Create mutiple records w/dynamic checkboxes?

Greetings
This is no doubt an easy one, but can't seem to get multiple
checkboxes displayed dynamically to create corresponding multiple
records?
The form page has:
<form action="add_action.cfm" method="post">
<cfoutput query="get_all">
<tr bgcolor="###iif(currentrow MOD
2,DE('ffffff'),DE('d9ecff'))#">
<td class="tddynamic">#num#</td>
<td class="tddynamic">#descriptions#</td>
<td class="tddynamic"><INPUT Type="Checkbox"
Name="ID"
Value="#thequery.ID#"</td>
Action Page?
Access, CF8
Thanks for your time in teaching an old dog new
tricks...

Try this:
<cfoutput query="GetBlogs">
<tr valign="top">
<td>
<input name="BlogID" id="BlogID" type="checkbox"
value="#BlogID#">  #BlogName#
</td>
</tr>
</cfoutput>
<cftransaction>
<cfloop index="i" list="#FORM.BlogID#">
<cfquery name="Subscription" datasource="#blog#">
INSERT INTO _subscriptions
(DateSubscribed, BlogID, SubscriptionStatus, Subscriber,
SubscriberEmail)
VALUES
(getdate(), #i#, 'Active', '#cookie.username#',
'#cookie.useremail#')
</cfquery>
</cfloop>
</cftransaction>

  • How to create a record structure dynamically

    Hi,
    I would like to create a record structure dynamically in the body of my pl/sql procedure.
    I don't want to create the structure in the declaration because my record structure depends on some parameters that the procedure will receive.
    Thank you

    > I would like to create a record structure dynamically in the body of my pl/sql procedure
    Terrible idea. Why? Because if the structure is dynamic then you need to write pretty complex code to handle this structure that could be anything. Complex code means buggy code. Inconsistent code. Weird run-time errors. Etc.
    Yes, you can create dynamic "structures" - for example, you can create a user defined type that at execution time can decide what properties it has. Similar to a an object in an o-o language that has a RTTI (Run Time Type Information) interface.
    But this is complex. And what did I say about complex code above? Not the best of ideas most of the time.
    There is however a very easy way to deal with dynamic data via a "dynamic" structure that is in fact a statically defined structure. Arrays aka collections aka associative arrays.
    E.g.
    create or replace type TStrings as table of varchar2(4000);
    Using this I can create a SQL statement (cursor) on any table, with any predicates, and pass the results (dynamic list of columns) to a procedure for processing:
    select TStrings(object_id,object_type,object_name) as DYNAMIC_LIST from user_objects order by object_type, object_name
    Using this I can create a procedure that accepts a dynamic list of values and process these:
    create or replace procedure DynamicProcess( list TStrings ) as ...
    So when thinking "dynamic structures" - think it through carefully. There is a difference between an UNKNOWN structure and a DYNAMIC structure.
    The former needs a RTTI interface. You have no idea what the structure contains. You need an interface to call in order for it to describe the structure for you. This is complex stuff.
    The latter means that you know the structure as it is pre-defined (statically defined). At run-time, it can contain any number of elements - thus making the structure dynamic. This is easy stuff.
    I would rather go for the easy stuff than the complex stuff any time of the day - even when on my 3rd cup of coffee...

  • Single Dynamic Checkbox record

    Hi,
    I am displaying 1 record with dynamic checkbox with the below
    statement
    select empno, ename, job,wwv_flow_item.checkbox(1, rownum) pr from emp where rownum = 1
    When i hit the Save button i am using onMouseDown event and calling
    the javascript function to make sure the checkbox is checked, and then i am submitting the Page.
    For SAVE button in the button attributes i have this code: onMouseDown="Members_Selected();".
    The below code is used in HTML HEADER:
    <script language="JavaScript">
    function Members_Selected(){
    var bflag;
    bflag = false;
    alert('total count of check boxes:'+document.forms[0].f01.length);
    for (var i=0; i<document.forms[0].f01.length; i++)
    if (document.forms[0].f01.checked == true )
    bflag = true;
    if (!bflag)
    alert("Please select Atleast 1 Member.");
    return false;
    if (confirm("Are you sure you want to assign the selected members !!"))
    doSubmit('SAVE');
    else
    return false;
    return true;
    }</script>
    Below is the problem i see When i HIT the SAVE BUTTON, by Selecting* the checkbox :*_
    I see the java script alert : total count is shown as "undefined"
    and another javascript alert : 'Please select Atleast 1 Member',
    and the page is not submitted.
    Have anyone encountered this problem, i have tested in apex workspace too, i see the same problem.
    Any help or suggestion is appreciated

  • Dynamically creating a Record Group based on Previously entered Record Grou

    Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.3.0 (Production)
    Hi,
    I know how to dynamically create a record group based on a query and putting the code in When new form instance.
    My query is. I have a form which has multiple Record Groups and the user wants to dynamically create subsequent groups based on previous groups.
    For example
    I have a record group with selects a Location,
    when the user selects the Location from a list of values
    the 2nd record group called 'Cost Centres' will have to filter out only those with the locations selected above.
    How can I populate the 2nd record group at run-time when I do not know what site the user will select?
    If I simply populate in when new form instance as in location and just select everything, the list of values populates.
    CC field is a LIST ITEM and the list style is a POP LIST, it is not required.
    I have put the code in the Location field in the when-list-changed trigger.
    I am getting this error:
    frm-41337: cannot populate the list from the record group
    here is the code:
    DECLARE
    v_recsql Varchar2(1000); -- The SQL for creating the Record Group.
    v_recgrp RecordGroup; -- Record Group
    v_status Number; -- Return Value of Populate_Group function.
    c_where VARCHAR2(1000);
    BEGIN
         IF :location = '1' THEN
              c_where := ' substr(cost_centre,1,2) in (''01'',''02'')';
         ELSIF :location  = '2' THEN
              c_where := ' substr(cost_centre,1,2) in (''02'',''03'')';
         ELSIF :location   = '3' THEN
              c_where := ' substr(cost_centre,1,2) in (''01'',''11'',''07'')';
                   ELSE
              c_where :=  ' 1=1'; --EVERYTHING
         END IF;
    v_recsql := 'SELECT cost_centre, description  FROM   cost_centres  where '||c_where;
    -- Create the Record Group
    v_recgrp := CREATE_GROUP_FROM_QUERY('v_recgrp', v_recsql);
    IF NOT ID_NULL(v_recgrp)
    THEN -- No Error, record group has been successfully created.
    -- Populate Record Group
    v_status := POPULATE_GROUP('v_recgrp');
    IF v_status = 0
    THEN -- No Error. Record Group has been Populated.
    POPULATE_LIST('block.CC', 'v_recgrp');
    END IF; -- IF v_status = 0
    -- Delete the Record Group as it is no longer needed.
    DELETE_GROUP('v_recgrp');
    END IF; -- IF NOT ID_NULL(v_recgrp)
    END;thanks for your assistance.

    Hi,
    Once record status gets change for block you can not populate/repopulate the list item. Keep those list items as non-database item with different names and create different items as database orignal items. Than assign the values in WHEN-LIST-CHANGE trigger to the actual database items.

  • Dynamic action to create ESI record

    Friends
    I am using the following code to create ESI record in infotype 588 in Dynamic actions and working for a single payroll area.

    My requirement is PERSK is same for various payroll areas, hence don't want to create separate codes.
    I am trying to insert multiple payroll areas in line no. 864 with the following code
    0001       04 864 P0001-ABKRS = 'P1' OR P0001-ABKRS = 'P3' OR P0001-ABKRS = 'P5'/X
    But the record is not getting created.
    Pl. help to use multiple payroll area option.
    regards
    Raghuram R

    If you are useing for multiple area please use the below
    6
    1
    P
    P0001-ABKRS='XX' /X
    6
    2
    P
    P0001-ABKRS= 'XX' /X
    you shoduld use all the payroll areas with /X which say if payroll X or Y but not only or after X.

  • Creating Record Group dynamically.

    Hi,
    I have multi line block. My req is i have create record group dynamically based on some fields in line level. This my code in To Location - Key next item,
    DECLARE
    group_id          RecordGroup;
    v_lms_lov lov;
    BEGIN
    group_id := Create_Group_From_Query ('RG_LMSID',
    'SELECT lms_id
    FROM sify_lms_header
    WHERE from_location = :lines.from_location
    AND to_location = :lines.to_location;'
    v_lms_lov := find_lov('LOV_LMSID');
    set_lov_property(v_lms_lov,group_name,'RG_LMSID');
    Set_Item_Property('LINES.LMS_ID',LOV_NAME,'LOV_LMSID');
    END;
    It says, no records in lov. Anything i missed.
    Or any other way to achieve this.
    Pl help.
    Thanks
    Kavitha

    Kavitha,
    Why you need Dynamic record group for this?, you can give the control names in the record group query. Then the record group's query will be
    SELECT LMS_ID FROM SIFY_LMS_HEADER WHERE FROM_LOCATION = :LINES.FROM_LOCATION AND TO_LOCATION = :LINES.TO_LOCATIONAnd if you still want to use the dynamic record group creation, then try
    DECLARE
         RG_Group_ID RECORDGROUP;
    BEGIN
         RG_Group_ID := FIND_GROUP('RG_LMSID');
      IF NOT Id_Null(RG_Group_ID) THEN
              DELETE_GROUP(RG_Group_ID);
      END IF;
         RG_Group_ID := CREATE_GROUP_FROM_QUERY('RG_LMSID', 'SELECT LMS_ID FROM SIFY_LMS_HEADER WHERE FROM_LOCATION = ''' || :LINES.FROM_LOCATION || ''' AND TO_LOCATION = ''' || :LINES.TO_LOCATION || '''');
         SET_LOV_PROPERTY('LOV_LMSID',     GROUP_NAME, 'RG_LMSID');
         SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LINES.LMS_ID', LOV_NAME,   'LOV_LMSID');
    END;Regards,

  • Dynamic Action-Delimiting a record and creating new record

    Hi ,
    My requirement is in dynamic Action I need to delimit all records in a Subtype of an Infotype and create New record for these records with BEGDA as ENDDA + 1 of the delimited records.
    Iam able to delimit all records in the Subtype but , Iam not able to create new records.
    My code for delimiting is as given below, in T588Z,
    9901     2          06     801     P     P9901-SUBTY='2'
    9901     2          06     802     P     PSYST-IOPER='MOD'

    9901     3          06     810     W     P9901-ENDDA=RP50D-ZZDATE3
    The above code is working fine.
    My code for creating new record is as given below, even though the control is oing to the subroutine, INS statement is not working, and hence new record is not getting created.

    Kindly help me on this.

    Hi shahana,
    1. I have not worked on this dynamic action.
    2. But instead of doing in 2 steps,
       it is usually done in 1 step only, manually.
    3. If we CREATE record from some date,
       then the OLD will AUTOMATICALLY get Delimited.
    (We don't have to do anything specially for delimiting
      the old record)
    regards,
    amit m.

  • Create dynamic checkBox

    Is it possible to create dynamic checkBox inside the loop? I am planning to generate a set of checkBox and then adding them into panels. Is it possible to do it? I have to generate checkBox dynamically.
    Thx.

    I tried as below. Is it right?
    private void createCheckBoxes(List javaFiles) {
            int count = javaFiles.size();
            System.out.println("The number of .tna files are"+count);
            for(int i=0; i<=count-1; i++){
                 System.out.println("Creating checkBoxes");
                 //Create checkbox
                  JCheckBox  box = new JCheckBox("region"+i);
                  box.setName("region"+i);
                dynamicPanel.add(box);
                dynamicPanel.validate();
        }I have few doubts.
    Initially I tried as below:
    JCheckBox  box = new JCheckBox();
    box.setName("region"+i);It created the check boxes dynamically but the name was not printed. Why is that so?
    Now my first set of code works. But how do I refer to these dynamic components?
    Thx.

  • How to create the selection screen dynamically

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to create the selection screen Dynamically. All the fields that should appear on the selection screen will be available in a custom table. So, based on the entries available in the Z tables, the selection screen should be built. Eg. If there are 10 records available in the Z table, the selection screen should consist of 10 fields. If there are 100 entries, the Selection screen should contain 100 fields. and the logic to build this selection screen should be carried out dynamically in the program.
    Could anyone of you please share the valuable inputs on this. If anyone has the sample code to do this, please share.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to delete records from dynamic internal table.

    Hi Experts,
    Need urgent help!!!
    Issue is with Dynamic internal tables.
    Below is code written by me :
    FORM select_query USING Lw_tabnam
                      TYPE  t682i-kotabnr.
      DATA :  lw_line  TYPE REF TO data,
              lw_line1 TYPE REF TO data.
        CREATE DATA Lw_line    TYPE (lw_TABNAM).
        ASSIGN      Lw_line->* TO   <WA_tbl>.
        CREATE DATA LW_LINE    TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF (Lw_tabnam)
                               WITH NON-UNIQUE DEFAULT KEY.
        ASSIGN      Lw_line->* TO <TBL>.
        SELECT * FROM  (Lw_tabnam)
                 INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE <TBL>
                 WHERE (t_keys).
    Endform.
    code is working fine.
    here even the table name and where condition are dynamic,everything is fine upto this point.
    Now i have to delete some record from <TBL> based on some conditons.
         for ex : ( here lc_fieldname is KUNNR)
          loop at t_kunnr.
              lw_tabix = sy-tabix.
            Read table <tbl>
                    with key (lc_fieldname) = t_kunnr-kunnr ASSIGNING <wa_tbl>.
            If sy-subrc = 0.
            *Delete
            delete <tbl> from <wa_tbl>
    delete <tbl> index  lw_tabix.
            Endif.
         Endloop.
    The above delete statement doesn't work ,even we can't use index as it gives a syntax error " something related to "index is not allowed in standard table or hash table.
    Can you help me ab't how to delete records in Dynamic internal table?
    Other option that i am thinking of is to create a static table of type dynamic table.
    means, data itab type standard table of <tbl> .I know the syntax is wrong ,however is there any way to do this?
    Thanks in advance ,
    If you have any suggestion ab't this then do let me know.
    bye,
    Gaurav.

    Hi
    I wrote this code and it works fine:

           LW_LINE  TYPE REF TO DATA.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <TABLE> TYPE TABLE,
                   <WA>    TYPE ANY.
    CREATE DATA LW_LINES TYPE TABLE OF (LW_TABNAM)
    WITH NON-UNIQUE DEFAULT KEY.
    ASSIGN LW_LINES->* TO <TABLE>.
    CREATE DATA LW_LINE TYPE (LW_TABNAM).
    ASSIGN LW_LINE->* TO <WA>.
    DO 10 TIMES.
      APPEND INITIAL LINE TO <TABLE>.
    ENDDO.
    SY-TABIX = 4.
    DELETE <TABLE> INDEX SY-TABIX.
    WRITE SY-SUBRC.

  • Help with dynamic checkbox from database results

    Hi,
    I am creating some dynamic checkboxes from the results of a database read to sqlite.  I am able to get the data and the correct number of checkboxes is being created but I'm having a problem populating the labels for the checkboxes.  Here is the section of code that gets the results from the database and creates the checkboxes.
                    var result:Array = stmt.getResult().data;
                    for each( var obj:Object in result )
                        var cb:CheckBox = new CheckBox();
                        cb.label = obj.toString();
                        cb.setStyle("color", 0x00593B);
                        cb.setStyle("symbolColor", 0x000000);
                        container.contentGroup.addElement(cb);

    This was answered on another forum for me.
    The line cb.label = obj.toString();
    needed to be changed to the data.
    cb.label=obj.myDatabaseFieldName;
    myDatabaseFieldName would be whatever column you are pulling the data in from and should be the actual name in the table.
