    TABLE
       Header
       Footer
    Not Like
    TABLE
       Header
       Main Area
       Footer
    Under the Header I want to create a row. After creating  the row only I can create the cells.
    I have defined the line type as %LTYPE1. Even though it is not dispalying the ROW under Header
    It should display
    TABLE
       Header
          Row
             Cell1
                 Text1
             Cell2
                 Text2
       Main Area
       Footer
    But, it is not displaying the ROW after creating the line type .
    How to overcome this problem...

    Hello,
    u have posted this question 2 times
    When you work on a table node in your form, the node is marked with the table icon . In the
    maintenance frame, you get a new type of tab, the Table tab. See below.
    On this tab, you can define the table characteristics, and turn on the Table Painter to help lay out
    the rows and columns. Turn on the Table Painter by choosing-> Table Painter.
    May this link helps u
