WQL query for collection based on file properties not add remove

Hi
I have an issue where a .exe file does not have the updated version number available in add remove programs. The only way I know to get the version number is to right click the file and view version there.
I need to make a collection based on the information available in properties. Is this possible? How would I write the query?

Hi,
to perform this kind of operation on a .exe file you need to configure software inventory.
Inside the properties just choose to Collect File Details and select a path to scan.

That's made a lot simpler in ConfigMgr 2012, as it can now simply be selected as an extra class in the
Hardware Inventory of your client settings.
Simply go in to your client settings, go to Hardware Inventory
and click Set Classes. Here you can select the Quick Fix Engineering class to be part of your inventory.
After an inventory you will be able to create your collection. Do keep in mind that this will also capture a lot of information that you will probably never use.

SRM PO failed: Indicator for GR-based invoice verification used not allowed

Hi Friends,
I have an issue with a specific PO failed to transfer from SRM to ECC. We are in ECS scenario, SRM 5.0 Service level 7.0. We are in process of SP upgrade but this issue occured in Production system which is still in old SP level(SP 7.0).
when I check the App Monitor, I am see the following errors: but the status shows Auto_Completed
1. PO: Indicator for GR-based invoice verification used not allowed
2. PO: Instance XXXXXXXXXX of object type PurchaseOrder could not be changed
3. PurchOrder XXXXXXXXXX: Purchase order still contains faulty items
4. PO XXXXXXXX: Indicator for GR-based invoice verification used not allowed
I can see the PO copied over to ECC. but status in SRM PO shows 'Error in Process'.
BBP_PD for object PO shows: Created, complete, ordered, In Transfer to Execute, Change was Transmitted as Inactive status. Transfer Failed shows Active, Document completed, created.
I checked BP Maintain for the vendor and PO and its no different than other POs and Vendors except Vendor had 'Goods Receipt based Invoice Verification' indicator checked in SRM.
I tried to simulate the same Material, Vendor with GR-IV indicator both on and off, it works fine. Ofcourse this is in Quality box with SP 15 level.
So, I am not sure if SP level upgrade might help it or not? If there are any other means to test, please advise.

I was wondering how I could liquidate the PO by either creating a new PO or ??.
What you could do to revive the PO in question is that after the upgrade, and after a round of background jobs run for CLEAN_REQREQ_UP and BBP_GET_STATUS_2, ask the buyer to make a dummy change to the PO (for example, change the description of the PO) and order again. This would trigger the transfer to the backend again. And hopefully this time, no error would occur.

WQL Query for Last Policy Request

I'm trying to create a collection based on workstations whose last policy request was more than 30 days ago and I'm having trouble with the query statement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can query v_CH_ClientSummary to get last policy request and join
v_r_system in order to get the comuter name.
That SQL and cannot be used for building a collection ...

Scheduled WEBI reports based on File Events not retrieving data

Dear All,
We are facing performance related issues with Scheduled WEBI reports based on file based events.
When running Web Intelligence on demand it takes 4to 5 Minutes.
Scheduling the same report in Excel format it takes more than 20 minutes.Schedule status showing success but no data found in Excel instance.

Is your report has prompts?
if you have prompts , make sure that you assigned prompts in the schedule also.
Hope you have multiple webi processing servers and adpative job servers for better scheduling performance.
Try below solution .
On the BusinessObjects Enterprise server, navigate to the folder <install root>\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_X86\dataAccess\connectionServer
Open the file cs.config in a text editor such as Notepad
Search the file contents for the string "Traces Active"
Modify the line from <Traces Active="Yes"> to <Traces Active="No">
Save the cs.config file
Restart the Web Intelligence Processing Server

LabView 2010 Application Builder for EXE Always Included files are not Included

In LabVIEW 2010 F2, When I am using the Application Builder to build an EXE file, I have listed 10 or so files to Be "Always Included". But when I Explore the directory where the EXE was built, those "Always Included" files are not there or in any subdirectory under the EXE file.
This frequently makes my EXE file not work properly because important files are missing. I have to spend extra debugging time to find out the the cause of my problem is missing files that the Application Builder should have transferred "Always".
Why did the Application Builder, when building an EXE target, not include the files that should be "Always Included"?
Why does the Application Builder ignore these files specifications?

Windows App Certification Kit - Test Fails for Validate Desktop App at "Write appropriate Add/Remove Program values"

Hi,
I am trying to validate a .Net Framework 4 WinForms application for use in the Microsoft Partner Network portal.
I am using Windows App Certification Kit 3.4 for Windows 8.1 , and the Validate Desktop App option.
To build the package I am using InstallShield 2012 SPR Limited Edition (for Visual Studio), and the validation fails
only with the following error (please also see the attached image):
Clean reversible install test: Failed to Write appropriate Add/Remove Program values
Error Found: The registry population test detected the following error: app didn't create the required registry entries.
A non-optional value 'DisplayName' is missing or invalid (same for 'Publisher', 'ProductVersion')
Please note that I have filled in all the publisher/product details in the InstallShield project, on the General Information page.
Also I have tried to use the Microsoft Visual Studio Installer Project for VS2013, and the validation failed with the exact same error.

You may need to add the necessary info to the app’s Windows Installer package so it can configure Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel correctly. Setting these properties automatically writes the corresponding values into the registry. From the picture,
you are missing some necessary information about your desktop app.
Also You need the correct admin permissions to write to the registry.

Firefox is not available in C:\Program Files and in Add/Remove Programs

I am trying to run an Oracle application which is currently installed in one of our user's PCs, but when we try to generate a report it would fail to do so as Mozilla Firefox is installed on the system and I believe it is set as the default browser. I tried to uninstall it as it is not required anymore, but to my shock I didn't find it in Add\Remove Programs list and also not in C:\Program Files. I tried installed Windows Clean-Up utility, but the application doesn't exist there either. I want to remove Mozilla completely, can someone please help?!! By the way, I also deleted the Mozilla files under the Application Data of all user accounts on that machine; still no luck.

I believe that it's a good idea to leave them be JUST in case they installed a dependency that a new application is using.
This isn't exactly likely but it could happen.
When I'm uninstalling applications I use a tool called
Revo Uninstaller which finds files and registry entries that applications might leave behind.
Will your machine explode and Windows stop booting? Probably not.
Are these left-over files destroying your Hard Drive capacity? Again, Probably not.
Basically, I can't think of much of a reason to delete them so I think it's decent to leave them just in case, but again it probably wont do any damage. Running an third-party application like
CCleaner is also good practice and could likely delete some of the unwanted/unneeded files and crud like that.
Also, most application settings are usually present in the C:\Users\UserAccount\Application Data\ and not in the Program Files or Program Data.

Urgent: executeQueryForCollection does not execute query for collection

Some ViewLink detail views do not refresh when the master RSI navigates.
Instead, it seems that a cached query collection is used.
How can we control this behaviour? Under what circumstances does the rowset re-use an old QueryCollection instead of re-executing the query?
It seems to work for some detail VOs but I cannot find a difference between the working and non-working VLs and VOs.

thanks for your answer. But I still don't get it.
It's so erratic.
I have a worklist with --- say 10 rows.
Then:
I navigate to every row and then back to the first row.
Now I start an integrated application (with its own transaction and database connection) that produces a new detail row.
I refresh the worklist, navigate back to the row.
Then I go to the next row and repeat the same.
Now, sometimes I can do all the stuff after "Then:" 100 times and it works every time. The detail shows the newly added row.
Sometimes it works just 4 times, then it simply stops working. The newly added rows are not fetched.
So what's the plan? Why does it work sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't?
Why does it work for some ViewLinks and not for others?
Second example: I have a tree binding. The top node has 4 children. Of course, JUTreeBinding uses RL-VLs to build the tree.
Two of those children detail VOs show the problem all the time, the other two NEVER EVER.
What's the plan? Why does it work for some VOs and not for the others?
If this is really by design (I doubt it judging by the flakyness), then that means for us: get rid of ALL ViewLinks and replace them with this listener scheme. Is this really intended? This would be a nightmare. I cannot use VLs and listeners in parallel. How do I know that whether the VL already caused the execution -- this really happens! -- or not?? Is the solution to execute always twice? Where's the reduction in resource consumption then?
What's the point in caching the query collection of 5 hours ago? Data can change in the DB in the meantime, can it?
I tried to produce a test application based on Scott/Tiger but failed, because there, the VLs re-executed the query EVERY SINGLE TIME. No matter what changes I made with TOAD in the tables. Is this a bug then???
And there is no way (setting, property) to control this?
I am sorry, but I cannot believe that this is really intended. The idea is so ... weird.

I have a System Center 2012 R2 Config Manager as single management point. The SCCM is already have Endpoint Protection Point role installed. Then I need to create a new collection that contain all SCEP clients, to as deployment target of a rule and policy.
I've try to create a query-based collection, with the following query language :

Is there difference query language between SCCM 2012 SP1 and R2?

I saw System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection is under Installed Applications (64) node when I open Resource Explorer on a computer that installed System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection.
So I edited your query, then these computers appeared on the collection.

REST API: Query for object based on name instead of objectId

Please correct me if I'm wrong...
Right now I have to query anything and everything by the objectId. The issue is that I don't know what that is. I know the name. So, for example, If I know the objectId of an edge device named "myrouter" is "edge-1", then I can do:
     https://nsxmgr/api/4.0/edges/edge-1
Awesome! Now I get the entire config. But let's say I don't know the edgeId. Because why would I? I would, however, know its name because that's why I name things. In many other API's all I would have to do is something like this:
     https://nsxmgr/api/4.0/edges?name=myrouter
The only way I know of to do this today is to fetch ALL of the edges with the following:
     https://nsxmgr/api/4.0/edges
This returns every single edge in the scope! Then I have to do something like (in powershell):
     $router_exist = (Select-Xml -Xml $script:edges -XPath "//edgeSummary[name=`"$esr_name`"]").Node
     if ($router_exist) {
          $router_id = $router_exist.objectId
This isn't just for edges...its for every object available. Is it not possible to query based on an attribute?

However my issue is that it gets loaded in a wrong format.
In our System OU Name is shown as "COMPUTERS"; "DK"; "123dom" - Instead of 123dom/DK/Computers.
We cannot make collections quering for OU name with this format in SCCM 2012. Has anyone seen this issue before? The forest was discovered using AD Forest+System+User discovery.

Dynamic sql query for report based on user input

Hi everyone,
I have built custom search fields (name, date born, gender etc.) in the search region and in the results region a report need to be displayed.
Now I'm not very experienced with Apex or Oracle sql, but could anyone telll me how to first check if a user filled in a field and then build a query based upon what field the user filled in to submit.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi, Cleopatra. Welcome to OTN!
If you don't have too many fields instead of checking to see if they're filled in you can use OR conditions in yoru WHERE_CLAUSE to check for NULLS to ignore NULLS, something like (you will have to test this carefully!)
AND some_column = NVL(:P24_1,some_column)the idea being that if the field is NULL then the column will match itself - in this case assuming the column itself does not have a null value
