Creating an Iso in terminal

So im all into making batch files for the mac, so i want to make a script that will make an iso of a disk. So i found a tut online but i want to make this automated.
Hers the tut.
1. Insert CD/DVD source
2. Fire up a Terminal, you can then determine the device that is you CD/DVD drive using the following command:
$ drutil status

3. Umount the disk with the following command:
$ diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk1
Disk /dev/disk1 unmounted
4. Create the ISO file with the dd utility (may take some time):
$ dd if=/dev/disk1 of=file.iso bs=2048
5. Test the ISO image by mounting the new file (or open with Finder):
$ hdid file.iso
6. The ISO image can then be burnt to a blank CD/DVD.
So i want this to pop up in an executable file (i can handle that) That promps me what disk i want like /dev/disk1 i want the (1) to be change-able in a prompt. Thats all.

Use the Disk Utility in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder to convert the dmg to a DVD/CD master, and change the extension on the master to .iso.

i made few disks wite menu in the past & i had not problems at all

-I'm guessing that at some point, you probably downloaded the Windows 8 preview, yes? For whatever reason, when you go to do it "for real," the Windows 8 setup doesn't overwrite the old file, called the "WebSetup"
folder. If that folder is still there, you'll get the "Sorry, something happened and we couldn't finish creating the ISO. Restart setup and try again" message.
The location of the folder is at: C:\%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebSetup
where %UserProfile% is the user account you downloaded it under (probably your default account) - this is the folder you need to delete.
Once that folder is deleted, run the Windows 8 setup file (found here: http:// windowsdotmicrosoftdotcom/en-US/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only if
you haven't, like me, already downloaded it 8 different times thinking it was a corrupted file), and it should prompt you at that point for your product key - which is something it wasn't doing for me. After that, you can choose to make it an ISO, run
it normally, run it from USB, etc.

You make an regular dvd using dvdstudiopro. Once you do the build you need to create an iso image.

Creating an ISO file from a bunch of BUP, IFO, VOB files

Hi
First, i want to apologize to all of you if my question is already answered somewhere, i did a search before.
I have a bunch of BUP, IFO, VOB files (from an entire DVD) that i would like to burn into a single .ISO file.
I am looking for the best software to do this. I would have used ImgBurn on my PC i guess... But with my iMac?

Yes, the question has been answered before, several times.
The only difference is that you want to create an ISO image, which usually means a raw disk image from another OS (eg, Win or Linux), although Mac OS X can attach or burn such an image.
If you want to create a DVD-Video disc image, then you must use a tool specifically designed for it, if you want to use the image to create DVDs which will play in stand-alone DVD players. That's because such DVDs require a rigid disc layout.
If you want to go commercial, you can use Toast or NTI DragonBurn. Otherwise, Burn, suggested by Alberto Ravasiomay also be a good solution (I'm not sure if it can save disc images, rather than burn them). Other solutions are

Both can burn DVD-Video; I'm not sure if they can save as a disc image.

The Mac SuperDrive built into your Mac is the Optical drive.
1. Insert your Windows DVD in Optical drive. Disconnect any external storage.
2. Insert a USB2 Flash drive. This will be used to hold the BC drivers.
3. Start BCA. Check the options to download software and Install Windows. You do not need to download Windows. The BCA will download the BC drivers to the USB.
4. Partition your drive.

I'm using a 2014 iMac and a Win 8.1 64bit install disc with bootcamp. I created the ISO according to the instructions but when I selected it in bootcamp I got the following error "Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 or later..."

Bootcamp rejects the ISO file made from a windows 8.1 disc with the error message "Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for Windows 7 or later installation."
How do I get past this?

No the ISO is just 64bit. I bought a shrink wrapped copy of 8.1 full version. It has two discs, one for 32bit and one for 64bit. I used the 64bit disc.
I inserted it in an older iMac that has a dvd drive, and shared that across to my new iMac. I used disc utility to create a disc image following instructions I found here...

This created an ISO file. I then went into bootcamp but when I tried to use the ISO file to create a boot USB it failed with the error above.

Can I install a time machine backup after creating a fusiondrive via terminal?

I have a Macbook Pro early 2011 with ssd and hdd. I would like to have a Fusiondrive and found a way to create it in the terminal. Do I have to reinstall Lion again or can I use my latest backup which I made from ssd and hdd? there are no further partitions except bootcamp.

You should reinstall OS X and then, restore the Time Machine backup using Setup Assistant. That's because Fusion Drive is created by software, and if you restore the whole Time Machine backup, you will disable Fusion Drive.
Note that you have to reinstall OS X erasing the OS X volume, and then, reinstall it as a clean install. Then, when the installation finishes, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so do it

JasperReports Integration PDF is created with ISO-8859-1 instead of UTF-8

This is a strange problem i'm struggling with. Since about one month the PDF's are created with the wrong character set. Instead of UTF-8 (this is also given as a parameter calling the procedure as you see below) the PDF are always created with ISO-8859-1.

It looks like the procedure UTL_HTTP.get_header ignores the encoding parameter and overwrites it with ISO-8859-1. I also tried to set it with UTL_HTTP.set_header before calling UTL_HTTP.get_header buth that didn't help either.
Then I started the JVM is started with the UTF-8 option and that made no change.
There were no new installation on Oracle, tomcat or JasperReports side. So I'm wondering what has caused this string behaviour.
Does anyone had this problem before or has a solution for it?

Create CD iso's from a DVD

Is it possible to take a DVD disc and create CD iso's to use in a laptop that doesn't have a DVD drive?

I guess you could transfer the DVD.iso to the laptop using cd's (tar the dvd contents to several chunks not exceeding 700MB) or other types of storage and then mount the DVD.iso without burning it to a DVD (directly from your hard drive)

If I create an ISO, will my DVD-ROM content be Included?

Hey all - If I tell Encore to create an ISO image of my project (to burn with Nero later), will it also include the DVD-ROM content I selected, or is it ISO strictly the TS folders? I'm hoping it comes along, because the version of Nero I have won't let me add any top-level folders to the DVD when I burn it. Thanks.

The image file will include any ROM content you added in Encore.

First of all the sicf transaction is to be used only if you use the internal ITS.
Now you have to put an external breakpoint in the source code of the ABAP Program or FM you want to debug , one of these in your case :

I want to create an ISO from the 8.1 DVD on my old iMac

My current iMac is a 2011 i5 3.1, 1tb, 6970 GPU, 27 inch variety. I want to use this machine to create an install USB for my new iMac which of course has no DVD. I have a copy of 64 bit 8.1 WIndows on DVD. My current machine has Windows 7 installed, do I need to remove this before Bootcamp will give me the options of creating the bootable USB? Do I need to source the ISO somewhere else or can I create it from the DVD? I heard I can make a MSDN account, free at that, and download a trial 8.1 ISO image but I am concerned it might not work even if I give it a valid key.
