Creating ColdFusion CMS
I am working on designing a RIA for my school district. I
update the main site while others update individual school web
pages. I want to make a ColdFusion CMS with pre-made Components
that these users can use to build their web pages. For example, if
I created a photo gallery and another person wanted to use it in
their site, is there a way for me to make a CMS that will include
the component in their page. Also, I would like many people to do
it without interfering with other people's pages. Is this
possible?

Hi there
Have you had a look at Sava - it seems to be a user friendly
ColdFusion
based CMS.
There are a few others out there as well.

Hi, I want to create a simple CMS site using coldfusion. I would like to have an 'add new page' button which will create a new html or coldfusion page and show the name of that page in the navigation bar as a link, can someone point me in the right direction of a tutorial or give me a clue to what code I should be using. I'm fairly new to Coldfusion and programming so any help would be much appreciated!!!
many thanksOne thing to consider before embarking on this sort of exercis is that you're setting out on well-trod ground.
Are you sure you want to be writing your own CMS when there are a number of well-established and free ones already out there?
Looking at FarCry or Mura would be my first step in any enterprise like this.

Hi,
I need some advice, looking at a 3rd pary cms and would like some suggestions. I need to be able to
- have mulitlingual pages
- add child pages to the main menu
- have flexible templates so users can create the child pages.
I am looking at Mura, has anyone had any experience of this?
Thanks.
H.Mura seems to offer what you seek, plus it's free. I only had a short experience with the Express version.
That is the demo version of the actual, standard version. I installed it on my desktop and gave it a whirl for about an hour. It's intuitive, quite easy to use, and its look-and-feel is plain and simple. That's what I like. It supports English, French and German.
I played with the demo because I had difficulty installing the standard version. But, then again, that was on Windows 2000 Pro. I finally got it to work, though, thanks to tips from Stephen Withington and his video on Mura installation. -

I am looking to create a Flex CMS for managing a school site.
I have an .xml file that is connected to my flex image gallery. To
make it easier on the people that need to edit or add information
about the photos I am looking to create a CMS. I realize that this
would involve using other technologies such as PHP but if someone
would like to assist me on this project I would be greatful. If
there is a way to do this I would also like to expand this to edit
HTML files as well. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
I was looking to Flex for this project because of the great
interface and possibities but it is not nessasary for me to use
this ( I could always go with a standard approach - HTML, PHP, etc.
ThanksThe project is a new extension to the school site for clubs
and organizations. I currently have a homepage and one club site
ready. The club site is for the art club hense the image gallery. I
do not want to be resoponsible for adding content for everyones
clubs and that is why i am looking towards CMS. I will have to
check about the permissions that can be given in regards to PHP nad
MySQL access as the server is shared for the entire school
district's websites. I will be trying to push access but in the
meantime I want to get started on the website.
Each club or organization will have its own login to give it
access to changing its own site. I do not want to give them any
access to the actual files on the server. In regards to the xml
file I will try to set it up in advance and not get them to edit it
as it will probably look intimidating with 100+ nodes.
I look forward to seeing what you have developed. I will
contact you via email with my contact information.
Thanks for the help,

How to use CMS Users with SAP BOPC NW 7.5
Hello,
I have problems importing and using CMS Users with BO PC 7.5 NW.
I am trying two types of CMS-users
1. CMS Enterprise Users created in CMS and using "Enterprise" authentication
2. SAP BW Users imported into CMS using their SAP authentication "secSAPR3")
but both don't work:
In the BOPC Admin Client, I can succesfully select Security->Users->"Add new Users". Both CMS "Enterprise Users" and CMS Users that use SAP authentication are displayed in the "Everyone" Group.
The CMS Enterprise Users are displayed as <username>, e.g. "Miller".
The CMS users with sap authentication are displayed as <SAPSystem><Client>/<SAPusername>, e.g. "KBE100/Smith".
Now If I try to import a user...
1. CMS Enterprise Users
If can successfully import CMS Enterprise Users and add them to the ADMIN Team, e.g. "Miller".
The problem is they can't be used to log in to the Admin Client and Excel Client:
E.g. I enterUser-ID "Miller" and his CMS-Enterprise-password under password after starting Excel Client, an error message shows up: "The UserID, Password or Domain cannot be authenticated. Go back and make sure you entered valid credentials" ... (same error message as if the user wouldn't exist/wrong pw.).
Seems the user wasn't added as BO PC user. Or do I need to use any prefix before the "user ID" for CMS Enterprise users in the User_ID field instead of just "Miller"?!
2. CMS Users which use SAP-authentication (users imported into CMS from BW and use SAP-authentication)
In the BO PC Admin Client, I can't import them: I go through "1. User Setup" select "KBE~100/Smith", "2. User Detail", "3. Assignments", but if I am in "4. Finish" and click on "Apply", the following error shows up:
"Failed to create directory \root\Webfolders\<AppSetName>\<Appname>" for "KBE~100/Smith".
My guess is that the operating system doesn't like the "/" in the Username - but I guess this can't be changed bc. these Users from CMS and are already displayed with the "/" between SAPSystemID~ClientNummer and username in the User-list in BOPC Admin Client!
side remark: if I create a SAP CMS Enterprise user which contains a "/" in the username (on pupose ), I am getting the same error message.
Any help, explanations and workarounds are greatly appreciated - Any solution will be awarded with maximum points!
Best Regards and thanks a lot for your help!Hi Florian,
The problem seems indeed the file system on the bw not being able to handle "/". The automatic user import from the bw role into the CMC does not give you an option to replace the "/" character with anything else.
This should solve it:
- Go to the CMC double click the user. Delete the server part "KBE100/" and click save. Make sure the default system is set to "KBE100". The user should now be able to login from BPC with the user Smith.
Good luck,

Thanks in AdvanceHi Ankur,
As per the error message you entered the issue might occur because the Oracle CMS database reside in a different network or there is a network delay between BO server and database server. Please refer KBA 1706849 and try following steps.
Confirm that the CMS database and BO server are in same network
Try to ping database server from BO server and check the reply. The reply should come in 1 ms
Confirm with DBA whether there are 14 connections established to CMS database
Stop the SIA and restart your database schema. Then start the SIA and try login
Please let us know error messages in Event viewer if this is a Windows server and also is this a clustered environment ?

CMS (Content Management System)
Hi,
Firstly and quickly some background. I have a web design and development company and am currently bringing my company into the 21st century by revamping my site and my method of developing sites from a fixed width layout to a responsive layout using sass + compass and Zurb’s foundation framework.
I would like to add a built in content management system into my site that will allow my clients to log into an account set up for them via my website which will allow them to edit certain elements of their site such as text and images as well as adding in additional content / pages. Something that would allow me to wrap a class round elements of sites to show which sections I want to be editable by my clients would be ideal.
Ideally I would like to find a method / tutorial to build my own robust reliable easy to use CMS so I don’t have to pay a third party.
I don’t mind using third party software but it has to be able to be integrated into my site so my clients can edit content on their site through mine. Also I don’t want the CMS part of my site to have another company’s logo etc.
Hope this all makes sense, any help that can be given is much appreciated.
Kind regards
Elliot. All the websites I build are based on a custom CMS that I've been refining over five years.
If, as you say, you want to build your own CMS, here are some points:
1. You must be able to write PHP and SQL code effortlessly. Also know some javascript.
2. Allowing clients to upload and edit material on the site raises many security issues, which must be addressed. You must build the CMS so that if a hacker breaks into it, the damage would be minimal. Also, clients may "unwitingly install material you don't want to allow, like javascript.
3. If clients have the ability to create new pages, then they must also be given the ability to manage their menu system. Assuming that the menus are multi-level, this is more complex to program than just giving clients text boxes to add content to.
There is a book on creating a CMS called "Buid your own database driven website using php & mysql," but it's outdated and has many shortcomings.
PHP Solutions by Powers will teach you many of the things you need to build a CMS, although it's up to you to put it all together.
Unless you need to build a CMS that has complex features that no off-the-shelf CMS can accommodate, then I suggest you not try. Instead of learning to build your own CMS, apply your time to learning Drupal, Joomla, or even WordPress. Then modify your existing websites to work with the CMS. -

Basically, yes. There are several different approaches to this, and
BEA provides a guide outlining the proper way to do so. You used to
be able to just search for it on BEAs site, but I can no longer locate
it. I have a copy of it for WLPS 3.1.1 if you'd like a copy. FWIW, I
have as of yet had no success getting this scenario to actually work.
I'll help in any way I can but again, I have yet to see it actually
work.

Rajit,
You would have to write the BEA Service Provider Interface for your
vendor
yourself. Essentially this consists of implementing the interface onan
(Entity?) EJB. Refer to the content management documentation fordetails.
Once you have implemented that interface for your vendor everythingelse
should work unchanged.

ColdFusion 6 Trial Version is permanent?
I want to learn creating ColdFusion pages. I checked the
current website. It appears we have now a new version 7 available
for free download and it could be used permanently.
About 12 months back I've already downloaded
"Coldfusion-61-win.exe". I have a feeling I should stay with the
old copy as it is the same version used by our production system. I
want to play safe and have a test copy installed on my own PC
rather than messing up the production environment.
Questions:
1) Are you suggesting me to install the latest version?
Is it at all bad to stay with the old version to start
learning?
2) I can't remember what is the difference between the full
licence copy and the trial copy I've got. Can someone recall?
For example, does anyone know if I can use it permanently or
it will stop running after the evaluation period? What is missing
with the free copy?
Thanks. The difference between the Developer and Trial editions is
that
ColdFusion MX 7 - Developer Edition supports localhost plus
two IP connections and does not expire.
ColdFusion MX 7 - Trial Edition has no connection limitations
but expires in 30 days and reverts to the Developer Edition.
Both versions are free and, other than the connection
limitations of Developer and the 30 day limit of Trial, have all of
the product's features.
As ColdFusion 8 is scheduled to be released this Summer, I
would strongly recommend using the Developer version of the current
release (ColdFusion 7.02) to learn Coldfusion on a development
installation on your own workstation. -

Coldfusion mx 7.0.2 - 404 errors
i just installed coldfusion mx 7.0.2 on a centos (linux rhel
basically) server. everything seems to be going pretty well, i can
access the coldfusion administrator from the internal web server on
port 8500, i can access the administrator using symlinks by using a
configured connector on port 80 as i need to ... my problem comes
when i am working with virtual hosts.
if i am working on one of my domain names, say that has its
web root in /home/isom/public_html i cannot get coldfusion to load
http://www.domain.com/index.cfm.
it tells me file not found. of course, in the public_html folder,
there is an index.cfm...there is no application.cfm, the index.cfm
template is not cfincluding anything else...its just a test file
with very basic output in it.
i created a symlink to where CFIDE is in
/home/isom/public_html, and i can access
http://www.domain.com/CFIDE/administrator
flawlessly, everything works.
however, if i copy the index.cfm test file into
/opt/jrun4/servers/cfusion/cfusion-ear/cfusion-war and then access
http://www.domain.com/index.cfm,
it works just fine.
am i missing something here? am i not supposed to be creating
coldfusion templates in the documentroot of the site? do i have to
use the cfusion-war directory for all of them? im confused, i swear
this thing should be able to work the way i have it...to further this, i have managed to get this working a little
better, but still have the same issue.
www.domain1.com is running coldfusion from a jrun server
named cfusion installed to /opt/jrun4/servers/cfusion
www.domain2.com is running coldfusion from jrun a server
named isom installed to /opt/jrun4/servers/isom
www.domain1.com is the default apache web site, nothing
fancy, the thing that says "congratulations, it worked!" or
whatever apache says when you go to it the first time. i created
symlinks to the CFIDE folder in the cfusion jrun server.
administrator works fine.
www.domain2.com is a user web site that i actually want to
work on. this is where i want to create my CF documents. i have
created symlinks to the CFIDE folder in the isom jrun server.
administrator works fine.
this is all working fine, sandboxes are working and seperate,
each of the jrun coldfusion servers is configurable seperately. i
dont really care, i only have one site i want to work on with
coldfusion.
here is a shorter description of my actual problem than i
used before:
i can create cfm templates, and they work just fine if i put
them into /opt/jrun4/servers/isom/cfusion-ear/cfusion-war/WEB-INF.
i want to be able to put them into /home/isom/public_html and have
them execute as though they are the document or web root for the
server accessible from
http://www.domain2.com
i have tried changing the context root for the jrun servers,
and it just broke them, so i reinstalled and got back to where i
was, lol...this is so different than on windows, although i did
manage to get windows to do this with 7.0 a few years back on a
fresh install ... i managed to resolve it there though. -
Create many SIA with only one installation issue
Hi,
I want create many CMS linked to corresponding SIA in one install.
For sample, we have:
PRG -->CMS 6400
TST -->CMS 6500
In the install, The SIA for PRG is autolmatically created.
After this, I have created a new database in Mysql for TST.
I have used command for create a new SIA :
./addnode.sh -name SIATST -siaport 6411 -cms boxi:6400 -user Administrator -password PRG
I have launched the command :
./cmsdbsetup and respond the name of the new SIA --> SIATST
I have 'updated' the datadase info and reinitialize the database. At this time, the CMS port is asked and I have respond 6500.
Like explain at the end of the tool, I have launched the command:
./ccm.sh -updateobjects -cms boxi:6500
After start the SIATST, I can connect to the CMS:6500 and all services is connected to the port 6500 (in the command line -ns boxi:6500).
Unluckily, the <node> name SIATST is always present in SIAPRG (cms on 6400) but on failed to start.
I have tried to remove this by command:
./removenode.sh -name SIAPRG -cms boxi:6400 -username Administrator -password PRG
I have the error:
Logging on to boxi:6400 as user Administrator with secEnterprise authentication...
The SIA on this machine with the name SIATST doesn't exist in the cluster you are connected to.
In the 'Server' tab in the CCM interface, I have always this node information and all services linked.
It's possible to remove this SIATST on SIAPRG ?
This procedure is good for wanted solution ?
Thanks
Gilles
Edited by: Gilles Crebassa on Oct 8, 2010 9:00 AMWhy two primary that is 'coz geographically based server support and workstation. You can think it as a data center to data center split.
That doesn't make sense and aren't valid reasons for 2012 (not that you can necessarily change it now).
This line jumps out at me in the log file though: "An MP exists on this machine".
That looks like the system you are installing on previously had an MP on it. I would delete the ccm namespace in WMI, cleanup all reference to ccm and Configuratin Manager from the registry, and then try again.

Some good information on NWDI is in [Concepts of the Development Infrastructure|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/44/312b1a8bea3ec8e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm].
Ask yourself the questions:
How do I want to use NWDI? Just as versionmanager? Or do I want to use the Central Build Services also?
Do I want to use the Content Management Services for transporting my stuff?
If you are going to use all these services, then you need a Software Component and Product to be created in the SLD; create a CMS track with your runtime systems; import the newly created Development Configureation into NWDS; and create your J2EE application DC in your Software Component.
So as you can see: some steps to do before you can use the complete NWDI.
I hope this helps a little.
