Hi KM Experts,
What's the procedure to create an XML Form Resource based on an exisitng XML Form Type?
I'm working with SAP EP 6 SP2 so I assume I need to use following interfaces:
IXMLForm
IXMLFormManager
IXMLFormsService
But how do I create a new resource of XMLForm type ...

I would like to know if we can create Interactive forms only with ABAP & without using GP or Java. We want to develop an offline solution using Interactive forms, but would like to use only ABAP for creating the forms. All the documents so far either refer to creating the forms, in reference to / in sync with: ISR (Service Requests), GP (General Procedures) or Java. Can this be done with ABAP alone?

You should be able to create Adobe Interactive Forms using only the ABAP stack (without GP, Java, etc). Please refer to the thread below. Hope it helps.

XML forms app with link pointing to KM folder

Hi guys!
I need to create in XML forms an application for messages. A message should include a link, which will point into KM folder with documents or photos. This link can be for each message different.
How to achieve this?

Hello Peter,
If you use a "Browser" Element in the XML Forms Builder, you can assign the type Object or Preview for images. The data Sheme should point to Rid or Image (depends what you want), this is a property of the data sheme element in the lower left corner.

Creating dynamic form data with SetValue QPAC

I'm creating form data in a workflow process, and using it to populate a dynamic XDP with a subform. In my test form, the subform is named "Item", with a text field named "ItemData". Initially, I can create the form field via the SetValue QPAC and using these parameters;
location: /process_data/form/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data/fields/Item/ItemData
value: "first"
However, I need to add multiple instances of the Item subform. For example, if I fill out the test form with 3 items and export the data to XML, the data structure comes out like this:
first
second
third
So, the question is, how do I use the SetValue QPAC to create multiple instances of the items? I've tried various locations;
/process_data/form/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data/fields/Item.x/ItemData
/process_data/form/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data/fields/Item[x]/ItemData
/process_data/form/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data/fields/Item/ItemData.x
but none of them seem to work. I know I'm probably just missing something simple. Anybody care to fill me in on the obvious?

Looking back on this thread, I think you're saying that the data is eventually going to come from a MySQL database.
In that case, our SQLPlus QPAC will do the job perfectly.
You just specify the query, specify the repeating element:
/process_data/form/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data/fields/Item
and then map columns in the result set to sub-element of the Item.
eg mycolumn -> ItemData
The SQLPlus qpac will create all the repeating items for you.
Does this work for you?
If not, please specify what you'd like to see.
A couple of options are:
- A setValue qpac that correctly inserts for expressions like: process_data/form/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data/fields/Item[2] (probably difficult to do)
- An InsertSequence qpac that takes a repeating element and a count as an input, and creates that many repeating elements. You could then refer to them using the regular SetValue qpac. (Probably easier to do.)
- Something else. Go wild :-)

When using the API, are you trying to create the order as booked using the booked flag or the book action? I would recommend using the action if you are not. To troubleshoot, I would try the API without booking and then use the following article to determine the issue:

Error in creating XML photo gallery with Flash CS4 and AS 3.0

Hello, all. I've been creating an XML photo gallery with Flash CS4 and AS 3.0 following a tutorial. I followed the instructions step-by-step but at the end I got the following error message instead:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
Could anyone in the community assist me as to how to solve the problem? The script has no errors and last time I checked all the applicable files (the .xml file, the .jpg files, the .swf and the .fla file) are in my Documents folder on the Mac.

Creating a form field with Arial MS Unicode and Identity-H encoding

I need to create a text field on an Adobe Acrobat form that has a font of Arial Unicode MS with the font encoding being set to Identity-H. However when I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard (v9.5.1) to do this the encoding is always set to UniKS-UTF16-H. I can't find a way of changing the encoding to Identity-H. Any suggestions on how I can achieve this.

I have a 3rd party form filling app that needs the encoding set to identity-h to support the range of characters that could be input. I could ask the vendor to change the app to fix the problem but there would be significant process involved in that. I have a small demo that shows that creating a form with the encoding set to identity-h provides a resolution. The demo was created with iText but as the real form is considerably more complicated I'd rather not use iText if I don't have to. Since the form was originally created with acrobat the question remains as this would be the "least painful" route to a resolution.

Create XML form in a collaboration room?

I've created a XML form, and I'd like to be able to create documents based on this form directly in a collaboration room document area. Currently, I'm only able to create Links, Text and HTML documents, as well store uploaded documents into the document folder.
Can the room UI be enhanced to allow this functionality? If so, can someone give me a push in the right direction? KM configuration is such a large area, it's difficult to know where to start.
I believe that the AppDocumentExplorer layout set is used to render the body of the document folder, but I'm not sure what controls the menu.
Suggestions?

I found the answer - you have to add the command group 'CreateXMLFormsGroup' to command group 'AppDocumentNewGroupSubCollection'. Once that's done, the 'Forms' submenu will show up in the 'New' menu.

OIM: How to create a custom Resource with Form

Hi -
I'm integrating OIM and OAM and am trying to create a process through which users can request access to different Applications protected by OAM. Some of these apps require capture additional information from the user.
I was thinking I would create a Resource for each application so the user could be provisioned or request access and the process form for each resource would contain whatever custom fields that app needed.
So while I'm quite familiar with the built in things such as AD process forms, and resources, etc... I've never created something like this from scratch. I'm guessing each resource need to do 2 things:
- Put the user in a group in whatever ldap directory (OAM would look at this group for access policies for the respective application)
- Gather some required fields
Here's what I tried so far:
- Create Resource Object for My App
- Create Process Definition , type Provisioning, Object Name=My App
- Create Form in Form Designer UD_MYAPP, set Object Name = My App
- Set Process Definition's table name = "UD_MYAPP"
When I try to provision it fails in a Pending System validation. When I click on View or Edit on the Process Form, I get a page saying "A system error encountered, contact your admin...."
Can someone give me a high level overview of what I need to do? Any key fields I should pay attention to?
What's best practice with something like this, it's got to be a pretty common thing, right?

I seem to remember that you get that error when you don't have any fields on your process form.

You will also need to add a non conditional task to your provisioning process that sets the object status to "provisioned".

I'm currently working on an BPEL based process. And i need to create an OCS user. So far I can create an user in the OID. But I cant find any documentation about given this user an email account,calendar and content function etc.
Did anybody know if there are some OIDDAS Webservices? Or did anybody know how to do this using the Java APIs?

You are asking about a Database User I hope.
You can look into the Oracle 8i Documentation and find various privillages listed.
In particular, you may find:
Chapter 27 Privileges, Roles, and Security Policies
an intresting chapter.
You may want to do this with the various tools included with 8i - including the
Oracle DBA Studio - expand the Security node and you can create USERS and ROLES.
Or use SQL*Plus. To create a
user / password named John / Smith, you would login to SQL*Plus as System/manager (or other) and type in:
Create user John identified by Smith;
Grant CONNECT to John;
Grant SELECT ANY TABLE to John;
commit;
There is much more you can do
depending on your needs.

Creating XML using DBMS_XMLGEN with a namespace

Is it possible to create an XMLTYPE using the DBMS_XMLGEN function set that contains a namespace. As far as I can see only the 'setrowsettag' function allows any control over what goes into the root element - should I be including, for example, an attribute called 'xmlns' with a value?
The reason I ask all this is I'm trying to validate xml created from a select statement against a registered xsd.

Did you change any of the text in the lob write statements ?
I believe you get this error if you increase the number of characters without increasing the 1st argument which looks as though it represents the number of characters

Creating xml format file with double dagger ‡ as delimiter

Hi,
My source files are delimited with double dagger (‡) and I am using openrowset to load the files to SQL Server. When I am creating the format file by specifying the delimiter as ‡, the format file created has a different delimiter than the specified one.
The new delimiter appearing in xml format file is ç.
Any help?

Creating Dynamic Audio/Video with OSMF Framework?

Hi All, Thanks to this forum and the OSMF framework - I learn ways to improve my application each day with OSMF. I am experimenting creating dynamic sound as well as video and was wondering if that is possible with the OSMF framework. Can I write a plugin that will allow me to stream a media file and modify it before playing it in the flash player? I could do this with the sampleDataEvent in Sound class and also had some success using netstream appendBytes in flash 10.1. Can i use the OSMF framework for such applications? Does the plug-in architecture allow me to create a media element as a byte array ?

Premiere Elements 11 on Windows XP 32 bit.
What are the video compression and file extension of the file created in PowerPoint? What version PowerPoint? What is the frame size and frame rate?
What are the audio compression and file extension (mp3 or .wav) of the audio created with this Cubase software? Are you dealing with mono, stereo, or 5.1 channel?
From your description, it sounds like you are letting version 11 set the project preset for you. What is it setting? We can find that out from the reading under Edit Menu/Project Settings/General - Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, Pixel Aspect Ratio, even if the fields appear to be grayed out.
If you import your .wmv export back into the Premiere Elements project, do you see content in both the video and audio tracks? If so, do both play back when you press the play button of the Edit area monitor?
Have you checked Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware and ASIO and have you checked out your audio in the Edit area with the Audio Meter opened to verify sound level? See Window Menu/Audio Meters.
Is the problem confined to this PowerPoint video and Cubase audio? What happens if you try this with a video from your camera and soundtrack from one of the SmartSound soundtracks?
Please review the above and then let us know the answers to the questions.
