CreateProcess: null... error 2 work around

When trying to create a new database, at least on some configurations, the Database Configuration Assistant gives the following error:
CreateProcess: null -new -sid selectedsid -startmode m error=2
And then when you press Enter, you get error ORA-12560.
It seems that the assistant is running 'null' instead of the oradim utility.
The workaround is:
1. Start creating the database until you get the CreateProcess error.
2. Open a dos window, and run:
c:\oracle\ora92\bin\oradim -new -sid selectedsid -startmode m
(where 'selectedsid' is the sid you selected in the assistant).
3. Once it's done, press ok on the CreateProcess error and everything should continue ok.

Error 3256 work around - Switch speaker to computer then back to remote

I have found a quick Error 3256 work around. Switch the speaker to computer (drop box in bottom right corner of iTunes display) then back to the remote speaker. This beats starting and restarting iTunes.
Background: I have been using my airport express to stream music from iTunes on my PowerBook G4 to my stereo. Since the latest iTunes update I have been getting error 3256 when I try to start playing music after the computer has been in sleep mode. Stopping and restarting iTunes would solve the problem until the next time the computer went to sleep. By accident I discovered that switching the speaker setting to computer and back clears the problem.

SMB Direct connect Issues and error -36 (work around?)

I use the SMB command to connect from a Imac, to a Windows 7 machine.   Typically on a fresh restart of both machines the connection would be quick and fast transfer speeds.   However after a while I would get disconnected and after logging back in, would get slow connections and typically get an error -36 when trying to transfer bigger files.     What I did notice was that when the Windows machine would go to sleep, and come back online, these symptoms would occur.
What I decided to do, was turn off any type of sleep mode and power saving options on the network device. for the windows machine.   As naturally I would still get disconnected every once in a while, once I connect I do not have anymore issues.    This has worked now for the last couple of days, so I assume I can consider this a work around.
It seems that if the SMB connection gets disconnected from the other computer, the Mac will start giving errors.    I am not sure if this is really the mac issue, but this has only happened when I updated to Yosemite.
Let me know if anyone else has this problem, and has success with this solution.

"UIViewRoot is null" error while working with deployed application

I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 and WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.5.0 with production environment.
My application is based on Customized Dynamic Tab Shell where each task flow is loaded with its own transaction and also it is defined not to share data control.
I use a Collection Object inside TabContext class, which will be accessed and consumed (including modifications) by all dynamic tab loaded taskflow.
I use Customized FactoryClass for every BC4JDataControl to track the request and also to pass parameter to model layer AMs
When i run the application in local, i didn't get any error. But when i check the deployed application, I am getting a javascript dialog with the following error details

Reload Software 552 Error message work around

I'm desperate.. and climbing out of my skin
The long and the short of it: I have an 8520 and I got an error message of 'Relooad Software 552', but I can't get it to load
I was able to tether the phone and get into the Application Loader, even though the PIN doesn't display on the Desktop Manager (5.0.0.8)
I tried doing it with the Add/Remove Applications and with the Update Software. It gets through the first two phases, then it just hangs up
I tried calling T-Mobile, who put me in touch with BlackBerry... sorry, but I don't have a lot of confidence with the people over the phone. It doesn't help that they try to talk down to me.....
No matter, it's not working
On my old phone, the BB Pearl 8220, a tecnican was trying to do something back door, where we went into the files on my hard drive and used a Loader there (?).
Can someone maybe help me?
If I could get the phone to work, I would be willing to keep this handset and not bother with the new handset that BB is sending to me.
I want this to work. I NEED my phone. I'm inconvenienced with a loaner phone (no bells/whistles... yuck)

Remove the battery from the BlackBerry smartphone. Do not re-insert the battery.

Work around/Alternate solution for Oracle error ORA-01460 and ORA-02063

After the installation of Oracle.DataAccess version 2.111.7.20, I get the following error.(the code worked fine with Oracle.DataAccess version 9.2.0.700 )
I have attached the error as well as the sample code.
ORA-01460 and ORA-02063 are known bugs in the new ODP but would like to know if there is any Work around/Alternate solution for this problem(other than
the use of stored procs)..

The error occurs whenever the length of any of the parameter is increased. But there is no specific length where it is breaking down.
For example in this case, it breaks down with the given error if
agencyID > 8
agencyName > 6
fieldNumber > 9
uniqueid > 6

The problem was mapping input parameter type.
VARCHAR2-type mapping input parameter works with String-type PF parameter. But CHAR-type won't.

ASR9000/XR - BNG - L3 sub-interface limit for trunk (4096) error - what is the work around?

We currently have 7,500 broadband subscribers that we will be terminating on our ASR 9001.
Each one of our customers will be terminating on a sub-interface on a bundle.
On the 9k, there will be a QoS policy applied to rate-limit their broadband connection (see example below).
The challenge that we are running into right now is scaling beyond 4096 L3 sub-interfaces. When running through this in our lab, we receive the following fail message:

#3 - CoA QoS profile -> I'm using the following avpair for ingress / egress qos. However when validating against a speed test server, my results are well above the 10Mbps / 10Mbps I have provisioned. Actual is more of in the ~15Mbps/15Mbps range.
Am I missing additional config in the policing section?

There is a way to do this.
But it works or not, I have no idea.
Enable "Develop menu".
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click the Develop menu and select "User Agent"
There are choices. Do not forget to make Safari default again afterwards.

25025 Error when upgrading Any work arounds

When we upgraded a system from 6u29 to 7u4 and then 7u5, Windows 7 32bit Service Pack 1, the particular system ended up having a non usable Java Stack.
Perform repeated upgrades form 6u28 to 6u31 to 7u4 and then 7u5. Observe the Windows Control Panel In this case the Programs section indicates that there is no Java installed, Java FX2.1 is installed.
At this point the user cannot uninstall java to install it. Restarting the computer doesn't clear up the issue.
Are there any utilities to analyze or repari broken Java Installs?
We are aware of the release notes on 7u5 that indicate there was an issue updating from 6. There are several issues with the work around and the impact on our user community. Is this the correct place to discuss this. If not, is there an install forum for these types of disucssion.

ds1 is fixed and large. ds2 is small and dynamic so reloading really sucks.

I'm considered good at multi-dimensional databases and have recently fallen in love with DreamWeaver to build a pretty complex site so I don't have to be a real expert at PHP, Spry, Ajax, JavaScript, DOM, HTML, CSS etc (I suck, but most everything is working).
I wish I could point you to a site but I need to keep it secret for a bit - its strictly on my PC for now.
Let me explain the snippit, which I still don't have working .
ds1 has three columns and ds2 has one.

I want a Spry Table with its many neat features (eg. sorting) that combines the 3 ds's (lets worry about 2 for now).

I discovered a CFPDF bug this week, and thought I'd post the
bug and a work-around.
We had an app which had been using CFPDF to MERGE files since
August (just after upgrading to CF8). We suddenly began

The Cause:
It turns out over the weekend, the company providing the PDFs
had changed the layout slightly. Something about the way the new
file had been saved was throwing off the CFPDF tag when trying to
MERGE.
Other Symptoms:
- When using the IsPDFFile() function, the new file checked
out.
- Using CFPDF GETINFO on the new file yielded identical info
as an old file.
- CFPDF was able to successfully READ and WRITE the new file.
- READing the new file into a variable, or MERGEing directly
from the new file made no difference.
- Using a comma-list of PDF vars, or using CFPDFPARAM tags
made no difference.
- Specifying the pages from the new file to be included in
the MERGE made no difference.
The Solution:
The solution was surprising to me. We needed to simply
re-save (or WRITE) the file while including the "saveoption"
attribute and setting it to "linear".
So before we attempt a merge, we first need something like
this:

Then when we try our merge, it all works fine:

Tried clean wipe and reinstall. Immediately after reinstall of DM, in setting up my 9900 "for the first time", I received the following error message...
"Either there is no default email client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please open Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
I opened Outlook 2013 and checked that it was the default mail client. It was already.
After going in and clicking to confirm default email client, I was allowed to proceed to configure organizer sync settings. I configured memo only (one way from device). I then received the same error message that I was receiving (per my original post in the last message). I've previously tried configuring only one type of organizer sync and not one of them completed a successful sync, so it can't be a bad entry in the calendar or contacts. I also tried deleting CICAL entries for all of email addresses other than my primary one. No difference. Also, prior to setup and sync, I confirmed that my 9900 was not on wireless sync.
I was hoping that this was an old issue and I could use one of the old work-arounds, so if anyone has any ideas for something else to try, please let me know.
In the mean time, I have to assume that it's something that's changed with Outlook 2013 (particularly given the new error message I reported above. I hope that someone at RIM is aware of these error messages and is working on a compatibility fix for Office 2013.

'UIComponent is null' error while opening a tab in ADF

I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
I am navigating from one ADF page to other in my ADF task flow. 2nd ADF page is having multiple tabs with showDetailItem. My requirement is that i need to open a particular tab in 2nd page from 1st page
(1st page) ---> (2nd page) (here a particular tab should open)
I have made use of NavigationHandler in my code which is working fine. But when I am trying to open a tab during navigation, I am getting 'UIComponent is null' error. below is the code I am using

        NavigationHandler nvHndlr = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().getNavigationHandler();
        nvHndlr.handleNavigation(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), null, "showOverview");

To solve your issue, add a managed bean in pageFlowScope or use an attribute inpageFlowScope that you use to identify the tab to be opened. Then in the second page, use the "disclosed" property on the showdetailItems to evaluate the pageFlowScope information and then return true or false respectively. The tab that evaluates to "true" will be opened.
