Creating a Standard Build

I'm trying to set up what we call a "standard build source" for Mac OS X and I'm not sure entirely how to go about it (specifically, the best/easiest way to do it...).
What I currently have, is an area on a server which we use to store our configuration files. Any changes to config files throughout our systems are made to these files, not on the hosts themselves (this all uses revision control as well). We then rsync the file(s) out to the destination host where they take effect. This is particularly useful for files like /etc/group, /etc/smb.conf and so forth...
When a new server is installed, we can usually rsync out a standard set of files, and the server is up and running in no time. It also has the advantage that if something goes wrong on a particular machines config file, we can always sync out a known good copy from our "source area".
This currently exists for a series of RedHat and Solaris machines.
I now need to make this happen for a series of Mac OS X Server hosts.
Since much of the Mac OS doesn't use the standard unix config files, this isn't a straightforward as I'd hoped. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of a setup, or a better solution?

You can use Server Admin to drag known, working good configurations beween servers.
Within Server Admin, the 'settings' pane for each service has a small icon on the lower right which can be dragged between servers to quickly copy the settigns. You can also drag to the desktop to make a backup of the plist for the settings.

Hi Guys and Gals,
Sometimes, the standard report is great because it gives the user the feeling of a grid. i.e. All of the values are editable on one page, kind of like a spreadsheet. That is sometimes very useful. But if there is a lot of data, a filtering mechanism is necessary.
So will one of you Apex gurus please tell me how to create a standard report that also allows data filtering?
Allowing the user to specify the number of rows displayed would be peachy-keen too.

Nothing about forms. Tabular Forms, Tabular Forms. Despite many enhancements over the last few versions, tabular forms still cause problems, especially for novices trying to go beyond their own competence and the built-in capabilities of wizard-generated tabular forms.
More good advice: Re: Newbie question-how does the tabular form work? How to populate prim key? and—if based on decent database design—out of the box you have a usable and robust application. Use an Interactive Report or a custom report template and add some CSS and you can get something a lot more powerful, flexible and better looking than any tabular form. Spend the time you haven't wasted on frustrated hacking of tabular forms adding more features and enhancements to your app.

In Scheduling Agreements the subsquent process is not order it is actually delivery
Scheduling Agreements contains Fixed Delivery dates and quantities and the same can be seen in schedule lines of the
Scheduling Agreement which you have prepared
The word fixed carries a lot of meaning here
On the due date
the system actually creates deliveries or it appears in the delivery due list
You cant create order referring to scheduling agreement
This is business logic and SAP logic too
Scheduling Agreements means your order is sheduled for delivery

CHKDSK v6.2.9200.16384 dichotomy between Windows 12 Server x64 Standard Build 9200 and Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64

I seem to have discovered a dichotomy between the ability of CHKDSK v6.2.9200.16384 to detect and repair an external NTFS drive, when executed on Windows 2012 Server Standard Build 9200 x64 and Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64. There should be no difference in executing
the same application between these two systems.
Even though both are 64-bit systems, and both are up to date, and both are running the same version of chkdsk, chkdsk on Windows 12 Server was UNABLE to detect an NTFS filesystem on an external WD 1TB USB drive (detected fs as RAW), while chkdsk on Windows
8.1 Enterprise WAS ABLE to detect the NTFS filesystem on the same external drive, and was able to repair it.
So, what is the difference between these two systems? Why should the same version of
any application yield different results between these systems?
The only result on Windows 2012 Server was:

Hi,
Please check if the Windows Server 2012 is still UNABLE to detect the external NTFS drive after attach the drive from the Windows 8.1 back to the Windows Server 2012.
A RAW filesystem simply means that it is a filesystem that is not recognized by Windows. The most common cause of external hard drives suddenly becoming RAW drives is if they are disconnected from a computer without using the “Safely Remove Hardware” option.
You can use the Dskprobe tool (Dskprobe.exe) to make repairs to check it the issue still exist on the Windows Server 2012.

Created a standard Inquiry (IN) with price but the price not copied to quotation

I created a standard inquiry of type IN and entered price for my items in inquiry.
Now, I am creating a quotation with reference to inquiry. On the quotation landing page, everything like material, quantity, sold-to, ship-to are copied but the price is not copied.
Is this common or am I doing anything wrong ?

Problems deploying ear file created with ant build script

Hi All,
I'm using Jdeveloper 11G and Weblogic 10.3. When I build my application and run it within Jdeveloper, it works fine. However, we have a requirement to run ANT build script and create a deployable .ear file that can be manually deployed to any Weblogic Server.
I created my ant build script and it compiles/builds fine - the .ear file looks good. However, when I attempt to deploy it, it fails with
javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet for servlet Faces Servlet could not be loaded because the requested class was not found in the classpath .

I am not sure how to tell weblogic where to find the classes needed. I have a pretty huge classpath used when compiling - should I be putting the classpath in the manifest (?) - I don't think I should need to include the .jar files manually in the .ear file - since all the libraries should already be available in weblogic - or is that a misconception?

I answered my own question -
I had to manually add the following to the WEB-INF/lib to get the error to go away:
${ORACLE_HOME}/modules/javax.jsf_1.1.0.0_1-2.jar and
${ORACLE_HOME}/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jsf_1.2.9/glassfish.jsf_1.0.0.0_1-2-15.jar and
${ORACLE_HOME}/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jsf_1.2.9/glassfish.jstl_1.2.0.1.jar
that solved my problem. However, I think it'd be great if I could somehow just specify (in the weblogic-application.xml maybe?) that my application is using the above modules without having to copy the jar files into my WEB-INF/lib - any suggestions?

Is it possible to embed DAQmx in Installer(created by Application Builder)?

The good thing of Installer (created by application Builder) is that it also integrates LabView Runtime Engine along with supports like Serial port support, Port I/O support etc. Due to which one can install the application developed by Labview on any system wheather that contains Labview or not, as the engine required by that application also gets installed.
But problem with my application is that it uses DAQmx related stuff, so I have to install DAQmx 8.0 prior to running my application installer on any system. Is it possible that the DAQmx related stuff required by my application also gets install through same installer as it installs LabView Runtime Engine, so that the distribution of my application donot require the complete installation of DAQmx.

You need to use LV 8.0. You can add NIDAQ to your installer in LV 8.0. In previous versions I do not think it is possible.

You would need to first create the form ( or Widget in EchoSign) first to generate a url which you can paste it in the email being sent to customers. You would need to make sure you have a Document Cloud Enterprise Premium account in order to create a Widget. If you don't have the account, you can use the trial version to test it. How to create new Standard views in BPEL worklist

Hi all,
we want to use the BPEL Sample Worklist and customize it. Among others we want to modify the existing standard views (like "High Priority Tasks" etc.) and add new ones.
According to a tech note ("http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/htdocs/orabpel_standardviewtechnote.html", actually the only one we found!) on the Oracle Tech Network we modified the XML file (StandardTaskViews.xml) that defines the original standard views.
That xml file is located in the bpm-services.jar file under $[oracle.home]/bpel/system/services/lib.
But when restarting the server all standard views disappeared, even after replacing the changed jar file with the original one!?
So how can we create new standard views!?

But what happens if a new user is created after you have set the VIEWOWNER column to all users!? This user won't have that view!? Or is there a chance to set the VIEWOWNER column to something like "ALLUSERS"!?
In our understanding this is exactly what Standard views represent: A view that is available to all users. So it would be very handy if one could easily define new standard views instead of creating a custom view and make it available to all (currently existing) users...

Adobe creating an app-building software program?

Any guesses whether or not Adobe might ever create an app-building software program in the not too distand future?
I've been tempted by some other 3rd party plug-ins like Kwiksher and Corona, which allow one to build a multi-page app with animations and sounds for the iPad and other devices. Kwiksher is based on Photoshop, so it would simply many steps of the learning curve.

It seems logical that Adobe would build such a program, but I'd be curious if anyone on this forum knows if such a thing is in the works?
Also, might anyone recommend any other new multi-media app development tools that are simple and based on photoshop?

I'd be looking to create children's book apps where each page might have simple sound effects, slight animations (like moving or twirling an image), and also include the option of having music and short mp3 voices... upon clicking.
Since I'm not a programmer, I wonder if there is any program that does that? Or whether Adobe might be planning one that's as simple to use as Kwiksher?
I can't do any coding... but I draw pictures and create digital images and am a published author.
So I wonder if there is anything in the wind about whether Adobe might be creating something for this market?
I know that Apple is anti-flash... so considering that a huge portion of the e-book and app market is through Apple's iTunes, that would be problematic.
I know that Indesign CS5 can publish text documents to an epub format.... and they can include limited multi-media features like movies, but I'd be looking for a program that might do a bit more than that.

How to create a standards folder

I'd like to create a standards folder to appear every time I open up FCP or start a new project. We have 4 or 5 pretty standard graphic and short Quicktime files for intros and outros, watermarks, etc, for nearly every project we do. Rather then dragging each one from my external drive into the new project, I'd like them to be there each time a new project is started. How can I do this?
I've searched here and on LAFCPUG and the COW to help out, I've muddled through FCP's help PDF on my own and I tried creating a folder in the Effects tab in the Browser then dragging the files I need into the folder from a previous project. The graphic and Quicktime files don't appear.
Where am I screwing up or what am I not doing?

Because FCP doesn't work that way. What you are talking about would require getting into the programming of the NLE.
No NLE I know of does what you ask. For that reason.

Ok, so you create your FXML :
Add a controller property to your root control. (See Code tab in SceneBuilder or direcly in FXML : fx:controller tag)
Add a fx:id to your controls (your combobox) (First property in SceneBuilder or directly in FXML : fx:id)

we no need to buid a report.we want generate a sql query using GUI drag and drop query builder.
our suggestion is provide synonym for all objects and give to clinet,but in apex query builder only show view and table...
it not show synonym thats the problem..
simply we want oracle query browser.just want build a query.through synonym schema.
we cerate a oracle user and provide synonym for live tables.then we provide the synonym user to client place,so they want build a query simpl.
they dont have sql knowledge.

Calling graph from Reports created in graphics builder?

Can you call a graph from Reports 6.0 that was created in Graphics Builder. I know you can call a graph from Forms. I tried creating my graph right in Reports with the wizard but for some reason it does not give me the fields I want to use in the available fields column, so I created the graph in Graphics Builder. Do you use a trigger of some sort. Any examples would be appreciated if this is possible. Thanks

Yes, you can call a graph from inside a report. All you need to do is select the button with the graph on it (not the icon with the wand, which indicates chart wizard). Then draw graph in the area of the report where you want the graph to display. After completing this, right click on graph, select Property Palette, Chart - Chart Filename (this is where you will type in the directory and filename of your graph that you created in Oracle Graphics).

InDesign Panels created with Extension Builder 3 get collapsed upon relaunch of InDesign and you have to corner drag them open to see the panel. This bug is very annoying. Does anyone know a work around?

I found how to fix this.
There is a hidden XML file called manifest.xml located in you project folder here:
../.staged-extension/CSXS/manifest.xml
In that file there is a section called <Geometry>
By default there is an entry for size. You can add sections for min and max panel size values.
