Hi...This is pushkar and from the last few days I was trying to create a
collection of 64bit machines which has 32Bit Office installed in sccm2007, But am not able to create such collection.
Could somebody please help me with this issue.

I am simply trying to create a query of systems that have a specific piece of software installed. All the resources that I have been reading are dealing with SCCM and not SCE 2010. The databases that they are referring to in the query are not

Collection query for specific SCCM client version - Parameters?

Good morning,
I need to upgrade my older clients as I recently upgraded SCCM to SP2. I can't seem to find the parameters in query builder to populate a collection with a specific SCCM client version. Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction? I can't find anything using "The Google". You'd think lots of people would want this that there'd be a default query in SCCM already. Thanks.

is there a way to create a collection based on the "previous import"? that would make it easy to mobile sync the last import to my ipad, and do further picking/rejecting while away from my laptop.

well, yes, of course i could do it that way. i guess i wasn't specific enough. is there a way to create a smart collection, with the photos in the "previous import" as members of the smart collection. earlier i mentioned about using this smart collection to mobile sync with my ipad, to do further flagging.
so my intention, use a smart collection to mobile sync with my ipad, and the smart collection to include the photos from my previous import.
i guess another way to ask the question, is there a way to create a smart collection, by using some rule or condition in the smart collection, to automatically include previous import photos.
the documentation says that "previous import" is a collection, even though it shows up in the catalogue side bar section. but i see no way to choose that collection when making a smart collection.

Need help creating a device collection based on members of a user collection

Hello everyone,
I am working on developing a device collection based on the membership of a user collection. The purpose of the device collection is to provide us with the capability of deploying software to users while the users are logged off their systems.
I would love to use AD security groups but unfortunately that isn't an available approach in this case. I have been experimenting with SQL queries to find the best way to obtain the results I want and the following query works like a champ:

The problem arises when I attempt this same query in SCCM 2012, I don't get any results from this query so of course it won't work to base a Device Collection from. Here is the WQL:

While your suggestion of that link was close, it still went in the direction of using security groups as the basis for device queries and that isn't the direction I am pursuing. I had a colleague look at my original query and he identified
that I had some unnecessary redundancy but that didn't resolve my SQL -> WQL inconsistency. I continued to play with the query and the following SQL also works (and actually works a bit better for my purposes)

I think I am on the verge of getting this right but it sure seems to be a challenge. Is there a "WQL Workbench" that I could use that is similar to SQL Management Studio inside of which I could test these queries rather than having to use the rather clunky

WQL query for collection based on file properties not add remove

Hi
I have an issue where a .exe file does not have the updated version number available in add remove programs. The only way I know to get the version number is to right click the file and view version there.
I need to make a collection based on the information available in properties. Is this possible? How would I write the query?

Hi,
to perform this kind of operation on a .exe file you need to configure software inventory.
Inside the properties just choose to Collect File Details and select a path to scan.

To Mickey: I got the 2 RAR files into one directory, extracted the part1.rar file, and in that new folder there is a file called start.html. I opened this, and followed the links on the right, from "Welcome" to "Getting Started". After all this I had the SAP Management Console, as well as the Database Manager applications created. You will find the specific instructions for setting up the MaxDB under the "Getting Started" link. After setting up the Database Manager you have to start it up with a user-id and password which was created during the set-up, and specifically link the database to the NSP system. I seem to remember that this didn't work at first, because the Database Manager shortcut does not run the program as an administrator. So run it as an administrator! I altered the shortcut's properties under the shortcut/advanced so it will always run the program as an administrator, and haven't had any problems - once you have done the "Add" procedure you may never need to re-visit the database manager.

Collections based on Software Update Group compliance

Hi!
Is it possible to create a collection based on software update group compliance? This is for software update groups which are
not deployed, they are just monitor groups (for example, groups for yearly or quarterly software update compliance).
I would like to create a collection that lists all devices which are non-compliant in software update groups with names like "%Client Updates" - is this possible?
The reason for this is so I can impose some stricter Compliance Settings (among some other stuff) on devices that are not compliant.
I looked around a bit, but I could not find anything that I can use. Even Google couldn't solve my question :/

Select specific version of Office

I have a script that calls a VB Macro in Excel. Of course, it doesn't work in 2008. Several users here have both Office 2004 and 2008 installed. How do I call a specific version of Excel in my "tell" statement?

You can either bring up a specific version of Excel on a specific partition of one of your hard drives, or bring up the version of Excel that's on the disk your currently booted up on, and test in your AS the version of Excel and do things based upon which version is currently up and running.

Ciscoworks and Java - requiring a specific version

Can anyone explain why Ciscoworks requires a specific version of the java plugin rather than just using it as a minimum requirement? The current version of java is 1.5.0_01 but when I access our server it complains that I'm not running 1.4.1_02. Is there anyway to stop this check happening and to force it to just use what's installed?

Why indeed. I have raised this to Cisco developers ad nauseum. They are moving to more of a pure html schema with the upcoming release of LMS. Even that, though, will still have dependency on a specific JRE (1.42_something if I recall correctly). For now, you can use the parts of LMS and RWAN that aren't java-based applets despite the suite's error warning. Using any of the java applets (CiscoView, Campus Manager, etc.) requires the exact JRE noted in the documentation (1.41_02) and no substitutes are accepted. This is hard coded in the applet and there is no reliable work around. Some have reported limited success by using the Java control panel and having multiple JREs loaded on their machine. This is a bit tricky though and may not work in all situations.
Thus the great myth of Java (write once, run anywhere) is exposed. The cynic might observe that a MS-based implementation would be prefereble. the purist would opine that a pure html W3C-compliant app would be the way to go. The realist just sighs and goes about working with what he (or she) is given.

How can you ignore one specific version of a package when upgrading?

Hi all,
Due to a rather nasty bug in mplayer, the current version in the Arch repositories is unusable for me. I am currently running the previous version without any problems, but every time I try to upgrade, pacman wants to reinstall this broken version.
I don't want to list mplayer in the IgnorePkgs option, because then I won't get any new versions. Since the bug has long been fixed, the next Arch version should work fine - it's just the current Arch version (35014) that is broken and I want to ignore.
Is there some way I can blacklist this specific version of the package, so although it won't ever be installed, any newer version will?
I tried adding "mplayer-35014" and "mplayer-35014-1" to IgnorePkgs but it didn't work.
Any suggestions?

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. I didn't actually build a package from it, because I didn't know where the problem was. So I just compiled a bunch of things the old fashioned way and ran them without installing anything until I had narrowed down the problem. But I'm sure there's an mplayer-svn in AUR I could use - good idea.

Well, I'm not quite sure how to use that classid for "static versioning". I mean, if I need to use 1.3.1_08 but not others (not even 1.3.1_07 or 1.3.1_09, but only 1.3.1_08), what classid should I use?
That page doesn't teach us what syntax we're supposed to use!
On the other hand, my webapp needs to detect what JRE is installed and would suggest what to do in case the specific version can't be found in client computer. What should I do?
Thirdly, I've noticed that the order of installing versions is important. Let's say there're two versions in a computer, V1 and V2, while what I need is V1. Depending on V1 or V2 is the final installed one, my detection might or might not work. Someone knows what to do?

You don't state which version of Keynote you're using. Keynote 3 offers an option to restart the presentation after an inactivity of x min (at least 1 min).
Look at Document inspector on the Document tab.

Function Module to get ABAP source code for a specific version

Hi all
Is there a function module that I can use to get the source code of another function module at a specific version?
For example, can I call a function module passing in "FM_NAME" and "FM_VERSION" and have it return the lines of code associated with that object?

Is there a way to hook into the code activation process? I want to be able to take a snapshot of the ABAP source code at each point when it is activated for use in another system, but need to be able to intercept this event and get the source code at that point in time.
