Hi all
can i create a data table in screen painter?
appreciate the help

Hi!
Yes, you can create it. You can create data tables in the collections "tab", the same place where you can create choose from lists.
Hope it helps;

    SQL is a database language, so why do you want to re-compute constant data over and over, hundreds of times a day for years? UGH!
    There are 365.2422 days per year, so a century of calender data is only 36,525 rows! Maybe 40 bytes per row? About 1.5 Kbytes  total? This will fit into main storage
    What you did post was wrong. DATE is a reserved word in SQL and it is  unit of temporal measurement. You also seem to confuse columns and fields. In SQL a field is a sub-unit of a temporal measurement (YEARS, MONTH, DAY, HOUR, MINUTE, SECOND). Please
    learn the ISO-11179 rules for data element names.
    You crammed too much in the table. The new DATE data type is only 3 bytes! Your other columns are mostly redundant and have attribute splitting problems.  Try this:
    CREATE TABLE Calendar
    (cal_date DATE NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
     julian_date INTEGER NOT NULL,
     julian_business_day INTEGER NOT NULL,
     ordinal_date CHAR(8) NOT NULL
       CHECK (ordinal_date
           LIKE '[12][0-9][0-9][0-9]-[0-9][0-9][0-9]') NOT NULL,
     week_date CHAR(9) NOT NULL
        CHECK (week_date LIKE '[12][0-9][0-9][0-9]W[0-5][0-9]-[0-7])
    The julianized date is a sequential number over the whole calendar. It makes temporal math easier.
    ISO-8601 week_date is the week-within-year. This format is 'yyyyWww-d' where yyyy is the year, W is a separator token, ww is (01-53) week number and d is (1-7) day of the week.
    There are several websites with calendars you can cut & paste, but you can start your search with: http://www.calendar-365.com/week-number.html
    The Julian business day is a good trick. Number the days from whenever your calendar starts and repeat a number for a weekend or company holiday.
    CREATE TABLE Calendar
    (cal_date DATE NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
     julian_business_nbr INTEGER NOT NULL,
    INSERT INTO Calendar
    VALUES ('2007-04-05', 42),
     ('2007-04-06', 43), -- good Friday
     ('2007-04-07', 43),
     ('2007-04-08', 43), -- Easter Sunday
     ('2007-04-09', 44),
     ('2007-04-10', 45); --Tuesday
    To compute the business days from Thursday of this week to next
     Tuesdays:
    SELECT (C2.julian_business_nbr - C1.julian_business_nbr)
      FROM Calendar AS C1, Calendar AS C2
     WHERE C1.cal_date = '2007-04-05',
       AND C2.cal_date = '2007-04-10';
    Why store things like the month name in the table? This is a display field, not a schema column value. It is language dependent! It is only part of a scalar value, too; why not normalize?
    But if you need them, then use computed columns that are not materialized until needed. Also, use the SUBSTRING() for things that are not numeric. Why use SMALLINT for the day of the week?  Are you going to divide Thursday by 42? It is a name, not a numeric.
    You saw the tricks with a Series table wanted to use them, but do not  be the boy with a new hammer who thinks everything is a nail. I find that a spreadsheet is the best way to create such a calendar table because they have so many temporal options and
    functions.
    Also, putting the comma at the start of  a line is an old punchcard trick that we do not use any more. Back in the 1960's, it let us re-arrange the deck and re-use the cards. All it cost us was readable code –- your eyes expect to see a comma after a string,
    so this makes a twitch as you read.

  • How to Create Inline Table to Display Detail Data in a Master Table in 11g?

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to create inline table inside master table to show data.
    I found this 10g article for this http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28967/web_masterdetail006.htm#BABCDCGE
    I couldn't find such option in 11g. Am i missing something? Please let me know where i can find more details.
    Required Output:
    [+] DepartmentId DepartmentName
    [-] DepartmentId DepartmentName
    EmployeeId FirstName LastName
    EmployeeId FirstName LastName
    EmployeeId FirstName LastName
    [+] DepartmentId DepartmentName
    Also, I tried creating the Page as below (Departments -Employees Relation). i.e I have tried using the ADF treeModel in the bindings and then created a table/inline table manually to populate. The data is available in the iterators (i found using sops in back bean), but the inline table is not showing any data. I tried enabling PPR on detail based on master. But no luck.
    <af:table rows="#{bindings.Departments1.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.findAllStaff1.viewable ? \'No rows yet.\' :
    \'Access Denied.\'}"
    var="row" value="#{bindings.Departments1.treeModel}">
    <af:column headerText="#{bindings.Departments1.labels.DepartmentId}"
    sortable="false" sortProperty="DepartmentId">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.DepartmentId}"/>
    </af:column>
    <af:column headerText="#{bindings.Departments1.labels.DepartmentName}"
    sortable="false" sortProperty="DepartmentName">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.DepartmentName}"/>
    </af:column>
    <f:facet name="detailStamp">
    <af:table rows="#{bindings.Departments1.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="No rows yet." var="detailRow"
    value="#{row.children}">
    <af:column headerText="#{row.children[0].labels.EmployeeId}"
    sortable="false" sortProperty="EmployeeId">
    <af:outputText value="#{detailRow.EmployeeId}"/>
    </af:column>
    <af:column headerText="#{row.children[0].labels.FirstName}"

    Hi,
    After reading the above links end-to-end twice, I'm finally able to establish the relationship in UI. I've used iterator for my specific purpose, although it can be done using a table/forEach.
    1) Create VOs for Dept and Emp, i.e. DeptVO and EmpVO.
    2) Then a View Link on deptID, i.e DeptEmpVL
    3) Drag and drop the Dept as AdfTreeTable, b'coz it will create the treeBinding and also add the emp accessor by selecting it in the binding window. (refer to above doc links from BaiG)
    4) In my Page UI, i've created a new table and an iterator in the detailStamp.
    Dept Table ->
    o Value = #{bindings.Departments1.treeModel}
    o Var = dept
    o varStaus = deptVarStatus
    Add these:
    Column1-> OutputText -> #{dept.DepartmentId}
    Column2-> OutputText -> #{dept.DepartmentName}
    Insert into TableFacets -> detailStamp -> iterator
    Iterator ->
    o Value = #{dept.children}
    o Var = emp
    o varStatus = empVarStatus
    Add these:
    OutputText -> #{emp.EmployeeId}
    OutputText -> #{emp.EmployeeName}
    OutputText -> #{emp.Salary}
    This iterator/forEach comes in handy for having n Number of regions inside a layout.
    Thanks,
    Harikiran

  • How to delete the table entries (created data )

    in which table the created data will be get stored i need to delete it programitically can any one help me out in this, plz tell me the table name where the created data will be get stored.

    Hi
    Rocky
    use the delete statement
    the information regarding delete is
    DELETE dbtab
    Syntax
    DELETE { {FROM target [WHERE sql_cond]}
           | {target FROM source} }.
    Effect
    The statement DELETE deletes one or more rows from the database table specified in target. The rows that are to be deleted are specified either in a WHERE condition sql_cond or with data objects in source.
    System Fields
    The statement DELETE sets the values of the system fields sy-subrc and sy-dbcnt.
    sy-subrc Meaning
    0 A least one row was deleted.
    4 At least one row could not be deleted, since it was not found in the database table.
    The statement MODIFY sets sy-dbcnt to the number of deleted rows.
    Note
    The rows are deleted permanently from the database table in the next database commit. Until then, you can cancel the deletion in a database rollback.

  • Creating a fiscal date table that includes Day of Year and Week of Year column

    Hi,
    Our fiscal year runs between 1st October through to 30th September and I'm trying to create a date table that I can use to represent this in Powerpivot (I'm using Excel 2013). I had no probably creating columns for Fiscal month or fiscal year, however I am
    having issue breaking it down more than that, specifically I cannot work out how to calculate:
    - day of the year
    - week of the year (with week one starting on the first day of the year rather than the first Monday)
    I worked out how to do the day of the year until I had to try and account for leap years which broke the formula I had! Can anyone please recommend solutions, I cannot see anything online about this. Obviously I know that it is simple to do this for a normal
    calendar year but this approach doesn't work with a custom fiscal year.
    Whilst it is useful for several reasons, my main reason for wanting week is so that I can plot my Pivotcharts more smoothly (although I may have missed an easier way to do that).
    Thanks,
    James

    For my example I started with 1 column in Power Pivot called [Date]
    I created the following Columns
    [DayofMonth] =Day([Date])
    [MonthNumber] =Month([Date])
    [Fiscal Year] =IF([MonthNumber]< 10, Year([Date]), (Year([Date])+1))
    [Fiscal Day] =[Date] - DATE(([Fiscal Year] -1), 10,1) +1
    [Fiscal Week] =RoundUp([Fiscal Day] / 7, 0)
    Change [Date] to whatever your date column is and those DAX formulas will get you what you need

  • How to Create a Table in Oracle with XML data type.

    Dear ALL,
    What are the requirements for creating a table with xml datatype in Oracle: The steps would help very much to know the scripting of the table and how to query and either insert/update and remove data from that table.
    Any help, direction, advise would be highly appreciated.

  • How to create a table with data in it?

    I need to have a temp table in a PL/SQL procedure for processing which can hold data values from two other tables and a sequence number.
    Ex:
    Existing tables:
    table1 (col1 varchar2(100), col2 date, col3 number20) - Has more 1Lakh rows
    table2 (col1 varchar2(100), col2 date) - Has more 900 rows
    New table
    temp_table (col1 PRY KEY(seq1.number), col2 varchar2(100), col3 date)
    Currently i have created the temp_table and inserting all the data from both table1 & table2 (which is poor). Please suggest me a way to have the temp_table created with data(atleast from table1 which has more than 1Lakh rows). Please see i need a sequence number as well.
    Thanks in advance.

    Please find the below Dynamic SQL statements that i'm using for create the temp table and inserting the data into it.
    Before insert the V_NAME filed, i will be appending a VARCHAR field to the original data.
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'CREATE TABLE TEMP_TABLE (UNIQUE_KEY NUMBER , FILE_NAME VARCHAR2(1000), LAST_DATE DATE)';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'INSERT INTO TEMP_TABLE values (SEQUENCE.nextval,:1,:2)' USING V_NAME,vLastDate;What exactly i need is to eliminate the INSERT portion of it,Since i have to insert more 90,000 rows into it. Is there way to have the temp table created with data in it along with the sequence value as well.
    I'm using Oracle 10.2.0.4 version.
    Edited by: 903948 on Dec 22, 2011 10:58 PMWhat you need to do to eliminate the INSERT statement is to -- as already suggested by others - eliminate the temporary table. You don't need it. It is just necessary overhead. Please explain why you (apparently) believe that the suggestion of a view will not meet your requirements.

  • Error while creating data warehouse tables.

    Hi,
    I am getting an error while creating data warehouse tables.
    I am using OBIA 7.9.5.
    The contents of the generate_clt log are as below.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    There are two rows in the DAC repository schema for the column and the table.
    The w_etl_table_col.KEY_TYPE_CD value for DW application is UNKNOWN and for the ORA_11i application it is NULL.
    Could this be the cause of the issue? If yes, why could the values be different and how to resolve this?
    If not, then what could be the problem?
    Any responses will be appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Manoj.

    Strange. The OBIA 7.9.5 Installation and Configuration Guide says the following:
    4.3.4.3 Create ODBC Database Connections
    Note: You must use the Oracle Merant ODBC driver to create the ODBC connections. The Oracle Merant ODBC driver is installed by the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications installer. Therefore, you will need to create the ODBC connections after you have run the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications installer and have installed the DAC Client.
    Several other users are getting the same message creating DW tables.

  • Uploading data from excel file to a dynamically created internal table

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where i have to upload data from an excel file into a database table. I would be able to determine the structure of the table only at runtime based on the user input.. so i have created an internal table dynamically.
    Could you please tell me if its possible to upload data from an excel file to the dynamically created internal table using any function modules?
    I thought of doing this by declaring a generic internal table of one field and then uploading the *.csv file into it and then splitting it based on "," and then assigning it to the field symbol referencing the internal table.. but my file length exceeds 132 characters and i'm only able to get data of lenght 132 char's in my internal table ( generic one).
    Could anyone please show me a way around this.

    built-in type method means.,
    there is no need to create data element and domain objects seperately for each and every field of the table which ever you are creating, system will implicitly fix the size based on the data type you selected....

    Hi fabian,
    If i understood,
    u want to create a dynamic internal table.
    1.
      For this purpose,
      in my program,
      there is an INDEPENDENT FORM
      whose inputs are
      TABLE NAME / STRUCTURE NAME
      and from those, it consructs dynamic table.
    2. Here is the program.
    the dynamic table name will be
    <DYNTABLE>.
    3. U can use this program (FORM in this program)
    to generate any kind of internal table
    by specifying TABLE NAME .
    4.
    REPORT abc.
    COMPULSORY
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <dyntable> TYPE ANY TABLE.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <dynline> TYPE ANY.
    DATA: lt TYPE lvc_t_fcat.
    DATA: ls TYPE lvc_s_fcat.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fld> TYPE ANY.
    DATA : fldname(50) TYPE c.
    parameters : iname LIKE dd02l-tabname.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    PERFORM
    PERFORM mydyntable USING lt.
    BREAK-POINT.
    INDEPENDENT FORM
    FORM mydyntable USING ptabname.
    Create Dyn Table From FC
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_data> TYPE REF TO data.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_1>.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_2> TYPE ANY TABLE.
    DATA: lt_data TYPE REF TO data.
    data : lt TYPE lvc_t_fcat .
    DATA : ddfields LIKE ddfield OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
    CALL FUNCTION 'DD_NAMETAB_TO_DDFIELDS'
    EXPORTING
    tabname = iname
    TABLES
    ddfields = ddfields.
    CONSTRUCT FIELD LIST
    LOOP AT ddfields.
    ls-fieldname = ddfields-fieldname.
    APPEND ls TO lt.
    ENDLOOP.
    ASSIGN lt_data TO <fs_data>.
    CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
    EXPORTING
    it_fieldcatalog = lt
    IMPORTING
    ep_table = <fs_data>
    EXCEPTIONS
    generate_subpool_dir_full = 1
    OTHERS = 2.
    IF sy-subrc <> 0.
    ENDIF.
    Assign Dyn Table To Field Sumbol
    ASSIGN <fs_data>->* TO <fs_1>.
    ASSIGN <fs_1> TO <fs_2>.
    ASSIGN <fs_1> TO <dyntable>.
    ENDFORM. "MYDYNTABLE

  • SSIS 2008 – Read roughly 50 CSV files from a folder, create SQL table from them dynamically, and dump data.

    Hello everyone,
    I’ve been assigned one requirement wherein I would like to read around 50 CSV files from a specified folder.
    In step 1 I would like to create schema for this files, meaning take the CSV file one by one and create SQL table for it, if it does not exist at destination.
    In step 2 I would like to append the data of these 50 CSV files into respective table.
    In step 3 I would like to purge data older than a given date.
    Please note, the data in these CSV files would be very bulky, I would like to know the best way to insert bulky data into SQL table.
    Also, in some of the CSV files, there will be 4 rows at the top of the file which have the header details/header rows.
    According to my knowledge I would be asked to implement this on SSIS 2008 but I’m not 100% sure for it.
    So, please feel free to provide multiple approaches if we can achieve these requirements elegantly in newer versions like SSIS 2012.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ankit

    Hello Harry and Aamir,
    Thank you for the responses.
    @Aamir, thank you for sharing the link, yes I'm going to use Script task to read header columns of CSV files, preparing one SSIS variable which will be having SQL script to create the required table with if exists condition inside script task itself.
    I will be having "Execute SQL task" following the script task. And this will create the actual table for a CSV.
    Both these components will be inside a for each loop container and execute all 50 CSV files one by one.
    Some points to be clarified,
    1. In the bunch of these 50 CSV files there will be some exception for which we first need to purge the tables and then insert the data. Meaning for 2 files out of 50, we need to first clean the tables and then perform data insert, while for the rest 48
    files, they should be appended on daily basis.
    Can you please advise what is the best way to achieve this requirement? Where should we configure such exceptional cases for the package?
    2. For some of the CSV files we would be having more than one file with the same name. Like out of 50 the 2nd file is divided into 10 different CSV files. so in total we're having 60 files wherein the 10 out of 60 have repeated file names. How can we manage
    this criteria within the same loop, do we need to do one more for each looping inside the parent one, what is the best way to achieve this requirement?
    3. There will be another package, which will be used to purge data for the SQL tables. Meaning unlike the above package, this package will not run on daily basis. At some point we would like these 50 tables to be purged with older than criteria, say remove
    data older than 1st Jan 2015. what is the best way to achieve this requirement?
    Please know, I'm very new in SSIS world and would like to develop these packages for client using best package development practices.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    How can you identify these files? Is it based on file name or are there some info in the file which indicates
    that it required a purge? If yes you can pick this information during file name or file data parsing step and set a boolean variable. Then in control flow have a conditional precedence constraint which will check the boolean variable and if set it will execute
    a execte sql task to do the purge (you can use TRUNCATE TABLE or DELETE FROM TableName statements)

    The best way to achieve this is to append a sequential value to filename (may be timestamp) and then process
    them in sequence. This can be done prior to main loop so that you can use same loop to process these duplicate filenames also. The best thing would be to use file creation date attribute value so that it gets processed in the right sequence. You can use a
    script task to get this for each file as below
    http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com/2011/03/get-file-properties-with-ssis.html

    You can use a SQL script for this. Just call a sql procedure
    with a single parameter called @Date and then write logic like below
    CREATE PROC PurgeTableData
    @CutOffDate datetime
    AS
    DELETE FROM Table1 WHERE DateField < @CutOffDate;
    DELETE FROM Table2 WHERE DateField < @CutOffDate;
    DELETE FROM Table3 WHERE DateField < @CutOffDate;
    GO
    @CutOffDate which denote date from which older data have to be purged
    You can then schedule this SP in a sql agent job to get executed based on your required frequency

  • Create dynamic table using pojo data control

    What are the options we can in order to create dynamic table columns based on pojo data control?
    We have a class A and there are some attributes say A.x, A.y, A.z
    Within class A, we have a collection of class B and has attribute say B.k
    Within class A, we have a collection of class C and has attribute say C.j
    Every instance of class A has same number of instances of class B

    We would like to display a table like this
    A.x, A.y, A.z, [B.k, B.k, ...], [C.j, C.j, ...]
    How should we do that?
