Creation of new material with reference to other material

Hi All,
I have requirement where i have to create new selling unit material with reference to the given material.
Now, can any buddy suggest which FM or BADI i have to use to read BOM and ROUTING  info of reference material and same to create BOM and ROUTING for new material.
Doing this with BDC after reading data directally from tables is one option, But i am looking for any BADI or Fm which will serve the purpose.
Thanks in Advance,
Rahul

Hi,
... but if you prefer FM, then you can use BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT or BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA, depending if you are using Retail or not. BDC is usually not possible for all views - which you would need for complete creation.

  • Order creation  with reference to other order in B2B shop

    Hi Experts,
In our project we have a B2B scenario in internet sales where we have to create a order (Item category TANN) with reference to other existing order (item category TAN) . How can we do that?
We have both transaction types in transaction group which was assigned to the webshop.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Rao,
You are right. CRM 5.0 ISA allows multiple transaction types per webshop. But there is no followup transaction cpacity is build into the webshop. One alternate way to achieve this functionality is to create an order template using one transaction type and then use the second order type to create a followup from the template. Other alternate approach is to quotation to order follow-up process, where you choose one transaction type as quotation and then create the order using a followup for the quotation.

If you create a sales document with reference to a preceding document, the system copies nearly all the data from the preceding document. The data in the preceding document originally comes from the customer and material master records. Because the data is copied from the preceding documents into the sales document, any changes that have been made to the master data records since the preceding document was created are not included in the sales document. If, when you create with reference, you add another item to the document that was not in the preceding document, the system determines the data for it from the master records, such as the material master or info record.
You have created an inquiry and a quotation with reference to this inquiry. Before you created the quotation, you changed some data in the material and customer master records.
You have changed the material description in the material master record. This description is stored in the sales document at item level.
You have changed the terms of payment in the customer master record from ZB01 to ZB03. These are stored in the sales document at header level.
When you created the inquiry, the system copies the original material description to the item. If you enter another item in the quotation for the same material, the system displays the new material description for the new item.
However, the system continues to propose the original term of payment, that is, ZB01, for all items including the new one. This is because it is copied from the header of the preceding document into the header of the quotation, and the change in the customer master record has no affect on the quotation.

    Nikhil Deshpande,
If you dont want allow create a sales order in referent to other one, just delete the copy control between these sales order type, so when the user tries to create a SO in reference to other one a message is displayed that is not possible.
    Thanks,

  • Creation of production order with reference to sales order

    dear all guru's,
i m having a requirement of creating production order with ref to sales order but without changing my old strategy of make to stock.
    regards
    ujwal

    Hi,
For the purpose of creation of production order with reference to sales order while maintaing MTS strategy you need to maintain Make to stock strategy 40 in strategy group in MRP-3 View of Material Master.
This is the only Make-to-Stock Strategy which enables you create Production Order against both Sales order as well as Demand / PIR.
So if your strategy group is already 40 then you need not change it.
However if you are using any other Make-to - Stock strategy like 10, 11 etc. then it is not possible to create Production Order against Sales Order since they dont consider Sales Order in planning. So you need to change them and set strategy group as 40.
    Hope this helps.
Revert if you have any doubt.

    Hi,
You cannot create a new debit/credit. memo with reference to an old debit/credit memo. You can create a new one with reference only with the invoice.
what you can do is cancel the old deibit/credit memo by VF11 & create a new one with reference to invoice.

  • Creation of Change request with reference to existing change request

    Hi
I want to do Creation of Change request with reference to existing change request for MDG-F and MDG c/MDG S Is it possible? If yes, How?

    Hi Sanjay,
No , its not out of box functionality in MDG. Reason being, MDG framework provided some standard API's with the help of which we can do our development with ease.
    Like Governance API                            : IF_USMD_GOV_API
           Convenience Governance API         :IF_USMD_CONV_SOM_GOV_API
           Change Request API Interface:       IF_USMD_CREQUEST_API
With the help of which you can play around with your data in MDG with the pre-defined methods of it.

  • Sub-Asset creation with reference to other asset

    Hello
Due to company code merger, we are doing inter-company asset transfers.
For that we are first creating new assets in transferee company code with reference to existing assets in transferor company code via AS01.
Currently I am facing issue that the newly created asset in the transferee company code is always created with asset sub-number 0 even if the transferor asset is having sub number. This is because system automatically generates asset no and sub number as zero
Any idea how can we create a new asset with exactly same asset sub-number as transferor companyu2019s asset data.
If you have any pointers in this context, request you to share the same at the earliest.
    Thanking you in anticipation

  • Variant Matching  during Creation of Sales Order with reference to Contract

    Hi All,
    I have a following scenario. Sales Contract is created on a Configurable Material ' A' and its has a Material Variant "B" with following Charac Values X = X1, Y= Y1 & Z=Z1.
The value of Z= Z1 is set using a Procedure when Sales Document Type = OR ( This is the Document type For sales Order). So, this means variant matching will finally happen at Sales Order creation level, coz all the three reqd. charc. are availabe  at that time. This is also our reqmt.
But, now what is happening, a Sales Contract is created for Material A, with Charc values X = X1 & Y= Y1. When a sales order is created with reference to this Contract, immediately during Copying of selected item, Variant Matching gets triggered & Material A is replaced by Material Variant B. Even we dont get into the Configuration Window.
Actually, during copying itself Object Depencies are called and thats leading to variant Matching.
Our requirement is that, it should not get triggered at such early stage. It should happen when Config. window is clicked.
Kindly help. Copy Control of Sales Doc has setting 'No Control' We are in ECC 6.0. Are there some other settigs too.
    regards,
    Stuti

  • PMS: Creation of new tabs for reference elements of ENHANCE BADis

    Dear Experts,
I am on a PMS EHP5 implementation (for all practical purposes, it's an EHP4 implementation as we are not using the pre-defined template) and have the below problem.
I have the ENHANCE_FIX and ENHANCE_FREE BADIs included at the VA level (as the requirement is to create immediate child objects for the template through these BADIs). I have a reference element (VB) defined for these BADIs.
    Example template (L1 = Level 1, L2 = Level 2, L3 = Level 3):
    L1 - VA
    ---- L2 - VB1
    --------- L3 VC1
    --------- L3 VC2
    ---- L2 - VB2
    ---- L2 - VB3
In the above example template, the ENHANCE* BADIs will add VBs (example: VB4 and VB5) at the L2 level (appearing in the document below VB2 and VB3).
The requirement is to have separate tabs for each VB at the L2 level (so I will have one tab for VA and 5 tabs for VB from the above example).
I am unable to specify creation of new tabs for the reference element VB when I carry out my tabs and process configuration.
I have not been able to find any information on this aspect either. Would appreciate any help that can come my way.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Maurice.
I still feel that the product should leave that option to the designer of the solution. There are a lot of solutions which can get chaotic. If designed appropriately, I guess this chaos can be controlled.
At the very least, I am sure that I have not left anything out in configuration. I will raise this with SAP over a CSS.
    Thank you for your input.

    Regards
    Jino.

    Hi
decide which material type in the standard availabilty closely resembles you New material Type  you are planning to create, It may be ROH/HALB/FERT/ERSA or any other. Use the TxN OMS2 for this, select the existing Std Material and do a Copy As and name the New material Type starting with Z . for example ZRAW , once saved select the material tyep and go to the details of the new material type , you can remove Certail views if you donot wish to have it during material creation, check out other parameters also lie external proc/internal proc, standard or Moving avg price indicator  and proceed as required for you.
