Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio & game mode

Hi all, I'm new here. Just recieve a present - this audio card http://shop.key.ru/shop/goods/37544/ , cant apply x-fi settings in battlefield 2.
my friends saying that this audio card doesn't support one thing called "game mode" can you tell me what is it and what should I do?
in one window (called console I think) there is "entertainment mode", but no "change mode" button
Message Edited by frostspb on 04-29-2009 2:4 PM

Yup, this card (xtreme audio) only has a single mode, Entertainment Mode that's all!
Also do note that unlike the rest X-Fi this particular model is not an X-Fi at all (despite bearing the same family name). It uses a non-X-Fi APU and does most effects processing in software!

  • Help Needed With Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Soundcard -

    Hi All,
I need some help I have just installed the Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7. Soundcard - OEM from overclockers uk - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-049-CL
My problem is this my machine is constantly sounding the 'Device Connected' and 'Device Disconnedted' Windows Sound, But there are no new devices my system was working perfectly fine until after installing the card.
My Mobo Is Abit AI7 with BIOS 9, Onboard sound disabled, VGA BIOS Cachable dis abled and there is not over clocking running.
I have removed my Dual DVB-T Tunner replaced it with a different one, moved the 2 PCI card around different slots and still that bloomin sound.
Its got to the point now I have turned my speakers OFF
    Anyone got an answer?
    TIA
    Andy

You know it helps to post solutions if it's working fine for you. Moreover, unless you have the same hardware as someone else what works for you won't necessarily work for them.
That said, @ the OP have you tried setting the mic as default under the Sound settings? (Type Sound in the search bar and click on the "Sound" entry to find it.)
    Also this may help
[Edit I wish these solutions were stickied or in an FAQ somewhere, activating/problems with the mic seem to come up quite a lot. Oh and I dunno if this will help too but when I had garbled mic issues on my X-Fi a complete uninstall and clean down with Driver cleaner seemed to fix it.]

  • Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio has no sou

Ive been angry with the X-FI xtreme Audio for Vista 32 since I got it but now its pissed me off. Ive tried looking through the forums for this problem but its very wierd and unique. I set up the audio to default just in case but no audio comes out. My headphones work and my computer detects the audio being played because in the control panel the bar for the speaker output goes up and down with the audio and the drivers are updated yet NO sound is coming through to my headphones. I reseated the PCI card and switched headphones just to check but they are all fine. So why is my computer detecting the audio and the PCI card but no sound is coming through to my headphones even though my headphones are working?

    Well, several things to try.
First, shut down any other software that might be using the sound card.  This means things like Windows sounds, Windows Media Player, Real Player, etc. etc.
Second, in Audition, go to Edit/Audio Hardware Setup.  Make sure the tick box beside "Release ASIO Driver in Background" is NOT ticked.
Third, make sure Asio4All is selected as the default driver in the appropriate drop down menu.
Fourth, select the sound card input(s) and output(s) you want to use for the sound input and monitoring.  Don't forget you have separate menus for this for Edit View and Multitrack View depending where you're recording--there are selection tabs at the top of the Audio Hardware Setup screen.
Fifth,, I've never used the sound card you have but, if it's like most Creative stuff, you'll have a sound card menu and mixer you can access from an icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.  Right click this and select the input(s) you want.  You may have to do this first to get the right inputs to show up on your AA Audio Hardware Setup screen.
Finally, if you're recording in Multitrack view, you may have to select the appropriate inputs in each track you want to use--that's the menu beside the right-pointing arrow at the beginning of each track.
Once you have everything working, you can save your settings as a default session so you don't have to do this every time.

I cannot record or do anything.  No sound at all for some reason.  Originally it was telling me that I would be using windows audio and so I switched to Asio drivers.  I couldn't get any sound before and I can't now.  I'm so confused..

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio -Game Probl

    Hello all,
I have just recently purchased a new PC in which I bought the sound card named above.
My problem is that when I play the game "Call of Duty 4" the sound card isn't recognized on it. But on "Call of Duty 2" and "Call of Duty " the Sound card is named in the Sound settings and it is much more of a improvement rather than just the Windows Default sound I have to use on Call of Duty 4.
Is there anyway I can fix this? If there is, please tell me how
    Thanks!?

I bought apart from the sound blaster audio, sold as "bulk" has the original driver cd

  • X-fi Xtreme Audio doesn't work in Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello everyone,
I know this is a known issue and I've found many topics on this, but still I can't find any solution and I hope you can help.
I've a Creative X-fi Xtreme Audio that was working perfectly under Windows XP SP3 but then I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and the sound coming out from my speakers is awful. I've installed the latest driver from creative home site, I've updated the OS via "microsoft Update", I've tried many suggestions I've found on the web to solve this, like phisically change the PCI slot of the sound card, or reduce the ram ammount via msconfig but it didn't work. I've tried some custom driver either, the support pack 2.7 by Daniel?K. but nothing... I'm still at the starting point.
    What should I do?
    This is my actual configuration:
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Premium SP v 6..760
    CPU: AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+
MB: Asus M3N78 SE (with the latest bios version 002)
    Ram: 4gb
    Video: nVidia GeForce GT 220

    I use CS4 on a Windows 7 64-bit computer.
I noticed that none of the extensions I installed with the Extension Manager don't appear at all in any of the CS4 programs.
Can anyone tell me why this doesn't work or how to solve this problem?
Try posting to the Extension Manager forum:

  • Error installing Creative X-FI Xtreme Gamer...

Wonder if you guys can help. i have had this problem before and the only way I could fix it was rebuilding my OS. I am running Windows 7 32-bit and I have uninstalled my Creative X-FI Xtreme Gamer to clear up some audio issues and update to a new driver. i uninstalled the old one my device manager, uninstalled all the associated applications then booted into safe mode and ran Driver Cleaner, I then ran CCleaner to clear any remaining registry entries. I went to the official site and downloaded the driver exactly as I did after the fresh OS install and then rebooted windows. upon booting back in I get the driver box which searches for dri'ves in the bottom task bar but it fails with the error:
Multimedia Audio Controller - No Driver Found.
I went into Device Manager to find an exclamation mark on the Multimedia Audio Controller so I tried to update the driver through there by browsing to my temp directory and selecting the correct driver.
This then throws up the error details:
Windows encountered the problem installing the driver
    Creative X-FI Audio Processor (WDM)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
I have tried searching again, re-seating the card, clearing CMOS etc etc and the Creative website finds the card installed through autoupdate and brings up a list of the Driver and Programs to install but this error happens everytime. I had this problem a few months back and ended up re-installing Windows to fix it but I just can't be bothered with that anymore.
Does anyone know a way to fix this error?
    Cheers.

I tried installing the daniel_k drivers that worked before but now no matter what i do i keep getting this ****ing error(w8.1)

  • X-fi Xtreme Audio - Can't access/install mode switcher

I've been trying to access the touted 'Audio Creation Mode' for its bit-matched playback and sound quality, however I don't have any of the fancy creative driver programs - instead I have a standard Windows 7 menu, with 8 tabs. (I'll try to get screens if it comes to it).
I double checked my drivers, I am on V .04.0090, however upon attempting to install 'Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Pack .04.0079' , I recieve the error 'Driver Version is not found', preventing me from installing the mode switcher and audio console...
Stumped on how to fix this,? thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

Well thanks, but in that case I'm confused by why the post the audio pack alongside the Xtreme Audio in the download section... surely it was meant to be compatible if placed there?

  • Sound very distorted at bootup with Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio

I have a new HP Pavilion Elite e9180t PC with a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card, an OEM card offered by HP.  On two occasions, only two, so far, when the system is done booting the sound is distorted and it buzzes and hisses periodically.  Upon reboot it is fine.
I have no idea what is going on and am concerned that this is a system of a pending failure.  Is there something I can check?
    Thanks.

I have this exact same system with the exact same problems.  I called HP and got a woman who insisted it was all in my head.  She didn't say that, but she continuted to tell me that unless she personally heard the problem herself, she could not help me.  I told her it didn't happen all the time but usually at bootup and about every 6 hours or so as I was playing games throughout the day.  I am a computer professional also, which should be noted, and I have worked tier 3 support for many years so I know how much knowledge a tier 1 support person has, which is what she was.  I couldn't understand much of what she said due to the accent, which made it even more frustrating.  Additionally, she remotely got on my system and clicked a bunch of things that made absolutely no sense whatsoever to the resolution of the problem.  It seemed to me that she was trying to portray herself as "fixing" the problem so that I would agree it was now fixed and move one without her having to send me a new sound card, as I suggested.  She asked me the same questions over and over "so what exactly are you hearing?" and "How often does this occur?".  After the 4th time my frustration really began to show.  Especially after "I'm afraid I have to conclude that there is not a problem with your soundcard if I cannot hear it." and "the diagnostics say the sound card is fine so it must be your speakers" even though I have swapped out the speakers several times and it also occurs on the headphones.  Additionally, I bought TWO identical systems, one for me and one for my husband and his does not have the same problem.  She tried to tell me that our parts were not identical, even though I opened both computers and I will tell you they certainly ARE identical.  She is now calling me in exactly 6 hours because I told her that the issue occurs every 6 hours or so -- clearly she does not understand that that was an estimate of how often it occurs, not an exact timeline.  I am really frustrated.  She also told me there were no other complaints for this issue and now I find this forum.  I also found a similar forum on the creative website.  hmmmm.  That tells me she was lying.  She refused to let me speak to anyone else, also.  Where are the award winning service and support technicians in all of this??  I mean, I work with HP from a business perspective all the time and I get better service.  I am extremely frustrated.

  • PROBLEMS Foxconn G965 chipset WITH Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal

    Hello every body.

With the install process you dont have problem, and with music... but when you go to play the EAX effects doesnt work properly (metalic noise), at least it fault down.
With other motherboards there is no problem. Of course I have tried everything, (drivers, thanche the pci slot, another games... GRAW, Battlefield 242, Call of duty etc... It doesnt work.
Then I tried with my old Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, and the same problem with old drivers. I download this november drivers and then it works fine.
The sound is similer (less voices but similar, good sound), but I havent got the night mode sound level that let me play during the night without making noise (gun, explosions etc sound very loud).
Some one knows where can I get a modified driver that runs with chipset G965?

I had to switch from game mode to entertainment mode using the Creative Console Launder software applet. Once I made the change all fi've speakers are working, I would prefer that they all work in game mode but for now until I can find a better solution this will have too work for now. I hope this helps for you.

  • Creative Labs sent me the email announcing that the X-Fi Xtreme Audio works withVista!

Why settle for basic, built-in sound? The ad asks.Wow look at all the specs...Speaker and Headphone connections for stereo to 7.Line In / Microphone In / Digital Out / Digital I/O / Auxiliary Line level Input?Wait a minute...this is the card I already have that I can only get drivers that makes me settle for basic sound. Better yet... I pulled it out and went back to my on board soudcard so I could get most the stuff that I am supposed to have with the X-Fi. This is what they offer for drivers for this card...Provides basic audio support and control options for sampling rate and speakers only. Looks to me that Creative is trying to dupe the public into buying products that is currently inferior.

Well, this is the newest driver that pulls up from?the model number of the one in the ad. Doesn't look certified to me and it only supplies basic functionality. Very misleading ad.

  • X-Fi Xtreme Audio - I/O Module - "Mono" in "Bit-Matched playback" mode

I use the X-Fi Xtreme Audio on my PC workstation. The soundcard is connected to my active speakers, and to this it is working perfectly. But, my problem is this: I also want to use my PC to media purposes, Video playback, music playback from one room to the next. I baught the Digital I/O module, and connected my Denon Sound reciever to the Coax output. In the Creative Console Launcher, I switch to "Enable Bit-Matched Playback". It's working, but - the signal is in mono. What is wrong?

Hi?I had the same problem, and here is the solution. ) Make sure u download the latest drivers for Vista. 2) After the installation u can goto the Control Panel> Sound Settings? You will see that there is 2devices listed. st is the Speakers configuration2nd there is the SPDIF configuration. Alter first the Speakers configuration to ur needs, enable the Digital out! > make sure u never select a frequency above 48khzAlter the SPDIF settings and test the sample rates that is given on the screen sothat u know what works with the card and not. If there are any problems leave the settings i gave exactly as instructed, and then goto urAudio Console and check there is a headphone settings and disable them. Try again thereafter!?Good Luck!Marvin?IT & Audio Specialist

  • 24 bit 96 kHz on Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio so

I have a Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card.According to data sheets it has 24 bit 96 kHz recording and output. When I set recording options in Adobe Audition .5 to
    Sample rate to 96kHz
    Stereo
    32 bit float
In the Edit View down left it says "recording as 6 bit"
If I change to 44. kHz it says "recording as 24 bit"?Someone told me that I the HW does not support 24 bit (32 bit float) but is compatible to 24 bit, i.e. it samples at 6 bit but provides internal data that is 24bit. The same somone told me that I needed a E-Mu 0404 card to get true 24 bit(32 bit float) and 96 kHz resolution. Can anyone from the technical support tell if this is the case or not.

  • Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio: Many issues I have been faci

Hello everyone. This is my first post at these forums, with the hopes of getting my issues resolved once and for all.
First and foremost, let me inform you that I have very high experience with computer hardware.
A couple weeks ago, I bought a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card from a local retailer. (Yes, I am aware that this is not an actual X-Fi card with the designated chip). I previously had an onboard sound solution on my motherboard, and uninstalled and removed all of the drivers COMPLETELY before I installed my new sound card. I then opened up my case, and continued with the installation of the card. After I had downloaded and installed all of the latest drivers, I immediately started to notice issues with the card. My MAIN problem is that if I have a specific application open, whatever it may be, one of my headphones, either left or right, will stop producing sound, and then is followed by the second one, which leaves me with no sound output at all. If I restart the application, the problem is temporarily fixed, but then comes back again within a few minutes.
This is VERY irritating to me, seeing as I originally thought the problem was not with the sound card. Believe it or not, I reinstalled my copy of windows over 5 times throughout the course of the last few weeks in hopes of finally fixing the issue. And here I am, on a brand new installation of windows, and the problem STILL persists.
I can assure you all of my hardware is functioning correctly as I have tried 2 other sound cards which have not had any issues like this whatsoever.
Yes, I have read the FAQ, but I couldn't seem to find the solution to my issue there, which is why I am posting it here. Sorry if I sound irritated, but this has bothered me very much and I have been starting to lose a lot of hope in Creative...
    Thanks in advance.
