Creation of Track in CMS

Hi community,
I'm working on J2EE server with JDI installed.
We use JDI for Syncronized DTR activities from Track for developement WD Application in Business Package ESS 100 sp 6.0.
On this Server has been update a SP 9 for ESS and SP 13 for Netweaver Patch.
So, I would create a new for ESS 100 Sp 9 because nowadays exist one track for ESS 100 Sp 9.
This operation...required:
1) Reimport of CIM in SLD??
2) Creation of new Product and Sofware Catalog??
3) Creation of new Track in CMS therefore re-checkin of .Sca??

Hi Antonello,
For Reimport of CIM, goto URL http://<J2EEServer>:<Port>/sld
Goto Administrator -> Check if SLD is up and running.
Under Content, click on Import. Click on Import Content from Server.
For Creation of Track for ESS, Check this note:

It contains all the information you need to configure the JDI for ESS.

Error while creating a track in CMS

Hi all,
I am trying to create a track in CMS using J2ee_ administrator.While saving I am getting the below error.
SLD (URL http://rhocrmd2:50000) server exception: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access.
The same error is coming while I save runtime systems or update cms or save domain.
J2ee_admin is assigned to nwdi.administrator group which is assigned to nwdi.administrator role.
In security provider of visual administrator I assigned the security role LcrInstanceWriterAll.
The same user I am using in SLD data supplier service in Visual admin.I am able to log into sld with j2ee_admin user and able to create Software component.
No idea why the above error is coming.
Any more permissions need to be given?

How to configure the runtime and consolidation for a track in CMS.

How to configure the runtime and consolidation for a track in CMS.
I can see the track exists in CMS but the same doesnt pull up in the NWDS in the development configuration perspective.
I compared the given track with the one which gets pulled up in NWDS. Theres something called runtime system and consolidation which isnt defined for the track which is invisible.
Please advise , what are these required for. And how can we configure the same.

The runtime systems are defined for a track to setup the Transport path for any code changes....the Consolidation system is usually defined as a Virtual system for the track and used for comparison and fixing any broken or Dirty DC's ....that means it's not used as a Runtime System for Deployment as compared to DEV,QAT and PROD used for Deployment...

Error while Creation on Track(create/save) CBS authorization exception?

I am trying to create Track in CMS in NWDI. When I am saving after importing relevant SC (ESS/MSS),
I got below error while saving.
CBS (URL http://sapdevep:50000/tc.CBS.Appl/archiveapi2/) authorization exception: User not authorized to log into build server. ( Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://sapdevep:50000/CBSWebService/CBSHttpSOAP?style=rpc" )
request you guide me for this problem.

Error when defining Xi-track in CMS

Hi,
when I try to create an Xi track in CMS and when saving I get this error:
Unexpected error; inform your system administrator: com.sap.cms.util.exception.CMSUnexpectedException: Reading GDI ... FAILED. Source is not well formed. SAXParseException at line -1, column -1. Details: Message: Generic Exception: Stacktrace: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.NestedSAXParserException: Generic Exception: -> com.sap.aii.util.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException: Parsing generic data instance: begin of unexpected element "html"! at com.sap.aii.util.hmi.core.gdi2.GdiCharStreamer$GdiCharReader.startElement(GdiCharStreamer.java:344) at ....
Anybody that has experienced the same or understand why?

Hi found out the error on my own but thought I should share...
The CMS tries to connect to http://host1:51700/rep/cmstransport/int and http://host2:53600/rep/cmstransport/int with the CMS user defined in Domain Data, in my case user cmsadm.
The password for this user had expired in both client systems and instead of downloading a XML the CMS was prompted by an HTML page requesting a password change...

Creation of Track with modified ess/mss SCAs

Hi,
I am in a situation where es/mss code has been changed in production directly without any track.
Now therequirement is:
Creating a new track with the modified SCAs and use that track for future enhancement.
My doubts are:
1. How can I get the modified SCAs to add while creating the tracks.
The track will offer the SCs added in SLD. Will it be the latest one.

Hi Arindam,
I'm a bit concerned now about the possibility of getting your changed sources into the track:
As you are stating, all deployments were done directly on the production server using SDM from NWDS. This means, that only the builded EAR files are deployed on the server without the sources. With these kind of deployments the SCA files were never affected.
So it will not work!
Some way or another you need to get the changed sources into the the track:
by manipulating the original SCA file with the changed sources and importing it into CMS;
or,
by importing the original SCA file into CMS and upgrading the sources manually.
My advice is the second scenario.

2. Now. while making track, this SC does not appear immediately.

Why does this SC take soooo much time to appear? Wat can I configure/setup to make this process faster?

Hi Ritu,
Once you create a SC make sure that you click on Update CMS button once you login to CMS. This will make CMS read SLD and refresh its cache.

Creation Of Track For ESS/MSS

Hi,
Could anybody send me the steps in brief or any document which gives step by step procude exactly what needs to be done in NWDI to create a track for ESS/MSS.
I have gone thru some of the sdn posts but i didnt get exactly what steps need to be done....like apart from importing predefined SCA's.
Please help me out...

Hi Sreesha,
Process: Creating Track for ESS/MSS Application.
1) open the NWDI URL.
2)click on "Change Management Service" link and login.
3)After logging you will be in "Transport Studio" link. Shift to "Landscape Configurator" link click on that, there you will see tract related page.
4)In the middle of the page there are differnet options(buttons) like Change,New,Save,Save As,e.t.c..
5)Click on New button then you will get new track related fields. After giving required details bottom of that there are some more options(buttons) like ADD Sc,Delete,e.t.c.., clcik on ADD Sc and add the SCs related to ESS/MSS and click on SAVE button which is present on top of window.
6)With these steps required track will be created...

i have this error 'CBS (URL http://******:50100/tc.CBS.Appl/archiveapi2/) communication exception: Build Server request failed without CBS specific error code. HTTP status: 403 (Forbidden)'

CMS can not save track data

Hi very body:
I upgrade NWDI in NW2004s SP15,Now I meet a matter.when I save the track data. The system give me a message:
*Unexpected error; inform your system administrator: com.sap.cms.util.exception.CMSUnexpectedException .*
Does anyone know what I have to do.Thanks a lot.

NWDI Configuration: CMS

hi,
We are trying to configure NWDI and in this process, we had completed all the steps for NWDI installation and configuration and also the CMS configuration, Product & SC Definition in SLD now during the creation of Tracks using CMS, we are not able to see the Software component created in the SLD.
Any idea how to solve this.

Kris,
Couple of things, which might help:
1. Go to CMS/Landscape Configurator/Domain Data
Make sure SLD URL field has correct data and press "Update CMS" button.
CMS will sync component data from SLD. If it fails, check log files for explanation. If success, you will see new components from SLD.
2. NWDI questions are better answered if posted to NWDI forum

CMS tracks

Hi Friends,
We are implementing CMS in our landscape to transport XI objects between the systems. Our landscapes are XI1->XI2 (this is one landscape) and the other one is XID->XIQ->XIP. We want to transport the objects from XI1 to XI2 and then from XI2 to XID and viceversa. I configured the CMS and created a track for one of my components for the both landscapes. While creating the track I gave the DEV and QUA URL for the first landscape but I'm stuck with the creation of track for the second landscape for the same component.
Can anybody please help me define the track for one of my components for the second landscape mentioned in the above scenario in a way that once the objects are imported into XI2, I should be able to import them into XID? Or is there any way to directly import objects into XID once the objects are moved to XI2?

Track not visible in CMS - urgent

Hi ,
I am working on EJB -Webdynpro Dc projects. My application is working on production server , but i am not able to view track in CMS. what may be cause of this problem?? I haven't deleted track from CMS , still is not shown in CMS.Also when i am logging to DTR in Netweaver studio i am getting message "There is no build space with identifier APPL2(track name)" How can i resolve this problem???

Hi Kavitha,
From the error message what you have posted "There is no build space with identifier APPL2" It looks like the track has been deleted from CMS.
Because whenever you delete a track from CMS the corresponding build spaces also get deleted, but the DTR workspace have to be deleted manually.
To me it looks like the track has got deleted.
But additionally looking at the SCs in DTR you can recreate the track in CMS with the same name.That shud not be a problem.
If you are still doubtful about the track deletion you can open a message as suggested by Pascal.

Alter CMS track data fails

Hi,
We use CMS for transporting repository and dictonary objects. The CMS track was initially set-up with a development system and one QA system. Transporting between these two systems works fine.
Now we have had the production system installed and obviosely I want to add this system to the track (XI URL Production). When I type in the URL and save I get no error message but the URL is not saved. If I try to navigate to another track or CMS screen I get prompted to save, but the URL is not saved....
Anybody encountered the same problem? How do I get the production URL into the CMS system.
We run NW2004s currently on SP10

The CMS Admin user was not set-up in our Xi production system. Could have been nice with an error message in CMS though...
