Create presenter-notes in Acrobat?

Hi All,
imagine you have created a presentation in an arbitrary application and have exported it as a pdf.
Now say the source-application does not support presenter-notes. Is there a way to create such notes which are only seen by the speaker
but not by the audience inside Acrobat? And is there a screenmode available in Acrobat which shows fullscreen on the Beamer and an additional
notes-window on the screen of the presenter?
There seem to be some ways to import existing notes from Powerpoint but I don't plan using this application. Thanks for all input!

There is no "Presenter mode" in Acrobat at this time, and so there is no way to create or view presenter-only notes.
When you convert a PPT/PPTX file to PDF, any slide notes are simply converted into comments.

  • Presenter not in Acrobat X Pro

One of the reasons I bought Acrobat 9 Pro Extended was to get Adobe Presenter. We use it all the time. I also have the CS 5.
Imagine my disappointment that the Adobe marketing people decided to get rid of Pro Extended for version X and require me to get the Acrobat X Suite if I still want Presenter. At $799, that is not an option! And especially dumb when it would also make me buy yet another copy of PhotoShop CS5, which I already have. (and what does photoshop have to do with Acrobat anyway?)
Did they talk to customers about this? Have they considered people like me?
It certainly seems to be discouraging the use of Presenter! I will have to look for another option.

The program used to create this object is acrobat. that program is either not installed or its nor responding.
to edit this object, install Acrobat or ensure that any dialog boxes in Acrobat are closed.
I have just installed acrobat Pro XI . when inserting an existing adove file as an object this happens. any ideas?

OLE Embedded Objects seem to have problems with PDF files.   I am not sure if it's OLE or if it's the OLE server (Acrobat/Reader) installed on the machine in this case.  Does this file work on another machine with Acrobat/Reader installed.

  • Can not include Acrobat X in my CS6 Depoyment package

When I try to create a CS6 deployment that includes Acrobat X using AAMEE 3.1 the resulting installation does not have Acrobat included. I am tried removing anything Adobe from my PC except AAMEE, also tried on a different PC that has never had any Adobe products installed and got the same result. When the deployment is finished building I look in the payload directory and Acrobat is not mentioned so it is not being included dispite the fact I have checked the box to include it. It does install if I just run the full install manually from the installion media. ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When you create the Package for the deployment via AAMEE 3.1 then there are 2 folders created.
    1) Builds
    2) Exceptions
Look under the exceptions folder to find the MSI file for Acrobat, the command to run the Acrobat installation is present in the Text fiel in the same folder.

  • Odd Acrobat Problem - Fill Boxes in Indd show in Preview, not in Acrobat

    HELP!
I've never seen this before. I often use InDesign to create presentations. I set a master page with a black background, then do my document and print to PDF and show as slides/full page preview.
Yesterday I followed all my normal steps and the black boxes set as background on the master page didn't print. I removed them and added them to the page itself, didn't work. I finally had to create a black box in illustrator and copy it into InDesign to get it to work properly. I have no idea.
The weirder thing: the black box shows up in Apple Preview but not in Acrobat.
    HELP. I am running 10.5.3 and CS3

Search and delete these two files:
    com.adobe.acrobat.80.sh.plist
    com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro_ppc_8.0.plist
And see how it works for you. You'll need to reset your preferences when done.
Just had that same issue this week with a gray box on a master page. It was visible in Reader 8, Preview and all older versions of Reader or Acrobat but not Acrobat 8.

  • AAMEE packaged suites are not including Acrobat Professional X

I've been using the AAMEE tool to package all of our CS5 and CS6 media.  Overall, I haven't had many issues.
Unfortunately, an end-user has noticed that our larger suites (Design and Web Premium CS6, Master Collection CS6) are not installing Acrobat X Professional. All other applications from these suites are installed and in work without a hitch.
I repackaged the software to ensure I didn't accidentally uncheck the box to include Acrobat.  I am definitely requesting the AAMEE software to include Acrobat.
Additioanlly, I'm noticing that the payloads in the created package don't even include Acrobat (although they are included in the downloaded media), so it's no surprise the MSI file is not installing the product.
I am package the software using AAMEE 3.1.108.  No errors in the installation log.
    I appreciate any insight!

    Hi,
The reason acrobat is not getting installed is because the Acrobat is not the part of the main MSI. The acrobat goes in the Exceptions folder of the AAMEE created package and that needs to be installed separately using the exception deployer Application (XDA). The exceptionDeployer.exe is also present in the exceptions folder. You need to invoke it in pre mode for Acrobat installation, then install the main MSI and then invoke ExceptionDeployer.exe once again in post mode to install remaining exceptions. The documentation of Exception deployer is present at http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/creativesuite/pdfs/Ad obeExceptionsDeployer.pdf . Please go through this once to see the exact command line to be used for Acrobat installation and for other exceptions too.
Feel free to revert back in case you see some issue.

    Hi Rachit
You answered my doubt. This one really works . Thanks a lot !
But i have one more doubt i.e if have created the Presentation variable in the dashboard prompt and I want to use it in a report
i.e the scenario is If I have created a new column i.e " Revised Salary " in the Presentation Services and want the values to be entered there dynamically upon end users choice. For ex the end user selecrts value of 1 then the report would display an increament of 500 to all the employees in the " Revised Salary " column and if the end user select value of 2 .. the report would display a decrement of 500 in the " Revised salary column".
I am getting the following error :

Please NOTE : The column on which I want to do an increament is : "F1 Revenue"."1-01 Revenue (Sum All)"

  • Is it possible to keep the outline auto formatting from Pages when copying and pasting that outline to the Presenter Notes on Keynote?

I have been using my iPad for my notes, but I want to start using it as a remote for my macbook. When I copy and paste the notes into the Presenter Notes section of Keynote on the macbook, it unformatted. Any bullet point formatting that I do on my macbook is not showing on my iPad's Remote view Presenter Notes. Is there a way to create consistency here that does not involved formatting each one separately?

    Use Drag and Drop
Have both applications open side by side
    select the text in Pages
with the mouse drag the text from pages into presenter Notes pane in Keynote

  • How do I create  a PDF using Acrobat 7.0 in Windows 8 from a Visio drawing on a 64-bit system

I used to be able to create a PDF using Acrobat 7.0 from a Visio drawing in XP. Now I'm running a 64-bit system, no Adobe printer can be installed, and it is unsupported.  Help?

On a 32-bit system, there is a workaround. I do not think it is possible to get AA7 to work on a 64-bit system (no one has reported success and only 1 has suggested success with AA8). You may be able to print to a PS file and then open that in Distiller. I suspect that is the only way and you will have to find a decent PS printer driver to do it. I suspect the printer driver (and associated AcroTray) will not work in a 64-bit Win8 -- Acrobat and Distiller may.

Created PDF form in Acrobat XI Pro, but HELP fields disappear when I save FCDT file to PDF. Please help. Thanks!

I am not aware of a field type "Help" within a PDF form. I do not see it as a form field that can be added in the form edit mode.
Forms Central forms do not support all the features of Acrobat forms.
Are you talking about the "Tool Tips" or a hidden field that only shows when one enters a field and is hidden upon exiting the field.

  • How to save Fillable PDF form created in XI - So Acrobat Reader can fill out and send back

Hi, Im extremely hopeful someone can help me with this question, Ive had extreme luck with this question site, you have all been amazing.
I have created a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat XI and I have saved my work and Im ready to send the form to my client.
I have been told that I need to save my file in a manner that the general public that does not have Acrobat XI, and mainly has acrobat reader, will be able to open, fill my form out, and send back to me completed.
    How do I do this.
Ive run a couple tests with coworker and its not allowing the saving of the information that she filled out.
Does anyone know how I need to save and distribute this form so I get it back filled out from my clients? that probably have only reader?
thanks in advance for your help.
    Amy

I think I figured this out???? My pdf tester has gone to bed, so hopefully I will know by morning if this is my solution......
Open the PDF in Acrobat XI (the form you have saved that is ready to be filled out to whoever you distribute the form to).
Choose Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader (Acrobat 8/9) (if you have XI do not do this step, but do step 4 for XI)
    or
File > Save As >Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features (Acrobat X) (Its actually not in save as, but in save as other)
Save the PDF using a different file name, you will be using this new file to be the file you will distribute.
When you now open the PDF in Adobe Reader you will be able to fill the form and save the data and then send it back to the author that is requesting the form to be filled out.

  • Digital Signature not allowed Acrobat 9.5.2

I created a form in Acrobat Pro and saved with extended functions. I'm using Acrobat Standard 9.5.2 which allows me to add digital signature. Most other employees can add signatures as well. However, there are a couple (using the same version software above) that when they open the file the security for digital signature is set to "Not Allowed". When I open the same document signatures are allowed. Therefore, is appears their software settings is setup differently than everyone elses. Can you help identify which setting needs to be changed?

    Classification: For internal use only
I can't attach images at this point. The security method for both is No
Security. However, on the other user computer next to signature it states Not
Allowed. However, when they open the same form they see an error on top that
does not show up when I open the same form. The error message is, 'At least
one signature has problems. Please fill out the following form. You cannot
save data typed into this form. Please print your completed for if you would
like a copy for your records'. However, when I open the same for I do not get
that message. It almost seems like a security setting within their reader or
    not.

  • Creating forms in Adobe Acrobat 8

When I create a form in Adobe Acrobat, I get numbers on the sheet.  Numbers at fields for data to be entered but also numbers in areas were data can not be edited.  When I print out the pdf, the numbers are there, I can not select them.   Anyone know the feature I am refering to?

There are too many variables you have left out, including the version of AA8, now at AA8.2.2. It may be that you just need to update Acrobat, but that is not a sure thing. Did you create the form in Acrobat or in Designer? Did you preset information in the form fields? Was the basic form created with another application and you are just trying to add the fields (the normal way to create a form in Acrobat -- NOT from scratch)? To answer your question, I don't have a clue what you are talking about.

  • Troubles creating a form with Acrobat

I have created a form with Acrobat 9 Pro. However, when it is brought up with Acrobat Reader, the following message appears:
Sending data files by email: Please note, this form contains an email submit button. Clicking this button will email a data file... However, the form itself will not be sent. Remember you cannot save a complete file of this form with Adobe Reader 9.
When the submit button is clicked, the following message is posted on a popup window.
    Operation not permitted.
Here's the link to a form I am trying to get to work. It works fine if I use the Pro version, but the Reader version doesn't want to allow the form to be sent. http://www.drugfreedekalbcounty.info/pdf/interventionscholarshipform.pdf
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It may have been improved with AA9, but at least up through AA8, Acrobat required the use of MAPI on the machine to deal with e-mail. If that has changed, then the other recommendation to use extended rights might meet your need. There is a 500 use limitation for the extended rights (more requires negotiation with Adobe). This may be a limitation that changed with AA9 Pro Extended.
The rights are not needed if the data file is sent and not the whole PDF. There is no need for the whole PDF since the data file can be opened in the original form document - giving the same result. Your observation that it works in AA9 for e-mail is making the assumption that everyone uses AA9. That is a dangerous assumption if you are developing a general use form. You should assume folks have back to AA7, or even AA5 (like I have on this machine). There are still a few that check in here on occasions with AA4. I have not seen an AA3 question for several years. Thus backward compatibility may be an issue, depending on your client base.
The cleanest way to work with forms is to submit to a web script. Then there is no question about the end result. The use of web scripts is even recommended for online html forms for much the same reasons. I was giving a heads up so that you have considered possible users that do not have the newest and best, assuming that the latter resolves the e-mail issue.

  • Creating a survey in acrobat, processing on hard copy, and data compiling via Acrobat scanning

    Hi there,
I am new to creating PDF forms using Acrobat Pro 9. I have been asked by my manager to sort out a way we can create a survey (for staff)and have the data input to the survey, processed and compiled ready for an analyst to create a report of the data.
Basically, this is a survey of staff by staff, anonymous and to be completed on hard copy (Printed PDF with survey template).
So, I have started to think about the best way to go about this, can I create a survey in Acrobat, print it, fill out the multiple choice questions, scan it in Adobe, and allow acrobat to gather the data?
Personally I would like to use Acrobat (as I am enjoying learning it), but is this the right tool for that job? Is there a feature that enables multiple choice surveys to be created, printed, filled out, scanned again (with answers filled in), and compiles the data?
I hope I have explained that clear enough...;-)
    Kind regards
    Kevin

By itself Acrobat does not "compile data".
By the way nothing compiles data from a picture. All scanners output a picture of the scanned paper (that is, an image file such as TIFF).
Acrobat can perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) of the picture of text.
The OCR output is the characters - no format, tables, rows, columns, no text styling, etc.
So harvesting useful information can pose something of a challenge.
You may want to consider manually compiling the results.
    Be well...
