Hi,
How can i create a simple arrow, do i have to use Line2D and GeneralPath?
Appreciate if you could give me an example.

Just my opinion: if your code works, you should perhaps post it as an end to the thread. This way, other people in the same need will find it fast.

Creating a iMovie with movies and slideshows

I am going to be creating a farewell DVD for some friends. I would like to have both slideshows from various events along with movies from these same events play on the DVD.
If I'm thinking correctly, I basically want to create slideshows from the various events and then insert those into the iMovie around the movies of the same event.
Can someone tell me if I'm heading the right direction? I have two weeks to do this, but I'd like to make sure I'm heading down the right road, or if there's a better way to do it, I would like to know.
Also, what is the best way to insert audio (music) into the slide show part? Is this done in iMovie or iPhoto?

Add the music in iMovie.
There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto (see this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2423 ), iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:

(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico: http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast, for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!

Drag and rotate with multi touch

i want to drag and rotate an imageview by using two fingers which will make the image look like a real object. I am able to move and rotate it,but at different time. I want to do it simultaneously. i think this can be done by calculating the angle between touches and then deciding the gesture and move and rotate accordingly. But can make out how to do it?

I need to create Quick time vr movies, and I need to know the exact sequance of steeps to do it, and if the starting point I use is correct.
1) I shooted a sequence of photos with my digital camera (for example: www.stebianchi.com/quicktimevrhelp/still-photo.jpg).
2) Then, with photoshop (CS4) I choose: Automate/photomerge and I select all them to joint them in a bigger 360° panoramic one (www.stebianchi.com/quicktimevrhelp/pan.jpg). If, untill here, all is correct, the first question: in photoshop Photomerge layout option, do I have to choose one voice "auto, perspective, cylindrical, spherical, etc..." rather than anoter one of these?
3) from here, I really need your help.
First of all: the great doubt:
My photos can not cover a spherical panorama, they're only a "ring" around a center (and not a spherical texture). To cover all the surface (or almost all, ok...) of my ambient, do I have to use a wider lens on my camera or there is a different solution (for ex a vertical photomerge?).
4) Done this, I think I shuold buy a software like Cubic converter, to set and export the QTVR movie. Right?

You can call your local apple store(find one on the home page of apple.com) and they will give you instructions how to convert DVD to iPod. That is what they told me, but from what I heard, you may need more than Quicktime Pro. Just call and ask them, because if you make a manual of how to do it, it could help me a lot.
(I'm looking for a good DVD converter, already know some, beside the internet download ones)

Will my movie continue to keep "creating my 1080 hd movie" if I shutdown my iMac?

My movie started out saying it would take 33 hours to finish creating my 1080p HD movie and I put it in sleep mode for a few hours and came back now it's down to 27. So would I be able to completely shut down my iMac? Or do I have to leave it in sleep or on until it's done? It gets really hot when it's on so I don't wanna do that... Help!?!

If you shut it down in mid-project you will have to start again!

Film loops and rotation

I have a character that is seen from the top and I can move
and rotate it - as long as it is a single image. However, I've put
together a 4 frame film loop and the film loop won't rotate. Is
there any way to do that - rotate a film loop? Can I get at the
sprites in the film loop instead? I can use an animated gif but the
line quality is a bit rubbish. Would a small linked movie be
controllable? Any other suggestions?

You can get access to any of the loop's sprites through the
loop-sprite's movie property. Assuming you used sprite channel 1
for your 4 frame loop, then the following behavior will rotate
those sprites inside the film loop.

end
In the property inspector select the "Film Loop" tab for your
film loop member and select the "Crop" and "Center" radio buttons.
This will enable you to resize the film loop sprite to fix any
cropping issues.
Note: This will also work for LDMs - Linked Director Movies,
if you want to use these "Loops" across multiple movies.

This is why I think I need to.
My computer got hit by lightening, and I may have created a new user account through netinfo rather than system preferences /accounts/+user. Mail used to open twice, but no longer. Now, Safari askes me for my keychain password twice, Spotlight can't find a folder on the computer when the search is restricted to folder and computer, though the folder is there and easyfind finds it, and when System Preferences/Spotlight/Privacy has the hard drive icon added, then deleted, Spotlight still does not find anything. (Yes, everything is backed up, on CD, DVD, and online.) Microsoft Tec Support says

I believe Microsoft. So, creating a new user was easy.
But copying files uses up too much hard drive (movies, music), and may miss keychains, preferences, mail, address book, and documents. Since Spotlight no longer works, who knows what is happening. (Yes, I've repaired persmissions, and disk repair. No change). I'm using up my hard drive trying to move files to the new user. If I share files, or put them into a public folder, then delete the old user, will I still have the old user's files in the new user's account? It is not clear to me what I should be trying to do in order to create a new user, move my old files etc over, and delete old user. Thanks.
My responses will be slow, because I have to drive to town to use the internet. I've ordered a new airport which may take care of that problem. SO be patient.

I need to do the EXACT same thing, but have no idea how. Has anyone out there done this?
My situation is a tad different..this is a new Mac (and I'm a brand new Mac user). Tons of querks occur under my original account (videos won't run, Safari won't support certain plug-ins). I spent 6 hours on the phone w/ 4 different Apple Reps and nobody could fix it. A rep finally looked at my MacBook Pro in person today. He created a new account just to see if that would work and under that new account, everything works perfectly fine (no querks, can view video). He tried switching a million settings in my original account to no avail.
He said to create a new account (as he did) and move my files over to the new account and then go back to the original and delete it. How do you do this?! I can't figure it out! I've got a new account created, but of course it just has the default folders in it w/ the little red icons next to them! Thanks in advance!

How to Create a simple report with headers and repetitive details

I have been trying to do a report through PLD with a query that accept a parameter and has been saved into a Query category of the Query Manager. The Problem that i have encountered is that though i wish to have some of my fields into the Report's Page Header Area, i may not able to move it from Repetitive Area1 Area.
I tried creating a field of database and tried linking it with Table but only the First Record details of my table gets displayed in that field irrespective of the parameters i provide.

The 'T0.' and 'T1.' can be avoided as you say...
The resultset would contain same values for fields of Table1 and the different values of fields of Table2, which means the fields of table1 can be grouped and moved to the header and so it needn't be redundant in the report.
just like resultset,
T0.Field1 T0.Field2 T1.Field1 T1.Field2
1              Henry       Item01     345
1              Henry       Item02     112
1              Henry       Item03     745
As in this resultset above, you can see that fields of T0 that is Table1 can be grouped so that only Fields of T1 that is Table2 need be displayed in repetitive area.

DVD's are only 640 x 480 (interlaced), so yes, the quality is not nearly as good. You should probably create your .mov in DV format to best match the DVD format

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

I must have pressed some other key because the display has become huge - and I can't scroll vertically or horizontally, which makes using the Mail pages of Hotmail impossible. I have since logged in using MSFT Explorer and it works fine. This problem occurs only on the Mail page of Hotmail Live not on the home page or others.
Could you please let me know if this is a problem with Firefox, or if you have any advice on how to reset the appearance of Hotmail in Firefox?

Authentcation .
however my exact requirement is custom service should be accessible without asking the authentication like _vti_bin/Listdata.svc is there any way to do like this ?
