Creating Drill-Down on single primary key

I have 3 Tables
1.Details Table(Contains State,Region,Branch,Member Name,Member ID)
2.Fact Table (This is also contains all above columns)
3.Fact Table(Contains Only Member ID)
I can easily create drill-down for above 2 tables by complex joining of all columns
But the problem is with 3rd table, while i want to create drill-down i have only one PK in that table..
Kindly give an solution for this
Regards,
Satya

Have you used Dimension? By defining Dimensions, you can create multi level drill down on the same data object, in the same report.
1. Define the Dimension in the data object
2. In the Studio, choose Drilling tab under the report
3. Drill Hierarchies will be available. Choose the Dimension
The drilling level will depend on the depth of the Dimension you have specified!

  • Creating Drill-Down Links

    Hello,
I want to be able to create 'drill-down' links in my SWING applications, I have seen these in many apps written in Visual Basic where you can click in a label and it acts like a button.
Can anyone tell me how this is done or where I might find out some more information?
    Thanks in advance!!

Maybe I gave the wrong description of how this works, an example is if in an enterprise system you have a label with the text 'Supplier' beside a combo-box with supplier names and you wish to edit to supplier list you would normally have to go through drop down menus to bring up a 'Edit Supplier' screen.
It would be much easier if you could just click on the label 'Supplier' and the 'Edit Supplier' screen opens.
Hope this helps, you suggestion solved the problem!!

  • Create a materized view without primary key constraint on the base table?

    Hi
I tried to create a materized view but I got this error:

TABLE1 in remote_db doesn't have a primary key constraint. Is there anyway that I can create a materized view on a base table which doesn't have a primary key constraint?
    Thanks
    Liz

    Hi,
Thanks for your helpful info. I created a materialized view in the source db with rowid:
    SQL> CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW log on TABLE1 with rowid;
    Materialized view log created.
Then I created a MV on the target DB:
    CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW my_schema.TABLE1_MV
    REFRESH FAST
    with rowid
    START WITH
    to_date('04-25-2009 03:00:13','MM-dd-yyyy hh24:mi:ss')
    NEXT
    sysdate + 1
    AS
    select * from TABLE1@remote_db
    SQL> /
    CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW my_schema.TABLE1_MV
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-12018: following error encountered during code generation for
    "my_schema"."TABLE1_MV"
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    TABLE1 exists in remote_db:
    SQL> select count(*) from TABLE1@remote_db;
    COUNT(*)

    Any clue what is wrong?

  • How do I Create an AutoIncrement on a Primary key Default

I am new to Oracle and need to know how to create a table that uses an automatic incrementation on a primay key for it's default. I need the uniqueness automatically managed by the DBMS.. This activity is know as setting the Column (primary key with identity) in Ms-SQL..
Your help would be appreciated greatly....
    Thanks....

you will have to create a sequence and a trigger
    CREATE SEQUENCE <SEQUENCE NAME>
    INCREMENT BY  1
    START WITH  1
    NOCACHE
/this sequence will guarantee that each requested number is unique
the trigger will select from this sequence and insert the obtained value in the new record
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER <TRIGGER NAME>
    BEFORE INSERT ON <TABLE NAME>
REFERENCING NEW AS NEW OLD AS OLD
    FOR EACH ROW
        BEGIN
            select
                <SEQUENCE NAME>.nextval
            into
                :NEW.<COLUMN NAME>
            from
                dual;
        END;
    [/CODE]
this will always take the value from the sequence, even if you already provided a value yourself
(otherwise you will first have to test if :NEW.<column name> is null, but I wouldn't do this for a key column.
if you need the generated key back for further processing (inserting it into a child table for example), you can use the returning clause on the insert statement
see the oracle documentation for more information about sequences, triggers and the returning clause

  • Creating a script for a PRIMARY KEY USING INDEX SORT doesn't work

    Probably a bug.
    h1. Environment
Application: Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler
    Version: 3.0.0.655
    h1. Test Case:
    1. Create a new table TRANSACTIONS with some columns.
    2. Mark one of numeric columns as the primary key - PK_TRANSACTIONS.
    3. Go to Physical Models and create new Oracle Database 11g.
    4. Go to Physical Models -> Oracle Database 11g -> Tables -> TRANSACTIONS -> Primary Keys -> PK_TRANSACTIONS -> Properties:
    a) on General tab set Using Index to BY INDEX NAME
    b) on Using Index tab choose a tablespace
    c) on Using Index tab set Index Sort to SORTED.
    5. Export the schema to DDL script. For the primary key you will get something like this:
    ALTER TABLE TRANSACTION
    ADD CONSTRAINT PK_TRANSACTION PRIMARY KEY ( TRAN_ID ) DEFERRABLE
    USING INDEX
    PCTFREE 10
    MAXTRANS 255
    TABLESPACE TBSPC_INDX
    LOGGING
    STORAGE (
    INITIAL 65536
    NEXT 1048576
    PCTINCREASE 0
    MINEXTENTS 1
    MAXEXTENTS 2147483645
    FREELISTS 1
    FREELIST GROUPS 1
    BUFFER_POOL DEFAULT
    ) SORTED
    h1. Reason of failure
The script will fail because SORTED is not allowed here. It should be SORT.
Additionally, the default behaviour for Data Modeler is to set Index Sort to NO but default setting for Oracle database 11g is SORT. Shouldn't Data Modeler use SORT as the default value?
    Edited by: user7420841 on 2011-05-07 03:15

    Hi,
Thanks for reporting this problem. As you say, it should be SORT rather than SORTED. I have logged a bug on this.
I also agree that, for consistency with the database default, it would be better to have SORT as the default in Data Modeler.

  • Creating a view with a primary key

I want to create a view with a defined primary key. I understand
the view is created within a select statement, but do not
understand how you would define a particular field as a primary
key in the view. Also if your select statement attempts to build
the view and has duplicate keys in the select result set, what
would happen when the duplicate key is found? Would it just not
include the duplicate key in the view?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    -Pat

I have a rather difficult problem with duplicate invoice numbers
contained in unique records. In other words I have many records
    that appear as follows:
    3593, 0004009090, CUSTOMER, TAX, 20000117,014011976-01
    4411, 0004009090, CUSTOMER, TAX, 20000718,014011976-01
The last field is invoice number '014011976-01' In my case I am
building a flat file using UTL_FILE for loading into SAP
Business Warehouse. In SAP I need to have Invoice number as a
key in which case I can't have duplicate invoice numbers. All
the SQL I have tried to date returns a large amount of records
similar to the above records. I am selecting these records from
4 different schemas which represent 4 different companies. I
realize the data is the problem and that the vendor of the
product I am working with should not allow records with
duplicate invoice numbers, but I have to get the data loaded as
that is what they want and are paying for. So back to my View. I
was hoping to create a view and be able to work in the view to
remove duplicate records prior to writing them to a file. Any
    suggestions are welcomed.
    Thanks

    Hi
    One simple concept is,
Make dept only report call it as dept.rdf
Now create another report call it as emp_details.rdf,
Now in Dept.rdf. Make push button and call the emp_details repot by passing dept no varailble.

    Hi,
You can enable Drill Down function by right clicking Section Name and choose
    Drilldown OK.
Refer to the link for the complete details.

  • Problem creating Drill-Down report

    Hi,
I have problem in creating a drill-down report, got confused how to do it. this is my requirement.
The main portion that will be first displayed contains a group on match_code and has its own detail section. now when the user selects one of these match_code it should drill down to give more information about this match_code, so the Drill down should also have its own detail section that will be hide and drilldown ok.
If this the proper way to do it. I will be creating a drill down report for the first time.
    Thanks,
    Reena

    Hello Reena,
If I understand your situation correctly you have a group on match_code and a details and b section. You want the Group Header and Details a sections to appear on the first "page" or drilldowngrouplevel 0. When the user drills down you want the Details b section to appear.
You can do that using the drilldowngrouplevel function.
Set the details b section to suppress when drilldowngrouplevel = 0, this section will only appear after drilldown.
I am not sure if you still want the details a or group sections to appear after drilldown, if you do then there is no need for conditional suppression. If you don't then use a conditional suppression formula for those sections of drilldowngrouplevel <> 0
