Creating An Interface

I have implemented four algorithms and I now want a GUI to show the different algorithms with their respective use.
I implemented searching and sorting algorithms and was wondering how i could create a nice interface.
Anyone know some sort of framework for the coding?
Thanks

  • [Solved]How to create ADF interface View

    Hi All,
    I have a design problem that I need some help with.
    In one of the pages in our application, we have two drop down boxes one with account type and another with account name (label) and account number (value).
    The account types are Escrow, Credit and Misc (some other types). all three types are in three different tables.
    Now the problem is, in the page when the account type is selected, the second drop down box should be filled with respective account numbers.
    So my question is Can I create an interface view and implement in all three different account type views and use it for second drop down box.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Thanks

    You might do a VO with a union of the three tables - use a custom SELECT like this:
    SELECT 'Escrow' account_type, account_number, balance, ... FROM escrow_accounts
    UNION
    SELECT 'Credit', account_number, balance, ... FROM credit_accounts
    UNION
    SELECT 'Misc.', account_number, balance, ... FROM misc_accountsUse NULL for any column in a table that does not have that column. I'm not sure if you can use Entity Objects (one EO per table) with such a VO to make the data updatable - it might have to be a read-only VO.
    Or create a database view with this SELECT and base the VO on that view instead of a table. You can even make the view updatable with INSTEAD OF triggers and base an EO on the view.

    You may find this suggestion useless, but I thnk you should seriously consider tossing your IDE in the trash and getting a good text editor and hand coding Swing until you understand how Swing components work.
    Take shortcuts when you understand where they will lead. You will find that hand coding really leads to a deeper understanding of any programming language.
    While you're at it, why don't you consider whether you really need eleven (!) toolbars in your GUI. A GUI generally needs only one toolbar -- save some for later.

  • ODI Groovy Script to create an interface

    Hi,
    I'm working on ODI 11.1.16 and trying to create an interface using Groovy Scripts. It throws me an error "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: DataStore shouldn't be null "
    Below are my assumptions
    Source datastore : Groovy_Source
    Target datastore : Groovy_Trgt
    Context : Global
    Stndrd conn: localhost,1521,orcl
    def file = new File('c:/interfaces.txt')
    def s = 0
    Interfaces.txt contains : TEST1,SOURCE,DUMMY_GROOVY_SOURCE,STAGING,DUMMY_GROOVY_TRGT
    DataSet dataSet = odiInterface.getDataSets().get(0);
    OdiDataStore odiDatastore1 = ((IOdiDataStoreFinder)odiInstance.getTransactionalEntityManager().getFinder(OdiDataStore.class)).findByName(DUMMY_GROOVY_SOURCE,Oracle);
    OdiDataStore targetDatastore = ((IOdiDataStoreFinder)odiInstance.getTransactionalEntityManager().getFinder(OdiDataStore.class)).findByName(DUMMY_GROOVY_TRGT,Oracle);
    It throws an error here any help is appreciated
    Thanks

  • Best way to create user interfaces

    Hello Everyone,
    So far my work with sap NetWeaver  development was on the background processes but now i need to create some user interfaces, i read there are more than one way to do this like jsp, HTMLB , WebDynpro , and some others i think.
    Can you give me some advises (and guides if it's possible) about what can i use?
    The user interfaces must have the same look and feel as the SAP modules. I need to include some uploadcontrols, table views with sorting and paging features, buttons, list box, options buttons, check buttons, etc.
    Also i need to send emails on demand and a task scheduler to send remaining by email.
    Is there a user interface designer like dreamweaver or something like that to create user interfaces?
    Hope you have some time to help me.
    Regards.

  • Do we need to create message interfaces for idocs and rfcs thatare imported

    do we need to create message interfaces for idocs and rfcs thatare imported
    from sap server
    in scenarios from sap system to file or vice versa
    i knew that we need not create message types
    do we also skip creating message interfaces

    hi,
    you create an abstract message interface for IDOC only if you want to use
    them in a BPM (integration process)
    for more about IDOCs have a look at my book:

  • Creating JMX interface-script

    Hi to all,
    I want to create an interface script/programm, so as to be able to query JMX enabled applications and retrieve the results.
    I know very little about Java (unfortunately), while I am very strong in perl.
    How to do it ?
    Is there something ready?
    What do you suggest ?
    Kind regards,
    alexk

    Hello,
    if you plan to develop an application to interact with a remote application instrumented with JMX you could perhaps have a look to the Web Services Connector for JMX (downloadable from http://ws-jmx-connector.dev.java.net/). It (also) allows non Java application to interact with JMX/Java application. The interaction is done thanks to SOAP messages conveying WS-Management requests.
    Some WS-Management libraries can help you develop such interaction VBScript (Microsoft WinRM) and Perl (VMWare ViPerl).
    This document describes JMX interoperability with non Java application : http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/core/mntr-mgmt/javamanagement/JSR262_Interop.pdf
    Another alternative could be to use the REST access to JMX (an OpenDMK contribution). It only allows you to retrieve MBean names and attributes. Setting attributes, invoking operations and notification handling have not yet been developed : https://opendmk.dev.java.net/contributions/index.html

  • Naming standard for creating a interface

    Hi,
    This question to be silly but i want to know
    Is there any naming standards to create any interface
    like in staging i defined WC_Dim_DS ( warehousecustom table_name dimension staging )
    how normally a ODI project naming conventions......?
    For interfaces/packages
    Any suggestions?
    thanks,
    saichand.v

    My Suggestion is
    I_<Target DB>_<Target Schema>_<Target Table>
    But if you are loading the table with 2 or more interfaces then you should add an explanation at the end. Explanation can be source system or purpose.
    I_<Target DB>_<Target Schema>_<Target Table>_<Explanation>
    And definitely schema and table name should contain some kind of metadata. For example divide staging table and final target tables into different schema such as STG and DWH.

  • Creating Model Interfaces for GUI Layer

    I'm trying to avoid directly using a class from my model layer in my GUI. But I need to use a method in my class lets say, "setPropertyFoo(object)". So is it worthwhile to create an interface for my class, have my class implement the interface, and then use the interface in my view layer just for this one method? And the broader more general question is, is there a point at which one should not create interfaces? Are interfaces, though a standard of proper OOP programming, ever a symptom of an underlying poor design structure if they are needed in some way? I would hope not but I'm still learning.
    // Model layer
    public class MyClass implements MyInterface
         private Object foo;
         // For simplicity
         public void setPropertyFoo(Object obj)
              foo = obj;
    public interface MyInterface
         // Just this...Just this one method...
         public void setPropertyFoo(Object obj);
    // View layer...
    MyInterface face = Factory.createMyClass();
    public void valueChanged(ListSelectionEvent event)
         <.....>
         face.setPropertyFoo(list.getSelectedValue());

    Your response sounds sensible to me. Thanks.
    Part of any piece of software will be about behavior.
    Part will be about data. Face it, a lot of what
    software does is move data around. IMHO, at boundaries
    between layers or modules (e.g. the DTO/DAO/VO for
    moving data between a database and your program), or
    wherever conversion occurs (to/from XML for instance)
    you may need some getters and setters.I agree.
    I try to avoid get/set in my code, but if I find I'm
    writing a whole bunch of goop just to achieve that
    grail, I stop and think about whether concealing that
    particular object's state really needs to be
    sacrosanct. And when I do provide access to that data,
    it's not just blind get/set that sets or returns any
    and all fields directly.This is helpful. It makes me think that there may be alternative means of achieving the same end without directly calling "set" on a field. Interesting.
    Off the top of my head, if
    you're doing a lot of passing objects as parameters to
    methods that just call getters and setters and act on
    the results, as opposed to saying
    object.doSomethingThatModelsABusinessAction().This is helpful too. I think I see what you are saying here.
    Using my example in the first post, I could modify it and say...
    // View layer...
    MyInterface face = Factory.createMyClass();
    public void valueChanged(ListSelectionEvent event)
         face.selectionResponse(list.getSelectedValue());
    // Then the model class...
    Public class MyClass implements MyInterface
         private Object foo;
         // For simplicity
         private void setPropertyFoo(Object obj)
              foo = obj;
         public void selectionResponse(Object obj)
              setPropertyFoo(obj);
              // At least this gives the object more control
              // over whether or not to set the property at the
              // selection...
    }But I also appreciate what you've shared about the danger of the extreme point of view. From just what I've tried, I've been able to determine that it is possible to twist up a simple application and create more design flaws by attempting to eliminate each and every set or get method. So It's reassuring that I can leave some in where it makes sense to do so.
