Creating a flash slideshow of images?

Hi guys.
I need some help in making a simple slideshow in Flash.
I'd like the slideshow to have a black boarder box with a white background. I've got two buttons which I have made in Photoshop for previous and next image. I want the background of the slideshow to be white and images to be placed into this box for the user to be able to manually go through the images.
Is there anyway of doing this and if so could someone please assist me on creating such a flash file?
I need roughly 3 - 6 images in the slideshow.
I am using Macromedia Flash 8 Professional.
Thank you to anyone that can help me with this request.

    No, sorry, but you can, of course, produce a series of images for use in a slideshow.

  • Creating a Flash Slideshow

    I am working on a website that has an extensive portfolio
    section. The client wishes to have thumbnails that link to each
    piece of work. I am using Dreamweaver to set up the site. The
    thumbnails have been laid out in Dreamweaver as well. Is it
    possible to click on a thumbnail within the html (let's say it's
    the second one on the third row of thumbnails) and have it open up
    to the appropriate "page" in the swf file which would house the
    actual portfolio slideshow? Then there would be back and forward
    arrows to navigate to the other portfolio pieces.
    I hope I made some sort of sense.

  • Flash slideshows

    I'm looking for free software that'll create a flash slideshow. I have autoviewer working with Aperture but don't want to pay $45 for the pro version.
    I can't seem to find much for OSX - it's all Windows stuff. I tried a lot of the Windows stuff and it's pretty much all on Freeware pages but isn't actually free. Since I just want to do one page of my website as a flash slideshow, I don't see the point of buying something to do it. Most of the crippled "freeware" doesn't look too good and doesn't promise to be much better if I even paid.
    Does anybody know of a free flash slideshow creator? What I want to do is to put a background with changing images and changing text on top (this would work as a series of 8 or so VGA images with text on them). I would use a GIF animator but GIF is limited to 256 colors.

    To embed a Flash slideshow, of Flash in general, you need to paste the <object> code in a HTML Snippet. Or create an external HTML page with the slideshow and embed it in a HTML Snippet with the <iframe> HTML element.
    Depending of the Flash file you have to make sure the paths to the files are correct.
    You can verify that in Safari's Activity window (Command-Option-A).
    You do not need Flash for slideshow, there are other options :
    [Create a Banner Slideshow|http://www.wyodor.net/iWebBlogTest/Wyodor_1/WebBanner.html] (Without Flash)
    [Two slideshow on one page|http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/MyHouse> (based on code of Banner Slideshow above)
    And if you insist :
    [Create a Banner Movie |http://www.wyodor.net/iWebBlogTest/Wyodor_1/Artikel.html] (A movie displayed with a Flash player)
    [Here|http://www.wyodor.net/iFrame> (Click Diashow in the menu)
    [And here|http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/MyHouse/Polder.html] (You have to search for the code)

  • Widget: Flash Slideshow (Image Viewer) - Modifications Help!

    I created a Flash photo slideshow using Dreamweaver CS3's Insert > Media > Image Viewer. It can be seen here: http://cba.ua.edu/~ckent/ImageViewer/imageviewer.html.
    All and only relevant files can be found in the following directory: http://cba.ua.edu/~ckent/Image_Viewer/.
    Then, I added a Web Widget to my iWeb '08 site, using the entire code from image_viewer.html as the HTML Snippet (after changing relative links to absolute). Everything works beautifully.
    However, I have a few questions for you Flash aficionados out there:
    1. Is there a simple way to modify the code such that the images appear at random, instead of in the same order every time? Dreamweaver does not provide this as an option. I can do this easily with PHP, but of course that is not allowed with iWeb, so I'm looking for a quick and non-complex technique to add to/modify the existing code.
    2. The images load quickly for normal bandwidth speeds, though with slower connections you sometimes see the loading dialog for a second or two. Is there any preload or other technique I could use to alleviate this?
    3. Look at this page: http://cba.ua.edu/~ckent/ImageViewer/image_vieweralt.html. The green is a border that exists due to left-over space where titles and captions were supposed to be presented. Everything has been adjusted such that the minimum amount of space is left within the border. The images are 640x360, but the Flash element has to be set at 654x380 to display the full image size.
    Is there anyway to completely collapse the border around the image viewer? I think this is a function of the actual SWF file, so I doubt it is easily possible considering Dreamweaver creates it on the fly.

    Download the template I made and posted on this thread, should get you started,

  • Can I make an image display instead of flash slideshow on explorer with high security?

    I am a total flash beginner.  I created a simple flash slideshow that I want to appear on my website.  It works fine in firefox., but when viewed in explorer with high security, nothing displays unless the viewer specifically allows it. The slideshow is very prominent, and the site looks very bad when only an x shows up.   Is it possible to have a static image display in place of the slideshow, and then have the slideshow start if the viewer allows it? Is there any other way to get around this?
    Thank you for any assistance.
    EJ

    Have you tested it with IE online or only locally?  Locally IE will usually prohibit displaying Flash content.

    Unfortunately, those slideshows aren't all that flexible. I
    don't think
    that Adobe supplies the source for the Flash slideshows. But
    if you use
    the spry slideshow, you should be able to edit the HTML in
    Dreamweaver to
    add links.
    Have a look at one of Project Seven's graphics presentation
    products -
    Lightshow Magic, Slide Show Magic or Image Gallery Magic.
    They're $95
    each, and extremely flexible in what you can do with them.

  • How do you shuffle the image order when creating a new slideshow in apterture 3?  i would like to do this automatically when creating a new slideshow.  i see how you do it when you just play a slideshow.

    how do you shuffle the image order when creating a new slideshow in apterture 3?  i would like to do this automatically when creating a new slideshow.  i see how you do it with presets when you just play a slideshow, but i don't see an option to randomly shuffle the slide order when you create a new slideshow.  i know you can sort it by different fields, but i want it to be random.  thanks.

    If you want to rearrange images in random order you can try an AppleScript:
    retrieve a list of selected images from Aperture
    shuffe the list properly
    create an album in Aperture and add the images from the list to the album (make sure that the album set to be orederd manually)
    Here  is a sample script that shuffles the selected images and displays them in random order in Full Screen Mode:
    on removeItem(ims, i)
      -- remove the item at position "i" from a list ims
              if ims is {} then return {}
              if (length of ims is 1) then return {}
              if i < 2 then return rest of ims
              if (i = length of ims) then return (items 1 thru (i - 1) of ims)
              if i > (length of ims) then return ims -- should be error?
              return (items 1 thru (i - 1) of ims) & (items (i + 1) thru (length of ims) of ims)
    end removeItem
    on shuffle_items(ims)
      -- shuffle the items of the list "ims" randomly
              local numitems, ims_shuffled, nextrest, nextpick, i
              set numitems to length of ims
              if length of ims < 2 then return ims
              set ims_shuffled to {}
              set nextrest to ims
              repeat until nextrest is {}
                        set i to (random number (numitems - 1)) + 1
                        set nextpick to item i of nextrest
                        set beginning of ims_shuffled to nextpick
                        set numitems to numitems - 1
                        set nextrest to removeItem(nextrest, i)
              end repeat
              return ims_shuffled
    end shuffle_items
    on shuffleIms()
      -- retrieve the selected images from Aperture
      -- and display them in random order in full screen mode
              local imageSel, shuffled, i
              tell application "Aperture"
      activate
                        set imageSel to (get selection)
                        set shuffled to my shuffle_items(imageSel)
                        set fullscreen to true
                        if imageSel is {} then error "Please select some images."
                        repeat with i from 1 to count of shuffled
                                  reveal {item i of shuffled}
      delay 3 -- chnage that to the time you want
                        end repeat
                        set fullscreen to false
                        return shuffled
              end tell
    end shuffleIms
    shuffleIms()
    Some more code snippets to go from here:
    To create an album:
                        tell library 1
                                  if not (exists album "shuffledAlbum") then
      make new album with properties {name:"shuffledAlbum", image version:shuffled}
                                  end if
                        end tell
    And to add the images from the shuffled list to the album:
                        repeat with i from 1 to count of shuffled
                                  duplicate item i of shuffled to album "shuffledAlbum"
                        end repeat

  • Creating slideshow - importing images in numerical order

    I am creating my first slideshow in iDVD '06. I want the images to appear in numerical order as they do in their original folder. When I drag multiple images over from a folder, they appear in random order. Is it possible to maintain the numerical order?
    iMac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Mandy - if you want a quick slideshow, why not do it in iPhoto where you can quickly arrange the photos how you want? You can then Share/Export to Quicktime and bring it in to iDVD (my preference) or use the iDVD option within iPhoto to transfer the slideshow.

  • Creating a Flash Video Slideshow

    I was wondering if there was a tutorial somewhere on how to create a flash video slideshow similar to this website: http://slideshowpro.net/video/slideshowpro_for_flash#num=891929&id=album-42765 . Frankly, I don't even know if that's the correct term for it. The idea is to have one skin (Flash Player) on the site that plays videos with a list of various videos to choose from below. Furthermore, it should play it like switching channel on a TV, like on the site above, not like on YouTube or Metacafe (where a new page opens up with the video). This would be kind of like switching channels on a TV. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • How can I get a Flash Slideshow to show in a browser?

    Running Mac Leopard, CS3. Created a simple Flash slideshow using the Modern Photo Slideshow Template. Placed into DW page as dynamic Flash element. Slideshow is 2 photos, and uses manual buttons only. When viewed in DW preview only the first frame shows and buttons don't work (when viewed in Flash preview, it works as expected). When viewed in browser, nothing shows (although the space is visible), unless I turn off Javascript in the browser; then the first frame shows but nothing else works.
    I've tried this with 4 different browsers and DW, and all work the same way. What am I missing? Any help appreciated.

    If turning off the javascript makes the file at least appear, then that part of the problem likely means the AC_RunActiveContent.js file is not where it needs to be (if it is not coded directly into the html page).  In the head of your html page should be some indication of where that file needs to be (if it is not coded into the head section directly).  Turning off javascript is forcing the <noscript> section to load the file.
    As for nothing working anyways when you view it in a web page, it may be because of the location of the file.  Your code indicates that the swf is located in a folder named photos.  If that swf loads the images dynamically from that same folder, then the problem arises when you load the swf into a file in a different folder.  Once the swf is planted into a file in a different folder, that folder becomes its frame of reference for loading content dynamically.  So if the swf originally loaded files using targets like...image1.jpg, image2.jpg, etc.... when it is placed into parent folder's file, it needs to target them as if it actually lives in that folder using... photos/image1.jpeg, photos/image2.jpg, etc...

  • Linking flash slideshow into HTML?

    Please excuse me if this is a very "noobish" question, but is it possible to make a flash slideshow using 4 pictures,
    but have each picture linked to a webpage? A family friend just got me a copy of Flash Pro CS6 through his company but I have genuinely zero experience with flash (Just HTML and CSS).
    I set all 4 images to the same size. I realize I could do this in HTML, I'd just rather get some flash practice in.
    Thanks in advance for the help.

    Yes, you can create the images as objects and assign code to them to have them open html pages.  If you are using Actionscript 3 you want to look into using the navigateToURL() function for linking to web pages.

  • Flash SlideShow

    I have been asked to building a flash slideshow template for
    the company I work for to make it quicker and easier to produce a
    photo slideshow which changes the speed at which the images fade in
    and out. Some of my colleagues spend days fine-tuning this using
    tweens and lots of key frames. There must be a better way!
    I was wondering if anyone could help point me in the right
    direction or at least inform me if this is possible in flash. I
    have looked online for tutorials but as yet not found anything,
    which comes near what I am trying to produce.
    I look forward to any replies to this post and appreciate any
    assistance.
    Kind regards
    David.

    Hi,
    You can create your slideshow in a separate SWF file and load
    it into your main Flash file.
    Hope this helps
