Creating Browse CD Button in DW CS3

Greetings, Programs! (A little Tron humor...)
I have a CD that I am authoring and distributing to my
clients. On insertion, the CD opens an HTA with an iframe for the
main interface, which is an html file. At the top of this file is
my navigation bar. One of the options I have is to browse the CD.
From my harddrive, this works fine, opening to the folder in a new
window that my files are on. However, when I try to make it work
either emulated on DAEMON Tools or as a burned CD, it does nothing.
The html for my button is as follows (abridged):

It seems that something happens; the top blue Title Bar
flashes as if the HTA is moving to the background, but then no
window comes to the foreground. Windows Explorer is not called and
it goes back to its original state. The navigation page within my
HTA has another iframe within it; if I set my target to the
iframe's name "content", Windows Explorer shows up in the target
iframe. That would be fine, but the directory tree isn't visible,
it shows that simplified blue section thing (as if the folder
button isn't selected on the Windows Explorer toolbar). Is there a
way to make it happen either way, with Windows Explorer opening at
the root folder of the CD drive either as a new window or within my
content iframe with the directory tree? If so, does Javascript come
into play here, with some kind of command structure as
[href="javascript:parent.window.open('./','_blank');"] ? My
experience with JScript is minimal, but I am open to strecthing my
skillset. ;-p
One other thing: if anyone has a strong understanding of
HTAs, why is it that with my HTA maximized (HTA:APPLICATION
Windowstate="Maximized") I can't reveal the Windows Taskbar when I
move my cursor to the bottom? I can activate it via my keyboard
(Alt+Tab or the Windows button), but not with my mouse. Any ideas?

Allow me to chime in with my esteemed colleagues. The first issue I see is that you do not have a Window Defined. You need a window in order to select the Browse Sequence Option for the CHM.
In Project Set Up create a new window, selecting Microsoft HTML Help as the type
On the Microsoft HTML Help Options Dialog, give the Window a name such as "CHMWindow" (No spaces)
Be sure to "tick" the Browse Sequence option and click OK
Double click the Microsoft HTML Help Single Source Layout to bring up the HTML Help Options dialog
From the Default Window drop down, select the CHMWindow you created
Save and Generate
This will show the browse sequence "icon avenue" (the showy icons at the top of the CHM)
As for the Citrix thing. If the machine hosting the CHM being viewed has the HHActiveX.DLL installed, the CHM should display as advertised. Tell your Admin that Adobe licenses unlimited re-distribution of that DLL.

BTW, the reason the DLL was created in the first place is that Microsoft never provided a Browse Sequence or a Glossary tab in their "out of the box" offering so RoboHelp conveniently provides this to authors as a "extra".

How to Create a Back button in Flash

Hi all,
I need to create a back button for my flash app. It doesn't
need to be connected with Browser. It just need be able to remember
what frame they were viewing, and bring them back.
Is there any event I can use for this? I made an variable
called "visited:Number" and change it on every frame, but this
won't work. Once the user enters a new frame, the original visited
number is replaced by current already. I don't know how to hold
that number, before they leave the current frame.
Can anybody give me little clue/direction please?

I believe that you should look at the Forms functionality for UCM . Under Content Management - Web Form Editor will show up the editor where in you can add buttons and attach functionalities to it . With UCM 11g this is not available thus you might need to use AJAX to build the requirement .

Error 500 -Internal Server Error when I click on browse catelog button on Reports and Analytics in Fusion

I am unable to access Reports and Analytics . It throws a Error 500 -Internal Server Error when I click on browse catelog button on Reports and Analytics in Fusion
I have all the required roles and also BIADMINISTRATOR ACCESS still I am unable to login to Reports and Analytics. I have cleared the cache also.
My collegue who has the same roles is able to access it.

I created the showModule.xhtml in the web.view.module\src\main\resources folder and test the application and Now I'm getting the error in both deployment ways.
a) Local deployment: Same result

Creating a web page in Fireworks CS3

When I create a web page in Fireworks CS3 and export it the
page apears on the left side of the screan. I want it to be in the
center of the screan. How do I make it centered? I know that if I
open it in MS Front Page I can select page properties and center
the page in that program but how do I do it in Fireworks?

Look at NVu which is free and does a very decent job. I tried
it when it
was only in beta and it was promising although it couldn't

This is because, despite its flaws (and they are severe),
Fireworks'
exported code is less proprietary and more cross browser
compatible than
FrontPage's. I believed that later versions of FrontPage
created better
code but your story proves once again that no visual Web
"design"
application that falsely promise WYSIWYG is a substitute for
learning
the basics of Web design and development and getting your
hands dirty in
HTML and CSS code to understand how things work. Web design
is certainly
not only about the visuals and any designer who thinks he can
get away
with only creating Web sites visually without the need for a
working
knowledge of the underlying code is seriously delusional (not
saying
this is your case).
I do not mean you need to create your sites' code in NotePad
(which is
completely inefficient IMO). But you do need to understand
how things
work under the hood to make the right decisions in your
editor and be
able to fix problems. WYSIWYG is a pipe dream. Don't buy into
it.
Until you can afford something like Dreamweaver, NVu could
serve your
needs as it offers a source code view and apparently creates
decent code
out of the box. Learning to code HTML and CSS in a more text
based
application may be better for you in the long run if you are
serious
about learning this craft properly though. I'm sorry that I
cannot point
you to specific learning resources as it's been years since I
was a
beginner in this field and learned from too many sources. If
there is
one book I could recommend that I wish had been around when I
started
out in early 1996, it would be Zeldman's "Designing with Web
Standards".

Open a New Browser menu button

When I click the “open FlashPaper document in a new
browser window” button on the FlashPaper menu bar, a new
window opens showing a bunch of nonsense. The FlashPaper document
does not appear. This does not happen when I am viewing the pages
locally. What, if anything, am I doing wrong? and how can I fix it?
I do not need the "open FlashPaper document in a new browser" so
how can I generate a document without it?

Even if i create different regions , it is not possible for me to place them between items.
But anyways, I created a separate button in the same region and it works fine.

Dim Browser Service Button is not properly configured

I have created a report in Web Analysis Studio with a Dimension Browser service button, but when I open the report in Workspace the service button does not work. I am getting the following error message. "Dim Browser Service Button is not properly configured" Please let me know if I can use the Dimension Browser service button in Workspace.

In Desginer mode I added services to my view
I choose dimension browser from the options
selected the data source and changed the title.
When I open the report in Workspace I receive the error that its is not configyred properly
Please help

UIX Controller - using the browser back button

I'd like to understand more about the controller and what is going on behind the scenes when I hit the back button. It would appear that some form of page caching is taking place and I want to know if I can effectively get a refreshed version of a page (although in some cases it might be just some elements of a page). My application scenario is this:-
Having done a search, I select a row from a results table and add it to a short list (similar to shopping cart) which is then displayed. My search results page i.e. the previous page has a link to the shortlist with its text attribute databound to a string generated when items are added to the shortlist '3 items shortlisted'. When I hit the back button I get the state of the page before I added my item to the shortlist so the description is wrong. Hitting the browser refresh button displays the correct link text. Anyway I can force this behaviour? Is this what I should be trying to do or is there some best practice technique that I can use? There are several instances where I want to do this sort of thing.

In the Struts Framework, I have found code in the controller servlet, like this:

nocache is a boolean that gets initialized from a parameter specified in the web.xml!
multiple header fields for all different web browsers.
(how to set these header fields in JSP, over to someone else)
I can not remember if, when the user uses the Back button to return to a page with these header fields, he gets a 'Page Expires' message, or if the browser will automagically refresh the page.
(It might even be so that for example IE5 will refresh, and that IE6 will give the message)

Browser Back Button and form navigation

Some times when you use browser back button and adf-taskflow navigation buttons, validation on form fails, witout having made any change even with enabled token validation.
Reproduction steps on HR schema:
1. Create QueryDepartment and EditDepartment Views and navigation rules in adfc-config.xml
2 Create ADF view only table page for QueryDepartment selectable, and add navigation button to go to EditDepartment
3. Create EditDepartment form with navigation buttons and button to navigate back to QueryDepartment
test:
1.Run QueryDepartment and select a department
2.Go to Edit Department using navigation button
3.Navigate to next department pressing the 'Next' button
4.Navigate back using the Browser Back button.
5.Try to navigate back to QueryDepartment using the navigation button.
My result is validation error on DepartmentId field 'Error: JBO-25013: '

maybe I don't get it, but as I understood you have problem with focus on select button. So why don’t you set focus onLoad on another element of your page?
Something like onload=”$x(‘ELEMENT_NAME’).focus()”;

Sorry this reply isn't about creating mannual slideshow button, but it might help solving what you want. You said you want to "lets the user

What I did with my slideshow:
1. Drag all the photos in the slideshow
2. Check all the boxes "PAUSE" (this way the photo will stay still until the user press "next" of "previous" button in the the remote/ dvd player controller button)
3. Duplicate the last photo (by dragging from the DVDSP browser)and put it after it's clone.
4. DON'T check the box "Pause" for this duplicate
5. Set the duration for this duplicate to 15 frames (00:00:00:15)
Set the slideshow to "jump to xxx menu" when finish.
Now, what happen is, when the slideshow starts, the user will see the first slide freeze, and they will manually go back or forth from the player control (not the button on the dvd menu). When it come to the last slideshow, and they hit "next" it will transist to it's clone (that you duplicated), this clone is set to automatically transist after 15 frames and jump to XXX.
To make the users more aware of the "possibility of going back and forth", or simply to tell the user what the next/ previous slide is, you can create dummy "button" (I just do it with arrow symbol or text "Next" and "Previous") in the appropriate position on the slide. This "button" is only to tell the user there is a next and previous, it doesn't interact. But what it does is making the user press "next" and "back" in the controller.

Creating browse form

hi
i'm trying to make browse form from main form
when user click browse button, a new form show,
then user can choose data from grid in the browse form,
when user click ok button in the browse form,
the value should be return to the main form and browse form unload using dispose()the problem is
1.how to return value from inside the new created object (browse form) into the main form (the form that create browse form)
2.after form unload using dispose() , the value become null

Browser "back" button won't work when linked from Catalyst graphic

I am using Flash Catalyst in (CS5 Design Premium) because I am much more a print than web designer so bear with me.
I created a .swf file in FC, and placed it at the top of a "router index" page. I linked 10 "buttons" in the .swf, each to a different anchor on the "router index" page. Clicking on each "button" jumps to the correct anchor, so far so good.
The problem is, when I hit the browser "BACK BUTTON" in IE only (Safari and Firefox work fine), it does not jump back to the top of the "router index" page. It jumps back to a previously opened page (homepage or another page), instead of back to the FC .swf graphic on the "router index".
FC apparently only allows linking to "absolute" URL's, not "relative" URL's, (so my links to the anchors are "absolute"). I don't know if this is the source of the problem with IE. I have always linked to anchors previously in Dreamweaver using "relative" URL's, and have never encountered this problem.
I looked over the files that FC creates and cannot find one that I understand, or shows an editable file path that I can change.
I hope i don't have to buy Flash Builder. Right now I have Design Premium. And... I don't understand Actionscript.

Settings tab. My guess is that you have DE-selected the "Allow
backward movement" check box.

Robohelp 10 unable to create next/previous buttons in new TOC folder

Suddenly I'm unable to create next/previous buttons in new TOC folder. I create folder, add pages, go to Browse sequence editor, create new Browse Sequence, generate Multiscreen HTML & when it's through no browse sequence in shown ie no next/previous buttons. Help?

Silly question here. If you double-click the Responsive recipe in your Single Source Layouts folder, then click the Content section in the left panel, is/are your Browse Sequence(s) selected?
If not, perhaps that's the problem?
