Creation Of New Sharing Account Fails

I am trying to set up File Sharing. I have an external disk attached via FireWire. I'm logged in as an Admin user. I went to System Preferences -> Sharing and added the external volume root as a shared folder. Then, I clicked [+] in the Users list to add a user. This opened a new window, and I clicked on "New Person". This is supposed to create a special "Sharing User Account" that doesn't have an actual home folder on the computer. When I enter the User Name and Password and click on "Create Account", nothing happens, and the new user does not appear in the picker list. I tried this multiple times with different user names.
I noticed in the system.log the messages below. Has anybody else encountered this problem, and if so, is there a workaround? I'd prefer not to create a dedicated user for this.

I was able to find a workaround. Instead of creating the new user from within the User picker list opened from the File Sharing preferences pane, I went back to the Accounts preferences pane, and it allows the creation of a "Sharing Only" account type.

After the iOS 8.0 update, our iPads with profile to restrict the modification of account settings, allows the creation of new email accounts!

We have hundreds of iPads 4 rollout to external sales forces. We used Apple Configurator to supervised them and on the top we deployed thru a MDM system the restriction profile to Disallow modifying account settings.
After updating some iPads to iOS 8.0 we found out that the restriction "Disallow/Allow modifying account setting" works different compared to iOS 7. Now in iOS 8 it is posible to create new email accounts.
Behavior in iOS7 (with supervised mode) :
- This restrictions profile disabled the possibility to add, modify or delete email accounts from the Setting menu.
- The EMAIL app is blocked popping up a warning message that a creation of an email account is restricted.

- Using the EMAIL app shows the standard options to create a email account: iCloud, Exchange, Google, etc. and let the user store the account.

Today we updated to the device to iOS 8.0.2, but we have see the same behavior: EMAIL app is not protected to create new email accounts.

Creation of new sub-accounts

I am attempting to create a new sub-account for my daughter, but the "Manage Sub-Account" button does nothing.
Does anyone know how to create a new sub-account or how to get this working?

All new mail accounts fail

We are putting new mail accounts on an existing server, some users have accounts and we are adding new mail accounts for them in addition to their old accounts in the info section of the user account tab. Other new users are getting new mail accounts.
Problem...
All new mail accounts are not setting up correctly you cannot connect and also any mail delivered to the accounts comes back as user not found.
I have checked the Admin > Server > Access > Allow all users and groups
The logs look like this...

Creation of new portal user failed

i'm trying to create a new user using the security.api, and the user is created with all data i've added, but we get an error : "User account is not accessible due to data inconsistencies". the field logon id is not filled.
the code i'm using is as follows.

We found the problem,
We had to add a numeric and /or a special charachter in the password

EAS only sync's calendar on creation of new EAS account.

We run our mail server remotely. It is a Zimbra system which is supposed to be Activesync compatible (5.0.18_GA_3009 NE w/mobile sync option). And, I have seen from several posts that there are people successfully syncing with Zimbra. I am able to connect to the server and email syncs fine. The calendar will sync on the initial sync but, nothing after that.
contacts indicate that there are only 50 in the account when there are close to 1000.
What am I missing?

Today is a special day!!! I finally solved the mystery thanks to many of the posts on this sites and others. The solution:
I was waiting for my corporate IT group to solve why my calendar account in Zimbra still showed a size of 10M when the cursor was held over the folder, thinking tthis was related to my problems, when I decided to see if I could get contacts to do something...I had read a post that said exporting outlook folder to pst files, deleting them, removing the eas acct, reinstalling eas on Pre, and importing pst had worked for a few. So, I did this.
In addition, I thought as long as I am removing accounts, I would remove Chapura PocketMirror accounts. The Pre had a really hard time deleting and resolving this. I had to delete the application and do a hard reset of the Pre.
After reinstalling the eas account, test items started syncing. I then imported pst files into contacts and calendar and all is well.
(zimbra calendar still says 10M, but it appears to not affect anything)

Macbook bound to AD won't allow network login or new local account creation

As the title states I am having an issue related to a macbook pro that is bound to active directory. The only option we tweak when binding the macs to AD is that we opt to "create mobile account" option under directory utility.
It also seems that while we can login through the local admin account, new local accounts cannot be created (the account creation window hangs when you create account).
Any help would be appreciated

To successfully bind a mac workstation to Active Directory certain things need to be in place:
DNS has to be fully resolving on both pointers. This is done on the PDC or whatever server is the designated DNS Server.
Date and Time settings need to be adjusted to reflect whatever is designated as the NTP Server in the AD environment. Adjust the Date & Time Preferences Pane and find out from the Windows Network Administrator what the NTP Server IP address is.
You must use account credentials that has authority for the AD Domain. If you're trying to use your own account it may be restricted in what it can do? A domain account has special privileges not usually accorded to ordinary user accounts.
This assumes you're (a) not the Active Directory Network Administrator and (b) you're using the Active Directory plug-in the login options section of the Accounts Preferences Pane. It's a good idea to click the "Open Directory Utility" button when binding to Active Directory. It's also a good idea to access the Advanced Section once the Utility has opened.
If this is failing at the bind stage then perhaps you should review the details you've been given when binding to AD? It may be worthwhile to clear the workstation from the Computer OU before you try again?

Yes. I would clarify your statement about the "shared" iTunes Library though. If you want each iOS device to have its own music library, you should create separate user accounts for them. Read:

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings. Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account. You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to

Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account. (have restrictions turned off) That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices. Then sign in using the new ID.

No. Purchase always remain with the account they were purchased with.

Content is permanently tied to the account it is acquired with.
Apple ID's cannot be deleted.
Simply sign out of the undesired account and stop using it. Sign in with the desired account.

Request for the creation of a new Unemployment account for tax

This is a question with regard to US tax. We have received a request for the creation of a new Unemployment account for the payment of taxes. This is because the account assignment number has changed for a particular company code in Tennassee state. Please let me know where this change could be made in SAP.

Table T5UTL is used for New Tax Company Codes. If this is a new legal entity, youu2019ll need to set up the Tax Company here. Youu2019ll also need to assign at least one Personnel Area to this new Tax Company. This must be established in order to update the next table shown below, but only if itu2019s a new legal entity. The user will know.
Table T5UTH is for establishing the account number to be used in BSI. It must be established in order to update the next table shown below.
Table T5UTI is for assigning account numbers by Tax Company Code. Youu2019ll need one for Tax Authority TN, Tax Type 10. The user will need to supply this information to you.
Table BTXRATE will need to be updated with the Tax Company Code, year, and the State Unemployment Insurance rate & taxable wage amount.
Once this is done, youu2019ll need to update BSI.
If Tennessee is a new state, youu2019ll have work to do with the tax models.

Good morning to all,i have one doubt regarding creating a new Bank Master Data in Production, please help me.My user has a requirement which is like one Cash Credit Account has been opened with SBI bank where with the same bank and branch there is already an existing Current Account,now my client wants from me to create a bank master data for the new bank Cash Credit Account( as he is saying that he has to maintain BRS).
Now i have to know that what is the best practice in sap whether i should create one more master data for the new Account or i should attach the new account with the existing Bank Master?
Please help it is urgent.I'll be waiting for your valuable suggestion.

Hi Rajiv,
Creation of new house bank will not serve purpose in better way, it is only required when there is a complext scenatio in check printing but that does not appear in your case.
So, create a new Bank Account in the existing House Bank, this will be included in Bank Reconciliation. Moreover, creation of Bank account instead of House Bank will also ease some maintainance in Bank Reconciliation statement configuration.

Software Version 3.0 Fails-Reset Fails-Create a New User Account?

Last night I purchased the new 3.0 software. After attempting to install my pc froze up. After about 20 minutes I no choice but to do a hard reset. I then got a message that I had to do a restore back to the factory setting-when attempting to do so-if failed as well.
I called Support the first time who advised me that there was nothing I could and it was out of warranty (incorrect-I have a 2 year extended purchase) and to bring it to a store. Fortunately-I have one close by. I zipped over to the store only to be told there was no tech support due to the new iphone launch. Talk about great service. They finally got me someone who took it and apparatenly said he had restore it. He came out from the back and told me to uninstall and reinstall iTunes.
I came home and the same process happened all over again.
I had to call back support and was fortunate to get a very helpful, patient and great guy who told me I had to create a new user account 9i use Vista). Upon doing so i was able to get my touch restored.
Why would I have to do this procedure? It took over 4 hours?

Does anyone know what may have caused this? HELP!

Unless you use jurisdiction codes, and no external tax system, for
example with tax procedure TAXUSJ, there is no validity dates for the
condition records. You can see this differnce by comparing the tables
A003 without jurisdiction codes and A053 with jurisdiction codes. A053
contains the extra fields DATBI (key field) and DATAB. This is the
standard functionality.
Please have a look at the following part of note 418582:
" Changing past percentage rates has to be inhibited in order to avoid
database inconsistencies. For this reason, the functions which allow you
to transport time-dependent tax codes with percentage rates from the
past are not supported."
