Create New ABAP WebDynpro

Hi
I have completed a working approval process in ECC6 for trip expenses. This will be eventually used via ESS in the portal. (EP7).
As part of the process in ECC6 I have a couple of new Dialog screens that allows the user to choose an approver.
My question is, how do I (and what do I use) to convert these new ABAP screens into components of (would they be components, not sure of terminolgy) ABAP WebDynPro, so that they can be seen and used from within the portal.

Issue with new abap webdynpro INBOX EHP5

Hello Experts,
I'm currently working on the configuration of ESS/MSS services in EHP5. We are using different services like Appraisal OSA, Learning solution,etc. I already configured the Launchpad ESS, it's working fine but now I have an issue with the new Abap webdynpro INBOX. The employee and manager see their workitem notifications correctly in their respective inbox.(I'm calling application: IBO_WDA_INBOX that I integrated in my launchpad).
My problem is that when clicking on a workitem in order that it opens me the appraisal document (in edit or display mode), I got an error saying: "There is no iView available for system "": object "SWF_WIOBN". For more information, contact your administrator."
I did some search on SAP help without any results. I'm wondering how should I register workflow tasks? I saw there is a table called IBO_C_WF_TAS (I added entries e.g:
IBO_WDA_INBOX TS99700031   EXECUTEAPPRAISALDOCUMENT).
I tried also to register all my custom tasks in transaction SWFVISU.
example:
TASK: TS99700013
Visualization Type: ABAP Webdynpro
APPLICATION:    HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT
DYNPARAM   :    sap-wd-configId=HAP_AC_MAIN_DOC
NAMESPACE :    sap
SYSTEM_ALIAS: SAP_Webdynpro_XSS (I did create a system in sap portal under System Administration with as AS property /webdynpro/dispatcher )
Could you let me know what could be wrong, what I missed? Shall I create an iView, if yes which one? which properties?

Thanks for you reply. Still the same issue. Following are the config I did till now:
In the PCD I created a new business object (SWF_WIOBN), an operation linked to the object (NAVIGATE).
I did create an iView (powl) in the custom folder, I integrated the operation within iView. I created a page that contains the iView.
In the properties of the iView I gave:
Application Name: HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT.
Launch in New Window: "Display in separate Headerless Portal Window".
System: SAP_ECC_HumanResources
I added the required entries in tables:
IBO_C_WF_TTAS
IBO_C_WF_ACS
IBO_V_WF_TAC
IBO_V_WF_TTAC
etc...
I saw in the code of linked feeder class: CL_IBO_INBOX_FEEDER_WI that it's checking something called "Launch_Editor".. Is it a property that we can set somewhere?
Following are the parameters retrieved by system:
BO_NAME       = SWF_WIOBN
BO_OP_NAME = NAVIGATE
LAUNCHER_PARAMETERS -> empty.??
BO_RESOLVE_MODE = USER_SET_OF_ROLES
LAUNCH_EDITOR empty where must be set?
At the end I still get the error:
There is no iView available for system "": object "SWF_WIOBN". For more information, contact your administrator.

Problem creating new ABAP Technical System in SLD

I newly installed a ECC 5 IDES system (ABAP + JAVA) on my computer for ABAP and Webdynpro learning.
I got problem when I try to create new ABAP Technical System in SLD.
I put my steps of installation here so you know my full story.
1. Install Central Instance (Non-unicode);
2. Install Database Instance (Non-unicode);
3. Install Java add-in on ABAP;
4. Configure the HTTP connection parameters in J2EE Engine Visual Administrator
All of the above steps are successful.
Now my Webdynpro application need to access a Function Module, so I want to create a JCo connection in Webdynpro Content Administrator, but both application server and message server are not available, so I can't create any connection.
I go back to SLD to register ABAP Technical System step by step below:
1.      Choose Home ® Technical Systems.
2.      Choose New Technical System.
3.      Select the AS ABAP radio button.
4.      Choose Next.
5.      Enter system details (Installation number, host name).
6.      Choose Next.
7.      Enter message server and central application server details.
8.      Choose Next.
9.      Choose Next.
10.    Add New Client 800, leave logical name blank, click Add.
11.    Choose Next.
12.    Here the system says 'No product available', the whole effort make no sense.
I tried every possible settings, but at step 12 it keeps telling me 'No product available'.
This is the problem I want to fix.
Can anyone help me?

Create new abap program

my usual practice in creating new abap program is in se80 then type the desired program name then the sap will display that the program name is not existing and will ask if i want to create it.
however in my new company when i do the above step it just display that the program is not existing and no question if i will create this. in line with this i would like to ask how would i create new abap program?

Hi Donna,
Do you have the relevant authorisations? Maybe you donot have authorisation to create new objects? Check your profiles via SU01. Personally I always ask for SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW in the Development system.

I am not aware any short cut for SE38 other than go to SE38 and click on create/change button. You may want to try SE80 also. But again no short cut.
By the way, how is your coding on updating ZTABLE?

Image UI element is not displayed in Abap webdynpro application

Hi Experts,
I need your advice on below issue.
I have created new ABAP Webdynpro application just to
display employee photo.
When loading the application, I generated a dynamic URL for
a image in webdynpro application path in cache to map to Image UI Element. It
is working well in DEV and QA environment. But it is not displaying when loaded
in PRD system.
Please suggest where to check the cache properties in system
in order to resolve this issue.
The user can access the application path, is there any chance for security issue in the same path?
I suspect the URL is cleared before user access it, can it be controlled via any config?

Hi John,
You can create a ABAP webdynpro application in the transaction SE80.
Only precondition is u have authorization to develop Webdynpro Programming
in SE80.
Go to SE 80 --> Select webdynpro ABAP --? Create Project --> enter the name
and text-->save it --> right click ur Project Node --> create --> View.
Note: In Webdynpro Programmin if u want to create view or window or any new object u have to use rightclick on the project root node or corresponding node.

ABAP Webdynpro portal integration

Hi everyone,
I created an ABAP WebDynpro Application, and now I'd like to integrate it into our company ESS portal.
How can I do this? I search the SDN, and the Internet for documentation and already done some parts:
1. SPRO -> Created the Rersource, Service, and assigned the service to a subarea
2. Portal Content administrator-> Created the iView for the ABAp Webdynpro application
But still, I can't even see the link in the portal to my new WDP application..... Can you please tell me what is missing?

Hi,
When you have created the the WD ABAP iView you must have placed this in a page in a workset in a role.
You have to provide the navigation path for your iview link.

Creation of New Abap User

Hi experts,
Our client has purchased only one developer key license . We have already Developer users in dev and qty . My Question is Can i create new Abap developer user in dev & qty as license is only for production system ? or can i delete the old users in dev & qty and Generate a new developer key for my new users.

SAP provides license based on users only for the users in Production system.
You can create any number of users in DEV & QUA...
But make sure you abide with the user license agreement in the production system.

Using customize portal theme for abap webdynpro.

Dear all,
I have a customized portal theme where we used different color for the portal. When I create a abap webdynpro application for a workflow task (the application will launch when user click on the item in the UWL). When the application launch, it does not use the customized portal theme instead it just use the standard theme.
Anyone knows where can I configure it?

Hi Brian,
You can change the color of a table only if u have the Textview as UI element for cell.
You can change the semantic color property of textview.
Please check this.
I would suggest you to use ALV instead of Table as you can change its colors easily by using functions like SET_DESIGN
GET_DESIGN of IF_SALV_WD_TABLE_SETTINGS.

Consuming web service in ABAP webdynpro application

I have created a webservice to RFC scenarion in XI. I have the URl
http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=party:service:channel in this format with me.
now i want to create an ABAP webdynpro application and call this webservice. for example the application contains some input fields and clicking on submit button will call the webservice and result is diaplyed in the same window. How can we do this??

ABAP webdynpro CO not showing input parameters

I know this is strange. But might be that I'm missing something in the ABAP webdynpro creation/configuration.
Here it is./.
I have created an ABAP webdynpro application in SE80 with the context declared in COMPONENTCONTROLLER and a view with the context mapped to the COMPONENTCONTROLLER's context.
The webdynpro application per se is working fine.
When i created a CO in GP with type ABAP WD Application, and choose this application, all is fine until i reach the Define input screen. Here, i dont see any of those inout fields that are present in my WD COMPONENTCONTROLLER context. Should i do something to make it visible here?

Good question. I'm surprised why this question never came up till now.
I had a requirement where I had to use WD for ABAP in GP. I did a lot of research on this and found out with the following inferences.
Pros
1) It is easier to build and use when compared to WD for JAVA
2) No deploying needed
3) ABAP coding can be done in this so as to utilize the power of SAP to the fullest.
4) No Java knowledge is required
5) Can embedd any Adobe forms to make it interactive Adobe in GP
Cons
1) It can only import values from GP context and cannot export parameters like any other CO.
2) Not very flexible as WD Java
3) Comes up with an additional submit button on the GP Process which can supercede all the other checking and data validation functionalities that are built in the other webdynpro buttons in the Actual ABAP WD.
4) The context visibility is one way from GP and not to GP.
Steps:
1) Create the WDA in SE80 and test it.
2) Create a CO of type WD for ABAP
3) Map the parameters with the process context parameters
4) Test the CO and Process

Abap Webdynpro & Adobe Interactive Forms : Refresh Context

We created a Abap Webdynpro program to fill an Adobe interactive form. When we read the first time the data the form context is filled and displayed. When we read other data then the form is not refreshed. This is <u><b>only the case</b></u> when the form is enabled as interactive.
When we use 2 views then everyting is ok. But we want to place the form in an Embedded View, then we have the same problem. Is this a know problem ?

We faced a similar Issue. We could get past it by chaging the view property to "When Visible" for both the embedded view & Main view.
Try & letme know if it works. We are trying to solve some other issues aroind this right now. Only the checkboxes dont get populated the second time we go to the view having Adobe form. Rest all data on form is refreshed. But not the Check Boxes.

Trigger workflow from ABAP webdynpro and attach an Adobe interactive form

I have a need to create an ABAP Webdynpro that will upload a completed Adobe interactive form and then route the form to multiple approvers thru workflow. I am having trouble finding any documentation or examples of passing the Adobe form in the workflow. Do I have to save the content of every field on the form to an internal table and then have every workitem call an ABAP webdynpro to render the form? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Creating attachment in Webdynpro for ABAP

I am new to webdynpro for ABAP. I have a requirement like I need to create an attachment in webdynpro screen. I have searched the forums and I got the class CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_CREATE and method EXECUTE_ITS. but when I call this method I am getting dump in the method.
Can anybody please suggest me how to create attachment in webdynpro for ABAP?
When ever attachment is created and clicks on save button workflow will be triggered and a workitem appears portal when ever the user click on the display attachment I need to display the created attachemnt.

Please follow the steps below;
Follow these steps;
1.create a node 'FILEUPLOAD' with 2 attributes
a) FILECONTENT type XSTRING
b) FILENAME type STRING
2. Create a fileuplaod uielement
a) bind the data property with attribute 'FILECONTENT'
b) bind the filename property with attribute 'FILENAME'
3. Create a button 'UPLOAD'
a) create the action method for this button
Paste the following code in this method
Data l_node type ref to if_wd_context_node.
Data l_stru type wd_this->elements_cn_fileupload.
l_node = wd_context->get_child_node( 'FILEUPLOAD' ).
l_node->get_static_attributes( importing static_attributes = l_stru ).
"save l_stru-fielcontent in database. Your file will be saved in the database in XSTRING format.
Now when you want to display this file;
1. Create a Node 'FILEDOWNLOAD' with 1 attribute
a) FILE type XSTRING
2. Create a filedownload uielement
a) bind the data property with the attribute 'FILE'
Fetch the file from databased and set the File attribute of teh filedownload uielemnt to display the file.
