Adobe Creative Cloud – FAQ

first try, http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/cc-applications-crash-immediately-launch.html
if that doesn't help:
    Un-install Photoshop CC.
    Un-install Adobe CC.
Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe and find SLCache and delete it.
Go to: C:\ProgramData\Adobe and find SLStore and delete it.
    Restart.
    Install Adobe CC.
    Install Photoshop.
    Restart.
and:
App doesn't open | Progress wheel spins continually
and you can always install without the desktop app:
if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  Adobe CC 2014 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2014 Release | ProDesignTools
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

  • Wow, why does Creative Cloud suck so bad?   Why are there no FAQs in the Creative Cloud FAQ?

I am new to Creative Cloud.   I found some PSD event poster templates on line and I would like to be able to download some of these templates to create event posters.   I have modest goals.
    1) I found a link on the Adobe site for $9.99 monthly fee for photoshop + lightroom.   ok, seems reasonable to spend $10 for a month to see how it goes, I think
    2)  Once I get my CC account set up, there is no upgrade option or the $10 / month deal... only options are more expensive than $10 / month... but I can try it free for some time... ok I'll do that.  Hopefully, I will be able to do what I want to do with the free services?
    3)  Install create cloud app on my computer
    4)  click on install photoshop...   after 20 minutes only 3% downloaded.   darn!   Looks like I am not going to be creating any flyers tonight!
    5)   Is there something wrong?   Maybe I have done something stupid (I mean besides signing up for CC)... lemme check the Creative Cloud FAQ.   Oh!   There are no questions in the Creative Cloud FAQ.   Excellent...
It takes a special kind of talent to transform a potential customer who knows nothing about a product and turn that customer into a hater in one evening.
I just want to say congrats!

That's the page from which I started this troubled journey.  I clicked on "purchase"  and since I didn't have an account yet, it took me off to some other page to create an account, verify my email and all of that and then finally to a blank page... seemed like there was some delay from the time I created the account until the account became useable.   In the meantime I was continuously directed to a blank page every time I tried to log in.   After some time I was able to look at upgrade options, but the $10 offer was not one of my options.   Now, if I go back to the original page which had the $10 option and click on purchase, it seems like it is giving me the option to purchase.   The whole process seems very poorly designed and poorly executed.   Does the software work any better?
In any case, what I am looking to do is download some of the cheap or low cost event poster templates on the internet and edit them to create my own event posters.    I am not sure which Adobe application I need to do this.
Here is an example of the template
    thanks,
    David

  • Creative Cloud FAQ clarity

I'm looking for clarity about this FAQ:
"Do I have to save my files to the storage space on Creative Cloud?
No — just sync what you want. You can save every file to your desktop and choose which ones you sync to Creative Cloud."
DOES this mean you have to save content to the desktop or can it be saved anywhere?

Can be saved anywhere. Same as the traditional versions.
Desktop is just an example in that FAQ response.
What we don't yet have is the Creative Cloud Connect component which will sync local files to the Cloud. Don't yet know if that will have any limitations on where local files are stored.

  • Creative Cloud not loading the 'Apps' page

Recently downloaded Creative Cloud and everytime I go onto the Apps link to look at the Apps I can download it just gives me a loading screen. And it doesn't budge from that. I have tested my internet connection and it is working fine (around 20 mbps) so is there anyway I can get around this? As I need Creative Cloud for my University work. I am using MAC OS X MAVERICKS.
    Thank you.

  • Contradiction in Creative Cloud FAQ

The CC FAQ has contradictory statements about how long you can remain on a particular software version after an upgrade is released. Which is the correct answer: 1 year or for the life of the subscription? Will you be amending the FAQ?
When an upgrade to a desktop application becomes available in Creative Cloud, am I required to install it?
No. You are not required to install any new version of the desktop software available in your membership. You also have flexibility on when you install an upgrade, if you choose to do so. You can continue using your current version of the product for one full year after the subsequent version is released.
As a Creative Cloud member, am I required to install an upgrade to a desktop application when it becomes available?
No. You are not required to install any new version of the desktop applications available in Creative Cloud. You can continue using your current version of the product as long as you have an active membership. You have flexibility on when you install a new release to take advantage of new product features, if you choose to do so.

    This is the correct answer

  • Feature Request - Creative Cloud Sending Links

Adobe, please give the file owner the ability to add a message when Sending the Link to a client.
Why is this important? Well, after attending a Create Now session, I saw how useful it would be to share proofs with clients online instead of via PDFs emailed. So I took the public link and started inserting it into my, more descriptive emails to my clients. However, when viewing the public link, clients cannot see my comments, or comment back.
So now, I have to send a client an email that tells him/her that I will be sharing a file using the other link, and they recieve a generic "XYZ sent you a file through Creative Cloud" message.
I want to practice good customer service with my clients, so please allow me to add a personal message to the sharing link.
    Thanks!
    Carlos

Please consider adding these feature as well!
    1. Can you add a way to specify download location?  When a teammate sends me a project and I download it, they always go to my cluttered download folder.  Having a choice or dialog box would save a lot of headaches.
    2. Can you set up a way so CC can remember email addresses or create grouping with emails?  Say "Teammates" and have CC remember and autocomplete email addresses?  Currently I have to memorize them etc.

  • Why is creative cloud just a blank white page? This has only happened recently, and I can find nothing to tell me how to fix it!!!!

Creative cloud won't load, nor can I shut it down. Every time I click on the icon the drop down is blank. (using a mac)

Launch Activity Monitor and "Force Quit" all the process related to Adobe like Creative Cloud, CoreSync, AAMupdater, AAMupdater notifier, Adobe Crash demon from Activity monitor.
    1) Right click on Finder icon and  select "Go-To" Folder option.
    2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.( Do not miss ~ symbol)
    ~/library
3)Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe>OOBE. Open OOBE folder and delete opm.db file.
Once you had trashed Opm.db file , launch Creative Cloud application and check.

  • Lightroom 4.2 tells me to upgrade to 4.3 on Creative Cloud, but link takes me to 4.2 update.

Do I need to go to the main lightroom 4.3 DL?  I don't want to DL the whole thing if I don't need it.

Yes you will need to download the main Lightroom 4.3 download available on the product update page.  Photoshop Lightroom's updates are currently only offered as an installation of the entire software package.

  • Creative Cloud section of the forum

I see that judging by the volume of posts in the other section that the CC users are having fun with the new updates
That is if they can download them
Well done Adobe, I had very very low expectations of your management of the CC update on the 17th (18, whatever) and guess what you failed to reach those expectations
    Sorry should not be sarcastic

I have the new software. However, how long might it be before I even notice a difference that matters to me? That could take a while.
If you accept 8PM PDT as the planned official time of release (after the party was over at the Adobe offices), then they were about 34 minutes late. Not bad, but annoying as hell for a lot of early adopters.

  • How do I move my Muse file to the Creative Cloud folder without losing all the links to assets?

I'd like to keep my .muse files in the Creative Cloud folder so they will be accessible from anywhere, and always backed up. But I have many hundreds of links to image assets etc, and am worried that if I move the Muse file to the CC folder the links will be broken.
The links situation with Muse already seems worrying to me — my images are all arranged in folders but Muse seems unable to deal with this properly so can have trouble finding them. So if I move not only the Muse file but all the image files and folders, will Muse still be able to operate, or will I be faced with potentially having to spend many hours manually linking the image files?
Is there a recommended way of arranging assets etc when working with Muse using the Creative Cloud folder?
    Thanks

Move from the Creative Cloud to the Muse forum. They will be able to help you here with the issue of Muse finding your images.
The Creative Cloud file storage will do nothing to change any of your files, it will just store them. But you will not be able to make your Muse sight work from within the Creative Cloud.

  • How do we use Creative Cloud as a company?

How do we as a company use Adobe Creative Cloud?.
We need to have multiple subscriptions that are paid for and tied to the company.
These accounts cant be tied to the user.

PS there is a severe usability issue with the faqs/forum.
I click on a link that says "ask our experts" at the bottom of your contact page
The heading says "ask a question" but the field is actually a search for previous answers.
Then when you start typing in the search field a button appears at the end of th fieldsaying "submit question"...
...So I continued typing expecting the field to be what the heading suggests but when i clicked the button it reloads the page with the "start a new discussion" heading (when i thought i was suposed to be asking a question) and then loses everything typed.
Maybe you could improve this...a bit lot

    From the Creative Cloud FAQ:
Can I buy more than one membership to an individual offering of Creative Cloud?
No, Adobe has moved to identity-based licensing with a technology that will not support multiple same-product subscriptions, so you can only buy one membership per Adobe ID.  If you need two subscriptions to Creative Cloud, you will need to purchase each subscription with a unique Adobe ID.
And so it goes.  Hopefully you have control over your mail system that you can just create some aliases, like "[email protected]" and so on, to use as your Adobe IDs which you can then forward to a real mailbox of whomever happens to be the administrator-of-the-month or whatever
I think the lack of a volume license is a bit short-sighted on Adobe's part and makes management all that more difficult.

  • Generate prov.xml for Creative Cloud. Return Code 27

We're trying to follow this guide (Creative Cloud Help | Using Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition) to serialize a package (or something). We're stuck on generating prov.xml. My best attempt at an entry is:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP\utilities\APTEE>adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress --locales=en_US --provfilepath=C:\Program Fil
    es (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP
It says half of this is optional, but I'm skeptical.
Anyway, I'm getting return code 27. This indicates that it is unable to edit the prov.xml file specified. I didn't specify a prov.xml file, I'm trying to make one. The syntax I'm using differs from what I found on the page I linked, as that was giving me syntax errors. I lifted this off someone else's code. I've tried just about every variation I can think of. Any help would be appreciated.
