Creating Multiple LibrarySession (Connection Pool), Using single LibraryService

Hello,
I am trying to create multiple LibrarySession with a single LibraryService, so that each user can pick a new session from a pool and release LibrarySession back to the pool, when the user task is been completed.
Question.
1. Is it possible to create LibrarySession Pool ?
2. If yes, Can any one suggest, whether there will be any improvement in the performance of the application by doing so, or Oracle IFS internally handles the connection pool mechanism for LibrarySession.
3. Does Oracle IFS handle LibrarySession pool internally.
If there is any code, which does similar action, please do forward.

Sujeem, we do not pool LibrarySession instances for you. You may see a performance improvement if you maintain a LibrarySession pool, depending on the application. See the following post for more info:

Please note that although LibrarySession instances are not pooled for you, the underlying database connections are pooled.

Running WLS 6.0 communicating with WLE 4.2:
I'm looking at setting up multiple connection pools to communicate with multiple
WLE application domains.
The code fragment below is from the BEA documentation and works fine if you know
the domain(pool) name. My code uses the "lookup" method in the InitialContext
class to get the pool name for single WLEC pool/domain configuration. Is there
a method to return a list of domain(pool) names?
Each WLEC connection pool has a Tobj_Bootstrap object that lets you access the
associated WLE domain. The WLEC component provides an object called BootstrapFactory
which provides access to the Tobj_Bootstrap object for a particular WLE domain.
Include the following code in your WebLogic Server client to connect to a WLE
domain:
Tobj_Bootstrap myBootstrap = Tobj_BootstrapFactory.getClientContext("myPool");
where
The getClientContext() method returns the Tobj_Bootstrap object that is associated
with myPool. If getClientContext() cannot find a WLEC connection pool with this
name, it returns null.
myPool is the name of a WLEC connection pool for the desired WLE domain. This
WLEC connection pool needs to be defined in the Administration Console.

Create a dedicated connection pool for initialization blocks

Hi,
I'm using OBIEE11.6, then I set a session initialization block in RPD, and this block is based on connection pool '"My_DB".
"My_CP"'.
when Consistency Checking it warning as follow:
Initialization Block 'Authorization' uses Connection Pool '"My_DB".
"My_CP"' which is used for report queries. This may impact query performance.
but there is no table under the connection pool "My_CP",so I don't know why it say it's used for report queries? and how to remove the warning?
any one know it?

Hi Leo,
Generally, when there is only one connection pool for a database in physical layer, the BI Server understands this to be the only connection pool for queries (I do not think this really checks if there are underlying tables. I think this is because there is a way to add tables to a database by right clicking on connection pool and choosing import metadata.).
As a good practise, when you have init block pointing to a specific database please make sure that you create another connection pool just for the use by init blocks. This would make sure that the report queries and init blocks do not go on a single pool.
So, for your case, create a second connection pool and point your init blocks to the second one. Yes, you cannot point to the first one as it is kind of reserved by BI Server for reports. (Unless you change this in the Options menu of .rpd)

Configuring JCo3 Connection Pool with single sign on on non SAP Java server

Hi Everyone,
i have configured a connection pool on JBoss as per JCo3 Documentation and is working great.
Now I need help to configure this connection pool with single sign on so that RFc on SAP ECC systems are executed using end users credential rather than using single user name password used to configure JCo connection pool.
On SAP Java stack I am sure its possible within Java WebDynpro and i assume using JCA resource adapter. But what if we don't want to use SAP Java App server.
Any help will be appreciated.

but can you base a block on this database connect? No you can't.

Program has to upload 1 million records,so can we programmatically create multiple sessions such that after every 50thousand records we create a different session.
For moment due to large number of records BDC DYNPRO and BDC Field are unable to hold the large number of records,due to which we get a Out of memory error.

Create multiple SOA Clusters in a single domain?

Is it allowed to create multiple SOA Clusters in a single domain with both SOA Clusters sharing the same soa-infra schema but deploying different composites?
Create a domain with
- Admin server (AdminServer)
- SOA_Cluster1
-soa_server1
-soa_server2
- SOA_Cluster2
-soa_server3
-soa_server4
SOA_Cluster1 will need to deploy servcies A, B and C and SOA_Cluster2 will have services A, D and E. Is there any documentation which can help us with this?

Thanks for the document link but it seems that the document was created only yesterday. Can you elaborate on "only one set of SOA schemas is allowed per SOA domain/cluster". I was able to build another SOA cluster_2 to my existing domain with SOA_cluster1 pretty successfully. The only problem was the internal JMS queues were configured as Uniform Distributed. hence i was not able to point them to 2 clusters.

Error in creating Connection Pool using Oracle Thin Driver

I am trying to create a connection pool in WS 5.1 with sp #6 using Oracle Thin Driver (oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver) on a Sun box. But I am able to create the pool using weblogic.jdbc.oci.Driver. I get an DBMS Driver exception when I use thin driver. I have LD library path and weblogic class path set correctly. WL shows the following exception :

Hi Ramu,
Please post your connection pool setting here. You might have missed some
port/server info. The driver is unable to connect to the db server here.

How do I create a non-JTS sequence connection pool using JTS

I'm getting all kinds of errors (DB deadlocks and exceptions) using JTS with sequences. From reading several posts, it is necessary to create a separate non-JTS connection pool.
I've seen several postings on how to do this in the sessions.xml file, but how do I do this in Java code?
What I am trying is:
SequencingControl seqCtrl = ((oracle.toplink.publicinterface.DatabaseSession)serverSession).getSequencingControl();
seqCtrl.setShouldUseSeparateConnection(true);
seqCtrl.setLogin(sequenceLogin);
I've also tried:
serverSession.addConnectionPool("sequencing", sequenceLogin, 2,5);
but neither work. The problem with these settings is that the sequence properties on my DatabaseLogin are not honored.
My table name is T_SEQUENCES and my preAllocation size is 5. However the SQL that is generated by this setup is:
"UPDATE SEQUENCE SET SEQ_COUNT = SEQ_COUNT + 50 WHERE SEQ_NAME = 'T_GROUPS_SEQ'"
I'm guessing these may be default values, but I don't know where else to override these except for on the DatabaseLogin I am passing in.
I know this setup works, because it is the same DatabaseLogin I use for non-JTS configuration.
Could someone provide me a code-snippet on how to do this?

I'm not using XML files, all of my setup is in code. I'm not sure how I would use the setLoginAndApplySequenceProperties(DatabaseLogin) call or if it would address my larger problem.
The main issue I don't want to lose here is, I've got an application where I'm trying to use JTS with JBoss and SQL Server. It's a SessionBean/POJO architecture. The problem I was having that started this thread is that sequence number allocation causes a database deadlock.
My thought was if I opened a 2nd connection pool dedicated to sequences, it might resolve the issue. I was able to do this with the workaround I posted, but it didn't fix anything. I now get a different error related to my newly inserted objects.
From working with this off-and-on over the last several months, I would say that I don't think TopLink/JBoss/SQL Server using JTA can be made to work.
I know that TopLink has a plug-in architecture and in theory if I implemented ExternalTransactionController and SynchronizationListener for JBoss correctly, it should all work.
But, I've got the JBoss 4.0.0 source that I can step through, I've got all the recent updates to SQL Server and the JDBC driver, and I'm following everything I've been told so far on how to make this all work.
It plain doesn't work.
Furthermore, I haven't found anyone (this group, JBoss group) that has gotten this to work (TopLink/JBoss/JTA). This is an important item to us, we'd like to get this to work, and we would be happy to work with Oracle Consulting on this or whatever it takes (already opened a TAR on this).
Are there any other support options available to making this work?
