Creating User Defined Static HTML Page

Hi Everybody
For my new application, I have to write a program where user can create static html page with text content and image like MSN Groups
Add a new page.
I need some guidelines on how to do this.
Any help will be much appreciated

Creation of static pages / or pages with static content- the site administrator must be able to create
static html pages with content. And the links to these pages must be available to all the visitors of
the site as sub links to useful information( the add page and manage page tools
in MSN groups is aimed )

Hi Mani,
If you copy a template in ApEx, you have your own version of that template.
If you then alter the code in your version of the template, you have your own custom version.
If you don't understand the underlying HTML, you are going to struggle.

Create a static HTML page from a CFM page

How do I take the results of a dynamic CFM page and write it
to a static HTML page.

You can also use the CF administrator.
Schedule the task. (Or just create the task to be hit by a
call from a page.) When you set up the "task" Click Publish Save
output to a file
and assign the path you want it to write to. I do this for
high volume front pages and have them created every few minutes to
reduce the load on the sql and cf servers..

TREX Search : static HTML pages in KM with links to other intranet websites

we have some static HTML pages stored in KM. Besides text, these pages contain links ot other intranet websites, pdf or word documents.
I have defined an index, according to <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/73/66c090acf611d5993700508b6b8b11/frameset.htm">creating an index</a>
Following parameters have been added :
IndexInternalLinks = true
indexContentOfExternalLink = true
showWithoutDatasource = true
Already had a look at <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/46/5d5040b48a6913e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Crawlers and Crawler Parameters</a>, tried by creating a new crawler profile and setting
Maximum Depth = 3 (we want to search three levels deep)
There is also <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/46/5d5040b48a6913e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Resource Filters</a>
The html pages itself are included in the index, but the content of the external links is not included.
Would this be possible? We don't want to define an <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/73/66c090acf611d5993700508b6b8b11/frameset.htm">HTTP System</a> in the system landscape, as we don't need to index the whole external website and some parts of it are obsolete - we only want following the links and included the external content in the index.
Portal version is NW2004S SP10.

If you don't want to create a HTTP system then you can create a simple web repository.

User Defined Default Starting Page

Hopefully an easy question...what table holds the user defined default starting page? Specifically in 11g.

Tried to set default dashboard for all the users.
1. Created a session init block
2. Used data source as select '/shared/SH Test/_portal/Test1' from dual
3. Assigned this value to PORTALPATH session variable
4. In Presentation services > Administration > My account > Default dashboard should be set to 'default'. Then only the dashboard specified in init block will be displayed otherwise My account will override the init block.
5. Save the changes made to rpd.
5. Logout and relogin to see if it is working fine. it is working perfectly fine.
For details please refer the GSC replication document. But it is for all the users.
if customer would like to have user/group based home page.
1. They may need to have 2 separate tables.
i. Group_path_tab with 2 columns. Group_id, portal_path
Have group wise portal path for all the groups
ii. User-group map table
Group_id, Group_name, user_id
User should be part of some group.
2. Then in the init block write the sql should be something like this
select A.portal_path from Group_path_tab A, User_group_map B
where B.user_id = :USER
and B.Group_id = A.Group_id
SO based on USER session variable, it will try to identify the group and then the portal_path.
Finally assign this value to PORTALPATH session variable.

10g EM Creating User-Defined Metrics

I am trying to create some user-defined metrics to get a threshold for our ASM disk group used space percentage, archiving used space percentage, and so on.
I have read the article 'System Monitoring Using Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 2' on link of http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe10gemgc/monitoring/monitoring.html. It has a screen shot for Related Link of User-Defined Metrics, but I don't have it on my 10g EM (which is version 10.2.0.2).
I would like to know if any one have any idea telling where I can find it?

You create User Defined Metrics (UDM) by selecting the User Defined Metrics link on the Database page. The type of UDM you create will dpend on what result you are expecting. For instnace, you want to be alerted when the balance on an account falls below zero (overdraft). So you can use an SQL query that returns a number which is checked against the threshold you set.

How to develope a par file with a static html pages in NWDS

what is the procedure to put static html pages as iviews by using programming.
In my project hierarchy where should i keep the html file, and what component should be generated? to generate a par file.
using that par i'll generate a iview and i will link to my page.
but i need a procedure to generate a portal component of this type.
if any body is having the procedure of this, or any online help documentation link u have please forward to me.

Hi,
Check whether KM is installed in your server. If yes then you can view it under Content Administration>> KM content(like the Portal Content).
In that you can see the Root folder>>documents>>Public Documents. If you wish you can create your own folder or can just upload the file inside that folder.
1. to create a folder go to Folder >> new folder...
2. to upload the file click Folder>>New>>upload.. then you can browse to the local system and from there you can upload file.
The path that you have to give in the Iview shloud be like
\documents\Public Documents\<your foldername>\filename.

What the best way to create User defined table with ADDON purpose

Hi folks, how are you ?
I´m beginner in development to business one, and I m studying to develop ISV addons.
But, during my exercises and analisys, I learned that have two ways to create tables and fields in business one. One way is throght by wizard in business one using Tools Menu > Configuration Tools > User Defined Tables >
Obs: I ´m using Business One Patch Level 9.
Other way, is create the tables and fields using DI API
But, my question is. When I develop one addon, or one UDO form that uses one set of user defined tables or used defined fields that where created by the first way (by wizard in B1), how I deploy this in other business one installation ? The package process will ensure the creation of this tables in another enviroment or I must implement the creation of user defined tables using DI API so that this code is called during the installation?
If in cases of addon develop I must use DI API to create user defined tables, How can I use my classes with this responsibility in package process ?

Hi Renan,
You just need to put your logic in to the startup of your application, after you've established your connection to the UI API and DI API. All this will be triggered in the constructor of your main class.

Is it possible to create user defined control in labview

in .net we can create user defined contol in which i can put more then one control and,, can use it as single control when needed,, but,, how this possible in labview,,
actually in my program i have a tab control and,, in that tab control there are 8 pages,, now there are 5 different kind option selection for each page lets say "a" "b" "c" "d" "e",,,,,.,. so,, when i select "a" configuration for tabpage 1 should show.. "a"(control collection) on tabpage1....and,, same should b possible for all 8 pages............................. this can possible if its possible to create user defined contorl in labview
while in .net its very easy task i m confused here,..,.
i put these controls in another 5 different VI,,,, and tried to call in subpanel but,, i dont find the solution,,,

I'm not really sure of what you need but you CAN customize you control in LabVIEW, it is not hard, you just have to know how it works
Sometimes being good at another programation language confuse you more than it helps because you try to do as you are used to... the difficulty it to "translate" functions from a language to another.
I do know how frustrating it can be when you think "Damned, it would take me only 5 minutes to do that with language a and after 10 hours with language b it is still not working "
You have to get in LabVIEW way of thinking, I wish you good luck !

The customer is not able to create a user defined metrics for SQL Server target.
This is very important for him to use this product.
He is asking how to create user defined metrics?
I sent him Note 304952.1 How to Create a User-Defined SQL Metric in EM 10g Grid Control
But it would work for an Oracle DB, but his target is SQL Server DB

I am not sure if I am correct, but for reasons best known to them, Oracle replaced rather than add.
Even if you want to do a smart search using the part# (e.g B16242-03) in oracle.com, you get a whole list of results, but when you click on them, you get http://www.oracle.com/errors/404.html

I try to create the sample aggregate function "SecondMax" from 9i developer guide(append at the end of this post).
It's work to create object type and the type body, but
there is error when I create the aggregate function..

This could be a x64/x86 problem. Try following this thread

Publish no static html page with Web services

I would like to publish no static html page using Web services. I can't attach this html page as static because I need to change it dynamically from another vi. So, client can read this page by browser with refresh 2 sec.

I think It is not possible to create a dynamic HTML page, at the most you could edit your page HTML and publish it again with the same URL
