Creating new abap report

Is there a shortcut in the abap editor which i can use to create a new report instead of going back to se38

Hi Megan,
I am not aware any short cut for SE38 other than go to SE38 and click on create/change button. You may want to try SE80 also. But again no short cut.
By the way, how is your coding on updating ZTABLE?

you can try infoset query:
STEP - A:
1. Go to T Code RSQ02 and give the InfoSet name & select CREATE.
2. Provide the Name(Description) and Data Source i.e. for eg here i take "DIRECT READ OF TABLE" = /BIC/AODS100. Then CONTINUE.
3. Select what to Include in the 3 options available with the POPUP, here "INCLUDE ALL TABLE FIELDS". Then Check the fields and click GENERATE(one RED and WHITE round icon).
4. Now provide the PACKAGE for the INFOSET. Come Back(F3).
STEP - B: optional(If u want to create a new user group)
1. Select ENVIRONMENT -> USER GROUPS. Provide the User Group name and CREATE.
2. Provide Description and SAVE.
3. Provide PACKAGE and SAVE. Come Back (F3) to the Initial Screen.
4. Click Role/User Group Assignment. Select Newly Created User Group or an existing one. Then SAVE (CTRL + S). F3.
STEP - C:
1. Select ENVIRONMENT -> Queries. Provide the query name and CREATE.
2. Select the INFOSET u have created and assigned the user group.
3. Provide the Title and Select BASIC LIST. There you have to select (check) the fields you want to display, SAVE and then TEST. It will ask for Variant, just CONTINUE.

Create new abap program

my usual practice in creating new abap program is in se80 then type the desired program name then the sap will display that the program name is not existing and will ask if i want to create it.
however in my new company when i do the above step it just display that the program is not existing and no question if i will create this. in line with this i would like to ask how would i create new abap program?

Hi Donna,
Do you have the relevant authorisations? Maybe you donot have authorisation to create new objects? Check your profiles via SU01. Personally I always ask for SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW in the Development system.

Problem creating new ABAP Technical System in SLD

I newly installed a ECC 5 IDES system (ABAP + JAVA) on my computer for ABAP and Webdynpro learning.
I got problem when I try to create new ABAP Technical System in SLD.
I put my steps of installation here so you know my full story.
1. Install Central Instance (Non-unicode);
2. Install Database Instance (Non-unicode);
3. Install Java add-in on ABAP;
4. Configure the HTTP connection parameters in J2EE Engine Visual Administrator
All of the above steps are successful.
Now my Webdynpro application need to access a Function Module, so I want to create a JCo connection in Webdynpro Content Administrator, but both application server and message server are not available, so I can't create any connection.
I go back to SLD to register ABAP Technical System step by step below:
1.      Choose Home ® Technical Systems.
2.      Choose New Technical System.
3.      Select the AS ABAP radio button.
4.      Choose Next.
5.      Enter system details (Installation number, host name).
6.      Choose Next.
7.      Enter message server and central application server details.
8.      Choose Next.
9.      Choose Next.
10.    Add New Client 800, leave logical name blank, click Add.
11.    Choose Next.
12.    Here the system says 'No product available', the whole effort make no sense.
I tried every possible settings, but at step 12 it keeps telling me 'No product available'.
This is the problem I want to fix.
Can anyone help me?

My Trips and Expenses - Create new expense report is not coming up..

We are facing a issue in T&E that, when we try to click on "Create new Expense Report" from My Trips and Expenses it is not coming up..
And same when we execute the backend application through SE80 it is coming fine.
Please anyone suggest the root cause..

Yes, I just tested this thing out in 11.1.1.5. Please find more details below.
1. I create a sample 'BIConsumer' user.
2. Logged into the BI Server.
3. Navigated to Catalog and clicked on New
4. I could get only two options 'Report Job' and 'Action Intelligence'.
To provide proper privileges,
1. Logged into BI Server as BIAdministrator.
2. Navigated to Administration -> Manage Privileges -> Catalog/
3. Given explicit permissions to 'BIConsumer' to create folders and 'My folders and Dashboard'.
To verify,
1. Logged back to BI Server as 'BIConsumer' user.
2. Now, in the catalog could see 'New Folder' option under 'My folders'
For further analysis, can you please check which roles this particular user is having? You can click on username at the top right corner -> My Account->Roles and Catalog Groups.

Error when attempting to create new Crystal Report against SAP BW

We're getting an error when attemptiing to create a new report using the SAP toolbar in CR:
"Failed to retrieve SSO2 logon ticket. Please contact your BW administrator".
Any ideas? We're able to run existing reports fine. Just can't create new ones using the toolbar.

Create New ABAP WebDynpro

Hi
I have completed a working approval process in ECC6 for trip expenses. This will be eventually used via ESS in the portal. (EP7).
As part of the process in ECC6 I have a couple of new Dialog screens that allows the user to choose an approver.
My question is, how do I (and what do I use) to convert these new ABAP screens into components of (would they be components, not sure of terminolgy) ABAP WebDynPro, so that they can be seen and used from within the portal.

I want to save work with opening Crystal Reports application and manually adding DataDefinition fields which my application provides...

Creating new simple report

Hi!
I have to create a new report, i was advised to use SQVI but here i can use only one table and even my report is simple i need more data.
I need a result of list of batches in the warehouse, not yet picked, what means that they can be already assigned to the delivery or not yet as well.
Table VBUP is useful but does not show the list of batches.
It can be as well the list of batches fully picked and then i would reverse the selection. Somehow. But i need a list!

Hello,
Open the Central Configuration Manager (CCM) from "Start > BusinessObjects XI Release 2 > BusinessObjects Enterprise > Central Configuration Manager".
Click on the "Add Server" button, which will open the Server Wizard.
Here you can add another Webi Report Server to your Enterprise system.

Cannot see data in infotype when creating new Crystal Report

Dear Experts,
I have installed SAP Crystal Report 2011 trial version. After many weeks of trying to install CR2011 and making it work, i finally able to connect to SAP R/3 (ECC5.0).
The problem is after choosing the table (eg. PA0002) and selecting field "employee number", "name", "start date", "end date" and other fields and selecting preview, the report only show "employee number", "start date" and "end date".
The rest of the fields in PA0002 is showing BLANKS. I check in backend R/3 and the data is there.
I also tried choosing "Mandt", the field is also showing blank in report preview.
My basis team has done the following:
1. Performing ABAP imports
2. Grant authorisation for crystal report connection
But still the fields above is not showing.
Any clue?

HI Zul,
Its clearly the problem with the version of crystal you are using
you have mentioned that you are using crystal 2011 and the ECC is SAP R/3 5.0
Because crystal 2011 is only compatible with latest ECC client like 6.0 and above ...
Solution are :-
1.) you can upgrade the connectivity driver with the ECC
or
2.) you can use 2008 crystal report tool to connect the table , so can find the missing feilds
Please try this and let me know you are able to fix this

What reports are you trying to generate? I believe Apex can generate PDF reports out-of-the-box.

Create transaction code for abap report

Hello,
don't know if this is the correct subforum (sorry in advance).
I have created a ABAP Report in SE38 having a SELECTION-SCREEN.
Now I would like to have a Transaction code to refer to the report. So that I can call the Transaction and then get the selection screen to use the abap report.
How can I do this the simplest way? I can't find anything in google, can you give me some hints?

select the second radio button(transaction code for reports)
give short description and press enter
after that give your program name
and select the gui check boxes as required for html ,java,

Creating New Reports is blocked

I am trying to create new crystal reports by using u201CStandard Report Wizardu201D on Start Page. But every time when I click the icon the crystal reports window is frozen. The interesting thing is I can open and run old reports without any problems.
Anyone have any idea?

What is the version of Crystal Designer that you are using?
Try to apply service packs and check the report.
