  • Deploy Lync 2013 Via SCCM 2012

    Dear,
I wants to deploy Microsoft Lync 2013 via SCCM 2012, I have created a new deployment package based on MSI file to install Microsoft Lync 2013 for company machines, during the installation package will install for clients computer perfectly but instead of
install automatically to users, every time message coming user should do it manually for example user should accept the terms of the agreement, kindly I need a way to solve this issue, I need Lync 2013 automatically install without users doing anything, please
    see attached snapshot.

Make sure that you are using the right command line using your newly created MSP
    ex: setup.exe /adminfile "Lync_Updated.msp"
As proposed, update your DP so that your MSP gets distributed.
You can also follow this guide if you're still experiencing difficulties.

  • How do i create packages for distribution?

    hi,
i am trying to distribute upgrades, what would be the best way (our organization doesn't allow individual downloads of large files)

    Hi breeches,
I believe you wish to create package for the Creative cloud applications.

  • Trouble while creating package for extraction

I am working on generic extraction using views.
I was told that after selecting a view when I save the data source I cannot save using a local package as it cannot be transported.  Hence I am trying to create a new package.
So I have opened a new session, entered T code se80 to create a new package.
While creating a package I selected Home as software component and in the Package type box I select Not a main package.  The package got created but when I am saving the data
1 I am getting the screen "Create DataSource for Transactn data YBW1" where YBW1 is my data source name.
    2. The message in the screen reads as "Customer object TABLZOXD30092 cannot be assigned to package RSUM"
I don't understand why is it saying ".... cannot be assigned to package RSUM" when the name of my package is zcss
    3. However I hit on the continue button then the screen "Create Object Directory Entry" screen opened and in the Package box RSUM appears.
4.I have deleted RSUM and entered ZCSS and when I hit on the save button I am getting the screen “Create Object Directory Entry” with the message “Cannot extend package ZCSS”
    5. I had cancelled the above screen and then I get message "Customer object TABLZOXD30092 cannot be assigned to package RSUM"
Can any one please explain me how to create this package while going for generic extraction using views?
Your help will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    TR.

    Hi
When you create a Development Class make sure the
Transport Layer is pointing to your DEV system.
If it does not then you create a non transport Class.
You can go to SE80 and load your newly created Class
and make sure it is pointing to your DEV sys.

    Hi,
I didn't find any related articles, so I've decided to start work on one:

Looking for any input (especially about Fedora/RPM). Even telling me such an article would be useless.

Interesting you should post this today.  I just started working on 'porting' makepkg to debian (makedeb).  My goal as described here is to have a tool that can turn something very much like a PKGBUILD (DEBBUILD, RPMBUILD) into a package for those distros.
My approach will currently run only on the target distro.  So perhaps this is a bit of the inverse of your method (me using arch PKGBUILDs in debian to make a .deb rather than you using a tool in archlinux to make a .deb).
I have a bit of a "proof of concept" example that works as intended here and I've now modified the actual makepkg script from pacman to create a full featured (but yet untested) makedeb script.
I'd love to have a tool to make fully compatible .deb or .rpm packages from within archlinux, but I know very little about those packaging standards, and had grown a bit frustrated with their (lack of and/or confusing) documentation while I was trying figure it out.

  • Running a Repair for Office 2010 via SCCM 2012

    Hello,
We have come into a bit of an issue. We're attempting to deploy & install Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010, however it fails, after some research it looks like it works if we run a repair on Microsoft Office.
Is there anyway we can do this via SCCM? because we need to run a repair on 5000 machines.
    Any ideas?
    Jay

Take a look at the following.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/75d50085-28b4-400b-97d4-77203c173352/repairremove-office-2010-silently
Only caveat is it states 'Make sure that no Office applications are running when you try to repair/remove Office 2010.'  Not sure how you would control that in the real world.

  • IMac creating VPN for ATV 2 via Internet Sharing...

Apologies for the complex nature of this problem/question. Any guidance you (the great and the good of the Apple eco-system) can offer will be gratefully received.
First up, most of what I set out below works fine. Or should I say, it all works fine, but intermittently fails on me. And I realise it's possibly a 'home network configuration' issue, but I'd still appreciate someone with the requisite skills checking this over....
The following feature in my set up, all running latest software versions:
    1. a late 2012 iMac running Mountain Lion.
    2. an Apple TV 2.
    3. a first generation Time Capsule.
    4. a Strong VPN account.
    5. an ADSL modem / router.
    As it stands:
the Time Capsule is connected to the ADSL modem via Ethernet.
the ADSL modem / router is configured as DHCP.
the ADSL modem / router is configured to provide a 802.11g network - SLOWNET
the Time Capsule is configured in Bridge mode.
the Time Capsule is configured to provide a 802.11n WiFi network - FASTNET
the iMac is connected to the Time Capsule via Ethernet.
the iMac is configured to establish a VPN connection.
the iMac is configured to create a WiFi network - VPNNET
the VPN connection is shared using 'Internet Sharing' to users of VPNNET.
    Apple TV connects to VPNNET.
All works, and all is well. EXCEPT:
    1. regularly ATV loses the connection to VPNNET, usually when it (ATV) hasn't been used for a while, hence VPNNET likely to have been disconnected / reconnected since ATV last accessed it. Having lost the network connection, it can take over one hour to get it back. Sometimes it can't see VPNNET, sometimes it connects but can't see the Internet - and occasionally  I've changed DNS server address in ATV to Google (8.8.8.8) and it kicked it back into life.
    2. Home Sharing on ATV doesn't work when it's connected to VPNNET - I have to connect to FASTNET to get it to work.
So the questions I have are:
    1. How should DHCP be set up on my network, Time Capsule, modem / router, doesn't matter? What about on the iMac for VPNNET?
    2. Is there a way to configure the above kit, and have the VPN and Home Sharing working at the same time?
    3. Where / How should DNS be configured in my set up?
As I write this down I'm forced to  acknowledge just how involved it is, and don't hold out much hope of someone coming along with a simple "change these settings and problem over" solution - but I can live in hope!
Thanks for reading to the end.

  • Deploying Lync 2010 client via SCCM

I am trying to distribute the new Lync client via SCCM (SCCM is not the problem here, this related to any software distribution product).
I am getting frustrated at the way the new client has been packaged - LyncSetupEval.exe in particular. Why can't Microsoft provide a simple MSI file?
I can run the LyncSetupEval.exe file with /Install /Silent, but this managed to crash OUTLOOK.exe when it runs. Also when it completes, it automatically starts communicator.exe in the SYSTEM context, meaning that unless you restart your machine, you
cannot run the Lync client in the user context.
Is anyone else having the same frustrations? I've played around with the files in the OCSetup directory, but there are of no use.

    Hi Ryan,
Happy to share. I do a simple messy batch file / VB Script combination like this:
    @echo off
    ECHO Set wshShell = CreateObject( "WScript.Shell" ) >> usermessages.vbs
echo wshShell.Popup "The Microsoft Lync 2010 client is about to be installed.  Please close Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer before clicking OK to continue.", 300, "Microsoft Lync 2010 installation" >> usermessages.vbs
    ECHO WScript.Sleep(5000) >> usermessages.vbs
    WSCRIPT.EXE usermessages.vbs
    DEL usermessages.vbs /q
    ECHO Installing Microsoft Lync 2010...
    taskkill /F /IM communicator.exe
    taskkill /F /IM outlook.exe
    taskkill /F /IM iexplore.exe
    LyncSetup.exe /Install /Silent
    taskkill /F /IM communicator.exe
    msiexec.exe /p OUTLOOK.msp /qb-!
    office2007-kb936864-fullfile-x86-en-us.exe /passive /norestart
    msiexec.exe /update Lync.msp /qb-!
    ECHO Set wshShell = CreateObject( "WScript.Shell" ) >> usermessages.vbs
echo wshShell.Popup "The Microsoft Lync 2010 client installation was successful and can now be run from the Start Menu.", 300, "Microsoft Lync 2010 installation" >> usermessages.vbs
    WSCRIPT.EXE usermessages.vbs
    DEL usermessages.vbs /q
I'm sure it could be a lot nicer, there is no error passing or anything but it has served me well.

  • Manual formatted for C: and D: drive Via SCCM 2012 task sequence

    Dear All
i have a problem with the formatting of the HDD by using SCCM 2012 , our Co. have laptops with C: &
D: drive and we started to implement our W7 migration by using SCCM 2012 and we face the a problem which is how to keep the data of the D drive either during the deploy the new W 7 image our after we deployed the image with C and D drive .
we create a task sequence to format the whole HDD and then make two partition .
but our target to keep the old users data in D: drive in case of system crash .
so can we do the format issue manually via  task sequence to can control the size of the HDD and just
    format the C: drive
i read in internet there is a Disk partition script can be apply during the task sequence activity to control
    the formate issue.
or to stop the formatte issue for D: drive via SCCM.

    Dear  EminM
    thanks
    for your replay
you are right i mean the laptop has C and D partition
we make a TS which was  configure to crate two partition
After we complete our Task sequence we face problem that TS format the two partition and that mean  we will loss the data in D partition in case we need to apply this TS in the future to any laptop has system crash .
our target to have TS just format the C partition and leave the D partition without any action to be able to save the data in the D partition without any corrupted.
for that do you have an idea to do that TS .

  • NDES/SCEP for MDM via SCCM & Intune

We've recently deployed a NDES/SCEP server for certificate distribution via SCCM & Intune.
Can a single NDES server be used to deploy certificates from two templates (for example user and machine certificates)? Or do we need an additional NDES server for each template?

User or computer authentication is not an issue here - from the perspective of the SCEP servers these are all anonymous requests not tied to AD users or computers anyway.
The distinction - if the SCEP client can provide this - would be the key usages in the certificate signing request.
All these applications use certificates for signing but often certificates for signature + encryption are used. Standards here are often not very clear and applications don't handle that consistently.
I would rather not rely on a separation by key usages because you never know what happens with the next OS version, the next update of the SCEP client, the wireless client, if the SCEP client allows for submitting proper key usages.
Using three different URLs would be a robust separation.

  • Want to redistribute application via SCCM - no luck

    Hi all
I have distributed an MSI package to client successfully via SCCM 2012 R2. Now the developers want to distribute an updated MSI package (added a few things in the MSI) but still want to distibute the MSI with the same name.
I have tried different methods with no result.this is how we do it right now:
MSI gets distributed to client (Master laptop) and put in a specific folder C:\updater, other units (laptops) are then contacting the Master Laptop to download the MSI from the updater folder and installing it locally on Laptop. This part works just fine.
The problem arises when developers want to send updates to the Master Laptop with the same MSI name. This fails, the client does not download the updated package, nor does it delete the package in the Updater folder. Until now the only solution I have to the
problem is to ask for a updated package with a different name, but would like to determine if there is a solution to this specific problem.
    Any suggestions are welcome.

Like Jeff said is this a package or application?
What is in the relevant log files?
execmgr.log on the client for a package and appenforce.log if an application.
"nor does it delete the package in the Updater folder"
Is the installation running? - log info.
If the MSI has not been authored correctly it will not remove the old data.
Is the new MSI created as a Major upgrade?
Take configuration manager out of the equation, it's just a delivery system (an amazing one at that)
run the installation under the system account locally on a workstation with verbose logging and check the contents of the log file in windows\temp.
    http://richardbalsley.com/a-simple-tip-to-test-software-installation-using-the-local-system-account
Might be easier to uninstall the exising MSI then send out the new one, you could have a single wrapper batch file that does this under a single deployment.

  • Creation of Add-on package for 64 bit and 32 bit SAP Business One Client

Please help me creating package for 64 bit and 32 bit SAP Business One. If Add-on executable is compiled with x86 option then there is no issue of connecting Add-on with 32 bit SAP Business one and if Add-on executable is compiled with Any CPU option then there is no issue of connecting Add-on with 64 bit SAP Business one. Problems are mentioned as below
    1. My Add-on uses MS ACCESS connection and the connection is read using Jet OLEDB 4.0 provider. It works fine for x86 compile mode but not when compile mode is Any CPU. I searched for the issue on Google and found a solution to change MS ACCESS connection provider to ACE.OLEDB.12.0 but again ACE provider is installed according to the Office version i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit office suite. If I install 32 bit ACE provider then Add-on executable compiled with x86 version is working fine but with Any CPU option throws error as provider is not registered on current machine.
    2. Secodly, our license validation activex dll is build using vb 6.0 and therefore when Add-on executable is compiled using Any CPU option, Add-on EXE cannot read from license dll. Any suggestion, how the activeX dll can be compiled whose component can be created from for X86 compiled exe and any cpu compiled exe.
Please help because we are stuck in this issue and cannot move forward.
    Thanks.

    Hi Alejandro,
That is one solution but did your add on used ms access connection? if you used Jet oledb to connection string or ace oledb connection string? what if 32 bit office is installed and what if 64 office is installed? how did you found the office version in install script? after determining the office version how did you installed Microsoft redistributable for ace oledb (32 bit or 64 bi )?
I am sorry that I asked many questions but these are the problems where I am stuck with the addon installer?
    Thanks

  • Packaging for other distros

    Hi all,
Does anyone create packages for other linux distros exclusively on Arch?
I use cmake's cpack functionality to create windows installers, debs, rpms, and source packages (all on Arch).  I've been able able so far to also make debian repos also.  Lately I've been trying to see if it's even possible to make PPA's on Arch, but all the tutorials I've come across requires Ubuntu's debuild tool? Has anyone ever tried to do PPA's on Arch?

PirateJonno wrote:Not sure if this is relevant, but I use Arch to make .deb packages for my n900, inside a chroot. However, I have no idea how the thing is actually set up (there is a script that does it automatically). You might be able to just compile the sources you need, but it could become complicated very quickly.
Could you elaborate on this? I have to make and update .deb packages, but being quite the novice at this sort of thing, I use VirtualBox with Debian in it. If there's a way to do that in Arch, that would be an enormous improvement over the current situation

  • Lync 2013 x64 silent client deployment via SCCM 2012 SP1

    Greetings everyone!
I ran into a problem with Lync 2013 x64 silent deployment.
I need to provide every workstation with Lync 2013 client, so i decided to use deployment via SCCM 2012 sp1.
I created 2 msp files with OCT, one based on x86 Office 2013 Proplus, and other based on x64 Office 2013 Proplus.
Added them as applications to sccm software library.
Deployment of Lync 2013 x86 application was a success with over than 80% compliance.
But all Lync 2013 x64 automatic installations finish with different errors.
I created special device collection for workstations with office 2010 x64 and 2013 x64, because i can't install other architecture products once it has x64 product installed.
My membership query-rules for this collection:
    Office 2013 x64
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE on SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceId
    = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where UPPER(SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.SoftwareCode) = "{90150000-0011-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}"
    Office 2010 x64
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE on SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceId
    = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where UPPER(SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.SoftwareCode) = "{90140000-0011-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}"
My application deployment type points to setup.exe in office 2013 x64 installation folder, where i created msp file in updates folder via OCT and edited config.xml file in proplus.ww folder.
    So my installation program looks like this setup.exe /adminfile updates\1lync.msp /config proplus.ww\config.xml
The same configuration works with Lync 2013 x86 deployment, except other setup folders.
When i try running installation program setup.exe with /adminfile and /config parameters locally, it installs successfully without errors or warnings.
I'm trying to find out problem source, does anyone have ideas what I am doing wrong?
Also i'm trying to reduce office 2013 installation folder size, what subfolders are necessary for Office 2013 proplus installation (still installing only lync with common files and tools)? Because now 3.5 GB package is quite hard to distribute to sccm secondary
    sites with deployment point.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Lync 2013 client deployment via SCCM with silent uninstall of Communicator / Live Meeting / Plugin

    Hi
We are rolling out Lync 2013 across our org to many remote sites and are wondering the best approach for this.
We hope to leverage our SCCM, but so far we've only been installing Lync manually in our local test group.
I noticed that when installing Lync, it doesn't remove Communicator, Live Meeting, or the Live Meeting plugin for Outlook though.
Ideally, we would want to be able to push Lync 2013 client (standalone version, not Office 2013 Suite) via SCCM as well as uninstall Communicator 2007 R2, Live Meeting 2007 and Conferencing Add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook, all silently. Whether this
can be done while the user is logged in and using Outlook/Communicator, I am unsure (probably not), so doing this overnight with users logged off but machines on would probably work best.
Is there any documentation / guides from MS or other blog sites that have gone through this same process? From the searching I've done, it doesn't seem to be too common for a large deployment / jump from OCS 2007 to Lync 2013 on-premise.

    Hi,
refer to this article it might help
