Create my own bib schema

Hi,
I followed the bi_beans demo installation guide. It worked well and I have been able to run the JDeveloper demos.
Then I've tried to create my own dimensions/cubes/catalogs using OEnterprise Manager.
I executed cwm2_olap_metadata_refresh and it told it was refreshed.
Then things begin not working anymore:
- In jdeveloper, the bi_beans demos don't work anymore
- I used the bi_checkconfig program and it outputs:
JDEV_ORACLE_HOME ............................. = c:\jdev
JAVA_HOME .................................... = c:\jdev\jdk
JDeveloper version ........................... = 9.0.3.1.1107
BI Beans version ............................. = 9.0.3.6.0
BI Beans internal version .................... = 2.7.0.13.1
Connect to database .......................... = Successful
JDBC driver version .......................... = 9.2.0.3.0
JDBC JAR file location ....................... = c:\jdev\jdbc\lib
Database version ............................. = 9.2.0.2.1
OLAP Catalog version ......................... = N/A
OLAP AW Engine version ....................... = N/A
OLAP API Server version ...................... = N/A
BI Beans Catalog version ..................... = 2.7.0.13.1
OLAP API JAR file version .................... = 9.2
OLAP API JAR file location ................... = c:\jdev\jdev\lib\ext
Load OLAP API metadata ....................... = Successful
Number of metadata folders ................... = 3
Number of metadata measures .................. = 0
Number of metadata dimensions ................ = 0
Metadata output location ..................... = C:\Documents and Settings\rwout
ers.DEVELOP\Desktop\BI Check\bi_metadata.txt
Which is nearly perfect but the last 4 lines: Number of metadata dimensions which is now 0 (should be more)
==============================================================================
Type Name (S=Schema, C=Cube, M=Measure, D=Dimension)
========= ====================================================================
Folder... ROOT
Folder... Financial data
Folder... Sales Performance data
Folder... TIMING_CAT
So it sees the new catalog I created (TIMING_CAT) and the previous ones but It doesn't see anymore the cubes/.. from bibdemo and the mines as well.
What should I do ? What did I wrong ?

Well, I believe the setBounds method is used when using Absolute Positioning. See the Swing tutorial on "Using Layout Managers":
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/layout/index.html
I don't use Frames but I know the default LayoutManager for a JFrame is the BorderLayout. By default any component added to a BorderLayout is placed in the CENTER of the layout and will resize to fill the available size of its container. Again, this information is contained in the above link.

  • How to create our own XML Schema (.xsd) in Weblogic WorkShop

    Hi,
    I am new to Weblogic Workshop.I want to create one xml schema with custom elements.
    when I am creating a file xml schema(.xsd).The file contains default namespace and no child elements in it.I don't know how to add elements to that file.
    please tell me how to add parent elements and child elements and also our own xml namingspace.

    Hi Sivaram,
    Unfortunately, the 8.1 IDE did not have special tooling for schema generation.
    You will need to create it by hand or using an external tool
    If you are using an external tool to create the file within the schema project, you might want to disable the schema project auto build, which will be triggered every time a file save takes place
    cheers
    Raj

  • Why are BC objects created in user's schema

    Server = Sun Sparc SunOS 5.8, Oracle 8.1.7.4 SID
    Client = Windows 2000, Oracle 9iDS (v9.0.2 w/Jdeveloper v9.0.3)
    Network = 100MB TCP/IP
    I have a schema with relatively large (in my mind) tables master = 225,000 records; detail = 1,200,000 records.
    I've used Jdeveloper 9i to create a business components (Java based) view of these tables.
    When I execute the view (query) and request the last record of the master table, this action takes approximately 1 hr and 40 minutes to accomplish.
    The database is in archive mode.
    The redo logs (3) on the database were 500 KB files (the default created by the DBCA). I was seeing archive files created on the order of one every 10 seconds. I increased the logfiles to be 200 MB and now appear to be getting archives once every 10 minutes.
    I've tracked it down to something taking place in the connected user's tablespace during the query.
    I created a separate tablespace (with it's own temporary tablespace) for my test user. If I did not grant unlimited tablespace to this user, the query failed because the user did not have privilege on the tablespace.
    When I granted unlimited tablespace (is there no middle ground??), the tablespace grew to 290 MB from 128 KB. After disconnecting from the query (quitting the application) the tablespace remained at 290 MB. Upon restarting the query, the used tablespace initially shrunk back to 650KB and then grew again to 290 MB. The temporary tablespace never changed or seemed to be accessed. Both times the query took about1 hr and 40 minutes
    9 objects were created in the users schema, 3 tables, 4 indexes and 2 LOBs.
    My question is why these thing s need to be created for tables that are already indexed and why they would not stay populated for quick reuse. If every one of my users create and populate these tables and indexes for each query session, Ill soon run out of disk space, to say nothing about the ridiculously poor performance.
    Have I made some basic error in the creation of my business components that cause this condition?

    It will spew out a whole lot of diagnostic output. Copy and post that diag and let me have a look at it.Here goes ...... and guess what .... this actually worked, there was no tables created in the user schema and the query only took about 3 or 4 minutes. Something quirky in the JDeveloper / tester way of doing business ???

  • Priveleges to create procedures/functions in schemas

    Greetings,
    I have a default schema associated with my user account. Can permissions be given for my user account to create functions and procedures in another schema without giving that user priveleges to create in ANY schema.
    Our default schema for HTMLDB is not the schema associated with my user account. I want to be able to create my functions inside that schema, but our DBA's havent been able to find out how to give the privelege without opening up all schemas to that account.
    hope this made sense,
    Cliff Moon

    Okay Cliff, no problem.
    Now, Michael, I don't know of any prepared docs specifically about this but fwiw, I'll try to recap how it works.
    1. HTML DB uses a public account to create (or reclaim) a distinct database session to service each page request. The connection is configured with the modplsql DAD and the database user (schema) that owns the session is HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER. (The exception to this is when you configure a DAD for basic authentication.)
    2. The public packages (like wwv_flow) and procedures (like f) invoked through each HTTP request are owned by schema FLOWS_xxxxxx. Packages like wwv_flow use definers rights. This means, among other things, that they can execute any other packages owned by the FLOWS_xxxxxx schema, including the highly privileged, non-public packages that execute user code.
    3. The more privileged non-public packages do all the real work of rendering pages and processing POSTed pages. During these phases, your application code is executed (your report region queries, your DML operations, your page processes, validations, condition evaluation, your API calls, everything). All of this code is "parsed as" the database user (schema) assigned to your application. (Only one schema is assigned to a given application, although the assigned schema can be changed using the builder whenever you like.) The HTML DB engine can execute all of your application code as the "parse as" schema because it has SYS privileges to do so.
    4. Any of your code that HTML DB executes dynamically runs with the security privileges of your application schema. These privileges must have been granted explicitly and not through roles. So if your report query does 'select * from emp' it's necessary for emp (or a synonym for it) to exist in your application schema and for that schema to have select privilege on emp.
    5. The SQL Workshop works the same way, except things happen there at a workspace level, not at an application level. A workspace has one or more database schemas mapped to it. This means only that a conscious decision has been made (by an admin) to allow each workspace to access specific schemas. The list of schemas mapped to a given workspace appears in LOVs in various places, such as the SQL Command Processor. Selecting a schema from this LOV allows you to perform operations in that schema. You can perform operations in any of the other mapped schemas by selecting them from the LOV in turn.
    Note: so far we've said nothing about who the authenticated user is using your application (or the SQL Workshop application), because it has absolutely no bearing on anything so far.
    6. HTML DB allows developers to specify a plan to be used by the engine at the start of every page request to perform the chores of authentication, initial session registration and session management. This plan is called an authentication scheme. HTML DB provides standard schemes that are used by most developers, but developers can also design and build custom authentication schemes over which developers have complete control.
    7. During the execution of the authentication scheme for a page view (show) or page processing (accept) request, it is common for the scheme to cause a branch/redirect to a login page if it determines that no valid session yet exists. The operation of the login page results in the user being challenged for credentials and for those credentials to be verified. If they check out, related housekeeping tasks are performed such as recording the session ID in a table and session cookie creation. And a token is established to be used to identify the authenticated user for the duration of the HTML DB session. This value is stored in APP_USER and can be queried by developer-owned code and HTML DB-owned code as required.
    8. The credentials verification step is where user accounts come into play. It doesn't matter to HTML DB whether your application uses custom tables, an LDAP directory, an SSO infrastructure, or database accounts to verify credentials -- the verification takes place, usually once per HTML DB session, and that's that. The authentication scheme determines the exact method used.
    9. One example of an application that uses its own custom tables to hold account information (usernames/passwords) is HTML DB itself. You get the first account created for you during product installation and then you create administrator and developer accounts as you create multiple workspaces for developers at the site. These accounts are just rows in tables, a username, a password, an email address, the ID of the workspace, basic stuff like that. They are not database user accounts (schemas). And with these accounts, you can authenticate to HTML DB and use the Builder, the SQL Workshop, and the administration functions. Just remember, the database knows nothing of these accounts (they are like Oracle Applications user accounts).
    10. These HTML DB user accounts exist primarily to allow developers to use HTML DB. But they can also be used to allow end users to authenticate to applications created using HTML DB. That relieves each developer of having to "reinvent the wheel" and set up account repository tables and to have to write APIs to store/manage passwords, the work we did for HTML DB itself. Your application can simply use the built-in HTML DB authentication scheme which uses the account repository for credentials verification. It's not the only way for your application to verify credentials. In fact it's best suited for experimental applications, small workgroup applications, prototypes, apps on that scale. Applications that are slated for actual production deployment should be fitted with enterprise-level identity management solutions.
    11. Finally, HTML DB provides a very, very basic group-membership model that allows developer accounts (not database schemas) to be assigned to arbitrarily organized named groups. There is a supporting API for queries against these groups and an admin UI to create/maintain these groups. The same caveats given for using developer accounts for production applications apply to this facility.
    Recap:
    Database accounts: HTML DB does not use these accounts, their roles, or their privileges except to dynamically execute application code using these schemas as the "parsing schema".
    HTML DB user accounts: No relation to database schemas (*). They exist in custom tables owned by the HTML DB product. Accounts can be created and used by application developers as an out-of-the-box credentials verification method for authentication.
    *Exception: The "default schema" associated with an HTML DB user account is the name of a schema used to prime an LOV when the user sees a list-of-schemas LOV in places like the SQL Workshop.

  • Can I create my own attributes in iDS?

    I know to store my photo I can use the jpegPhoto attribute, but what about if I want to store other binary objects like maybe my fingerprints, can I create my own attributes for it, and how?
    Or I can't do that?

    You can use Directory Server Console to create new attributes. After adding new attributes to your schema, you must create a new object class to contain them.
    Creating object class:
    1.Click Create on the Object Classes tab.
    2.Enter a unique name for the object class in the Name text box.
    3.Enter an object identifier for the new object class in the OID (Optional) text box.
    4.Select a parent object for the object class from the Parent drop-down menu.
    5.To add an attribute that must be present in entries that use the new object class,highlight the attribute in the Available Attributes list and then click the Add
    button to the left of the Required Attributes box.
    6.To add an attribute that may be present in entries that use the new object class,highlight the attribute in the Available Attributes list and then click the Add
    button to the left of the Allowed Attributes box.
    7.To remove an attribute that you previously added, highlight the attribute in the Required Attributes list or the Allowed Attributes list and then click the
    corresponding Remove button.You cannot remove either allowed or required attributes that are inherited
    from the parent object classes.
    8.Click to OK.
    To create a new attribute:
    1. Display the Attributes tab.
    2. Click Create.
    The Create Attribute dialog box is displayed.
    3. Enter a unique name for the attribute in the Attribute Name text box.
    4. Enter an object identifier for the attribute in the Attribute OID (Optional) text box.
    5. Select a syntax that describes the data to be held by the attribute from the Syntax drop-down menu.
    6. If you want the attribute to be multi-valued,select the Multi-Valued checkbox.The Directory Server allows more than one instance of a multi-valued attribute
    per entry.
    7.Click OK
    This is repersenting binary data.
    You can represent binary data, such as a JPEG image, in LDIF using one of the following methods:
    The standard LDIF notation, the lesser than (<) symbol. For example:
    jpegphoto: < file:/path/to/photo
    If you use this standard notation, you do not need to specify the ldapmodify -b parameter. However, you must add the following line to the beginning of your LDIF file, or your LDIF update statements:
    version:1
    For example, you could use the following ldapmodify command:
    prompt% ldapmodify -D userDN -w user_passwd
    version: 1
    dn: cn=Barney Fife,ou=People,dc=siroe,dc=comchangetype: modify
    add: userCertificate
    userCertificate;binary:< file: BarneysCert
    Using base 64 encoding. You identify base 64 encoded data by using the ::
    symbol. For example:
    jpegPhoto:: encoded_data
    In addition to binary data, other values that must be base 64-encoded include:
    Any value that begins with a semicolon (;) or a space
    Any value that contains non-ASCII data, including new lines Use the ldif command-line utility with the -b parameter to convert binary data to LDIF format:
    ldif -b attribute_name
    where attribute_name is the name of the attribute to which you are supplying the binary data. The binary data is read from standard input and the results are written to standard output. Thus, you should use redirection operators to select input and output files.
    The ldif command-line utility will take any input and format it with the correct line continuation and appropriate attribute information. The ldif utility also assesses whether the input requires base 64 encoding. For example:
    ldif -b jpegPhoto < mark.jpg > out.ldif
    This example takes a binary file containing a JPEG-formatted image and converts it into LDIF format for the attribute named jpegPhoto. The output is saved to
    out.ldif.
    The -b option specifies that the ldif utility should interpret the entire input as a single binary value. If -b is not present, each line is considered to be a separate input value.

  • Creating a New User & Schema

    This is the 1st time I've logged into the Oracle 11g database as 'sysdba' using the SQL*Plus client. I'm trying to learn how Oracle creates objects and users but I can't find any info that helps me break down / understand what I'm missing. I guess this is a warning and just let you all know that I'm a PostgreSQL guy. In PostgreSQL, we create roles, not users. So now that I'm logged into Oracle 11g, I created a regular test user:
    CREATE USER carlos IDENTIFIED BY doesntknowsql;
    Then I need to grant session access to this user so:
    GRANT CREATE SESSION
    TO carlos;
    So this now gives me a user named 'carlos' with the grants to login, correct?
    My next question or confusion in being new to Oracle is the way it handles a 'database' and now this word is a little confusing but generally I can't just write a SQL statement to CREATE DATABASE test OWNER carlos;
    I've learned that in Oracle, you create a user and every user has it's own schema or container that is associated with that particular user or group role assigned to it. Is this accurate or close enough? If not, could someone please clarify for me to help my confusion?
    So I'm trying to understand how my newly created user 'carlos' can connect to Oracle 11g using SQL*Plus and how he can then create a table of sorts to start writing data into it. I guess I'm missing something and I'm reading the documentation but there's so much information!
    Thanks for any help!!!

    When I connect to the database as 'carlos', am I in a specific schema or named work space? When you log in to the database as carlos, your current_schema is set to CARLOS, yes. There are rare cases where it makes sense to change your current_schema but for the moment, assume that's not changable. If you log in as CARLOS, you're working with CARLOS's schema unless you explicitly qualify the object name with a schema name. So
    SELECT * FROM testis going to implicitly query the TEST table in the CARLOS schema while
    SELECT * FROM bob.testis going to explicitly query the TEST table in the BOB schema.
    I tried logging in and creating a table but I'm obviously missing something:Actually, we probably missed something.
    In a default 11.2 install, what you posted should work and a table TEST should be created in the CARLOS schema
    SQL> conn / as sysdba
    Connected.
    SQL> create user carlos identified by letmein;
    User created.
    SQL> grant create session to carlos;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> grant create table to carlos;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> conn carlos/letmein
    Connected.
    SQL> create table test (
      2    id integer primary key,
      3    name varchar2(100) not null
      4  );
    Table created.but when you try to insert a row, you'll get an error because you haven't been granted any quota in the tablespace you created the table in
    SQL> insert into test values( 1, 'Justin' );
    insert into test values( 1, 'Justin' )
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01950: no privileges on tablespace 'USERS'In earlier versions of Oracle, or in 11.2 databases where deferred segment creation is not enabled, you would get an error creating the table. You can fix that by granting the user quota on whatever tablespace(s) you want him to use. For example
    SQL> conn / as sysdba
    Connected.
    SQL> alter user carlos
      2    quota 10M on users;
    User altered.gives the CARLOS user privileges to use 10 MB of space in the USERS tablespace. Once you do that, you'll be able to insert the row
    SQL> conn carlos/letmein
    Connected.
    SQL> insert into test values( 1, 'Justin' );
    1 row created.If you don't care about how much space CARLOS uses or what tablespaces he uses, you can
    GRANT unlimited tablespace TO carlosJustin

  • When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

    When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

    Yes. I would clarify your statement about the "shared" iTunes Library though. If you want each iOS device to have its own music library, you should create separate user accounts for them. Read:

  • Getting error while creating the variable of Schema Element type

    Hi everybody,
    For creating a variable of schema element type I am doing the following steps...
    Select 'Variables' after right clicking on bpel process. IN this window, go to 'Create VAriable' then select 'Element' type. Now in Type Choose, I expanded the my imported schema files. And selected a element type, then click ok to create this variable... I am getting the message...
    IN ORDER TO SAVE IMPORTED WSDL/SCHEMA FILES, YOU MUST HAVE A PARTNER LINK LOCATED UNDER THE CURRENT PROJECT DIRECTORY.
    What is mean by that.
    I have imported the schema files in project. AFter that I have imported them into the WSDL also. Now why I am getting error while creating the variable. However I can create variable directly in .BPEL file then everything is fine. And it is working also. But what is mean with the above error? Why I am not able to create variable through GUI?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I have this same problem this morning, and I was going crazy, until I found this webpage on the internet:
    [http://technology.amis.nl/blog/1803/problem-importing-xml-schema-in-bpel-process|http://technology.amis.nl/blog/1803/problem-importing-xml-schema-in-bpel-process]
    The idea is that the jdeveloper is not very good working with directories with spaces on the directory name. If you move all your work to a directory without spaces, it will work smoothly. At least, it had worked for me.

  • How do I create my own favorite template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to templates, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get

    First, how do I create my own favorite theme template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to already existing themes, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get. I just want to use a picture as my DVD cover, and then insert a slideshow. Also, when I try to burn my 8.5gb double sided slideshow, all that burns is the music. It is a large slideshow, a memorial on the life of my now deceased brother. This means a lot to me and to my family, and I am having so much trouble trying to burn it. I have gone into Project View and selected appropriately. The bar shows I have room to burn this DVD, but it does not burn.  I have burned so many DVDs in the past, but this one just will not burn. I am so confused at this point. I will say this is the first 8.5gb I have attempted to create and burn. My specs list a 7.7gb or 4.7gb as operable....but there are no 7.7gb dvds. I had to purchase 8.5gb. Help? What am I doing wrong? I have spent so much time on this, and just cannot figure it out.

    Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor.  The pro version of iMovie.
    Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow.  It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them.  You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
    When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
    Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
    Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
    Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
    Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
    To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
    Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
    The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version).  Personal preferences showing here.

  • Can we create our own loops? Basic question.

    Hi,
    Can we create our own loops in Logic Pro. I see in all the tutorials. They are either taking input from external instruments OR use existing apple loops.
    I have tried FL studio demo to create our own loops. But there is no trial version for Logic Pro. Need your inputs before I purchase it.
    Thank you.
    Anji

    Yes you can!
    It is as simple as selecting a Region (optional trimming recommended) and choose the Export command.
    A Dialog window opens up that lets you enter the metadata
    Apple had its separate "Apple Loop Utility" app (now only available in the developer package) that allowed you to create loops in a standalone app. The built-in loop capability in Logic uses part of that engine.
    Hope that helps

  • Can you create your own Themes

    Please help I'm new to iweb and I'm trying to figure out who to create my own theme, complete with my own color palette, fonts etc? I maintain my sororities website and everything has to be pink and green but I would like for our site to have the professional look iweb provides without all of the hassel of custom coding. I just need a few text pages, calendar, photo album, etc. Feel free to check out our current site if will help you point me in the right direction. http://www.akaupsilontauomega.org/
    thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. To create a complete theme with all the different pages takes considerable coding knowledge.
    I think it would be more expedient to start with a blank page of the white theme and add your shapes, colors, photos, etc. that you want to use. Be careful regarding use of non web safe fonts. If you do it can change how the site looks when viewed by visitors on PCs which might not have that font on their machine. See the following regarding web safe fonts:

  • Creating your own theme-templates for printing?

    Can I create my own theme-templates for printing?
    /BonneSwe

    No, iTunes printing is quite simple and only works off it's own templates. If you want to customise templates you'd be better advised to look at on of the specialised cover printing programs that are available. DiskLabel is one that springs to mind.

  • How do you create your own theme?

    I'm into astronomy and I'd like to create my own theme on my phone (6300) for when I'm at a dark site.  We use red light only at dark sites because white light ruins your night vision for longer.  How can I create a red-based colour theme/wallpaper/text etc?

    Actually, the .nth files used as themes for S40 phones such as the 6300 are very simple and you don't really need any software other than a text editor to create them.
    These .nth files are in fact renamed .zip files. Rename one back to a .zip file, unzip it and look at the structure. At the core of it you have a simple XML file describing the various aspects of the theme. If any media (wallpaper, screensaver, ringtone etc.) is referred to in the XML file it'll be bundled in the archive along with the XML.
    Make any changes you want, zip the lot up again, rename it as a .nth file and you're done.
