Creating a VM using Oracle VM Server from Server Pool

Hi All
How do i create a VM from ISO using server pool (Discover and Register) option :
1. copied the iso file to /OVS/seed_pool
2. selected Server Pool option in VM Manager and Clicked "Next"
3. Import ISO -
i . Server Pool - Comes with no option
ii . ISO Group - Comes with no option
iii . ISO Label - Comes with no option
Also
I have some existing OEL4 and OEL 5 VM created on VMWare and Virtual Box respectively , now I wish to import them to Oracle VM ,how can i do so
Please Help
Thanks

    Yes you can forward requests from your own apache to the iAS. This can be done using mod_proxy. Some hints about how to do this are availlable on this forum.
    mod_oc4j is not a standard apache module, and therefore is not availlable when you download apache. There is no apparent reason to use mod_oc4j on a "regular" webserver (unless you want to build your own iAS). Also there might be some licenseing issues with using mod_oc4j module on a standard apache.
    You can encrypt data that is passed from a random Apache to you iAS.

    The integration connection between OBIEE and BIP is successfull, and I can connect using Administrator to the BIP
    But when I assign a general user using group : XMLP_Admin (define in rpd file and relational table), the user can log in to BIP, but can NOT access the Shared Folder.
    the error desc : "Error 500: SRVE0199E: OutputStream already obtained"
    Anyone can help ?

    But somehow, at my workspace home, I cannot find the folder or Explore inside, which is to see my Financial Reporting.
    I'm login using admin and the privileged is already for administrator.
    Is there anyone ever face this problem..??

    1. Correct the following path
    extension_dir = "D:/php/ext"
    (if your php is installed in D:/php, the above path is correct.
    2. Find the line ;extension=php_oci8.dll
    delete comment sign (;) and it will be :

  • Whether using Oracle after migrating from MySQL be easy or not?

    Though oracle is tough secured one, I don't know exactly the complexity of using Oracle database. Using MySQL 4.1.22 in my website https://www.puntercalls.com/ . Though the site is based on providing share market tips, it deals with a huge amount of stock market data and in much more real time basis hand-to-hand with NSE and BSE info which means a tough security is the utmost demand of the time.
    My question is whether using Oracle after migrating from MySQL be easy or not. You can check my site at https://www.puntercalls.com/ for different real time data updation parts.
    Kind suggestions are greatly appreciated in advance!

    Hi,
    As you are really asking about how to setup and use securioty features in an Oracle database it woul db ebetter to raise the question in this forum -

  • Oracle clusterware server pools

    Hello Oracle fans!
    These days i've started reading the clusterware doc from here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/rac.112/e16794/toc.htm and since i didn't found to much info/examples of administrating server pools at the chapter II Administering Oracle Clusterware i decided to take a look on other resources like blogs& notes. Here http://www.dbametrix.com/oracle-11g-server-pool.html i found the folowing note:
    "New concept was introduced called server pools in Oracle RAC for managing RAC database in Oracle 11g RAC. Before Oracle 11.2 RAC, increasing and removing instances in RAC database is manual process. After introduction of server pool the new concept in Oracle 11g R.2, need to allocate new node in server pool only *because after that all tasks are being performed by server pool automatically*. *We can say that, prior of Oracle 11g R.2 RAC there was Database Administrator based management available because adding node to Clusterware, adding and removing instance from Oracle RAC, creating redo logs, control files, undo tablespace for specific new instance were done by Database Administrator. Nowadays from Oracle 11g R.2 RAC these all tasks are automated using server pool new feature of Oracle 11g RAC."*
    Since i dont have resources in my test env. to add a 3rd node for tests and hoping that the note is correct (or my undertstanding is ok), my question is : after configuring a new cluster node, the addition of a RAC instance on this resumes to adding a server in the server pool where the other RAC DB nodes "resides"??
    With the resources that i have i tested removing of one node from a 2 nodes RAC and adding it back , but the home files were already installed there !
    Thanks !

  • Workaround for using Oracle JDBC extension with WLS pooling

    Reading the newsgroup I saw that many of us encountered the problems
    with ClassCastException when tried to use Oracle JDBC extension
    with WLS pooling. I also had.
    In this case BEA recommends to use dangerous
    method getVendorConnection() which exposes
    the physical connection object to your code.
    Yes it's really dangerous because of unsafe usage may breaks
    WLS pooled connection(s).
    Moreover, this practice will make your JDBC code
    unportable (your JDBC code in addition to Oracle dependence
    became Weblogic dependent):
    void doSmth() {
    Connection con = ...;
    Connection vCon = ((WLConnection)con).getVendorConnection();
    // + mess of usage con in one places and vCon in others
    // (where Oracle extensions are needed)
    // !Don't forget to don't close vCon!
    Sux.
    I found the workaround.
    Introduction
    ============
    Yes the real cause of ClassCastException is that
    in depth of Oracle driver the casting
    to class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection
    (not to interface oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection)
    is performed.
    Someone can say that this is bug or pure desing.
    Weblogic pooled connection provide dynamic
    implementation for all public interfaces
    which real physical (wrapped) connection object implements.
    Great feature!
    But I guess that all interface methods implemented
    by simple call-delegation to physical (wrapped) connection object.
    In case of oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection interface
    this approach doesn't work for at least one its method:
    public OracleConnection unwrap()
    WLS pooled connection shoudn't implement this method by
    delegation to physical connection object BUT should
    return physical connection object itself!
    // Wrong implementation of unwrap()
    // delegation is used
    public OracleConnection unwrap() {
    return physicalConnection.unwrap();
    // Right implementation of unwrap()
    // physical connection returned
    public OracleConnection unwrap() {
    return physicalConnection;
    Workaround
    ==========
    1. Develop your own OracleConnection wrapper class:
    import oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection;
    import weblogic.jdbc.extensions.WLConnection;
    public class MyOracleConnectionImpl implements OracleConnection {
    private OracleConnection con;
    public MyOracleConnectionImpl(OracleConnection connection)
    throws SQLException
    this.con = connection;
    public OracleConnection unwrap() {
    return (OracleConnection)
    ((WLConnection)con).getVendorConnection();
    /* Implement all other methods by delegation to con object */
    2. Don't get Connections directly from DataSource --
    develop your own simple (may be static) utility
    class which retrives Connections from dataSource
    and returns them wrapped into your MyOracleConnectionImpl
    to your code from some method:
    puclic abstract class MyConnectionSource {
    public static Connection getConnection() {
    Connection con = // get it from DataSource
    return new MyOracleConnectionImpl((OracleConnection)con);
    3. Add attribute RemoveInfectedConnectionsEnabled="false"
    to definition of your JDBCConnectionPool within config.xml
    You may do it because of you `safely` use vendorConnection --
    you don't expose it to application code.
    4. Enjoy the Oracle JDBC extensions in your code!
    Example:
    Connection con = MyConnectionSource.getConnection;
    ArrayDescriptor add =
    ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("your_type", con);
    Hope it helps to someone.
    Best regards,
    Eugene Voytitsky

    Hello Eugene Voytitsky,
    Thanks Eugene Voytitsky for your idea
    I have tried the solution suggested by You, but it did not work.
    It still throws ClassCastException.
    I am sorry for posting the whole code of two classes below.
    I did this to give you more clarity.
    I am also indicating the place where the exception was thrown..

  • Can I use Oracle Report Server to print from APEX? How?

    Hello, we have Oracle Application server, Oracle Report server and now we just installed APEX and doing a pilot project. Since we don't have BI Publisher, how can we use our Oracle Report server to print from apex report? Can it be done and if yes where can I get some detail info that I can share with our DBA?
    I have in past asked questions about the printing issues but I have been refered to http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html#01 section 5 which talks about another installation.
    Thanks so very much for any info.

    You can use FOP, but the formatting of the xsl (Xml Style Sheets) takes a little work. If you have the Oracle Reports server up and access to the development product, why not go that route?
    You want the filtering and sorting and searching, yes, but then you also want to print them out.. Then you would probably be best looking at replacing the Oracle Reports setup with BI Publisher. You can convert Most your reports over to bi publisher layouts easily.. (I have heard of some reports that do require recreating in Bi Publisher from Oracle Reports..)
    Then you can have your Apex Reports and call Bi Publisher from APEX and everyone wins..
    Is your Oracle Reports stuff used by non-APEX applications, that could be modified to use Bi Publisher?
    Thank you,

  • Creating reports using oracle application server

    Hello All,
    I am a complete newbie with Oracle Application Server(OAS) and Oracle reports. My task is to generate HTML and PDF reports using OAS. The current application has a aspx pages(ASP.NET as front end) which calls a third party tool Fast Radar Report which fetches data as per the user need(like month, day, year, product name....) and displays it in a grid format. I have to remove the FastRadar part and use OAS's OracleAS Reports Services components to generate those reports
    I went through chapter 12 of Oracle.Application.Server.10g.Essentials by OReilly 2004 edition
    It briefly glances through that part. But, it seems to mention about Oracle Reports something like "Oracle Reports has a wizard-based frontend called Oracle Reports Developer that can build reports. Oracle Reports Developer is part of the Oracle Developer Suite. The reports created with Oracle Reports Developer can be deployed to the Web using OracleAS Reports Services support in Oracle Application Server."
    I am unclear what to do. Do I need to create the report format in Oracle Reports using wizard-based frontend called Oracle Reports Developer and then deploy it using OracleAS Reports Services?
    Or, is there a way to create the report format using OracleAS Reports Services without using Oracle Reports. I am told we have just OAS installed, don't know if Oracle reports is installed or not as it is done on a remote site.
    Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    One has to develop reports using Oracle Reports developer and then has to deploy it into the application server. To do so you need the Oracle developer suite installed, this has wizards which can be used to develop reports.

  • Using oracle thin driver from Weblogic server 6.1

    Hi
    I need to know which driver is best for establishing JDBC Connection i.e.
    whether to use JDriver provided with Weblogic or to go using Oracle thin driver.
    Can some one tell the detailed procedure involved in configuring oracle thin driver
    in Weblogicserver 6.1.
    Thanks in advance,
    S Gopikrishna

    I would recommend using the thin driver where ever possible, their are
    certain problems with thin driver which are more in the area of XA support
    you can check weblogic documentation for pointers on this. Oracles latest
    thin driver is pretty stable as they have fixed a bunch of problems.
    heres how to use thin driver:
    create the connection pool using the following url
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@<mc-name or ip-address>:<port-no>:<oracle sid>
    and driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    You dont have to install the thin driver its bundled with the product.

  • Issues using Oracle SQL server Developer migration work bench

    Hi all,
    We are trying to migrate the application databases from SQL server 2000 to Oracle 10g using Oracle SQL Developer 1.2.1.32.13:
    Following is the list of issues that we faced while trying out this migration on dev environment.
    1. The data migration was successful for only around 90 tables out of the total 166 tables present. No error message was logged for the rest of the tables but still it was completed.
    2. Some of the tables which had got the data inserted did not have the full data. Only some of the rows were inserted for these tables. Error message was logged only for few of the rows and not all.
    3. Few error messages were logged which said problems about “Inserting ' ' into column <tablename>.<columnname>”. There was no such constraint in the target database that the particular column can not be null or can not have only a space. Please check the logs for the same error messages.
    4. The status box at the end of migration had shown only 3 errors.
    5. The total data for migration was around 500MB. The time taken for migration was around 75 minutes. Are there any optimization techniques that will improve the performance?
    Please note that there were no Foreign Key references for the source schema or target schema.
    Any pointers/info/resolutions related to above mentioned issues will be much useful for us.
    Thanks,

    Hi Adam,
    There are 2 sets of scripts created for you.
    1) For SQL Servers BCP to dump out the data to dat files
    2) For Oracles SQL*Loader to load the dat files
    You run the SQL Server BCP scripts on the machine with SQL Server.
    The dat files will be dumped out on that server.
    You can then move the dat files to your Oracle server.
    Then run the Oracle SQL*Loader scripts to load the dat files into Oracle.
    Give it a go and follow the doc and viewlets.
    Your Questions:
    So the datadump from the source location would be saved on my local disk?it will be saved on the same machine you run the bcp scripts from. Usually the same machine SQL Server is on, because you require SQL Server BCP tool.
    So once it is migrated to the destination database will that dump be created automatically? Or do I need to modify the script to take care of this?I dont know what you mean by this, hopefully above clears things up.
    The only modifications you need to make to the scripts are adding in the databasename username password servername. These are outlined in the scripts themselves. I would want to do something fancy like dump the dat files to a different directory, then you can modify the scripts, but you should understand what they do first.
    Most people would have 500MB of space on their discs , so I can see the problem creating these dat files . The same goes for your 30 GB database.
    I hope this helps, but as always you wont get a good idea of how it works until you give it a go.
    Regards,
    Dermot.

  • Implementing SSL in Apex3.2.1 using Oracle HTTP Server 11.2g

    Could anyone please point me at any up-to-date documentation that deals with implementing SSL on Apex3.2.1 and 11.2g Standard One Oracle HTTP Server or something close.
    I'm using Windows 7 with Browser, HTTP Server and database all on the same machine for testing purposes.
    I have done the following from what I have found so far:
    In Oracle Wallet Manager I have created a Certificate Request, sent that to a CA and then imported the Trial SSL Certficate, Trial Secure Server Intermediate CA and Test CA Root Certificate from the CA.
    I have updated Apex Admin Services/Manage Service/Instance Settings/Wallet with
    file:directory-path and wallet password.
    I rebooted the machine to restart all the services, in case I missed any.
    However when I change the url from http to https and this is the only change I make then page not found appears. It maybe I need to change the port or some conf files but I'm not sure.
    Thanks

    There is also DRM and Strategic Finance that use IIS, here is the oracle doc on it http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_start_here_11121/ch06s03s02.html
