Creating simpel iview

Hi Experts,
I have a question:
I want to create a simpel iview that contains an image + some text, well the image is not that important maybe text only?. Like on the frontpage of SDN i know that was created with WPC. But i dont have WPC atm.
I only have used NWDS just to edit de portal desktop, so it would be nice if someone could explain in detail how to start and finish :P.
If im editing the iView i need to be able to edit the text. The end-user will see: The titel and under the title the news. Or does SAP have a standard solution for this?

In portal if you are using the km in that case you can create a html page there you can add some text along with image, and that file you can call using a km document iview .If it is the content that you will keep for some time to show on home page.
Otherwise you can use xml form builder which is a standard sap solution for creation of content files.

How can I create an iView without visual components in VC

Hello:
I'm trying to create an iView with on ly a call to a data service inside: start point, call, end pont. But VC it's giving me errors when I compile it.
If I add a visual component to the iView: form, table, html. Iview compiles and works OK.
theer is any wat ti create non visual iViews in VC?.

I'm getting an error when I'm deploting the iView. That error is only when I deploy as Flex.
If I deploye as Webdynpro or Flex2, there are no deployments errors.
The error text is not ver specific it says that I need to check the flex log.
Do you know wher I can chech that deployment flex log?. I'm not sure if I'm checking the correct log.

In iView defines the integrated view,which is going to give all integrated sourcesystems information to portal.
The Portal Content Studio provides a framework for creating iViews in 3 ways.
1.iView wizards
2.Copy&Paste actions
3.Content mirroring tools.
Creating iView Instances Using Copy-Paste
Use
You can instantaneously create new iViews without a wizard (see Object Creation Wizards) by copying existing iView instances using the portal's Copy, Paste, and Paste as Delta Link actions.
Both paste actions (Paste and Paste as Delta Link) create new iViews that are delta links instances; however, the relation of the new object to the one being copied differs. This difference is illustrated in the figure below.
■ The Content Mirroring tool can also be used to duplicate content. Delta links are generated between the original and copied objects. See Content Mirroring.
■ To view the delta link source objects and dependents of an object, use the delta link tracer. See Tracing Delta Link Dependencies.
Procedure
You use the Copy with the Paste and Paste as Delta Link actions with iViews just as you would other object types in the Portal Catalog.
For general usage instructions and a description of the commands, see Copying an Object or Folder (Copy & Paste).
As the first step you have to navigate to the right Portal Content folder, where you want to add the BI report as Portal iView.
Then you have to create a new iView using the context menu: New -> iView
Now you see the iView Wizard. In the first step you have to choose iView template create an iView from an existing iView template as source type.
In the next step you have to choose the iView template BEx Web Application iView.
Then you have to provide an ID (technical name of the Portal Content iView), a description, the iView ID Prefix and the master language of the iView.
Then you have to choose the version of the BEx Web Application. If you created the Web Template using the Web Application Designer based on SAP BW 2.x/3.x, you have to choose the appropriate option. If you have created the Web Template using the new Web Application Designer based on SAP NetWeaver 2004s, you have to choose the option SAP NetWeaver BI 7.x
In the next step you have to type in a prefix (depending on the version of the BEx Web Application) and the technical name of the Web Template. If you have used the SAP BW 2.x/3.x Web Application Designer version you have to use the prefix TEMPLATE_ID=. If you have used the Web Application Designer based on SAP NetWeaver BI 7.x, you have to use the prefix TEMPLATE= (e.g. TEMPLATE=MYTEMPLATE_ID).
In the last wizard step you can check your entries, you have made before. You can also set the flag Open for editing, when wizard completes. Then you can directly work on the BI iView to do some further adjustments.
After pressing the Finish-button in the iView wizard the iView properties show up. There you can select the property category Appearance Size. For the property Height Type you should select Automatic in order to avoid scroll bars on the portal page later on. Save your settings and close your BI iView
In the next step you want to add your newly created BI iView to a page. Therefore you have to first navigate to the page you want to add the new iView (or you can create a new page). Then you have to open the page via the context menu &#56256;&#56518; Open &#56256;&#56518; Object
To add the iView to the page you have to navigate again to the newly created iView. Via context menu you can add now the iView to the page: Right-mouse click on the iView &#56256;&#56518; Add iView to page &#56256;&#56518; Deltalink. Afterwards you save the page.
Finally you can do a preview to have a look at your new BI iView that is integrated into the portal page. Depending on the result you can adjust the page layout.
As a result you will see the BI iView on your portal page.
Before you can create a BI iView in the Enterprise Portal, the system connection and the alias of the BI system has to be defined. This can be done in the System Administration of the Portal &#56256;&#56518; System Configuration &#56256;&#56518; System Landscape
Also the user mapping to the BI system has to be maintained (in order to use single-sign on). This can be done in the user administration &#56256;&#56518; Identity Management

Error While creating new iview

Hi,
I am trying to create an iview in Portal 6.0 & while creating iview getting following error
Portal Runtime Error

Hi Smita,
The error shows that Editor is already open in other session for this iview.
Have you checked whether this iview got locked ?
To unlock the iview.Go to System admin->Monitoring->Portal->Object locking
there you can unlock the object.

How do I create an iView with multiple links to R/3 transactions

Hello Portal developers,
I'm looking for a solution for displaying multiple links on a single iView or Page. The requirement is calling for several SAP Transactions and a link to an external web application from a single view. Could or should this be done using KM Navigation iView, or creating separate iViews for each link and placing them in a page?

Are the SAP Transactions fixed ?
I mean have you fixed that only these many transactions have to be displayed ?
If yes, better option would be to create separate iviews for each and assign these to the "Related Links" or "Dynamic Navigation" of a page.
IF no, that means, you want the user shall enter the transaction code and that transaction should open up in iview, then ofcourse you cant go in for the above solution.

I want to create an IVIEW for an ABAP Webdynpro application in the enterprise portal.

The process is almost exactly the same as creating a Web Dynpro Java iView. You simply chose the ABAP instead of the Java radio button when you reach that step in the Web Dynpro iView creation process. There is a video on the topic here:

Publish to portal error when creating a iview

hi gurus,
I have done complete BI-EP integration. SSO is also working fine. But when i publish a query from query designer to portal, i am geting a error when creating a iview for the query as show below.
Error:
Java system error: call FM RSRD_X_MAP_TO_PRTL_USERS_PROXY to ProgId EPD_PORTAL_B07 on host epdev with SSO not authorized: Authentication failed.
when i manually create a BI Query iview,its working fine but to create a iview from publish to portal in query designer it is througing me error.

I encountered a problem while creating URL iview (in EP7.0) as when I selected the iview template for creating the URL iview, the content area got displayed as
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."

I am still getting the same messages even after creating the iview template in EP7.0
Created through:
content Admin --> portal content --> <folder>new --> iview --> seleting "Portal component - create an iView from a portal component contained in a deployed portal archive (PAR file)" <next> --> seleting "com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap" <next> --> webdynpro <next> --> finish.
Open object for editing...--> Object is a Template to Yes.
Result :
content Admin --> portal content --> <folder>new --> iview --> seleting "iview template- create an iView from an existing iView template" <next> which displays the same message.
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."

Error in creating IAC iviews

Dear All,
We are trying to create IAC iviews but getting error.
Environment details:
OS: AIX 5.3
DB Oracle 10.2.0.2(UC)
Application EP7.0 (SPS14)
Backend ECC 6.0 SR3
We followed the below mentioned steps:
01) Created one Internet Service ziactest in se80 with the parameters -
~transaction = tcode and ~generatedynpro = 1
02) Published the 'complete service' to the site INTERNAL.
03) Created one sub element under /sap/bc/gui/sap/its as ziactest
04) Modified the service ziactest as :
- specified "GUI Link" = Yes
- specified following GUI Configuration parameters:
~WEBGUI = 1
~SINGLETRANSACTION = 1
~NOHEADEROKCODE = 1
~TRANSACTION = tcode
~GENERATEDYNPRO = 1
- specifed handler as CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS
05) save & activated the service
When trying to test the service, we are getting a script error "Error on Page": wgu_global_eventhandler is null or not an object and the page displayed - is getting distorted . Also, system is specifying that: "The URL
http://gcbeccd:/sap/public/bc/its/mimes/system/page/menubase.html was not called due to an error."
When tried directly with the above url, the following error is getting displayed:
"The following error text was processed in the system RD3: The theme extracted from PAGE/MENUBASE.HTML has more than 2 characters."
Please note that: The SAP GUI for HTML has been configured and working properly. Also, the SAP note 790727 has been applied to resolve this problem but no result.
Any help in this regard will be highly appriciated.

If the webgui service is working then there should be no reason for this to not work. By specifying ~webgui 1 you're actually not using any template you've created for the ziactest service. The URL should be:
http://gcbeccd:/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/ziactest
Please also try:
http://gcbeccd:/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?~transaction=tcode
Please also publish the IAC, WEBGUI and SYSTEM Internet Services from SE80 to the Internal ITS.
You should look at the developer trace (dev_w#) for the Dialog Workprocess that is used and reporting the error for more information.

Approach 1:
One of creating BSP iView is as follows:
For this we have to say Create iView --> Select iView Template --> Select SAP BSP iView
Set following properties:

Now we can call the iView in Page etc.
Approach 2:
Other way of creating BSP iView is that we can create URL for BPS application.
For this we should login into SAP BW. Go to transaction code bps_wb and then open the Web Interface. Then we can go to Edit --> Display in external browser.
Some link will appear. The link will look like:

How do i go abt in creating an iview UI in web dynpro that interfaces with Trex .
basically i have set of documents that need to be searched and the iview should be called Advanced search which fetches the data from the indexed documents.

Steps to create RFC iview

So please let me know steps to create RFC iview and one Example.

In its simplest steps:
1 Create an SAP system in the system landscape - don't use Conenction String as the type.
2 Give it an alias.
3 Set permissions so your administrators and endusers can access the system.
4 Use the RFC iView creation wizard and select the system alias and your RFC.
5 Make sure you do step 4 as a user who has RFC access to the SAP system.
6 Test it!
Please note that changing the RFC iView after creation is a little messy. You might be better off using the Visual Composer - it is much neater at displaying RFC table data than the RFC iView.

How to Create an IView on EP 6

I have installed EP6 and the SAP Web AS using the sneak priview edition . We have to get certified on SAP in two steps :
1. running our J2EE applications on the SAP WebAS which we have completed successfully .
2) Build a Iview which would access our data which lies in an Oracle Database . (The Priview edition had to be installed with SQL Server but we want to grab data for the Iview from our Oracle Database).
I have very little time left for getting Certified . What would be the best way of getting this done . <b>I need to build one main Iview to grab our data from our Oracle database to present one of our significant reports.
Do i need to have the DQE running for this ?</b>
With so much documentation it has been very confusing for me and i have been unable to get the right steps to proceed with this implemenation . I am new to the Certification and also not a Java Developer.

The steps to create the JDBC Query iView are as follows.
Login as System Administrator,
Navigate to System Administration>System Configuration>System Landscape
Create a new system,
Choose JDBC System>Assign name etc>Open Object for Editing
Under property category choose: Connection & assign,
Connection Timeout = 60
Connection URL = jdbc:sap:oracle://<YOUR_ORACLEHOSTNAME>:1521;SID=<YOURSID>
Driver Class Name = com.sap.portals.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver
SAVE
Change the Property Category to: Distributed Query Engine
Enter the admin user\password to the oracle database.
SAVE
Change the Property Category to: User Management
Choose admin,user
SAVE
Now change the Display category to System Aliases
Enter a system alias for the system.
Go to user management and assign your login details to the system alias you just created.
Go back to the system in the system landscape and right click and choose connection tests.
Test your connection, at this point if it fails check & re-check the above steps. Ensure that the passwords etc that you provided are correct.
Once this is done all we now need to do is create the JDBC connection iView.
Go to Content Administration, create a new iView using: JDBC Stored Procedure iView>Assign name etc>Choose the system alias we just created>Find your function(You will need DBA to create this for you)>Choose your result set value, Open the object for editing> Click preview. You should see the result from the function (Stored Procedure)

Create an iview for batch document upload to KM

Hi, I´m trying to create an iview for batch document upload to the portal. At the moment, I've only been able to upload documents from a source directory in the server, given an xml file uploaded from the client, which indicates the location of these files.
The inclution of the uploaded file to KM is not an issue, that is already solved. I'm just trying to make it usable by an administrative user that may not have access for creating folders in the portal server, unlike me.
I need help doing one of these two things:
1. creating an upload percentage status bar
or 2. accesing the client's directory to upload and insert the file into the repository one by one.
Can anyone help?
(by the way, I'm trying to to exactly what the portal epa import iview does, but with documents, so i know it's possible, i just don't know how)
