Creating one analytic view in another analytic view

Hello Team
Can some one please suggest me that whether can we create one anal ytic view inside another analytic view . Also can some please suggest me whether we can create a calculation view inside another calculation view .
Regards

Hi Prag,
A calculation view/Analytical view/Attribute view /columnar table can be used inside a calculation view.
A columnar table/attribute view can be used inside an Analytical view. It is not possible to use an analytical view inside another analytical view.

• One performance view for two classes, possible?

Hi there,
My system is still running 2007 R2. I am writing a MP now which contains two classes. There are few performance collection rules targeting those two classes. I want to create one performance view to display performance data for BOTH classes. Is it possible?
I already created an instance group and added both classes as member of the group. By using the group, I can created one alert view to display alerts from either class. Can I use the same trick for the performance view? Thanks!

In addition, we also can add a dashboard view with two columns for the two classes, and add performance widget for each column.

• Creating a "Print View" of a Table on Another Sheet

Hi-
I would like to create a "print view" of a table on another sheet that already has reorganization filters applied to it. There is a template in Numbers called "Employee Schedule" that has exactly this, where the "printable" table's cells simply reference every cell in the source table on the other sheet.
I know there is a way to very quickly (i think with a dragging motion), create the references in each cell in one or two operations, as opposed to going to each individual cell and typing in the reference to the source table. I saw a post about how to do this a while back but cannot seem to locate it again
How do I do this? Thanks again for everyones help ;-)
Thanks
Matt

Hi-
Re-reading this, I don't think this answered my question. I understand how to reference a single cell, but how do you reference an entire table easily without having to go to each cell.
Thanks
Matt
Matt,
Select the first cell by clicking once on it, such that the border is highlighted. Then grab the little circle in the lower right corner of the border and drag it to the end of your table, either right or down. You can use this method to fill down or to the right. Sometimes it can be fussy, and if it refuses to behave, then you can use the alternate method, Copy and Paste. Click once on the first cell and Command-C. Shift-click the last cell and Command-V.

• How to create a state view / alert view hosting more than one class?

We have an applications which has two type of servers: one is connector server while another one is processing server. So I created two classes for each of them: ConnectSrvClass and ProcessSrvClass. Each of the class has a property "Type" to mark
what kind of server it is.
Now I want to create ONE SINGLE state view to display the state of both classes. Samething I want to create ONE SINGLE alert view to display alert coming from either type of the servers. Is it possible? If so, how?
Thanks!

Create an instance group, and then scope the view based on that group. This will work well for an alert view, but not as well for state view. If you want state view with multiple classes using same seed, then you can select the server role as base for
those classes and display state of each in a single view. This is
explained here.

• Hide a column in one table view but show it in another

I need to hide a column in one tables view but show it in another table view in the same report. Is this possible?
Any help on this is appreciated.

Hi VNC,
If you're crafty with javascript, you could probably write a script that would set the CSS property DISPLAY to NONE to hide the column in the table view you didn't want but leave it there in the view you did want.

• Creating a materialized view for another user

I don't seem to find the correct setup for this....
With the user "dummy"
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW dummy.thetable BUILD IMMEDIATE REFRESH FORCE ON DEMAND AS select * from real.thetable;
And the materialized view is created ok.
With a DBA user:
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW dummy.thetable BUILD IMMEDIATE REFRESH FORCE ON DEMAND AS select * from real.thetable;
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
I don't want to be switching back and forth from the user to create materialized views, am I missing a permission here? DBA of course has create any materialized view

From the SQL Reference Guide:
To create a materialized view in another user’s schema:
- You must have the CREATE ANY MATERIALIZED VIEW system privilege.
- The owner of the materialized view must have the CREATE TABLE system privilege. The owner must also have access to any master tables of the materialized view that the schema owner does not own (for example, if the master tables are on a remote database), and to any materialized view logs defined on those master tables, either through a SELECT object privilege on each of the tables or through the SELECT ANY TABLE system privilege.
I suspect that, if you first GRANT CREATE TABLE TO DUMMY, you will be able to create the MV.

I have a document made up of separate PDF files which reside in a folder and are linked to each other via hyperlinks. Each pdf file is set to open with bookmarks displayed, however if I link from one PDF file to another and use the "Previous View" button to navigate back to my starting point the bookmarks are replaced by "page thumbnails". Is there anyway to stop this from happening?

Hi Pusman,
While setting up the links, if you choose to open the file in a new window then you won't face this issue, then you can simply switch to the previous file and bookmark view will remain as it is.
Does that helps with your query?

• How to create one form without table acces or view

I am using portal 9.0.3; i want to create one form without acces to any table or view. There will be only 5 LOV ( radio group)
and one botton . With this button i would like to read a specific file form the DB portal ( the name of the file will be the concatenation
of the 5 answers of the radio group ).
How can i do that with the tools of the portla.
I am really new one in the portal development however i developped a lot of code in C

I understand your problem. In this case, you can create a form on a procedure with 6 parameters. The first 5 parameters will the 5 LOV values selected. 6th one will be the button value clicked. Just pass them as parameters and your code for reading the file can be plugged in this procedure.

What do you hope to achieve by this? A refresh? If so, a simple refresh of the old materialized view will do.
If you truly want to continue this road, you'll have to use the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE command to execute DDL commands from within PL/SQL.

• ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID - View OK on one database, not on another

Hi guys
I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light on this.
I have taken an export of our apps development database, and imported it onto my own machine.
There are a number of views that will not compile on my database, but are compiled fine on the development box.
So I know the SQL is fine.
My version of the database is 11.2.0.1.0, and the one I exported it from is 11.1.0.7.0 so there is a slight difference there, so I guess that could be the issue.
So the message I get is :
ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID from, or sample, a join view without a key-preserved table
And an example piece of sql causing this follows. Can anyone suggest why these views would be fine on one machine, but not on an exported version of the same database on my machine ?

Can I create only one Oracle View (from TAB_ID) to get this output?

If all your data conforms to the pattern given above then this (warning! untested code ahead) will work:

/Otherwise, you'll need to use a slightly more sophisticated format checker. I suggest you look at Re: How to test a variable to determine whether it is a CHARACTER on use of TRANSLATE().

• Search UIBB which has more than one analytical queries specified

Hi,
Has anyone used Search UIBB and specified more than one analytical queries? I have one search UIBB as a Master UIBB of Tabbed UIBB and two tabs. In each tab there is one Analytical List UIBB which has its own query. Both queries have input variables. Do you know if these variables should have the same names in order for the search UIBB to work?

Hi,
I think I got the same problem! I tried to combine all the tables in a new view and create a query on this view.
But when I search and my result has to be one record from the main table, I get this record more than once.
I tried to use distinct but that does not work because each column has a different value, so the record is never the same.
I hope someone can help us!

• [Solved]How to create ADF interface View

Hi All,
I have a design problem that I need some help with.
In one of the pages in our application, we have two drop down boxes one with account type and another with account name (label) and account number (value).
The account types are Escrow, Credit and Misc (some other types). all three types are in three different tables.
Now the problem is, in the page when the account type is selected, the second drop down box should be filled with respective account numbers.
So my question is Can I create an interface view and implement in all three different account type views and use it for second drop down box.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks

You might do a VO with a union of the three tables - use a custom SELECT like this:
SELECT 'Escrow' account_type, account_number, balance, ... FROM escrow_accounts
UNION
SELECT 'Credit', account_number, balance, ... FROM credit_accounts
UNION
SELECT 'Misc.', account_number, balance, ... FROM misc_accountsUse NULL for any column in a table that does not have that column. I'm not sure if you can use Entity Objects (one EO per table) with such a VO to make the data updatable - it might have to be a read-only VO.
Or create a database view with this SELECT and base the VO on that view instead of a table. You can even make the view updatable with INSTEAD OF triggers and base an EO on the view.

• Creating and Using View Objects on JDev 10g against SQL Server 2005

I'm currently working on this project on Jdeveloper against a SQL Server 2005 DB (I couldn't talk this people to migrate to Oracle... :-( ), and it's the first time I work with JDev against a database other than 10g.
I had no problem making the connection, and I can see the DB in Conections->Databases, but when I create an app. module, and create entities and views and add them to the app. module to access them through the Data Controls, these don't work. I can see the view on the Data Controls, and when I drag them to my jspx page it shows the menu that let's me choose whether I want to create a table, or a selection, or a tree, but once I choose one, it does nothing.
I've search all over the internet and haven't found a solution, so I come to this forum desperate for help, seriously.
Please get in touch; if anyone knows another solution that doesn't involve not using JDev or SQL Server 2005, please let me know, because I basically need to have a few selectonechoice showing some data from a few tables.
Thanks for reading this post, and hope to get help.

can you run the model in the ADF BC tester ? If this is possible the SQL Server doesn't seem to be the problem. Are you on JDeveloper 10.1.3.3? If not, just get this latest build
