Create/ run MDX script on Essbase from FDM

Hi there,
Can anybody help me by creating and executing an MDX query from an import script in FDM?
I've managed to create and run a report script on Essbase but the larger the cube the slower the report script.
Therefore i was thinking about MDX.
But before trying for days myself i was hoping someone might have experience in this and is willing to share.

Bob, I'm trying to do the same thing (create a .app to launch a unix application) and I also ran into the aesthetic issue of the spinning gear in the menu bar for the entire time the app was running. Since the unix app I'm running is a Usenet news reader, that spinning gear would be a long-term distraction. I'll check out Platypus, but I and probably the others in this thread are trying to learn how to do this stuff ourselves to further our OS X knowledge, not merely to solve this one problem.
So with that being said, does anyone know if there's a way to create an Automator "Run Shell Script" action with that spinning gear in the menu bar suppressed? You know, besides using Platypus.

Running the Scripts of Essbase in Server rather than in Client

We have Scripts which run for different Loads like INK/TONER/FAST etc. The Essbase Version we use is 11.1.2.2.
The content of the Scripts are as below.

To run the above Script the User will install the Essbase Client in his PC and startEsscmd.cmd is executed as they will map the Folder to their PC using U Drive Version. This folder exists in Server.
Now the requirement is to change the Script running with User depending on Essbase Client. We need change the Script to run in Server itself when the users runs the script.
I want to execute this StartEsscmd.bat with the one available in Server as the below one
call F:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\EssbaseServer\essbaseserver1\bin\startEsscmd.bat U:\FAST\sub\sub\Ink_Assumpt_Extract.cmd . Rather than users installing Client.
Is this how we can make the script to run in Server itself. Or any other process. Please help on this.

Hello Experts,
These batch scripts are dependent on Informatica Environment as well. Once all the Essbase batch files runs there will be data files in DAT Folder and using the timestamp of current month these data files will be send to Informatica Env and there one Job runs which will convert all the .OUT files into a .DAT file and load into DB. Its the Process.
Now we cant change the entire process but need to get rid of Essbase Client dependency.
All i want to know is if we change the path of the files from
call C:\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseClient\bin\startEsscmd.bat
to
call F:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\EssbaseServer\essbaseserver1\bin\startEsscmd.bat
or
call %ARBORTPATH%\bin\startEsscmd.bat
will the files runs in server side. I tried with this but getting an error saying
System cannot find the path specified. Please help.

Running photoshop script or action from Bridge

My general question is: is there a way to select a number of files in Bridge, then run a script on all of them? I'm interested in this regardless of whether it really answers my more specific question.
My more specific need is: I want to be able to convert raw files to jpeg, using automatic camera raw settings, by selecting the files in Bridge and running a single script.

I have a slight change to this question.
I make changes to photos in Camera RAW (exposure, white bal, etc.)and save the changes.
I have an action that I run from Bridge by selecting individual photos, running an action from Bridge using Batch. The action opens each .CR2 selected photo, resizes it, and saves as a jpg in another folder.
For some reason, the saved photos are not reflecting the changes I made in Camera Raw.
I constructed the action by recording the opening from Bridge into Camera Raw, and then clicking Open Image.
The action applies all the custom settings I used in the initial image when recording the action to each photo.
Any suggestions on how to solve the problem.

Run bash script other than from terminal?

Hi,
I have a small 2 line script that runs an application...I want to create an icon to double-click to run the 2 lines and start the app, so I don't have to open Terminal and type the 2 lines.
I've used Automator to create an app to do this, but in the task bar I see "run shell script" and the rotating wheel-thingy the whole time the app is open.
Is there any way to create a script/app to do this without having "run shell script" and the rotating wheel-thingy going on?

What's the right way to run a consolidation in HFM from FDM?

New to FDM. Things are working ok, but wondering what's the best way to run a consolidation in HFM after loading.

You need to create a validation entity.
On the validation entity, make sure you click the Consolidate check box. Then in integration settings, click Enable Consolidation. You need to also turn on the Force Calculate option. If this is a multicurrency app and you want translation to run, also enable the Force Translate option of the adaptor.

OK.. I was under the impression that u have a script ready :)
Now u different way's to implement.
1.If it's an application which has a login page url,u can monitor URL from OEM with HTTP ping
2.U can have a job where it will check for process using ps -ef and set that job will fail if it doesn't get N no.of processes somthing like that.

How to run a script after resume from disk in pm-utils

When I use pm-hibernate, I have a few scripts that I would like to run upon de-thawing. At the moment, all I want to do is module-related: I want to remove the pcskpr mod (which I have blacklisted in my rc.conf MODULES array, but HAL loads it upon thawing) and reprobe the ath9k mod (wireless doesn't work until I modprobe it).
I see that you can insert your own hooks for pm-utils, but when are they run? I need my script to run after HAL has its way with my module-probing/loading and I'm not getting a clear impression that this is the case. If not, then what other options exist?

It is usually a bad idea to do any major processing directly within a JSP. It is better to create a helper class and invoke methods on that. This helper class can then be tested outside of the inhospitable JSP environment.
To run the '.ksh' file you will need to use either Runtime.exec() or the more modern ProcessBuilder. You will save yourself a lot of grief if you read thoroughly the 4 sections of http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html and then implement the recommendations.
Note - although the 'traps' article is written around the use of Runtime.exec(), it's content is equally applicable to ProcessBuilder.

Have you tried using the import option on the ACS? You can put all your accounts in a csv file and upload it into the ASA.

Data access error while running the script in fdm workbench script editor

I have been getting the error when i run the script in script editor of fdqm workbench client.this is the error
                          -2147467259 Data access error and it is navigating the error at line 30 about this script "Set rsAppend = DW.DataAccess.farsTable(strWorkTableName)"
Please revert me asap where i should load the data from peoplesoft to one of my planning database through fdm.

Thanks for your suggestion's here i am going to run the datapump script so while i am running in workbench it is throwing data access error.So as you guy's suggested i created one import format and added this script to that import format which is added to one of my location even it is throwing the same error.I am getting the error at this sentence   "strWorkTableName" I want to know what is this where it reflect's?So my question is Is there any difference while running data pump or integration script.Please let me know a detailed navigation steps to run this script's with out data access error to run these kind of scripts.

So far, you haven't specified your rdbms version and isqlplus behaved differently on a 9iR1, 9iR2 from the one release on 10gR1/R2. on 9i it was a servlet based on a JServ servlet executor machine, meanwhile on 10g it is a J2EE compliant application deployed on an OC4J container, so configuration is different.

You can modify the script to use COM. For example, when the script is run in AI, there is an assumed application object - you can just use the members of the Application object without having an explicit Application variable. To do this in a standalone javascript, create a Illustrator.Application object:

You would do something similar for any object that would otherwise need to be created with new. You can get a list in the the registry - HKCR\Illustrator.*
Note that .length and collection[i] don't work when you do this. Use .count instead of .length. You need to use Enumerators:

MS SQL database needs to run mdx query to analysis services to retrieve data from a BPC 10 Netweaver cube(view only)

We are in the process of migrating from BPC7 SP12 Microsoft sql server to BPC10 netweaver on a sql server with BW7.4 and need to integrate our home grown data warehouse which is on a Microsoft sql server. The data warehouse currently connects to BPC7 using integration services/analysis services and runs mdx queries to analysis services to retrieve data from the BPC7 cube (view only). Please provide documentation on how to create this same integration with our data warehouse using BPC10 netweaver on a sql server.

didn't understand at first glance.Yes I clicked on the options button, but the only thing there is dealing with file extensions. I left it set to the default.
I have since tried closing my connection after I insert a record, I then try executeQuery, but still no luck. Seems strange that I can write to the file but not read from it. If any thing I'd expect the opposite problem.
I have also tried using the class "JoltReport" from the sun tutorial instead of my own with the same result.

OBIEE 11g write back to Essbase and run calc script feature

Hi,
I have a requirement to write back into Essbase Cube and run calc script from OBIEE dashboard.
From what i have search on google, we must deploy additional Java Script into weblogic, but that is before OBIEE 11.1.1.6.
I have 2 question:
- Does OBIEE 11.1.1.6 already supported native write-back to Essbase and running calcscript?
- Anyone has example of the custom java-script for write back and running calcscript?
And another, if there are requirement like this, is it better to install Essbase Add-in on Microsoft Excel and do the what-if analysis there, then just display the report on OBIEE dashboard? (based on user-friendliness and the complexity on maintenance)

Even I am trying to achieve the same thing as you have mentioned but think that it is not possible to achieve easily in obiee 11.1.1.6, though we do have a work around to perform a writeback in Essbase cube using JAPI as mentioned below.
Also we can call Hyperion reports from OBIEE using Action Links and also pass parameters to the same but dont know if it runs calculation script.
