Creating structure for FIAR_C03 cube reports.

Hi,
I want to create structure for report in 0FIAR_C03 cube. of which requirement is as follows.
-          Analysis of how old AR items are in days (key date for reporting minus the net due date),
-          what the balance of the open items are (USD and local currency),
-          Reporting by the country of the end customer,
-          GL restriction. We only want AR trade items, not intercompany.
-          Drilldown to FI document number and line number.

Try to create custom t-code for KE30report using transaction with Variant.
go to t-code SHD0 and create a transaction variant for the t-code KE30..
and next go to se93> select transaction with Variant> enter transaction and transaction variant and
-->save and activate..

Creating Structure for reports

Dear Friends,
I am working on a forecast report. I do have a selection for Data entrry month and the report needs to show the forecast of next 12 months (0calmonth) starting from data entry month. I know this can be done using a structure, but dont have any idea how to create and assign one. Could anyone help me for the same?
Data entry month have similar characteristics as 0CALMONTH

HI,
If Data entry month is similar to 0calmonth, check if you can find the variable that is used for data entry month under calmonth.
1.If yes then in the filter section of the query add a interval restriction with this data entry month variable to data entry month variable + 11 for the info object 0calmonth.
Then add this 0calmonth under the column section above the Keyfigure.
2.If the the data entry month is not present under calmonth then create a customer exit variable for calmonth and in the customer exit read the data entry month value. Then use this new calmonth variable instead of data entry month variable and follow step 1.

Sorry for asking, but have you ever worked with Oracle Reports before? What you are describing is exactly what Report Builders does: you create a query to retrieve data from the database, and in the layout editor you create a page layout for this data.

Purpose

Using Voyager for BW cube reporting

Hi folks,
Am trying to use Voyager for reporting off a BW multicube. This is the first time am trying this tool out. Can't seem to find anything for Navigation attributes in the data panel when trying to create new queries. The same also applies for the display attributes attached to the Infoobjects, in that they do not appear on the Voyager side. How can this be handled at all? Or is that a known limitation?
On another front, are there any ways to create restricted key figure type functionality in Voyager? How can that be approached?

Okay, first of all, i was able to create queries so there is definitely more to that then. I could not see any BW queries for the multicube in the Voyager .. are there any special settings that would show those queries?
Modifying queries - i could do that as well but then this is only applicable to the ones i created in the Voyager workspace. I am guessing you were referring to the BW queries in your note.
Okay, so for the RKFs, are there any other ways to overcome that limitation such as if my column spread to be something on these lines. Column 1 - Actual version for Previous year Sales , Column 2-Actual version for current year Sales and so on...

I am creating FM for the std report RM07DOCS. so for that i have written this following code

While execution time of this FM when pass both MATNR,WERKS it was giving me the output...But my problem is when is pass only MATNR that time i am not getting output...
Actually my requirement is to get the final output table from RM07DOCS and from this need to fill my it_output tab of FM....and need to use this in Portal display...this thing i can do..But SUBMIT is not working fine for me..

is WERKS optional in ur function module ??

You can create a structure for Characteristics but u cant use them directly.
right click ->create structure. select the structure and select new selection then choose ur char ...Finally u have to use cell references to get the relation between KFs and this structure..

Is this the same question as before? If so, then it sounds to me as if you have created a structure in your rows, but dragged and dropped a characteristic under the structure and therefore the structure remains empty. Right-click on your structure and choose 'New Selection' or 'New Formula' and enter the elements of your structure in there. You need to choose 'New Selection' to add certain characteristics and 'New Formula' to create a calculation eg. Variance.
By dragging and dropping a characteristic under your structure, this will sit outwith your structure.

Variant for a Web Report

I was wondering if there was a way of creating a variant for a web report, the way we can create one for a BEx report. I would like to be able to store the variable values in a variant and then select one of the avaialable ones.

The save as view functionality does exist in BW 3.x. The only difference is that it is not available as a web item. There is a template named 0publishing_template. This has the save view option available. The other way is directly from the Web Application Designer. Go to Tools --> View Definition --> Select either based on a query or based on another query view. Once this is done you can either create another web template with the view as your dataprovider or you can create a hyperlink in the role menu and use a URL like this:
http://servername/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=0query_template&data_provider_id=technical name view.
One thing to note is that views will save the variable entries. You can add VARIABLE_SCREEN="X" to force the display of the variable screen. To change the values in the variable screen add VARIABLES_CLEAR="X".

MVVM Structure for app

I'm starting with MVVM patter for my app. I would like to learn this by re-creating my old app (vb.net winforms). I know that I need model, viewmodel and view and I understand what for. I'm trying to create a mvvm structure for my app and I'm lost a little
bit. My app has few levels - User - Admin - FPOC (first point of contact). User is able to save records to the database and retrieve it, Admin is able to review all the records and FPOC is able to review and change all of them. What I would like to understand
here is - should I create for e.g. Class Library for each profile and create model and viemodel there and call it from main view or should I create a folders and prepare classes for each profile in one project? All profiles are using SQL database connection
to obtain datab from the tables.
There are many examples but, most of them are based only on Person/Customer and I have no idea how could I create structure for my application.

MVVM is a UI desing pattern and it should not affect the structure of your domain or business objects in any way. All domain/business logic belongs to the model.
The logic of saving and retrieving data should be encapsulated in a data access library (class library) and should not have any dependencies whatsoever upon any view model or view.

The model and view model classes generally don't belong in the same class library. A model class shouldn't know anything about a view model. You could define your model classes in a separate class library and then add a reference to this class library from
the project in which you define the view model classes. Keep your data access logic in the model project, or better yet in a DAL (data access library) that may be referenced from the model library.

How to create @prompt filter at universe level for my Webi reports

Dear all,
I am using BO XI 3.1 SP3 with SAP BW 7.0.
I have created an open[big] query based on a multiprovider for my OLAP universe.
OBJECTIVE: to create LOV prompts for Calender year, for my webi reports, which takes 2010 as input then offsets the input year and then shows Gross sales for the prompt year [2010], 2009 & 2008.
ISSUE: if 2010 is selected in webi prompt filter, then it doesn't display any data for any other year, lets say gross sales for 2009.
ALTERNATIVE: i tried to create a prompt filter in the universe with this syntax,
<FILTER KEY="@Select(Calendar year\Calendar year).[TECH_NAME]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="InList"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Enter year','N',,Mono,Free,Not_Persistent)"/></CONDITION></FILTER>
it worked fine. but i also want to create a measure or dimension which subtracts 1 from the above filter and return a result with a previous year.
e.g
PROMPT: 2010
PROMPT-1: 2009
Universe structure
[TIME]                         class
[Calender year]        class
     [Calender year]     dimension ( type:string)
Please guide me with correct procedure and syntax.

I think you should just prompt for year and capture and use the selection at the webi report level.
say you have calendar year(convert it into numeric) prompt at webi level. say user selects 2010 capture it in a variable var1:userresponse('enter year'). then create a variABLE (var2) with formula :
if(isPromptAnswered('enter year')='yes';([year] where year inlist(var1;var1-1;var1-2);null)
build your report with var2 and gross income

HI ,
An index is a copy of a database table that is reduced to certain fields. This copy is always in sorted form. Sorting provides faster access to the data records of the table, for example, when using a binary search. A table has a primary index and a secondary index. The primary index consists of the key fields of the table and is automatically created in the database along with the table. You can also create further indexes on a table in the Java Dictionary. These are called secondary indexes. This is necessary if the table is frequently accessed in a way that does not take advantage of the primary index. Different indexes for the same table are distinguished from one another by a separate index name. The index name must be unique. Whether or not an index is used to access a particular table, is decided by the database system optimizer. This means that an index might improve performance only with certain database systems. You specify if the index should be used on certain database systems in the index definition. Indexes for a table are created when the table is created (provided that the table is not excluded for the database system in the index definition). If the index fields represent the primary keys of the table, that is, if they already uniquely identify each record of the table, the index is referred to as an unique index.
they are created on DSO and cube for the performance purpose ..and reports created on them wil be also more efficent ..
