  • How do I generate an array of random numbers that relate to an output wave that falls within a certain frequency range?

    I have been creating random numbers that I'm using within a system, the system is working fine, but now I have realised that the random numbers must be outputted to speakers in such a way as to filter out all but a low frequency range.
    I was thinking about generating a dither signal with a bandpass filter, but could not get it to give me out a full array of 250 values which I could then manipulate.
    The sampling frequency of the output is 200Hz and the 250 data points must fall within the 0-100Hz range.
    Another course of action I am considering is to use an FFT and an inverse FFT to get the data that I'm looking for, but I'm fair
    ly inexperienced with using labVIEW and can't quite get it to work.
    Thanks for the help,
    Hank.

    As you may already know, in the Functions palette/Analysis VIs/Filters VIs are VIs for filtering. There are also some examples for using these filters under Examples/Analysis/fltrxmpl. You may find some of these are related to your situation, especially for filtering out the higher values.
    An option is to simply output the random values to a Comparison/"less than or equal" function, where only values <= to 100 would be sent to an array which is in a For loop. Use the iteration counter of the For loop to count up to 250, at which time you would pass the whole array to your next node. This would let you have 250 values between 0 and 100 for your final array.
    Good luck.

  • How to generate random numbers that doesnt contain characters?

    How do we generate random numbers in ESB ROuting Service/ XSL transformation that does not contain characters. I have been using "orcl:generate-guid()" , but it contains some characters, so, I substring it to get only numbers. I dont want to take this risk and in future, my substring itself may contain characters.
    Has anybdy tried this before?
    Thanks,

    If the goal is to have a pseudo random number then consider using the translate function to replace the occurances of the A - E characters with another digit. For example:
    translate(orcl:generate-guid(),'0123456789ABCDEF','0123456789123456')
    This will produce a 1 for A, 2 for B, etc. While not a valid hex to decimal conversion of the GUID value, it does get around the hex issue and might be sufficient for your purposes.
    I would perform a large sample test to see just how unique the values end up being.
    As for why hex is used, well GUID's are most commonly written in text as a sequence of hexadecimal digits such as: 3F2504E0-4F89-11D3-9A0C-0305E82C3301. i.e. 128 bits represented in 32 characters formatted into 5 sections.
    Hope this helps,
    Peter

  • How do I create a formula in Numbers that will only sum a set number of entries?

    I'm trying to create a spreadsheet that will keep track of my expenses. In Table 1, I have only the totals for each spending category. All the other tables represent each of the spending categories, which contain all the transaction entries. In Table 1, I created a drop down menu with the following five options:
    Last 30 Days
    Last 365 Days
    This Month
    Last Month
    All Time
    The numerical entries in Table 1 correspond exactly to the entries of the respective footer rows. At the moment, the sum in each of the footer rows adds up all the transaction entries, but I want to be able to add up only the entries that satisfy the selected drop-down menu option.
    So how can I create a conditional formula in each of the footer rows that will allow me to do this?

    Hi tsp,
    compare each date entry with today's date
    The TODAY function will automatically update as your time zone crosses midnight.
    Here is a single-cell table to use as a reference (or you could place this somewhere in a larger table)
    =TODAY()
    Calculating days until a task must be done
    C2 (and Fill Down)
    =DATEDIF(Today::A$1,B2,"D")
    But only if your dog can wait 3 days for a walk .

  • Need help Creating a translation pattern that adds dial out digits to incoming calls

    I came across an article yesterday and it showed the steps how to fix Missed Call/Received Call numbers so that you can dial them from the menu correctly (auto-add a 9, etc.)?
    I tried it this morning and came up with this translation pattern:
    voice translation-rule 6
    rule 1 /^201\(.*\)/ /8\1/
    rule 2 /\(..........\)/ /81\1/
    voice translation-profile filter_Incoming
    translate calling 6
    This translation pattern rule 1 adds the dial out character 8 and strips 201 for local calls. Rule 2 adds dial out character 8 and adds 1 for long distance.  The purpose of this translation rule is when the ephone receives the phone call the characters 8 and 1 are added so when you quickly need to redial you do not have to edit the number and add 8 for each call.
    I tested the translation-rule:
    ROUTER-2911#test voice translation-rule 6 9082121231
    Matched with rule 2

    Hi patldmart012,
    The dial-peer 9 that you have attached will not be affected by following config
    voice translation-rule 6
    rule 1 /^201\(.*\)/ /8\1/
    rule 2 /\(..........\)/ /81\1/
    voice translation-profile filter_Incoming
    translate calling 6
    Because you have not applied the translation profile "filter_incoming" on the dial-peer.
    Could you please provide the exact call flow?
    Along with that, If you are facing issue with calls on SIP Trunk, please collect following debugs in a logging buffer and attach the file. I will analyse it and will get back to you.
    debug voip ccapi inout
    debug ccsip message
    debug voice translation
    Debug h225 asn1 (If H323 involved)
    Debug h245 asn1 (If H323 involved)
    Debug MGCP Packets (If MGCP involved)
    Also provide the running config of the GW.
    These are verbose debugs, so please collect them in the following manner:
    Router(config)# service sequence

  • Integration - Windows Server 2003/2008R2: Creating a login script that attaches programs to a certain user group. Upgrading to Windows 7/8

    We are currently running a windows server 2003 environment with a 2003 server being the DC. We have a couple of 2008 r2 servers that are member servers.
    OK...
    Our users are primarily operating off of windows xp clients/workstations in which they use RDP to connect to the newer member servers that are windows 2008. With their base profile in xp I am using roaming profiles via server 2003. I am looking to begin
    upgrading all of the workstations to all-in-one windows7/8 boxes partially because of cosmetic reasons(#weird) and partially because we will eventually begin using the camera options that are in the all-in-one's.
    Also..I must do this one at a time as we don't have the money to do a complete overhaul of all client workstations..If that was the case, I could just redo the network and make those members servers the DC and backup DC as well as add a virtual server
    in which everyone can access those legacy programs that are still needed...
    As you guys know windows 7/8 boxes will not work with server 2003 and roaming profiles. The reason we don't completely upgrade to 2008 r2 environment is because we are still holding on to a legacy program that requires server 2003 and these programs are
    vital to our operation.
    So..broken down even further...
    A: User is part of a 'LocalAdmins' group that makes them automatically a local admin upon any system within our domain.
    B: User  logs in to windows xp with credentials in which a tailored made per user roaming profile comes up from server 2003
    C: User then logs into one of the two terminal servers via RDP with same credentials and accesses new primary application. To access the legacy applications, they merely minimize their RDP session to get back to the windows xp session.
    Ultimately..
    1. I'd like to begin replacing option B: with windows 7/8 all-in-ones and and have the RDP saved sessions,that talk to the 2008 member servers, as well as, a few vital ie shortcuts automatically come to all users that are apart of that "LocalAdmins
    group period.
    2. Setup 1 server 2003 box that runs that legacy program and allow everyone access via a Virtual Environment..
    3. If they log into a windows xp box, or a windows 7/8 box, I want them to have access to the same icons.
    I guess this is a lot to digest, but my question is, what script could I make that would essentially allow uniformity for both my xp workstations and newly added windows 7/8 boxes? What script could I create that would,I guess reside on server 2003, that
    brings all the neccessary icons to the users that are apart of that "LocalAdmins" group despite having a windows xp, 7, or 8 workstation?

    " I don't see what the issue is because a logon script will still be managed by Group Policy and will have to be applied using GP rules.  In the end you still have to write the script."
    You basically contradicted the smug part of your rant and multiple answers with this statement!!! You just recognized that some sort of script would be necessary if I chose to use it via group policy.
    But according to you..
    "It is not and has never been done via a script."
    Clearly it has a section per user for a "profile path" and a "logon SCRIPT". Which warrants my creation of this post since I have currentely implemented
    roaming profiles. That is how I am manipulating what users can have on their desktop because of course, we have different users that have different needs. But out of all the users, there are programs that need to be laced and seen upon immediate login.I
    will consult other people as this is only preliminary planning but about half of your statements are completely unwarranted and UNNECESSARY!
    This statement also proves your additional inaccuracies...
    "All of the profile things are handled by Windows and have nothing to do with scripts.  You define all of that in Group Policy."
    That's just silly talk. I told you in my initial break down of my scenario in an entirety that I am using "tailored made per user roaming profiles" to control desktop environments not group policies in this case. But you just made an absolute statement in
    saying "You define all of that in Group policy" which is completely wrong...
    Do me a favor, please don't respond to this post anymore. I'd love to see if any other partner, staff or whatever mind responding. Thank you for your help anyway. I will use what is useful in your post and discard the rest.
    Thanks

  • Stop random numbers repeating HELP!!

    i have been trying to create ten random numbers between 0-99 without them repeating and put them into an object array. this is the code i have been trying but it doesn't seem to work.

                   if ( ( data[a] ) == random )
                   marker = marker + 1;
                   if ( marker == 0 )

  • Random Numbers not playing fair!

    Hi All.
    Can anyone explain why I keep getting the same number out of the Random class? Each time I run my program, I get a different number, but it then repeats that same 'random' number. I've tried using the Math.random and that didn't seem to work either.
    Thanks
    Dr Nick

    This "repeating the same number" problem of Random is
    usually because it's instantiated many times in a
    loop. Random takes its seed from the system clock with
    a resolution of 1 millisecond. If random is
    instantiated many times during 1 millisecond it will
    use the same seed and thus deliver the same random
    numbers.That's all true, but he said he experienced this with java.lang.Math.random() which reuses the same random number generator. Here's the source for it:
        public static double random() {
            if (randomNumberGenerator == null) initRNG();
            return randomNumberGenerator.nextDouble();
        }"randomNumberGenerator" is static.

  • I need to create a button that add "1" to a number box in "numbers" program

    hi
    I making an inventory list that often being change.
    I want to create a button that "add 1" and a button that "reduce 1" so i can adjust it faster
    how can i do it ?
    thanks

    Hi Yaniv,
    With a single Stepper, I can't see how you can make it refer to different cells in your *locked* inventory.
    Maybe this will work. Old Inventory (2012), then a mirror table with Steppers for every cell, then New Inventory (2013) with formulas to add or subtract Stepper values. Old and New inventories are locked. Stepper Table is not locked. That is where you enter the changes.
    Formula in B2 of the 2013 Inventory is
    =Inventory 30 June 2012 :: B2+Add or subtract :: B2
    Where the Stepper Table is called "Add or Subtract".
    Fill Down and Right.

    since i do not have a transducer now, i am currently generating an array of 30 random numbers. after every 5 readings a warning should be given to the user that 5 readngs are complete. this cycle should repeat. the array size is 30.
    please help me out,  waiting for reply asap.
    once i have the transducer, i will be taking 30 analog samples and then after every 5 smaples that wraning will be displaye din a new VI
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Use a while loop with a time delay representing your sampling period.
    Use the count terminal to check if equals 4, so 4th iteration=5th sample.
    Use a case structure. The true case will only be executed on the 4th iteration.
    In the true case place a subVI  with your desired message in the front panel. Go to the VI properties window and set "open front panel when called".
    The closing condition of the warnign is not giving in your description.
    Consider that rather than usign a subvi for this, you could use the "One/Two/Three button dialog" or "display message" vis at the "dialog and user interface" pallete.
    Please give it a try and send your own VI. Do not expect us to provide a working solution.

    I am looking to create an app that add widgets to iphone, is it ok with apple and what shall I do?

    In iOS, those would have to be standalone apps due to the sandboxed design of iOS and its use of memory and resources.  There is already an abundance of clock, weather and calendar apps in the app store.  You can certainly make some of your own, but just realize yours would have to offer something really different or unique to stand out in the crowd of similar apps.

  • How do I create a timesheet on numbers that will give me a weekly total as well as an hourly total?

    I am currently enrolled in an internship, and I need to sumbit an timesheet every week, as well as one at the end of my internship showing the overall hours that I worked. How do I create a Time sheet that will show my start time, end time, total hours for the day, total hours for the week, and total overall hours. If possible can someone please show me step by step how to do this or give me a template I can go off of.

    Hi j,
    Take a look at the Employee Schedule template in the business section of the Template Chooser.
    With a few modifications, it should do what you need.
    Start by renaming the main table to reflect the new focus—you—then replace the names in row 1 with the Sunday dates of the weeks being recorded. Each column will then report your total house for one week (in row 25). You can use SUM() to total these in a separate cell or on a separate tabel.
    One caution:
    The values in the pop-up menus, like those in all cells showing either Date or Time values contain both a Date part and a Time part. Where only the Time part has been entered, the Date part is the Date on which the entry was created. For the pop-ups on this table, that was July 15, 2008, so the full value in cell C7 (John's first "In" time) is July 15, 2008 08:00:00. That full value is what's used in the calculation in C9.
    If you edit the pop-up menu lists, there are two things to be aware of:
    The "blank" item in the menus enters an empty string into its cell, not a true blank. You, as a user, cannot create an 'empty string' item in a popup menu. The closest you can come is an entry with a single space. If you edit the "blank" item, you will also need to edit the formulas in the hours rows to detect a space ( " " ) rather than an empty string ( "" ).
    If you add or change any 'time' items in the pop-ups, the new (or changed) items will contain 'today's' date as part of the value. To avoid unexpected results from calculations, you'll need to edit ALL or the 'time' items if you choose to edit or add one.
    Take a look at the template, then bring back any questions that arise.

    Barry

  • Create Random Numbers using OLE Randomize and RND

    Hi,

  • Create a congruential random numbers

    I want to create a congruential random numbers generator in java:
    Below is the formula for it.
    ri+1=(a*ri+b) mod M .
    How can I use Math class for this?

    Your guess w.r.t. a and b being constants is right. An ordinary multiple congruence random number
    generator simply looks as you described:
    x[n+1]= (a*x[n]+b)%M
    But there's a bit more to it: a and b have to be relatively prime, i.e. gcd(a, b) == 1 and the same counts
    for both a and b w.r.t. M, i.e. gcd(a, M) == 1 and gcd(b, M) == 1. Only then the 'cycle length' of your
    generator will be maximal. In practice M is a power of two (2^32 comes to mind). Here's some code:public class MGRNG {
       private int a, b, M;
       private int seed;
       // ctors
       MGRNG(int a, int b, int M) { this(a, b, M, 1); }
       MGRNG(int a, int b, int M, int seed) {
          this.a= a;
          this.b= b;
          this.M= M;
          this.seed= seed;
       // next pseudo random number
       public int next() {
          seed= (a*seed+b)%M;
          return seed;
    } kind regards,
