Creating custom Content Server Skin

I have installed Oracle Content Server on my machine in order to create a demo. I would like to customise the skin of Content Server, in order to follow our company's style.
I am following Brian Huff's book
(The Definitive Guide to Stellent Content Server Development:
http://books.google.com.au/books?id=TiUzMYbpg2MC&printsec=frontcover&dq=brian+huff+stellent#PPA144,M1 ),
and to create a custom skin as a copy of an existing, have copied the folder:
/weblayout/resources/layouts/Top Menus/Oracle
renaming it to something like:
/weblayout/resources/layouts/Top Menus/Amanda
I then restart my content server, but this skin option does not seem to appear after choosing "Top Menus" for the layout, under the My Profile tab.
Is there something I am missing out?

Hi,
If you’re not fixed your requirement with the Out of the box SharePoint place holders, you can create as many as you want as long as the ID doesn’t conflict. On the master page add the content place holder
<asp:ContentPlaceHolderid="CustomName" runat="server"></asp:ContentPlaceHolder> and add this to your page layout
<asp:Contentrunat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="CustomName"></asp:Content>.
I suggest you provide your basic requirement for further research.
If you want to customize a master page, the Rajendra's method would be helpful.

Creating Custom Content Types

As the title suggests, does anyone know how to create Custom Content Types in Adobe Livecycle Content Services ES? I have looked far and wide across the www, and haven't had any luck with a straight forward, easy to follow, tutorial on the subject. I have seen it for Actions and Aspects, but not Content.

Thanks for your response. I've spent the past couple of days trying to get it to work, but I still cannot figure it out.
According to all documentation I have found, I have modified the files I thought were the same as the Alfresco files:
C:\...\jboss\server\all\deploy\contentservices.war\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\extension
+ .\liveCycleContentModel.xml
Added the <types> tag above the <aspects> tag, and created my type as specified online and also in a book
Then I copied the web-client-config.xml to the extension folder and renamed as web-client-config-custom.xml and added the code to Content Wizards and Action Wizards to display it in the web ui.
Am I missing anything? When I re-package the .war file and redeploy/restart JBOSS, my localhost:8080/contentspace is completely broken. no login in or anything but workspace is still in tact.

I am Integrating Oracle SES with UCM.Both UCM and Oracle SES are installed on the same machine.
I have installed SESCrawlerExport compoent on UCM and also taken Snapshot of Repository.
But when i am trying to create Oracle Content server Identity plug-in in SES it gives following exception.

If the error message is correct, it means that no listener is running on port 100.
Where did you get the URL http://localhost:100/idc_new/idc ?
Is UCM using port 100 as it's standard port?
What happens if you try to open this in a browser (running on the localhost machine)?

Thanks very much, Roger. That's very kind of you. The answer was very helpful. I've changed the host and realm accordingly, and altered the Authentication Type to BASIC (previously NATIVE).
When I now try a crawl of UCM, it fails and the log file provides the debugging info listed at the bottom of this message. I've tried to research the exception type and have experimented by altering a few configuration values, but have so far failed to resolve the issue. Are you able to hazard a guess as to what could be causing it?

How to Create Custom Content Type with 100 site columns ?

i have one requirement to create custom conten types in sharepoint 2013 as follows.
1. Create a content type with 100 site columns ( in this 100 site columns includes 10 mms feilds and 10 lookup fields).
2.when we deploy the content type in other server if already the same content type existing in the server it should be upgrade the existing content type.
Please advise how do develop the solution ( using power shell script or visual studio with event receiver or xml file)

Error Displaying Portlet Preview created from Content Server templates

I created portlet from content server announcement portlet template.Whet put on the page this portlet shows the following error message:
Error Displaying Portlet Preview.Error Getting Content from Portlet.
Same error with portlet created from the news template.

If the link exists in TOA01, why is the dosumnet not visible ? When i use the Function Module ARCHIVOBJECT_DISPLAY, i get the error -
Error when opening document with HTML control:DP_ERROR_GENERAL

I'm not sure what SDK you're exactly referring to. But you can use server-side actionscrip and an IDE like Adobe Flash Builder/Flash Professional for client side actionscript to develop your two-way application.

Can I add Custom Content Type created programmatically to Custom List Definition?

I have created Custom content type programmatically in the Feature Receiver. Followed by this have another feature which creates List Template. I want to add the custom content type to the list template.
Using VS 2012, I added the custom content type to the list definition. The Schema.xml for the list definition looks as below:

ID was automatically added by the VS tool.
List Template is created, the new content Type is also added, but the Name is displayed as "Document" instead of the custom content type name. So I see two CTs with the name "Document".
How can I achieve this? Any help is appreciated.

Setting content server for storing PPM documents

Hi Folks,
We have followed the steps outlined the PPM config doc for setting up the content server (pages 117). Summary of the steps are shown below. (We are on PPM5.0)
Creating a Content Server Entry
1. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Application Server Basis Services
Knowledge Provider Content Management Service Define Content
Repositories , choose Content Repository Display/Change .
2. Choose Content Repository Create .
3. Enter a name and a description for the content server.
4. Enter CFF in the Document Area field and HTTP in the Storage Type field.
Creating a Storage Category for a Repository
1. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Application Server Basis Services
Knowledge Provider Content Management Service Define Content Categories
, choose New entries.
2. Enter a name and description, and then enter CFF in the Document Area field.
3. Enter the name of the newly-created content repository in the Content Repository
field.
Setting the new Content Server as the Default Storage Category
1. Choose transaction DMWB.
2. Choose model area CFF in the tree.
3. Navigate to PHIO-classes, node CFF_VERSION_V.
4. Change the standard attribute STORAGE_CATEGORY from CFFCONTENT to the
category you have defined above.
5. Repeat this for node CFF_ADD_FILES_V and for CFF_VERS in node
CFF_VERSION_V.
After doing the above steps I did the following tests.
1. Tried to access documents stored at the portfolio item level before doing the above content server config. I was able to access the documents which leads me to believe that files are still getting stored in the DB.
2. Checked the table CFF_CONT before and after storing a 1kb file and the number of entries increased by 2, which again leads me to believe the file is not stored in the content server.
Appreciate any input on whether we have followed the correct steps and if there is a better way check if files are actually being stored in the content server.

I didn't same steps as you explain in your first post but it isn't working.
Why didn't it work for you when you posted your 1st post, and now is is working? Is there some installation or Add-on that we need you have? Is there any Basis system parameters that we need to put?

Document transfer from SRM to DMS through content server

Hi Everybody,
        In one of scenarios we need to transfer documents attached to the shopping cart line items in SRM to R/3.
       For that we followed the following procedure.
       1.In the SRM to R/3 system, the attachments are driven by the BADIs.
       2.In the BADI, if we define DMS_C1_ST as the storage category for R/3 Database, the DMS should work
       3.The existing DMS, the customized content server is Z_DMS.
      4.Using SRM (with Z_DMS)we are able to create the Document Info Record
      5.The attachments are not reflected in DMS (driven through SRM)
      6.When the attachments are added in the DMS manually, DMS works perfect
     I am thinking there might be some configuration required in content server for the conversion of original application files.
     If anybody have the solution for this please post here.

Configuration for storing CRM attachments to content server

Hi Experts,
We are in the process of large scale implementation. As part of it
we are trying out solution to store attachments of business a transaction (ex-
crmd_order - opportunities) to content server.
As part of Initial configuration and set up
1. We have installed and connected Content server to CRM system (
CSADMIN)
2. We have created a content repository ( OAC0)
3. We have defined document type (OAC2)
4. Category linked to content repository ( OACT)
5. Created relationship b/w Content repository,Object type,document
type and link table(OAC3)
Connection looks fine and we are also able to store print lists to
content server. But when we try saving attachments in tcode crmd_order
for opportunities , its not saving to the content server. For this we
have attached object type BUS2000111 to custom doc type and to content
repository ID. But still have not been successful.
If you could please confim on what are we missing here.
We have actually able to save and retrive docs from ECC system but are
not able to do so in CRM. Any assistance here will be of great help.

Table SOFFCONT1 attachments are stored that are recorded in the database logic of sap. That is if the id of the document not find it in this chart means that you are storing away in a content server.
I've gotten crm annexes the content stored on a server.
The first thing I have done is create a content server-class CRM. OAC0 in, then I created the category AOCRS taking the content. CSADMIN and I found that the content is running.
In transaction SKPR08 BDS_POC1 class I have assigned to the Z-server content that I created. and in all kinds of CRM type I have assigned the new Z category I created.
After the transaction SBDSV2 I created a new record with BUS1006 in this case because it was a contact in CRM and I have given the document class Z BDS_ATTACH the category of content.
The BUS is obtained by a trace of the transaction and SWELS swel (with some modification from the transaction in which I attach the document).
In SBDSV1 I've got to bus1006 BDS_LOC1 class.
And with that I have solved the problem.

Custome Content type can't be seen in remote system

hi,
i have 2 systems on LAN. i have created site with document library, and created custom content types and added them to my document library everything works fine on the server system and i can see those templates when i click new in document library.
Problem is since i have 2 systems on Lan, i am accessing that site from another system it logged in successfully and when i go to my document library and click on new i don't see any custom templates but i can see them in document library settings :( whats
the wrong thing i am doing????
i am using sharepoint server 2007 build 12.0.0.6679 and MS office 2007.
please help me.

I believe this is a known bug that is set to be fixed in the next service pack release (due out in June).

Custom Content type Programmatically

I am using sharepoint server 2007 in windows server 2003.
i am successfully created custom content type using MS office templates(using SharePoint GUI). now i want to do below things programmatically (want to know whether it works or not).
1. creating custom content type and assigning a template to it programmatically.
2. using these content types in document library (i have written code and working perfectly).
for the 1st point This Link tells that we can't create content types in SharePoint 2007 but we can in SharePoint 2010,
my question is are their any alternatives????? or links will be sufficient.
