Create  multiple spool files

Hi All,
Is it possible to create a mutiple spool files which contains different data from the abap program at once.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks & Regards

If you execute the program in BACKGROUND, it will automatically create spool.
ONLINE EXECUTION: you need to write your statements to be taken to spool within NEW_PAGE PRINT ON & OFF.

  • Question about creating multiple output  files from same query

    I have a query like this:
    select * from emp;
    ename empno deptno
    Scott 10001 10
    Tiger 10002 10
    Hanson 10003 20
    Jason 10004 30
    I need to create multiple output files in xml format for each dept
    example:
    emp_dept_10.xml
    emp_dept_20.xml
    emp_dept_30.xml
    each file will have the information for employees in different departmemts.
    The reason I need to do this is to avoid executing the same query 200 times for generating the same output for different departments. Please let me know if it is practically possible to do this.
    Any input is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot!!

    You can write a shell script to generate the multiple spools files for the same output. Below script may helps you.
    #====================
    #!/bin/bash
    n=0
    while [ $n -le 20 ]
    do
    n=`expr $n + 1`
    sqlplus -s system/manager <<EOF
    spool emp_dept_$n.xml
    select count(1) from tab;
    spool off
    EOF
    done

  • Export to PDF - Can a single report (rpt file) create multiple PDF files using the export command?

    Post Author: markeyjd2
    CA Forum: Exporting
    Greetings forum members,
    My question is, in its entirety: Can a single report (rpt file) create multiple PDF files using the export command, ideally one PDF file per DB record?
    In my case; I have a Crystal Report that reads data from a DB table containing ~ 500 records.  When I export the report to a PDF file, I get one PDF file, with ~ 500 pages.
    What I would like to do is export the report to ~ 500 individual PDF files; One file per DB record.  The file names would be based on the table's primary key.
    Is this possible?

    Hi,
    you need some lines of code, but its easy. Dependend on how to start the generation of your 500 PDFs, you can write an ASP page and start it via Web Browser, or a Windows Script and start it via scheduled job...
    Here's an abstract of the ASP code I use:
    First, you create a recordset (here: "rsc") which gives you the list of ID fields you want to export, then you create CrystalRuntime.Application object, then you loop through the recordset, open your report (here: "oRpt") and set login info. Then set the selectionformula, so that the report displays only the data of the current ID, e.g.:
      oRpt.RecordSelectionFormula = "(" & oRpt.RecordSelectionFormula & ") AND {myTab.myVal}=" & rsc("myVal")
    Then you export the report, move to the next record in recordset, and repeat the loop until recordset.EOF. Then you close recordset and connection.

    emp_dept_20.xml

    We are using DBMS_XMLGEN package to generate XML.
    The reason I need to do this is to avoid executing the same query 200 times for generating the same output for different departments. Please let me know if it is practically possible to do this.
    Any input is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot!!

    one solution i can think of is to use SQLX operator instead of dbms_xmlgen.
    here is a sample example.
    declare
      l_xmltype xmltype;
      l_deptno  emp.deptno%type;
    begin
      for i in (select * from emp order by deptno)
      loop
        select xmlconcat(
                    xmlelement("ename", i.ename)
                   ,xmlelement("sal", i.sal)
                   ,xmlelement("detpno", i.deptno))
          into l_xmltype from dual;
        dbms_output.put_line(l_xmltype.GetClobVal());
      end loop;
    end;
    /Now here you can open the query once, keep writing to the file till the deptno
    is same, when the deptno changes, close the file and open a new file with new
    deptno and start writing.
    Note : in this way you will have to add the xmlprolog manually to each of the file which should not be an issue. after opening the file add the prolog string manually.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to create multiple output files using TrAX?

    I am new in this field. I'm trying to create multiple xml output files using TrAX. I have to parse a xml source file and output it to multiple xml files.     File style = new File(args[1]);
    File out = new File(args[2]);
    TransformerFactory factory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer t = factory.newTransformer(new StreamSource(style));
    t.transform(new StreamSource(source), new StreamResult(out));

    Saxon has specific extensions. In this case it is <xsl:document>. That looks like a standard XSLT element, but it actually isn't. The history behind it is this: There was a proposal to create a new version of XSLT, called XSLT 1.1. One of the new features of this version was to be this xsl:document element. The author of the Saxon product, Michael Kay, is one of the people on the W3C committee directing the evolution of XSLT, so he upgraded his product to implement XSLT 1.1. But then the committee decided to drop XSLT 1.1 as a recommendation. So that left Saxon in the strange position of implementing a non-existent extension to XSLT.
    The other outcome of this process was that XSLT (1.0) does not have a way of producing more than one output file from an input file. And so the short answer to your question is "Trax can't do that." However, XSLT 2.0 will be able to do that, although it is not yet a formal W3C recommendation, and when it does become one it will take a while before there are good implementations of it. (I predict that Saxon will be the first good implementation.)
    One of the problems with XML and XSLT is that what you knew a year ago is probably obsolete now, because of all the evolution going on. So being new in the field is not a disadvantage, unless you get stung by reading obsolete tutorials or magazine articles.

  • Reciever File Adapter to create multiple target files

    Hi All,
    I have done the mapping to create multiple output messages . I would like each of the messages to be stored as a separate file in the target .
    Below is the output message with 2 separate MT_CANCELOUT  messages . However, both end up in one single xml file .
    How do I configure the receiver file adapter to ouput 2 separate xml files  ?
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
    <ns0:Message1>
    <ns1:MT_CANCELOUT xmlns:ns1="urn://gm.com:VBVTEST">
    <LineItem>
      <id>456</id>
      <name>HEY</name>
      </LineItem>
      </ns1:MT_CANCELOUT>
    <ns1:MT_CANCELOUT xmlns:ns1="urn://gm.com:VBVTEST">
    <LineItem>
      <id>567</id>
      <name>RAT</name>
      </LineItem>
      </ns1:MT_CANCELOUT>
      </ns0:Message1>
      </ns0:Messages>

    Hi,
    Sorry to say you that but your post show the opposite, it shows you have only one target message !
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
    <ns0:Message1>______<<<<<<<
    <ns1:MT_CANCELOUT xmlns:ns1="urn://gm.com:VBVTEST">

    <id>456</id>
    <name>HEY</name>
    </LineItem>
    </ns1:MT_CANCELOUT>
    <ns1:MT_CANCELOUT xmlns:ns1="urn://gm.com:VBVTEST">
    <LineItem>
    <id>567</id>
    <name>RAT</name>
    </LineItem>
    </ns1:MT_CANCELOUT>
    </ns0:Message1>______<<<<<<<
    </ns0:Messages>
    If you want two files, you should generate two Messages, and so to do that:
    In MM, in your target (tab before "function"), you should have 1 source MT and in target MT, you should have two lines (even if you use the same target MT), after having changed the ouccurence 1->N.
    do the same in your operation mapping: 1->N with two receiver service interface (even if it's the same)
    because you should have something like:
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
    <ns0:Message1>
    <ns1:MT_CANCELOUT xmlns:ns1="urn://gm.com:VBVTEST">

    </ns1:MT_CANCELOUT>
    </ns0:Message1>  _____<<<<<<<
    <ns0:Message2> _____<<<<<<<
    <ns1:MT_CANCELOUT xmlns:ns1="urn://gm.com:VBVTEST">
    <LineItem>
    <id>567</id>
    <name>RAT</name>
    </LineItem>
    </ns1:MT_CANCELOUT>
    </ns0:Message2>

  • Use splitter to create multiple text file

    Hello I have one view as source and would like to create multiple target text files based on different condition. What I am doing is that I am using SPLITTER which contain one INGRP1 and three OUTGRP( nameley TR1, TR2 and TR3) and one default REMAINING_ROWS ( what is the purpose of the REMAINING_ROWS?). So I mapped view to INGRP1 of the splitter and then added the different SPLITT condition in the condition wizard, for example :
    for TR1
    COMMISSION_TYPE='P' and
    rownum <= 65000
    for TR2
    COMMISSION_TYPE='P' and
    rownum > 65000
    and for TR3
    COMMISSION_TYPE='A'
    After this since I have to create 3 comma delimted text files, I have used 3 expression for each individual splitt condition. In the expression what I am doing is that I am just concating all the fileds and then output of each expression goes to three different text files.
    When I am deploying the mapping, it is coming up several errors such as :
    1): PLS-00201: identifier 'COMMISSION_TYPE' must be declared
    (2): PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    (3): PLS-00201: identifier 'COMMISSION_TYPE' must be declared
    (4): PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    (5): PLS-00201: identifier 'COMMISSION_TYPE' must be declared
    (6): PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    (7): PLS-00201: identifier 'START_INDEX' must be declared
    (8): PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    (9): PLS-00201: identifier 'T_EXPR_ASSET_1_OUTPUT_ASSET$0' must be declared
    (10): PL/SQL: Item ignored
    (11): PLS-00201: identifier 'T_ROWKEY_SPLIT_2' must be declared
    (12): PL/SQL: Item ignored
    (13): PLS-00201: identifier 'T_CPPASSET_0_OUTPUT_ASSET$0' must be declared
    (14): PL/SQL: Item ignored

    (16): PL/SQL: Item ignored
    (17): PLS-00801: internal error [21076]
    (18): PL/SQL: Item ignored
    (19): PLS-00801: internal error [21076]
    (20): PL/SQL: Item ignored
    Why I am getting these errors, why OWB generated code could not identify COMMISSION_TYPE filed?
    Please help me.
    Suhail

    I am really very very sorry, its my fault. I was not mapping COMMISSION_TYPE from view to splitter.

  • Creating multiple XML files from Schema

    We are extracting data from Oracle DB into XML using ODI. We are successful in generating the XML file, using command "create xmlfile <file name> from schema <Schema Name>, but the entire data comes in Single file.

  • How can I create multiple PDF files from multiple InDesign files?

    I have 144 InDesign files that I need to create a PDF file for each. I do not want to open each InDesign file to create the PDF's. Acrobat Batch create won't open the InDesign files. Is there another way?

    Only InDesign can do this. You may want to look at InDesign automation.

  • Creating a spool file with date/time appended to file name

    In Oracle Sql*Plus, I want to spool out a file, with the date-time stamp as part of the file name. Any idea how to do this?
    Here's what I have right now:
    SQL>
    set serveroutput on size 200000;
    rem
    rem $OFSA is a UNIX alias so sql plus is talking to UNIX
    rem
    spool $OFSA/logs/OFSAP/common_coa_id.log;
    prompt 'Enter date in mmddyyyy format, without quotes';
    exec upd_common_coa_id_driver ('&date_mmddyyyy');
    spool off;
    As an example, I'd like to have a file with this name: common_coa_id083002.log
    Thanks.

    In SQL*Plus this is what you can do to get the current date/time as part of the spool file:
    ============================================================================================
    SQL> column tm new_value file_time noprint
    SQL> select to_char(sysdate, 'YYYYMMDD') tm from dual ;
    1 row selected.
    SQL> prompt &file_time
    20020816
    SQL> spool C:\Temp\logfile_id&file_time..log
    . /* put your code here */
    . /* it will go to a file called C:\Temp\logfile_id20020816.log */
    SQL> spool off
    SQL>

  • How to create multiple pdf files from multiple batch processing

    I have several file folders of jpeg images that I need to convert to separate multi-page pdf files. To give a visual explanation:
    Folder 1 (contains 100 jpeg image files) converted to File 1 pdf (100 pages; 1 file)
    Folder 2 (contains 100 jpeg image files) converted to File 2 pdf (100 pages; 1 file)
    and so on.
    I know I can convert each folder's content as a batch process, but I can only figure out how to do so one folder at a time. Is it at all possible to convert multiple folders (containing jpegs) to multiple pdf files? Put differently, does anyone know how to process a batch of folders into multiple (corresponding) pdf files?
    Many thanks.

    There are two approaches to do this:
    - First convert all JPG files to PDF files using a "blank" batch process. Then combine all PDF files in the same folder using another batch process and a folder-level script (to do the actual combining). I have developed this tool in the past and it's available here:
    http://try67.blogspot.com/2010/10/acrobat-batch-combine-all-files-in.html
    - The othe option is to do everything in a single process, but that requires an application outside of Acrobat, which I'm currently developing.
    If you're interested in any of these tools, feel free to contact me personally.

  • Create multiple spool

    Hi expert,
    I would like to send payment advices to vendors via FAX.
    I run the payment program, which triggers a background job and produces 1 spool with payment advices for all the selected vendors.
    The faxes cannot be sent. They are blocked because there are many different fax numbers in the spool.
    How can I create 1 spool per vendor?
    Do you have any experience?
    Thank you for your feedback.
    Kind regards,
    Linda

    Hi Belinda,
    We can control the spool creating parameters programatically .
    Looping at the list of vendors and assign  the parameters of structure  ssfctrlop to control the spool creation.
    wa_ctrl_params is of type ssfctrlop
    like    wa_ctrl_params-no_open = 'X'. and keep open the same spool
    One of the way i think.

  • Create multiple project files or one?

    I am working on a feature length film which has 48 sequences with subclips and rough cuts created in Prelude. Now I want to start bringing this footage into Premiere for editing, but I am wondering is there benefits or drawbacks to creating a Premiere project for each sequence then merging them all together in one master project file after finished working on each sequence?
    I'm trying to determine which way would be the easiest to keep things organized and not so overwhelming. Has anyone done this before?

    I never worked on a long project...but for a short test of cs3 , using dailies as source material, I came up with a process that worked pretty good for me.. and it might help you a little bit...dont know.
    it's kinda complicated.
    this example is one part of a scene...well, 2 scenes really, but I didn't have the dailies for all the material shot... so it's hard to explain... mostly I had all of the first part of the stuff you see here and then only part of the rooftop stuff...
    The rooftop stuff I made b&w with a overlay to pretend it was a cheap video cop camera..and used static to make cuts cause I saw crew, other cameras, etc... and had to cut.
    was basically 3 alexa on process trailer and 4 alexa on roof.
    This is what I did for scenes ( basically for the beginning of working on the overall material and then whittling it down to usable stuff )
    I dont use source monitor at all.. in out points.. I put everything in the primary timeline levels..and just cut out the slates and dumb stuff nobody would ever use...cut / delete .
    Then I start scrubbing through and pick out what I think will tell the story and move it UP from the original levels. That gives me a quick easy way to see what was " used" as opposed to what the original stuff ( bulk ) is.
    I don't rename the files or bins as I do that... I create a 'new' sequence and move all the raised stuff into THAT sequence ...and butt it together ...which is now becoming a rough cut...the new sequence ( not what you see here above which is the first bulk of what I got to work with ).  But I dont do that new sequence on a single vid layer cause I do my own fades and stuff on multiple layers and want that option... so I butt them together on several vid levels ( like 3 or whatever in this case )....
    I want the option of overlaying stuff and doing my own cross dissolves at my own 'pace' if need be....not the auto stuff and then the playing with corrections and extra frames etc ...
    As I scrub through the 1st roughcut I notice " Oh, I just cut from one person talking to another person talking, but the background was moving in one take, and not in the next "... which looks stupid.. so I have to go BACK to the original stuff and find a portion of a camera angle and take ...that gives me a moving background ....
    This starts to get really retarded...cause now you're making cuts you don't really WANT to make, but HAVE to make....
    Since I was using dailies and you're using prelude I guess there's a big difference. But I might use a part of one take and part of another take of the same scene and the same "coverage" if with multiple cameras ... so I don't think I would like splitting stuff up onto takes that are good or bad ...unless obviously the whole thing is bad from the get go... like someone fell down or their wig flew off their head or something...

  • Create multiple pdf files from html pages

    I have 15 html pages that I need to convert (possibly several times a day) into pdf files, and I need to get the process as automated as possible. I own an Acrobat Pro 8 license.
    1) is there a command line I can launch to do this automatically?
    2) failing that, is there a way of launching several conversions at a time? There seems to be lot of talk about creating one pdf from several files, but what I want is to convert several html file into several pdf files
    thanks

    Managed it at last, was a bit of a hassle -
    (there was an erroneous error message saying I hadn't selected any files, when I had)
    Note For future readers: to do just a batch conversion, you have to ignore the "commands" section, which isn't intuitive, as it is bang in the middle and looks like the main feature...
