Creating webpage with video

ive not really had any experience with creating web pages or using my webspace before and just used iweb to creat a simple page with just a title and a QT movie (saved as a 10minute iphone m4v file) to show to a few friends but nothing more...
I then used cyberduck to upload it...
BUT then what? How do i know what the web address is to tell people to go to? I think I found it but just by guess work.. is it listed somewhere on iweb or on cyberduck? Also, when I now look at the video, it takes a long time to load but seems to work okay eventaully on safari.... but just brings up the 'rainbow wheel' on firefox and then i eventually have to force quit!
Can anyone help me make it load quicker and stop crashing?? I'm assuming I need to upload a smaller file but am not sure how to save it to make it smaller yet not noticably worse quality!

Well, where are you uploading it to? What's the domain name that you linked to your web space? For example, http://yourdomainname.com. That's something that you would have had to register - iWeb doesn't do anything like that for you.
Iincidentally, iWeb comes with FTP built in, so you really don't need Cyberduck at all to publish the site. In iWeb, click on the "Site" button on the top left of your page list to get to the Publishing settings.
"Publish to" will be set to "MobileMe" if you use Apple's hosting service. It should be set to "FTP" if you have hosting elsewhere (eg, Godaddy or Network Solutions), and then you would fill in your FTP server settings. Your hosting company can tell you what they are.

Welcome to the 'wonderful' world of HTML5 e-learning.
In my view, from the issues I am seeing everywhere, HTML5 output from rapid e-learning tools such as Captivate is not ready for the kind of mobile device e-learning you want to develop.
Sorry to be pessimistic, but you may need to consider going back to the drawing board and coding it from the ground up.

Yosemite: Input freezes when loading webpage with video (flash?)

Just updated to Yosemite, and its impressive. But im having a severe issue where input (mouse and keyboard) freezes for at least 5 seconds whenever I load a webpage in Safari with a video on it. Not sure if its just flash or any video. This did not happen before upgrade.
Im on a late 2013 Macbook pro Retina 13" with Yosemite 10.10
Any suggestions or similar experiences?

Try uninstalling Adobe Flash Player, and determine if the web page containing the video you are using really requires it. Most don't.
If, after uninstalling Flash Player you determine you really require it, install it again. That alone may fix the problem.

You can crop still images and video in your projects to get a close-up of a subject of interest or to eliminate undesirable parts.
Cropping is also useful if you have photos or video clips that don’t fit within your project’s aspect ratio. In such a case, you can crop them so that they fit.

Creating menu with video and after few seconds fade-in of menutext

I'd like to make a dvd , showing part of some footage after inserting the dvd automatilcally, and after a couple of seconds i'd like to fade in the menu text, with a choice of diferent titles, which you can choose from... i wasn't able to find how to do this in the manual... please help..

Hi - welcome to the discussions.
You can do this in several ways. You could, for example, set the opening animation into a track and set the end jump action for the track to go on to a menu with the buttons. However, there would appear to be a pause and the buttons wouldn't 'fade' in.
What I would do is create the footage for the animated intro in FCP or Motion and add on to the end of it a still portion of about 30 seconds or more which has the text in place. Make the text fade in as you want it.
I would then take a still of that last part of the footage into Photoshop and use it as a background. Add a layer and on that add on the shapes you want to appear if a button is selected. Hide the background and you should be left with a mostly white image with shapes on it - convert it to grayscale and export that image (without the background) as a .pict file.
Bring both the footage and the .pict file into DVDSP and add the background to a menu. Then add the .pict as an overlay. You can now use the loop point to set where the buttons become active - adjust the middle control to a point just after where the text becomes static.
You then treat it as any other menu - draw out the button rectangles, assign targets and navigation between buttons.
The effect is that your animated introduction plays and the text fades in (as part of the background footage). The buttons become active as soon as the loop point marker is reached, and stay active until the end of the menu. When it loops back there will be a slight flicker, but the buttons will then remain active again.

Creating WebPage with Iweb

So i purchased the new software. Im trying to create a 1 page information type page for my photo studio. No ecommerce or anything, just some general information with maybe a photo or two.
It doesnt appear that there are any templates that are business oriented, just kinda your blog or personal page.
Am i not looking in the right place or are there no business page type templates? IF not, are there in Iwork or anything?
I have not idea how to create web pages so im looking for a template.

I would suggest using a bland template, such as the white or black one, and start with the welcome page. You can delete, edit, move or add different things anywhere you want just by clicking and dragging. That's the best way I've been able to find to make business-looking templates.

I want to create an external video widget with iAd. I followed the steps and copied the Url and paste it in the Video pop-up menu in the Properties section of the inspector. When i select 'preview' the video doesn't play and the Url that i pasted is gone.

May have something to do with whether or not the URL can be reached while building your widget. I've got a video on the web. When I enter the URL into the field for the video object and click to another field, the URL is replaced with some text indicating that it is accessing the video then updates itself to displaying just the name of the video file.
It shows just fine in preview and I can see the full path to the video when I export the widget so it should work for you.
Is the video accessible from your Mac while you're laying out your widget?

Same thing for a movie file.. If you want to play back the movie via a DVD and a DVD player you must create a Movie DVD and not just burn files to a data DVD... as Data DVDs are just storage devices for files and therefore will only work with computers...
Movie DVDs are special formats that include things like menus and special file formats.. so they can playback via a DVD Player...
You will need a 3rd party DVD Burning app like Toast which is what i actually use.... or the more popular DVD Creator app...to create and then burn a Movie DVD that will playback on a DVD Player....

Thanks for your suggestions. I checked to see if the options you suggested were set incorrectly but they were set to sync all. This led me to think the problem was actually in the iphone. I re-initialized the iphone and did not allow the system to restore any of the previous settings. In essence, I forced the phone to reset to factory settings. Then my video podcasts started syncing. All is well now. I did notice that I had seven podcasts selected that were "HD" presentations, and as such, are not compatible with the iphone. I don't know if this had anything to do with my earlier situation, but now I'm getting the video podcasts automatically. I'm happy. It wasn't much fun forcing the iphone to forget all of my preferences and I'm still customizing the phone now several days later. I think I have everything working and back to normal except I haven't identified any of my email accounts as of yet. Thanks for your help.

How do create a music video with iMovies 09

Dear Apple iMovie Form Participants,
I'd like to use iMovie to create a music video. My son and I already recorded him playing drums and singing, and me playing bass and singing into an Event in iMovies. I have saved all the video clips from this session in iMovie. I also exported the audio, so that I can import it into GarageBand, and then start Play on GarageBand, which will play through the monitor speakers in the studio, so that if I have iMovie set up beforehand, my son and I can film ourselves playing guitar and electric violin in synchronization with the drum and bass tracks that we recorded before. We would then end up with video clips that show us playing guitar and violin accompanied by the sounds of drums and bass. How do we then use the Project editor to show clips of the drum and bass + vocals playing in synchronization with the music, alternating with the clips of guitar and violin?

Your best bet:
Finish the entire audio recording in garage band first. Give yourself a click to start off. You can record the video lip-sync with your instruments later. Burn it to a cd and play it from a cd player so your computer can be dedicated to recording the video.
Imovie 09 does not have true multi-camera editing capabilities like Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro, but you can get it done with a little extra patience.
Decide which video will be the main one. Shoot that one first. Put it into your project. Bring your audio from garage band back in and sync it.
Record your second, third, and fourth video shots...
Go to the iMovie>menu>preferences>general and make sure "show advanced tools is checked.
You will be using the cuttaway to put sections of your second video ontop of the main one. With your first video already in your project window, drag a few seconds of the second on top of it. A black menu will appear and select "cuttaway". It will essentially paste your second video on top of the first. Sync it by dragging back and forth. Unfortunately, with iMovie, you have to sync it by hand each time you paste a cuttaway video on top of the main one. The main one sync stays fine.
You can also choose "picture in picture" and see both videos at once.
Repeat with the third, fourth, or whatever video.
Practice so you understand the editing workflow before you spend all day trying to record your actual video. It takes someone who is patient and clever, but it will work!
Here is an example, I couldn't sync the close up shots at all (they were from a different piece), but most people can't tell. The camera panning is all done by using the "ken burns effect":

I'm trying to create a video for an assignment and i want it to start off with someone dreaming and have the thought bubble pop up with their dream then have it fade into the dream video.
