Creating an XY graph with history

Hello,
I'm looking to create an XY graph in LabView 2013 that keeps a history of points visually on the graph. I created a simple VI to do a simple export to excel data log but it would be helpful to be able to see the point that I am saving in a graph format as well as with indicators. I have the indicator part well oiled but the graph is giving me a problem.
Idealy I would like to be able to just run a wire from Signal A to an X axis and a wire from signal B to a Y axis (from DAQ assist select signal function), with the ability to keep all previous points through the entire test. All the examples I have come across do not use DAQ Assist, which makes me wonder if this graph is even possible. Being a novice in labview I would love a solution that just uses signals from DAQ assist.
The points I am recording should be linear(ish) in nature
Thanks.

Use a shift register, or feed back node to keep a history which you build.  But be aware that you need an upper limit.  You can't let your array reach infinite size, because we don't have infinite memory.  Have it check the size and then if it is greater than some size, get a subset.

Here's a quick example I threw together that generates a sort-of-bell-curve shaped data distribution, then performs the binning and plotting.

  • How to create a column graph with colors per set of values

I need to create with Microsoft Excel, a column graph that based on different values, each column will contain different color.
    To be precise:
    E.g.:
    - Green: If it is 0
    - Orange: If it is between 0 and 10
    - Red: If it is more than 10
I would appreciate to help me how to do this.

    Hi EriValidata,
According to your description, I get the result as shown in the following figure.
Is this a correct result? If yes, this is an excel chart with conditional formatting. Please try the following steps to create the chart.
To accomplish this task, you will need to create three additional columns of data and plot those three columns of data-and not the original column of sales data – in a stacked column chart. As shown in the figure.
And the formula in C2 is: =IF(AND(B2>0,B2<=10),B2,0). The formula shows the value in column C if it falls between the limits in rows 0 and 10; otherwise it shows 0. The formula is filled into the range C2:E4.
Then we select the source data with A2:A4 and C1:E4, as shown in the figure to insert a column chart. The chart now shows 3 sets of colored bars, one for each data range of interest.
And I upload a TEST2.xlsx file on OneDrive, you can download this file via this link:

    Hope it’s helpful.

  • Creating a simple graph with time and values?

I think I'm probably just plain stupid that I can't seem to get this done, but I've been trying now for two hours and tryed the help section so some one please help!
I have a table with quite a lot of columns.
First column is the years, the other column are prices values for different regions.
Why can't I pick two regions and plot them against the years????
I can pick two regions and plot them, but then I don't get the years underneath.
When I try to add the years, it also ends up as a value on the y-axis, while I want those as the x-axis.
This can't be difficult... even in Excel it took me five minutes to get it, so why not here??????
    null

A Scatter Graph takes an extra step (or two).
Make Table with Header Row and create Columns for each data pair.
    Select data.
    Select Scatter Graph.
Adjust X-Axis Ranges and Steps (Select Labels).

  • Service Interface: How to create an SDO graph with tow Objects

    Hi,
I want to create a Web service interface on top of my application module. Using the Service Interface I select the app mod, service methods and view objects from the data model. My data model consists of a master detail relationship. The Web service should provide an interface that uses a master and its details as parameters in an operation.
For example a customer and his credit cards. A GET-Operation should return a data structure that groups all objects.
I do not know how I can configure such a web service.
How can I achieve such a web service?
Do I have to code a service method and what is the return type of the method?
Can I work with existing VOs?
Do I need 'special' preconditions like a composition between master and detail?
    Any idea?
    Thanks,

    Hi Scott
Bad news. I read several time this thread, but I have not found error in my program ... .
And I can not see what are really doing APIs of APEX.
Time is going - so we have make a decision now.
Probably (as I have no more answers at this forum) - we can not use APEX (as nobody using APEX sessions as I asked),
as we can not manage its sessions programmatically (too risky).
    Thanks for your answer.

  • How to create multi axis graph with 2 on change of fields and 2 values

    Hi all,
i am working for a Semi conductor company and I have been madated to evaluate Crystal report 2008 in order to include it in our legacy software.
So I have tested the soft and it seems to fit to our need.
    But I have a question...
Here is a scenario i want to create in crystal but I have an error message..
Can you please tell me if twant I want to achieve is feasisible...and if so how ?
    Thank you
I would like to create a percent bar chart that contains 2 on change of fields and 2 show values.
The idea behind in then to have a mutli axis chart in order to print as a line the second values.
So the first values will be my bar chart in percentage and the second value will be a sum.
    Hope my description is cleat...
Thank's in advance for your support...
    Have a good day

There are different ways to achieve that. The simplest i could recall is to have 2 different charts, 1st bar chart and 2nd a line chart, lay one over the other and enable the transparency on the chart which on Top ( say Line ). also, crystal will allow you to control axes etc and make them transparent..

  • How to create ONE graph with a growth trend ($ and %)?

I would like to create a graph with a growth trend.
The graph should have figures on one side reflecting $ values and on the other % growth.
I cannot make a trend on the same graph and usually spend ages adding another graph to show the trend. I end up making 2 graphs instead of one.
Please refer to the following really basic graph that will give you an idea.
    ex : http://www.tellurideareahomes.com/images/graph1.jpg
Can anyone show how to do that?

What you want requires a bit of trickery.
    Chart the bar graph
    Chart the trend
then move the trend one above the bar one after setting its background to none.
If this workaround is not OK for you,
_Go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu_, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'09 (possibly for iWork '99)

    Hi Libby,
Select all three columns of data. All three must be 'regular' columns, not Header columns, and the X values must be in the leftmost column.
Click the Charts button and choose the Scatter chart.
The resulting chart will initially show only the first and second columns of data, and the selection will have been reduced to show this.
Click the gear icon at the top left of the selection and choose Share X Values.
You should see a result similar to this:
    Notes:
The values on my sample table contain a random element, so they have changed from thhe first image to the second.
The chart is as created by Numbers, with two edits:
Data points have been connected with curves, using the Chart nspector.
The curves were selected and their stroke increased to 2pts, using the stroke formating button in the format bar.

    Post Author: KatyLu

Sorry if I confused...I am needing to create a graph with scales on both sides.  For example, revenue would be on the scale on the left and headcount needed to generate the revenue would be on the right scale.  Revenue scale would be between 1M and 6M, headcount scale would be in the hundreds, does this help describe what I am trying to do?  I used the Combination Chart in xcelsius and when I try to set the scale range for the x-axis minimum and maximum it is grayed out... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Create graphs with properties values

    Hello!
I want to create a Bar Graph or a normal graph with properties contained in ChannelGroup level. Is there any easy solution to this?, so far is seems that the only option is to create a channel with this values, but I don't want to duplicate the information since I have a considerable number of channels in each Channel Group.
Thanks in advance for the support!

    hello!
I know that you can get even the values or whathever property live values, name, etc. with the expresion form "@@ @@". However I want to plot, for example a bar graph that contains a numeric property of the group. Let's say that I have 3 Datasets all with a property "TotalFuel" and different values in each group, So what I will like to do is to plot this values in a 2DAxis object.  But it seems that all the plots or graphs are meant to be only channel oriented.
Do you understand my issue? Please let me know if not to clarified better this.
    Thanks!

  • Re-creating a pie chart with the pie graph tool...

    Hi,
    Hope you're well.
I've created a pie graph using the pie graph tool.
I'd like to create another one of the same size but when I enter in the exact same dimensions when it asks you to give the dimesions you want for the circle, the circle never matches what the measurements of the circle are that I want to copy.
Just to illustrate in case its not clear, the existing pie graph circle size is something like 500x500 px but when I type that in when I want to draw another one it does not match the size of the original.
Anyone know what might be going on?
Thanks so much for your help.

500x500 px but when I type that in when I want to draw another one it does not match the size of the original.
shouldnt happen if all is set correctly,
i presume you select the pie g tool and click on artboard then insert the dimensions in the pop up dialogue... if all is set correctly it could be (eg) a thicker stroke or a style applied to to the original... also make sure everything is set to px....

  • How do I create a NetBeans project with multiple JavaFX (FXML) dialogs?

I'm very new to Java and JavaFX, so forgive what is probably a question asked a thousand times, but I can't seem to find the answer.
I come from a Visual Studio (C# with WPF) background. I'm used to creating a Solution then adding a Project for each dialog/window that gets included in the Solution. Each dialog/window is a class derived from Window, and I simply create an instance of that class when I need to use the dialog.
What I need to do is have a main window (stage) that contains two lists of participants (a red team and a blue team).
Then I need a separate dialog for entering the information for the participant. So when a button on the main stage is pressed ("Add Red Participant"), I want to open the ParticipantDialog. When the "OK" or "Close" button on the Participant dialog is clicked, I want the dialog to be able to return a participant object to the main stage.
Then the main stage adds that participant to the appropriate list.
What I've gathered so far is that I will be creating an FXML file for the Participant dialog (and I assume an associated controller). Then when the "Add" button is pressed, I will call an FXMLLoader to load that FXML dialog. Something like this:
    FXMLLoader fxmlLoader = new FXMLLoader(getClass().getResource("ParticipantDialog.fxml"));
    Scene scene = (Scene)fxmlLoader.load();
    final Stage participantDialog = new Stage();
    participantDialog.setScene(scene);
First question is: is that correct so far? Am I at least on the right track?
Next question is: how or where do I create the FXML and controller files for the participant dialog using NetBeans? Should I create a separate project to make the participant dialog and then copy those files over, or is there a way to make the files within the parent project? And if I make the participant dialog in a separate project, what's the easiest way to access it from my main stage?
I feel like I'm missing something simple here because this seems a lot harder than it should be.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

    >  is that correct so far?
Yes the sample code you have is fine to launch a new dialog when your Add button is pressed .
    > I create the FXML and controller files for the participant dialog using NetBeans?
You can edit FXML text in NetBeans, but I think that is kind of tedious.
You might want to create the FXML using SceneBuilder.
You can use SceneBuilder in NetBeans.
You may want to get it working without FXML first.
For example, use the JavaFX scene graph API, then convert your program to use FXML once you are more comfortable with the JavaFX system.
The piecemeal approach cuts down on the amount of learning you need to do at one time.
    > Should I create a separate project to make the participant dialog and then copy those files over.
    No.
Just use a single NetBeans project.
You will have separate FXML files for your main stage and your participant dialog, but they will both be placed in the same NetBeans project.
    > is there a way to make the files within the parent project?
In NetBeans 7.3.1, do the following:
File | New Project | JavaFX | JavaFX FXML Application
This will create a sample project with a sample fxml file.
Modify the sample project files to get what you want, changing the sample fxml to your main stage fxml and adding a new participant fxml to the same directory.

That is one surefire way to not get any help and certainly not urgently. I suggest that you amend the title of your post to something that reflects the actual issue. This will also help anyone with similar issues to find the thread.
When posting code please put {noformat}{noformat} (with the curly brackets and the word code in lower case) above and below it to preserve formatting like this...
    {noformat}{noformat}
    SELECT *
    FROM emp
    {noformat}{noformat}
This will be displayed on the forum like this...SELECT *
    FROM emp
