Create Task with C# - App for SharePoint 2013
Hi everyone,
I need to create an app that can manage holiday for my company and we want to sync the demand Holiday with their tasks in Project Server 2013.
Unfortunatly, I cannot find how to add a task with an "App for SharePoint 2013" and in C#.
I've tried to add the task by entering an entry in the Project Server database but unfortunatly, it does not work.
Are there an other way to create task programmatically in Project Server 2013 ?
Thanks by advance,
Patmol
Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to use resource files in your SharePoint app project.
Here is an article for your reference:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/fp179919.aspx
Code sample: SharePoint 2013: Localize the app web, host web, and remote components of an app

Configure an Environment for Apps for SharePoint 2013
hH,
We are building QA environment for Sharepoint 2013. For this my management asked me to configure the APPS store. But when i referred the MSDN article, they are suggesting
" You must purchase a domain name from a domain name provider for your apps, for example, ContosoApps.com."
Which is not possible in my case as purchasing a new domain requires lot of approvals also this is an QA environment.
So please suggest on the below points
1) whats wrong to build a sub domain like APPS.XXXX.COM instead of XXXXAPPS.COM
2) since it is in a QA environment, is it necessary to have a SSL ??
3) is it need to have a different APPS stores for QA & PROD environments.
Thanks,
Praveen
Sharepoint HELPHi Praveen,
you don't need to buy a domain use your internal DNS
no need for SSL since it is QA
i think you mean app catalog, each environment will be having it app catalog

Configuring Apps for SharePoint 2013 - Host Header Sites
Hi All
I am busy planning our Apps for SharePoint deployment and one gotcha seems to be sites that use host headers. Our current deployment consists of the following:
2x WFE's (WFESRV1 and WFESRV2)
2x App Servers (APPSRV1 and APPSRV2)
The WFE's are load-balanced and we have 2 sites, portal.intranet.com and mysite.intranet.com. Both use host headers. I have gotten to the point where I will have a DNS zone called companyapps.com and a CNAME *.companyapps.com.
To which site do I point the CNAME to and what if I need both sites to be App enabled? Also, a lot of sites mention I need a empty site collection on a separate IP in order to use Apps with host headers. How would I use this empty site collection and
what would I name it?
We are on the March 2013 update.May Be I understand your question as *.companyapps.com should be pointed to sharepoint server but where in IIS binding would you map *.companyapps.com
Actually, When you configure the APPS on server, the central admin > apps > you have to mention this *.companyapps.com. Now all apps will be "(yourname)-guid.companyapps.com"
Then you will have to create a app catalog where all the app related details will be stored
When App service application is created it is automatically added to default service connection. and this service connection to mapped to other web application(Application management, you see service connection)
If all is configured well apps will automatically work for all web apps -
Configure Apps for SharePoint 2013 in dev environment without DNS
I have a SP 2013 dev env
http://spitlab/ .I want to configure app store in this environment
will I be able to do it without access to a DNS server
I followed the below two articles
http://www.ashokraja.me/post/Develop-SharePoint-2013-Napa-App-In-Local-Dev-Environment-Configuring-On-Premises-without-DNS.aspx
I am able to install third party apps but when I click on it . it gets redirected to sfs.in
next i try this
http://sharepointconnoisseur.blogspot.com/2013/07/shortcut-to-prepare-sharepoint-2013-app.html
same thing I am able to install 3rd party apps but when i click on it .. it goes to intranet.com
so is it possible to install third party apps on a dev box without DNS and check out third party apps and if what steps am i missing ?Hi,
If you click the 3rd party apps and it is redirected to sfs.in or intranet.com, this means you configured app domain correctly.
You can read the official document per the following first link to understand what app domain is (with DNS configured), app domain format is as bellow image (borrowed from this
article), and app domain is defined as you want(e.g. ContosoApps.com).
Without DNS, as your above two articles described, the app domain (e.g. apps.com, or apps.sfs.in) is written manually in hosts file directly, you can construct an app domain as your own, then after you install a custom developed app, it should be the following
app url format.

I am facing this problem in MAC OS Mozilla Firefox. It is displaying correctly in other browsers like google chrome and internet explorer in MAC OS,but it is not displaying correctly in Mozilla firefox.
I already checked the possible reasons like:
1. Restarted my computer
2. Clear cookies and cache
3. Restarted Firefox in Safe Mode
4. Troubleshoot all plugins
5. Reinstalled Firefox
6. Reset Firefox.
anyone know how to fix this issue.I am waiting for your valuable answers.Looking at [http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/82591/in-powerpoint-web-app-2013-ppt-is-not-displayed-correctly-in-mac-os-mozilla-fire your screen shot] it reminds me of a problem with Flash on the Retina display not using the full area if hardware acceleration of graphics is disabled. See [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968863 I'm only getting one quarter of a screen on Flash Player on Firefox] (unsolved).
Not sure if that's relevant but does the display of the slide change if you make sure that hardware acceleration is enabled? The checkbox is here:
Firefox menu > Prefences > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
Note that any changes take effect after you exit and restart Firefox.
To see whether Firefox actually is using hardware acceleration, you can check the troubleshooting information. Either:
* Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
Toward the end, in the Graphics section, look for this row:
GPU Accelerated Windows
The number will show a ratio of accelerated to non-accelerated window. If hardware acceleration is disabled, the first number will always be zero.
By the way, is the SharePoint PPT viewer using Flash, or Silverlight, or another plugin? Typically Firefox will display an icon that looks a bit like a "Lego" block in the address bar showing what plugins are in use in the page. -
I also had same problem with MAC and Windows ,but it is solved by using silverlight plugin..Now i have to solve it for android devices.Any one please let me know that , is silverlight plugin for firefox on android is availabale or not?
Hello neelam.mourya,
Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support. Unfortunately there are no Silverlight plugins available for Android.
I'm sorry that we don't have happier news for you, but I hope this answers your question.

Installed SP 2013 Foundation in my Hyper-V machine
Created and done all the steps mentioned here http://blogs.msdn.com/b/shariq/archive/2013/05/07/how-to-set-up-high-trust-apps-for-sharepoint-2013-amp-troubleshooting-tips.aspx && http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/fp179901%28v=office.15%29.aspx

copied those two certificates in my local machine(base machine) D drive
(D:\Cert)
Both VM and base machine are in same domain
Installed VS 2013 in my base machine and create a Provided hosted app with the copied certificates, (For creation i followed the above mentioned URL)
Just created and hit F5 to run in my base machine, but getting this error
Error occurred in deployment step 'Uninstall app for SharePoint': The remote server returned an error: (502) Bad Gateway.
Please help me to resolve this issue, trying to figure out from last 2 days
Thanks in Advance
ArunHi Harminder,
This happens because an app has already been deployed and you are deploying it again using the same version.
Resolution:
Open the AppManifest.xml file and change the version.

Configure an environment for apps for SharePoint (SharePoint 2013)
I am trying to follow the instructions in the article, "Configure an environment for apps for SharePoint (SharePoint 2013)". I have purchased an additional domain for the apps. However, in step 2 it says to create a CNAME from that domain to my
sharepoint domain.
Which site do I point the CNAME to? I have 2 host-named site collections for my application.Since you say there are no dumb questions here goes:
I think my web server is IIS. If that is the case, I have 2 sites in IIS, the "Default" which is the WHS2011 remote login page and "SharePoint-80" which is the name of my SharePoint application. There is nothing in IIS that
has My internal server name.domain.XXX. There is a domain name that came with WHS2011 of XXX.homeserver.com (the "Default" site). I purchased a domain for my SharePoint site collections. Again, neither of these uses my internal server name so
I know I am missing something here.

Office Web Apps Load Balancing Configuration Issue for SharePoint 2013
I have load balanced servers dedicated for Office Web Apps with name “md1xxxwfe1” and “md1xxxwfe2”
, both this servers are load balanced by CISCO Load balancer. And I have mapped Load Balancer Virutal IP with host name officeapps.jda.corp.local in the DNS records.
Things are working fine if I add new farm by using New-OfficeWebAppsFarm
with server name as internalurl in PowerShell console
as like “ -internalurl http://
md1xxxwfe1 but when I use –internalurl officeapps.jda.corp.local it is not working at all. I’m not getting what to do at this point.
I have gone through following blogs but no luck.

http://sps2013.blogspot.in/2013/09/office-web-apps-with-sharepoint-2013.html
The output of the wfe1 server is attached with this. When I open http:// /hosting/discovery in wfe1 I’m getting following result (attached
screenshot) but it should show hostname rather than server name.
Please help me
Thanks, Ram ChHi Ram ,
For troubleshooting your issue, please take steps as below:
Just about any load balancing solution will work, including a server that runs the Web Server (IIS) role running Application Request Routing (ARR):Install
Application Request Routing
Install the certificate on the load balancer as described under Securing Office Web Apps Server communications by using
HTTPS.
Make sure you have configured the cluster correctly for full internet name:

Error trying to create App for SharePoint Online
I'm trying to create my first app for SharePoint Online using Visual Studio 2012. I believe I have all of the pre-reqs installed/configured. I have created a dev site in our SharePoint Online environment. I am a Site Collection administrator for that site.
When I open VS2012, and try to create a new app project, it prompts me to connect to my dev site. When I enter the URL for that site, it give me the following login:
We use ADFS, so when I enter my email address, it redirects me to my organizations federated login:
Once I login, it takes me to the screen that reads "Error: An error has occurred on the server" with the standard SharePoint correlation id.
I can't seem to get past this, and it won't let me start the new app project. Any thoughts on how to proceed?
Thanks in advance,

When I click "go back to site", it takes me here: -

Workflow is not visible for a list in an app in SharePoint 2013
Hello All,
I have created an app in SharePoint 2013 and added a basic workflow in this app.
Though the solution gets deployed successfully, workflow is not visible in list --> Workflow Settings.
Has anyone faced this kind of issue in SP 2013 App ? Please provide your inputs to resolve this issue.
Thanks.Hi Supratim,
I would suggest you that you try to analyze the workflow log and see where the workitem goes exactly.
See if the workflow goes into error or if the workflow gets routed to the wrong agent.
Also let us know how the agent determination is being done?
Is it been done using rule or is it static agent assignment?
