Creating emty rows in View Object

Hi,
My Application is ADFBC.
My requirement is create empty rows while page loading.I am using three tables one is master and another two are detailed tables.
creation form is: master form
detailed table
detailed table.
when i am pressing create button the form shows two emty rows in detailed table and 7 empty rows in second detailed table.
i wrote code in AMImpl is
public void createcomp() {
SequenceImpl s = new SequenceImpl("ATTRIBUTE_ID_S", getDBTransaction());
Number next = s.getSequenceNumber();
Number n=(Number)s.getData();
Number ssid=next+(new Number(1));
FbCmnEmcStorageSystemsVOImpl fbCmnEmcStorageSystemsVO = (FbCmnEmcStorageSystemsVOImpl) this.getFbCmnEmcStorageSystemsVO1();
FbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVOImpl fbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVO = (FbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVOImpl) this.getFbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVO2();
FbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVOImpl fbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVO = (FbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVOImpl) this.getFbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVO2();
// FbCmnEmcStorageSystemsVORow fbCmnEmcStorageSystemsVORow = (FbCmnEmcStorageSystemsVORow) fbCmnEmcStorageSystemsVO.createRow();
for(int i=1;i<=2;i++)
FbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVORow fbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVORow = (FbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVORow) fbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVO.createRow();
fbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVORow.setStorageSystemId(new Number(ssid));
fbCmnEmcStorageProcessorsVORow.setSpId(new Number(i));
for(int i=0;i<7;i++) {
FbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVORow fbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVORow = (FbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVORow) fbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVO.createRow();
fbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVORow.setStorageSystemId(new Number(ssid));
fbCmnEmcStorageComponentsVORow.setComponentName("sample"+i);
i am calling this method while page loading using these procedure:
expose the method as a client method and create a method binding for it (in pageDef). Then create an invokeAction (also pageDef but Executables section) pointing to the method binding. Set the invokeAction refresh condition (property of it) to
${!adfFacesContext.postback}
but i am not getting emtyrows in display.
what i have to do?please help me.
Thanks,

  • Problem during Add row in View Object : View Row of Key Not found

    Hello,
    I'm facing this problem during insert of new row in the view object. I'm having 2 entities that belong to the same DB table (I need this because one is required with the composition assoc and the other one without it).
    I have three tables, COMPANY, USERS and PRIVILEGES.
    Company (1) to USERS (N)
    USERS (1) to PRIVILGES (N)
    While adding users for a specific company , i get this error msg.
    P.S: I'm not getting this error, if i add company, then user. Only if i directly add users i'm getting this error.

    Hi Timo,
    once again thanks for ur reply.
    as my vo are based on procedure, i know that i can't update the table using them.
    i only wanted to insert the rows in the vo and show it to user (only for selection purpose).
    Now my problem is sorted as i have changed the code like this-
    Row new_row=vo1.createRow();
    new_row.setAttribute(index,vo2.getAttribute(index)) ;
    vo1.insertRow(new_row);
    Earlier i was only inserting a new row, without creating any row.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Questions on creating second RowSetIterator on View Object

    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.
    I created a second RowSetIterator for my view object so that I could perform some logic on all rows of the view object without affecting its currency.
    I called the createRowSetIterator() of the view object to create the second iterator with a hard-coded name "temp".
    When my logic was called the second time, will there be any problem to create the iterator with the name "temp"?
    I expected the iterator would be treated as a local variable which would become eligible for gargage collection once exiting my method.
    Is this assumption correct?
    Otherwise, what ViewObjectImpl method can be used to remove the iterator?

    If you don't need the iterator any more, you should close it
    RowSetIterator rsi = vo.createRowSetIterator("Listenauasgabe");
    rsi.closeRowSetIterator();As far as I understand the docu your assumption is correct as long as you don't have something else pointing to the iterator.

  • How to retrieve rows in view object and display on UI

    Hi All,
    I am new to ADF. i am using jdeveloper11.1.1.5.0 . Here is my scenario.
    In my AM i have a view object say EmployeeVo. on empVo i am performing setRangeStart and setRangeSize.
    empVo .setRangeStart(2);
    empVo .setRangeSize(2);
    Rows[] rows=empVo .getAllRowsInRange();
    so from the above statement will get two rows from the empVo object. Now i have to display these rows in UI in the form of af:table.
    Can anyone suggest how to acheive this.

  • ADF -how to create table binding when view object is no known until runtime

    I want to programmatically create a table binding to a view object where the view object name is not known until run-time. Then I will use a dynamic table to display it. Can anyone provide an example?

    I looked at example #9. It gets me closer to what I am looking for but not quite enough. In my case, I don't have (or want in this case) a pageDefinition with a pre-declared Iterator binding. I am converting an exsisting BC4J/Struts/JSP application. I would like to rewrite my reusable component tags to make use of ADF bindings and Faces. My tags are passed the ApplicationModule and ViewObject names as parameters, much like the old BC4J datatags. I do not want to go back and rewrite all of my pages from scratch using drag-and-drop declarative bindings with a pageDefinition for every page. I am hoping to have my rewritten tags handle everything programmatically based only on the ViewObject name passed at run-time.

  • [SOLVED] Row level view object validation (cross-field/multi-field)

    Hi,
    I'm trying to implement a validation rule across multiple view object fields in ADF 11g (11.1.1.2.0). I have 4 fields that the user needs to either leave all blank or there are some pretty complicated rules around which fields should be specified in combination. I'm having trouble using standard expression type validation rules because:
    - The validation rule is always attached to a particular field
    - The validation rule is not executed if the field is left blank. I need it to.
    - I can't control which field the validation message shows in (it always shows in the field on which the rule is attached).
    Is there any way I can hook into the v
    I've found the following example that seems to tackle similar problems:
    +107. Displaying ADF BC Mandatory Field Errors Using UI Hint Labels+
    http://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/examples/
    It's fairly long and complex solution though, which quite a lot of code to be written. This example is from 10g (in 2007). Does anyone know of a more elegant way to achieve this in 11g (in 2010 :) )?

    Thanks John! I didn't realise you could define entity-level rules - now found it in the Business Rules section of the entity properties.
    One more question: is there any way that I can specify which field is in error when an entity-level validation fails? It would be nice if my error message was attached to the field that is in error.

  • Sequence of Create Rows in View Object

    I have to insert a sequence of Rows in a entity object. While doing this , I need to display the master table record at the top of the page. I created a Data action (Dragged and Dropped Create button) which forwards to the data page containing ADF UIX input form and ADF UIX read only table(Master record). When I click te submit button, I commit the transaction and forward to the create data action again. I removed the following line from the Data Page.
    <formValue name="${bindings.statetokenid}" value="${bindings.statetoken}" id="_uixState"/>
    But Still, I'm not able to get the master record to display(Shows Empty Record) on third and subsequent insert rows. But the child record is inserted into the database on the first and second attempt.
    Please help me solve this problem.

    Are you using alterts related to that data object?
    Do you have any open report that uses that data object?

  • JDEV 10.1.3: Using "Create" binding on BC view object with ADF Faces Table

    Hello,
    I am trying to get this to work, but to no avail:
    I've got a very simple page (ADF Faces - JSPX) created by dragging an iterator from the data control pallete on to my page and picking "ADF Table..." as my chose to create. This creates a table on my page that allows me to edit each row in place. Very nice.
    Now, I dragged the create operation for that iterator on to the page. What I had hoped to see is that when I click "Create," a new blank row appears in my table (well, at least a row that is blank except for any default values specified in the EO/VO and my overriden create() method).
    However, this doesn't happen. The page submits and refreshes, but no blank row shows up. I initially tried setting the Create button to do partial submit and setting the partialtriggers for the table to include the Create button, to no avail. I also tried it without the partial submit with the same results.
    So:
    1). Should this work, or is this behavior a bug.?
    2). If not, is there a different/better way of doing it?
    Regards,
    John

    G'day John
    I think I can give you a hint of what is occuring... I'm still trying to work out what is happening exactly.
    In JDev 10.1.2 UIX, when the user invoked the create action, they would see the blank record added to the underlying table. Under 10.1.3 Faces the functionality is somewhat different.
    When you the user clicks on the create action a blank record is created but not shown in the table control. To prove the blank record is there try this:
    1) Build an ADF Input Form based on the same VO iterator
    2) In your JSF navigation, create a navigation case between the existing page and the new page, and another back again,
    3) In the existing page, map the Create button's action attribute to navigate to the ADF Input Form
    4) In the ADF Input Form, map the Submit button's action attribute to navigate to the ADF Table page.
    Now when you run your app, notice when you create a new record in the ADF Table which automatically takes you to the ADF Input Form, note the blank record, and the details you enter into the record here and submit, are then visible in the ADF Table on the return.
    This is a long way of proving that the new record is in the table. It's just you can't see it.
    I have a theory which I'm trawling through the newly updated documentation to verify. This issues goes back to the VO createRow vs insertRow method calls that have been documented by Steve Muench a couple of times. I'm guessing the table control is now smarter and doesn't show createRow records, only insertRow records.
    Read one of Steve's posts here regards the createRow vs insertRow method calls:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/blankrow/index.html
    If I find anymore info I'll endeavour to post it.
    Meanwhile this of course doesn't help you if you actually want to show the blank row in the ADF Table editable control, but I'd thought I'd give you an idea of what's happening behind the scenes.
    Hope this helps.
    CM.

  • How to create dynamic View Object and Dynamic Table

    Dear ll
    I want to create a dynamic view object and display the output in a dynamic table on the page.
    I am using Jdeveloper 12c "Studio Edition Version 12.1.2.0.0"
    This what I did:
    1- I created a read only view object with this query "Select sysdate from dual"
    2- I added this View object to the application module
    3- I created a new method that change the query of this View object at runtime

                dynamicVo.remove();
            dynamicVo = this.createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("DynamicVo", sqlstm);
            dynamicVo.executeQuery();
    4- I run the application module for testing the method and I passed "Scott.Emp" as a parameter and the result was Success
    5- Now I want to show the result of the view on the page, so I draged and dropped the method from the data control as a parameter form
    6- I dragged and dropped the view Object "DynamicVo" as a table and I choose "generate Column Dynamically at runtime". This is the page source

  • Using SQL view object to create ADF table

    Hi,
    I have created a column called "Month" (which extracts month from the date column) and another column to count the no. of requests.
    i want to create an ADF table with 2 columns, a column showing the month and another is showing the no. of requests for that month.
    However, now I only managed to achieve the ADF table to show the overall total requests, which means if i add up all the requests for all the months and i get 500
    My ADF table shows this:
    Jan: 500
    Feb: 500
    Mar: 500
    How should I create the view or what should I do to make it such that the no. of request is based on the month?
    Please advice.
    Thanks (:

    Hi,
    For the given situation you can create a Query Based View Object with the following query
    SELECT
    COUNT(TEMP1.DT) REQUEST,
    TO_CHAR(TEMP1.DT, 'Mon') MONTH
    FROM
    TEMP1
    GROUP BY
    TO_CHAR(TEMP1.DT, 'Mon')
    where DT is the date column and temp1 is the name of the database table.
    Following are the steps that i followed to get this query :
    i have taken the following sample table :
    create table temp1
    (srno number primary key,
    dt date)
    *Note you may use any existing column instead of srno or use dt only (i took an extra column as u know we need a primary key /row id)
    the following is the sample data
    insert into temp1 values (1,sysdate);
    insert into temp1 values (2,sysdate);
    insert into temp1 values (3,add_months(sysdate,1));
    insert into temp1 values (4,add_months(sysdate,1));
    insert into temp1 values (5,add_months(sysdate,3));
    insert into temp1 values (6,add_months(sysdate,5));
    the table appears as follows
    SRNO DT
    1 22-JUN-12
    2 22-JUN-12
    3 22-JUL-12
    4 22-JUL-12
    5 22-SEP-12
    6 22-NOV-12
    To start with ADF View Object Creation (Using Jdeveloper 11.1.2):
    Create the view object using Create View Object wizard
    In Step 1. Name window
    set the value for Name : Viewab (you can use any of ur choice)
    In the data source section : select query
    In Step 2. Query window
    a. Click Query builder (it will pop up sql statment window)
    b. In the SQL Statement window
    in quick-pick objects section -> select temp1 table -> shuttle the columns from available list to selected list
    in select clause section -> select srno column from select list-> choose count() function from function drop down list -> insert function -> set alias to REQUEST-> click validate
    now select dt column from select list -> choose to_char() function -> click insert function -> alter the function to to_Char(temp1.DT,'Mon') -> set alias to Month -> click validate
    in the group by clause section -> Click the green symbol to add -> from the expression palette insert dt column -> insert the to_char function -> alter the function to to_char(temp1.DT,'Mon') -> click validate
    in the Entire SQL Query section -> click test query -> in the test query window -> click query result-> you will see the result -> click close -> click ok
    Click next
    Step 3: Bind Variables
    Click Next
    Step 4: Attribute Mappings
    click Finish
    So the view object is ready :)

  • Possible bug when creating multiple detail view objects

    using jdev 11.1.1.0.0 to build jsf/adf applications. I wanted to report what seems like a bug in 11g. I have a parent table which has two child tables. After creating the appropriate entities, associations, views, and view links, the app module looks like this:
    MasterView
    --DetailView1
    --DetailView2
    The two detail view objects are on the same level, they are both direct children of the Master view.
    Here's what's happening:
    1) I create the master entity/view objects (MasterView)
    2) I create one of the detail entity/view objects (DetailView1).
    3) I create the association and view link to establish relationship between MasterView and DetailView1. Everything works fine.
    4) I create the entity/view objects for second detail view (DetailView2)
    5) When I attempt to create a second view link (based off an association) to establish the relationship between MasterView and DetailView2, the query clauses of the Create View Link wizard (screens 4 and 5) do not get created properly. I finish the wizard and save. Not only does this view link not get created properly, but in the process the query clauses that were defined in the first view link between MasterView and DetailView1 are wiped out. This will break any coordination between master and detail views in both the app module tester and runtime. Has anyone seen this problem?

    fyi, it looks like this issue has been resolved with jdev 11.1.1.0.2 (Update 2)

  • ADF BC: range paging on dynamic view object

    hi!
    i have a dynamically generated sql query and i want to get the results one page at a time. for this to work i create at runtime a view object and try to use range paging:
    String sql = "SELECT ...";
    ViewObject vo = appModule.createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("tmpVO"+System.currentTimeMillis(), sql);
    vo.setRangeSize(pageSize);
    vo.setAccessMode(RowSet.RANGE_PAGING);

    vo.getEstimatedRowCount();
    Row[] rows = vo.getAllRowsInRange();
    vo.remove();
    but when i run this it was pretty slow. so i traced the database session and saw that the executed query was the sql string, not the range paging select (SELECT * FROM (SELECT /*+ FIRST_ROWS */ IQ.*, ROWNUM AS Z_R_N FROM (...).
    i use range paging on other view objects that are not dynamically generated and it works fine. please tell me what can i do to get only the specified page from the data base.
    thank you

    here is the select i run:

    PS: I am using JDev 10.1.3.36.73

    You have a couple of choices. You could create one view object with a bind variable parameter(s) and in the application module you have 10 instances of that VO with appropriate values set for the bind variable in each instance.
    Or if you are using the LOV feature of a VO then you can set an attribute to point to one VO and then using a view cirteria applied to that specific LOV you can then "filter" the data that would appear in that LOV.
    Does that help?

  • Master-Detail: create detail-row(s) with id already filled in

    I have two tables with an one-to-many relationship (connected by 'id'). If you select a row from the master-table, you'll see the detail-table (with the various row's belonging to the master-record). Now I made a button which users can use to add additional rows to the detail-table. They get a form which they can fill in and submit, the only problem is... I don't want them to manualy fill in the id, this should be the only field that should already be filled in (or better should be invisible, but filled in). So they should select a master-row first and then click 'add' to add a detail-row(s) to it. But I have absolutely no clue how I can do this... I tried creating custom create methods in the view-object or entity-object... but the problem I keep running into is where to get the row-iterator... I have know idea if this is the right direction to look for, maybe somebody can give me some advice.
    Thanks in advance...!

    Steven, hope you can help me out once more...
    I have the same problem with a different view object, I'll explain...
    First of all I set jbo.locking.mode to 'optimistic', now the problem...
    I have two entity objects (Mbrships and Mbrshiphistory) which are connected by a foreign key (created in the database) on MbrshipID. Mbrshipshistory is also connected to the Aff entity object by a foreign key on AffID. The idea is simple... there are affiliates and a couple of memberships. An affiliate has/had a membership, that's where the membershiphistory-table comes in, which stores AffID, MbrshipID, DateFrom, DateTo and some other values.
    Now, what I created... JDeveloper created entity-objects of all the tables and made associations of the foreign keys. I created the following view objects: http://213.93.142.238/oracle/datamodel.jpg and application module: http://213.93.142.238/oracle/applicationmodule.jpg The (MemberToMembershipHistory) view link between Members and MembershipHostory is based upon the association between the two tables.
    The following is a screenshot of my struts-config.xml: http://213.93.142.238/oracle/struts-config.jpg
    Editing mbrshiphistories works fine, but I get the following error when I try to add one: oracle.jbo.InvalidOwnerException: JBO-25030: Failed to find or invalidate owning entity. I also don't see the AffID already filled in in the add/edit-screen (same problem as in the opening-post) when I try to add one. I double-checked everything, but I can't find the problem. Do you know what I do wrong...?
