Create new vi by clicking on a button in front panel

Hi. I'm quite new with Labview.
I have to use an if statment to enable a button(I dont know whether it is possible or not in LabVIEW) then when the button is enabled to user should click on the button(lets say NEXT button) to close that vi and open another vi from a specific address.I don't need to save anything from the previous vi I just need to close it and open another one .
Does anybody know how to first enable a button as a result of getting correct answer from an if statment and also how to close and open new vi by clicking on that button.

I want to create one button for example one help button on front panel of VI so by pressing that any new user can open folder in which I have store some help guide.
Means I have make one folder on my desktop in that I have save all the data which should be useful for new user so if some new user want to run the programm and if he has no idea that how to run program then he can simply press help button and after pressing that helping folder will be open then reading then instruction user can start the program.

The Help that aCe posted will not work if you intend for the help to be displayed immediately. Since it is queued it will not be processed until the run is complete if it is currently running. This also means that if the Pause button is pressed the help will be delayed for quite some time. Also, you should avoid the use of local variables to control state information. The state machine should maintain all of your state information. The producer should only detect the events and pass the messages to the consumer. What you are encountering is a classic issue with the producer/consumer with the consumer acting as a state machine. Interrupting the flow of states with new events of a higher priority can be problematic. Simply placing items in the front of the queue may not always work correctly. There are some examples of implementations that use multiple queues which can create prioritized messages.

Open new window on click of a button

Dear All,
We are using VC for development of Dashboards.
I have created the related i views.
First page of dashboard shows all the high level graphs.
I intoduced a button on the chart to go into details (another Iview)
I was able to navigate to the next layer on click of button in tool bar and comeback to the first layer again.
I want to open a new window when I click on the button on the tool bar of chart..
Is it Possible in VC? Please help us in this regard.

Sorry for getting back late.
Thanks for your inputs. Problem is solved using pushbutton. I gave the URL of the second Iview in the hyperlink of the pushbutton system action.
The problem with the Popup window is that it wont allow you to to go back and choose or analyze other parts of dashboard. so we adopted the pushbutton approach which takes you to another window allowing full access to the main window.

Launch a URL in new tab on click of a button

Hi All,
I am currently launching a URL from R3 on click of a button on a screen. When I click on the button the second time it lauches the URL again, but opens it in a new window. I am using IE8 to open the URL's. What i wanted to know, is there any way where I can launch the URL in the same IE8 window, but in a different tab i.e. instead of opening two IE8 windows, launch one window with two tabs.
Any help would be useful.

As far as I know there isn't an HTML TAG to do that. In CSS3 there is a property 'target-new' that can be used
[target-new property|http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-hyperlinks/#the-target-new]
but I'm not sure if IE8 implements this feauture.
The only easy solution I see is to configure the IE8 to open all the links in a new TAB instead of a new window.
Open IE8 then go to "Tools" menu -> "Internet options" then in the "Tabs" section click on "Settings" and Select
"When links from other programs in:" "A new tab in the current window".
You can do the same with the :
"When a pop-up is encountered" "Allways open pop-ups in a new tab".

My browser keeps trying to create new tabs on clicks though I've followed the directions to fix the problem, but it only works for a while.

Things will be working fine...then suddenly I start getting a new tab with every click. Thanks for your help. I had tried starting Firefox in safe-mode before I posted this request, but it did not work. I tried to restore the system to an earlier version, but that made everything worse. Two accounts were unusable and one sort of worked, so I reloaded the operating system and now firefox works, for how long, I don't know. But thanks again for your suggestion.

Create Run And Stop Buttons on Front Panel, rather than using the toolbar run/stop

I would like to make my vi more user friendly by creating start and stop buttons on the front panel. I havent found much info on how to create them. I have created a boolean stop button to stop my FOR LOOP.

Creating the buttons is easy - just select the style you want from the Boolean palette. What you need to do is change your diagram and the VI properties. To have a VI automatically start running when opened, open VI Properties by selecting that under the File menu or right clicking the VI's icon. Select Execution and check the Run when opened box. If you need the user to enter some data or change parameters before running the program, there's a couple of ways to go about it with a front panel Start button. You could have a separate while loop with just the start button in it and connect an output of that to a main while loop. This creates data flow and ensures that the start while loop executes before the main. You could create a simple state machine. T
here's a couple of shipping examples. Just open the Example Finder and enter state for the keyword. You could also use the Event structure. Again, there are several shipping examples. Instead of doing a search, you could also browse the Example Finder and look at what's underneath the Building User Interfaces topic.
p.s. I don't think you created a stop button for a for loop as there is no way to stop a for loop. What you can stop is a while loop.

How to close the detach popup on click of a button in the panel collection

Hi,
I'm using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.
I have an af table surrounded by panel collection. There is a button on panel collection to commit the changes in the table.
Clicked detach button to view the table in full browser.
On click of Commit button, the detach popup is not closed. I have set partialSubmit of that button to false. Then also detach popup is not closed.
Can anybody suggest me how to close the detach popup on click of a button in the toolbar.

I tried this approach, when the view tree is navigated on the Detach, I see that the tree is same as if it is traversed on the page without detach.

For the second query where you want to refresh parent window and close the popup window,
Create a html region and give a condition to this region that it should display on a particular request and pass that request on your button click and write this javascript code in your Region SourceAccordingly I created a Region on the Calling Page and have the condition Request = REFRESH.
Now my problem is on the pop-up window how can I pass the Request as the action when button pressed is Submit and I am using an SQL Insert Action.
For such an action for button click the Request field is hidden.
Also please help me through this one for setting the Item values in the pop up window:

How to open a new window on click of a button, for printing stuffs in adf

Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7.0 version.
I am having a Print Button. On click of this I want to open a new window? how is it possible. Note it should not be a popup or panelwindow.

By impelemntign a litte javascript with window.open(...) that is called when button is clicked (onClientClick).

Hi Vila,
Issue here is you are trying to create Input field with already used id "inf1" in first line of code
IWDInputField inf1=(IWDInputField)view.createElement(IWDInputField.class,"inf1");
Please change it to
IWDInputField inf1=(IWDInputField)view.createElement(IWDInputField.class,"inf2");
and correspondingly line
tc.addChild(inf2);
Your code will work.
Please note that you should follow....following code style in wdDoModifyview

Missing run stop button both front panel & diagram

Hello,
I have a VI a colleague gave me and one of it's subVI is missing all the buttons.
It is not the usual trick of custom window appearance, there are no buttons even in the diagram, and in properties, I'm not allowed to check the box to display them. (see snapshot attached)
As you can see, in Execute menu, I can't either run or stop (sorry the interface is in French) , but I can go to execution mode, or execute step by step, and the subVI runs normally.
Anyone ever seen such a weird thing ?
For info, I'm using Labview2012 and the VI is from Labview2010 and it's not protected.

I am guessing that the priority (VI Properties -> Execution) has been set to subroutine.

Outlook 2007 hangs when clicking the To button in a new email

Hello,
I have a person whose Outlook 2007 hangs whenever they create a new email and click the To button to bring up the GAL. By hangs, I mean it becomes unresponsive and you have to End Task the new email, which causes Outlook itself to crash. I've tried the following:
Repairing Office
Uninstalling/Reinstalling Office
Creating a new profile
The only thing that fixes it is running Outlook.exe /safe, but that's not an acceptable long term solution. I have tried disabling all add-ons and running Outlook normally, but it still hangs.
If anyone has any ideas or can help in any way, I would really appreciate it.

Step 1: Disable the addins in Outlook 2007:
On the Tools menu, click Trust Center, and then click Add-ins.
In the Add-ins box, identify the add-in that you want to enable or disable and note the Add-in type located in the Type column.
Select the Add-in type in the Manage box and then click Go.
Select or clear the check box for the Add-in that you want enable or disable and then click OK.
Step 2: If you have bigger PST/OST files then it may take a while to load - during the time, it may become unresponsive. Just for testing, remove the PST file and reopen the

In the left pane, click Macro Security.
Click Warnings for signed macros; all unsigned macros are disabled.
In the left pane, click Add-ins.
Select the Apply macro security settings to installed add-ins check box.
You can try the above steps and let me know whether this resolves the issue or not?

Creating new row right after popup opens (JBO-35007 because of trigger)

Hi,
I have the same popup (with an ADF form) to add and to edit data. But i have two buttons which displays this popup - Add new and Edit, Edit works OK, on add, i insert new record like this:

        view.insertRow(newRow);
        view.setCurrentRow(newRow);before popup is open. And it adds a new record. But the record has id -10 (or some other negative number). This -10 is shown on calling page (the page from which the popup is open) in ADF ReadOnly table as -10 as id and other cells in row empty. That shouldn't happen (se bellow why). User then edits empty form in popup, and commits - then i get JBO-35007 because -10 changed to 123 - because of trigger.
I tried to requery - it doesn't help, see Refresh after pop-up window closes.
Can you suggest a solution on how to create a row right after popup opens?
Also,
i create new record on button's LaunchListener method. This method seems to execute before popup is open and so it affects the calling page also. I think the problem would be solved if new row would be created after popup is opened, not while opening it. (clicking create in popup works fine)

in my real case, i usually don't show ids; but to simplify debugging, i created test project where i show as many things as possible.
you mean, creating new record like following?
        bindings.getOperationBinding("Create").execute();I don't use that because i don't get empty fields in popup window (although new record is created). Actually, i don't know how to set this created record to be selected one. Suggestions?
And I did some more testing, if I create new record with clicking on Create (not creating new row automatically), i get JBO-35007 only if there was selected any other than the first row in table.
and i tried to move create method binding in pagedef, so it's the first one.. But it seems like there is no effect.
btw, i found this in one of examples on web:
