Creating a CSV output of just the rows of data.
Dear All,
I am trying to create a CSV output from SQL*Plus using the following method... All I need is the pure data, and nothing else.
set verify off
set feedback off
set termout off
set heading off
set echo off
spool <filename>
<my sql statement>
spool <off>
The problem is that the SQL statement is displayed in the output file.
Does anyone know how to switch this off, before I spool the file, or can I spool the file immediately after execution. I.e. Build this into the SQL statement (somehow)???
Thanks
David.
If you want to handle 100% the output file you can use the package UTL_FILE but the file is going to be store in the server.
UTL_FILE
With the UTL_FILE package, your PL/SQL programs can read and write operating system text files. UTL_FILE provides a restricted version of operating system stream file I/O.

I have made a burn folder with photos exported from I-photo. It now shows in information, that the date created and modified is different from the original digitized date. How can I get the original date to show in the info from Finder?
The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.

Output triggred in the invoice with Date/Time 1
Output triggred in the invoice with Date/Time as 1 i e Send with periodically scheduled job.
So could you let me know when this gets triggeed if we maintain 1 in condition record?
Thanks,
PraveenHi Praveen,
When you maintain 1in the Date/Time column in the Condition Records for O/P of say the Invoice it means that you are telling the system to send the O/P with periodically scheduled job.
To achieve this you must use the report program RSNAST00.The message is processed through report program RSNAST00. This report program can be scheduled periodically or started manually.
For scheduling periodically you need to set up a batch process in SM35.
Hope this helps,

How to split the rows while data integration?
Hi All
Im a newbie to ODI. I just want to know whether it is possible to split the rows in the source datastore to populate the target datastore.
Consider a table, say
Target Table 1:
a - varchar
b - number
sometimes i may get the source file like this
source1:
c1 c2
a 1
a 2
b 1
c 1
c 2
c 3
or
source 2:
c1 c2 c3 c4
a 1 2
b 1
c 1 2 3
in case of source 1 , i can easily map the values directly to the target table. the problem is in the source 2 scenario. the number of values in one particular row is unknown. In this case is that possible to split the row and populate the target using ODI.
Many thanks

user577332with interface i don't know but you can make an procedure which make this
like
Select c1,c2 from source2
where c2 is not null
union
Select c1,c3 from source2
where c3 is not null
union
Select c1,c4 from source2
where c4 is not null
this is an option if it doesn't work with Interfaces. -
Loading data into csv file based on the count of data in table in ODI
Hi,
I have a requirement like i have data in table and need to be loaded in csv file.
If the count of the data in the table exceeds the csv data limit then i need to call the same procedure again to
generate one more csv file and load the remaining data into it.my data in the table may vary all the time.
I am new to this ODI.Can anyone tell any ways to do it in ODI or tell me any logic to do this?
Thanks in advance..
Edited by: 883410 on May 22, 2012 12:01 AMWhat limit on the csv file are you talking about. There isn't a limit (unless you are on Unix where the filesize is limit is 2GB). Are you talking about opening it in earlier versions of Excel where the display limit is 60,000 rows as this is irrelevant for your operation?

Make just one row of data be a percentage
Any idea on how i can have just one account in my EVDRE report show up as percentages? Thanks.
Hi,
You can use the advanced formatting options.
You can have the criteria as ACCOUNT.ID=mention the ID for which you want the format as percentage.
Under the format, you can right click the cell and maintain the desired formatting.
In the formatoption, please refer to this range.
Please take a look at the below link from help.sap for more information on this:

Create an internal table with the rows of another internal table.
Hi I want to know if posible to create an internal table structure with the rows of another internal table?
ex.
If in i_tab column A has this values: row 1 = first, row 2 = second, row 3 = third.
Now I want that the structure of my internal table be: first, second, thirdHi,
If you do this way then what will be the difference between the two table anyway?? First internal table has the same structure irrespective of which row you select. and you are going to store the data from each row to the rows of the second internal table. In that case, the structure of the internal table is the same as first table. and it would have same rows.
Am I missing something here? or you want to declare the internal table with each field being the structure of the first table? In this case you'd have to do a dynamic declaration of data as the first table can have any no of rows then the second table would have any no of fields in the structure.
Now if you know that your first internal table is going to have a fixed no of rows eg 3 rows then it becomes simple. Do the following then
Data: begin of second_table occurs 0,
first type <first_table type>,
second type <first_table type>,
third type <first_table type>,
end of second_table.

Creating a material with just the basic view using BAPI
Hi
I intend to create a new material with just the basic view using BAPI BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA -
To do this - I believe I have to fill in the structure HEADDATA data - ( mandatory ) with the required values - I fill values for fields IND_SECTOR, MATL_TYPE & basic view ( check this field ) and leave the MATERIAL field as blank (assuming internal numbering ) and then fill values of the CLIENTDATA structure with values for the basic data view.
Is this correct ? Will my material number created be returned in the RETURN structure - how do I look for the material number exclusively in my RETURN structure ?hi

I have seen a lot of good ideas regarding csv output (such as the trick to output more than 10000 rows), and I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction with this question.
How would I go about generating csv ouput that does not contain quotes around the field data... just commas. Thanks
KevinKevin,
Essentially this is working as any other report, the only difference is that instead of using a template with HTML tags, the column values are enclosed in double quotes and separated by comma. This is hard-wired into the engine. So this can't be changed in the current version. You could write your own PL/SQL code to print out whatever you like, for this you might find the following posting helpful:

InfoPath form load rule is not checking all the rows in form library
Hi,
Requirement:
We have a form library named "HR Annual Review". In the InfoPath form we have two buttons "Save" and "Submit". User is allowed to Save multiple times and only once using Submit button. The file name of form library "HR
Annual Review" will be stored in the format “<username>+<mm>+<dd>+<yy>.xml”. Say for example, an user named Mike Walt submitted a form then the file name will be as “MikeWalt012314.xml”. If the same user (Mike Walt)
submits the form and tries to open the form for subsequent edit, then we need to show a view which has an error info saying “The Appraisal is already submitted for the current appraisal cycle”.
Solution we tried:
To achieve the above requirement, we tried using InfoPath Form Load and add a rule to check whether the combination of current user name and the year already exists in the filename column of the form library. But the rule we applied is not checking all the
rows in the form library. The rule is always checking the first row of the form library.
What we need:
We need the validation using InfoPath rule or some other way/solution to check whether the combination of current login username and current year file already exists in the form library.
Thanks in advance.
Srivignesh JHi Srivignesh,
Submit button Uses the Main Data connection to submit the data to the list. This is what you are using and naming the file in the format. You can create secondary data submit that will update the exiting item in the list. With this, you don't have to create
any rules to check all the rows which is also not possible in OOB InfoPath.
Once you have the two data connection, hide the toolbar from the form and display these two on the button. For The Submit button, apply the rule to hide the button if created by is not empty. For Save button, apply the rule to hide the button if Created
By is empty. This way, when a new form is created, you will see the Submit button, and when the user have to update the form, they will see Save button. Hope it help.s

CSV output = Yes, but link not displayed
Hi,
Anyone encountered/know how to fix this one?
I've a report in an SQL Report region with CSV Output = YES, but the link label is not displayed.
(CSV link is displayed OK on other reports).
Thanks
John DJohn,
The report template has to contain a certain substitution string. Please see the popup help for that yes/no selector on the report attributes page.

Remove header from a csv output in Bipublisher
Hi All,
I am generating a csv output from a Bipublisher report. The problem is I am getting the header (Column Names) in the extract.
I hAve removed the column name header from the rtf template.
Please let me know if we have to change any setting anywhere.
Thanks,
KrishnaHi
CSV output wont consider the rtf template it will direct extract of the columns you have in the dataset of a datamodel.
i dont think you can remove the column headings . if you don't want column headings you can try excel template or etext templates.
