Creating query filter from a created variable

Hi,
On my report, I am using two of my measures to derive a text message in a third column, which is a list of exceptions, so it is a finite list, which will be displayed on the screen.
I want to create a filter in the query that allows me to filter the results for the third column, allowing me to select a list of values of what I want. Is this possible?
The closest I've gotten is a report filter (which is not at the query level) and even then, the list of finite values has not populated automatically, I need to type the values that I want in the report. This is not optimal, as other users of the system will not have any knowledge of what possible values there are, so I need it to display the different possible variable values to filter on as a list, rather than free standing text.
Can anyone help me with my problem? Thanks

John responded to our hiring ad, but didn’t give us everything we asked for, he only gave us our keywords, & he seemed so sincere saying they were down to earth, great at customer service, etc., so I sincerely told him it’s too bad he didn’t give us all we asked for. I wasn’t being sarcastic, I was simple stating my disappointment.

  • How can I create a filter from a contact list?

I have a lot of classes that I teach. I have created an email contact list for all of my individual classes, which I would like to create a single fitler for each of these list, in order to put them into a corresponding folder. It would save me a lot of drag and drop and checking, in which class my student is to create a filter for that student. I have ten classes with about 25 students each... So that would save me a huge amount of time!
    cheers and regards

Perhaps a filter that looks like the one in this picture would work.

  • Function module to create query view from technical name of the query ?

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to create webservice definition using function module.
In this code, I am calling function module 'RSCRMBW_REPORT' which requires query view name ( we can see this in RSCRM_BAPI) as a value for parameter i_reportuid.
For the time being I am hardcoding the value but I need to use a function module which will convert techincal name of query into query view.
Can anyone have any idea about the above requirement? Or is there any other way to solve the problem?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
You can use FMs CONVERSION_EXIT_GENID_INPUT  and CONVERSION_EXIT_GENID_OUTPUT to get query view.
First call FM CONVERSION_EXIT_GENID_INPUT with parameter input as query technical name then it will return Output in the form of GENID .
Pass this GENID as input parameter to FM CONVERSION_EXIT_GENID_OUTPUT to get query view as output.
    Eg :
    Test for function group      RRI5
    Function module              CONVERSION_EXIT_GENID_INPUT
    Uppercase/Lowercase
    Runtime:        6,652 Microseconds
      Import parameters               Value
      INPUT                           Y0IC_C03_Q0018_2
      Export parameters               Value
      OUTPUT                          4D1I916ID7TWS1CK27154WYZ8
    Test for function group      RRI5
    Function module              CONVERSION_EXIT_GENID_OUTPUT
    Uppercase/Lowercase
    Runtime:        2,818 Microseconds
      Import parameters               Value
      INPUT                           4D1I916ID7TWS1CK27154WYZ8
      Export parameters               Value
      OUTPUT                          0IC_C03/Y0IC_C03_Q0018_2
    0IC_C03/Y0IC_C03_Q0018_2 is expected query view.
    Hope it helps...

  • Unable to create PDF report from custom created roles in 12.1

    Hi All,
This is something very new to me. I have created all my development under the super admin role,
I have created three roles in the UME and i have assigned the pages to the Roles,
When i execute a transaction which writes the output of a transaction to a PDF from the super admin role everything is working fine.
When i tried to do  the same with the user assigned to thet newely created roles, the out of the transaction is not been written.
I am storing the PDF in the WEB tab of xMII and call it when ever used clicks a button.
Can anyone plz help me in this issue.
    Regards,
    Shyam

    Hello Michael,
I am using MII 12.1.4 build 36. For the roles which i have created i have assigned actions like
    XMII_User
    XMII_OutputStorageServlet
    XMII_QualityPortal
    XMII_PDFService
    XMII_LocalizationService
    XMII_PersonalizationService
    XMII_AuditService.
When i have the action XMII_FULL_Access is assigned everything is working perfectly,
I have assigned the roles i have created in the security tab of the Query, Display templetes and in the transaction.
The real problem i can figure is that, when we are logging in as super admin the transaction is able to write the output of the transaction to a location in the WEB tab. but when i am logging in as the user assigned to the Cutome role, it is not able to write the output in the scecified location. i am still seeing the last output which i have executed under the super admin role.

    Shyam

  • Creating Editable PDF from Form Created in LiveCycle

I believe the anwser is no, but I want to confirm. If I create a pdf form in LiveCycle Designer, can I load and populate that pdf form with a different library such as iText or do I have to use continue to use the LiveCycle PDF Services. (2.5)
    Thanks

Yes, you can update forms from designer with data from any number of libraries, from iText to the Adobe PDF Java Toolkit to any variety of .NET products.  The key is that there are different APIs for the XFA form (you update the XML data stream in the XFA area) and acroforms (where you update individual fields or update through FDF/XFDF import).
Also, keep in mind that a reader-extended form or a signed form should be changed in incremental update mode or you'll lose the rights and the signature.

  • Create query views on WAD

    Hi all!,
In BI netweaver 7, is recommended to allow final users have access to create Query Views from WAD/Productive environment?,  this is because when production is closed, final users cannot save Query Views because transport error is generated.
We saw on help.sap.com: “Note that you cannot create query views on the Web if the standard transport system is active because this requires the transport request dialog box”.
Any suggestions are welcome, hope you could help us.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
you have to change the 'Object Changeability' setting for Query View in your productiv system. Then there will be no Transport System connection and you'll get no error message.
Go to the Administrator Workbench (Data Warehousing Workbench, transaction RSA1) -> 'Goto' -> 'Transport Connection' and choose 'Object Changeability'. To display the function, you may have to enlarge the window or press the arrow keys nearby.
In the following dialog box you can select the object types that you want to be changeable, even though the system is set to not changeable.
This task should be done by your System Administrator because additional steps could be necessary.
Take a look at SAP Note 337950 which describes general steps.
    Regards

Edited by: keetu on Apr 2, 2008 1:17 PM

    Hi,
Basically you are creating a SAP Query for no of tables, please find the steps below.
1.Give quickview name XXXX and then select create tab.
2.Give Title and data source "table join"
3.Select either basis mode or layout mode(this is option how you do want the report basically)
4.Select insert table and give table name"BKPF" and select insert table once again and give the other table name like"MKPF"(Just example)
5.If you want to map reference the fields keep the curser on fields in fifferent tables and select reference fields.
6.Then go back and select the fields from doc headers from accounting and material and save, now your query is ready and you can execute so that you will be able to get the fields from both tables.
Hope understood and assign the points if you are cleared..
    Thanks,
    Vasu..

  • How can I create a fIlter to delete only "junk" from the server?

One of my E-mail accounts is that of a major client. I handle their customer service online. Normally our protocol is to always leave all messages on the server, so for that one Thunderbird account, I have it set to never delete messages on the server.
But the account recently started getting a lot of junk messages. Thunderbird is doing a remarkable job at marking those and placing them in the junk folder for that account. I would like to create a filter that could remove them from the server, preferably those more than "x" days old so I could monitor the activity to be sure that no important message are removed.
I did notice that in "Filters" I can create a custom filter from a header of my choice, but can't seem to create what I want which is:
    - after mail is marked as Junk by Thunderbird to delete those messages from the server if they are older than "X" days (my choice of "X").
    - not delete any other messages from the server for that account

I believe that did it! Thank you. I am running those changes on a secondary E-Mail address for the same job and server and it appears to be working properly.

however I can not query this from another node cachealone1

    The command failed.
    Command> SELECT * FROM oratt.subscriber WHERE subscriberid = 1004;
    2206: Table ORATT.SUBSCRIBER not found
    The command failed.
    Command> SELECT * FROM oratt.subscriber;
    2206: Table ORATT.SUBSCRIBER not found
this is example from Oracle docs, I an not sure where I missed for this. thanks for your help.

Sounds like you have not created the Global AWT cache groupo in the second datastore? There is a multi-step process needed to roll out a cache grid and various things must be done on each node in the correct order. have you done that?
Try checking out the QuickStart example here:

  • Creating a Query Filter with the MDX editor

I want to create a non mandatory predefined condition in the universe where only the last 31 days are returned. I would like to do this in the MDX editor in universe (released in XI 3.1) and not in the BEx query. There isn't much in the MDX editor that looks useable for this particular issue...and to be honest I haven't a clue what MDX equivalent of sysdate is. The logic is so simple in RDBMS world: The equivalent logic in SQL would be <date> between <sysdate-31> and <sysdate>).
Unforetunately, I cannot do this at the BEx query easily (at least not until I exhaust this option).
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi,
right now in the Universe you missing the option to do calculations with system like the system date.
You can really easily do this in the BEx Query with an SAP EXIT variable.

I would like to create a filter that searches the actual message for a word. I thought "body" did that but appearently it doest.
For example, i want to filter out all the emails mentioning "free" and "Casino" INSIDE the message.
