Credit Memo - Terms of Payment Default

My earlier post received no response, so I am posting again,
In MIRO if I create a credit Memo, payment terms default from PO. (not from vendor master) I do not know if was configured that way. How can I find out ?
I do not want payment terms to default from any thing, neither PO nor vendor master.
It should fall due immediately say based on base line date, which is posting date in our case.
How can I do this ?
Thanks

    Hi,
The payment terms maintained in vendor master is K102.
    2% disc. 10 days
    0    dics   30 days
We raised vendor invoice via MIRO and it populate K102 as terms.   Later on we raised Credit Memo via MIRO also [baseline is 02.09.2008]...the terms populated is still K102.
When we cleared the CM,  the clearing date is 07.10.2008...we noticed that the CM still deducts 2% discount eventhough it is morethan 10 days from the baseline date of CM vs clearing date.
Why is it so?  Does the CM will auto deduct 2% and no validation on the days?  Is it true that this is logical to deduct 2% because during AP invoice is you deduc

    Hi,
But there's no way to maintain CREDIT MEMO terms in vendor via purchasing MKO3/MK02.
You can only maintain credit memo terms in FI via FK02.
    Please help further.

    Hi
Credit Memo Field you have made the change right.
You can do the changes in two places. Like at Vendor Master Data Level and AP level field status.
You have mentioned first is required then you hv changed into opitonal ? are you sure whether you hv mentioned optional or suppressed.
Please check your change once again.
    Accordingly i will help you.

  • Clear only part of credit memo in a payment run?

    Hi Experts,
My customer needs the functionality to only use part of a credit memo in a payment run.
    Example:
    Invoice of 10.000 USD
Credit memo of 1.000 USD, wants to activate 500 USD
    Payment should be on 10.000 - 500 = 9.500 USD.
How can I use and clear 500 USD from the 1.000 USD credit memo?

  • Credit memo - Blocked for payment  in MM

    Hi,
i created a purchase order (ME21N) with 10 quantity and 100 for price for a total amount of 1000 u20AC.
After i create the corresponding invoice but with 10 quantity and 2000 u20AC for total amount, of course the status is Blocked for price reason.
So i call my vendor, and he send me a credit memo for 1000 u20AC. Now when i catch on the credit memo in reference to the invoice the system block also this document, perfectly but is there a workflow standard to manage this process ? i would like to deblock this credit memo.
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers

    Hi,
In your case try to run the trasaction and find the business object associated for credit memo. The process is as follows.
The SWELS is event trace and this is used to find the business Object and event triggered when a trasaction is executed.
Example: i want to know what is the Business object and event triggered when a sales order is created. In this case i will switch on the event trace and run va01 and create a sales order. Now i again go to swels and switch of the event trace.
Now go to display event trace(swel), here you can find bus2032 and event created. so this business object and event can be used to trigger your workflow.
Once you are able to find the business object. Open swo1 t-code and enter the business object and click on where used list. you wil find all the Workflows assigned to that business object. if ther is any standard workflow you can directly use it else you can develop the a custom workflow.

  • Credit memo payment term

    hi,
in customer master, what is credit memo payment term?
what is the difference between credit memo payment term and terms of payment.
i read from F1 but still can't get it.
    thanks
    rgds

    HI
In customer master we define a payment terms as well as Credit memo payment terms.
Like suppose we have for Customer with Payment term = Net 30 days (Z001)
And for the same customer we have defined Credit memo terms = Pay Immediately (Z005).
When we post an Invoice for this customer it will have Payment terms as Z001 i.e. net 30.
Whereas when we post a credit memo for the above invoice it will inherit the new payment terms from Customer master that is, Z005 i.e. due Immediately.
Credit memo payment terms can be same as payment term or different depending on the business requirement.

  • Create payment batches for credit memos

    Hi,
I want to create payment batch to pay several credit memos.
When I issue "Select invoices" and "Build payments" processes, it does not select any of credit memos.
I try to add manually the credit memos on "Modify payment batch" window, but after selecting the first credit memo it displays the message:
"You cannot create a negative mount payment.".
Please help me how to create payment batches for credit memos.
    Thank you.

    Hi Manish,
    I am using 11i version.
Actually I followed the advices on this note, but still the same problem, the payment batch does not allow credit memos (as they are with negative amount), even when adding them manually.
Please help me to find where is the problem.
    Thank you.

  • Credit memo - Basline date is incorrect

    Hi, All
During posting a credit memo (using transaction MIRO), the basline date is calculated regarding the vendor's payment terms and not immediatly.
Is there any way to define credit memo as payable immediatly and not taking into account the days according to the payment terms.
    Thanks in advance,
    gabi

    Hi,Dillibabu and Rajesh
First of all, thank you for your quick reply.
I am looking for an overall system solution and not on a master data level.
I can change the baseline date during posting the crediy memo (transaction MIRO)'
but then again it solves only this particular document.
I want to define credit memo as payable immediatly regardless to the vendor payment terms. just like the FI Logic procedures - In FI procedures (FB65) Terms of payment were not proposed with a Credit memo and the payment is calculated immediatly,
I would like to impement consisitent behaviour with the FI, therfore by using
Transaction MIRO for credit memo , the payment will be calculated
immediatly regargdless to the vendor payment terms.
    Best Regards,
    Gabi

  • F110 - Exclude Credit Memos from original Invoice

    Good afternoon,
Our go live was 1 month ago.
We have prepared automatic payment process and everything works perfectly. Mainly, we base our process in the Payment Method Supplement field. Some payment methods group documents following different rules (restricted to 7 rows or as many as request).
Our problem is that our customer does not want credit memos to be included never there (payment terms are taken from original invoice and when they pay the invoice, this credit is included). They want to identify ALWAYS what they are paying fulfilling the Payment Method Supplement field.
Is there any chance not include the credit memo in these payments? For example, not copying Payment Method Supplement from the original invoice? any other idea? Please let me know. Regards,
    Javier

    Hi Renfe Proyecto Auge ,
You can exclude Credit memos in Additional Fields there you have to select Excluded and from hidden field select document radio button and from the list select Document Type (BKPF-BLART),
after this you have to choose Document type credit memo what ever you maintained for Credit memo, accordingly system will exclude the values from Automatic Payment Run.

  • Invoice / Credit Memo / Sub Credit/Subs debit

    Dear experts ,
I want to differentiate the following :
    1. Invoice document
    2. Credit Memo document
    3. Subsequent credit document
    4. Subsequent debit document
Is it possible to have a different document type for each of the above
while enetering an invoice /credit memo etc , in payment tab i have an option of selecting the document type.
    BUT
I want this to be defaulted by the system based on the activity .
HOW CAN THIS BE DONE ????
    Regards
    Anis

    Dear Anis,
Subsequent Debits/Credits are used in cases where the quantity is in the original invoice is to remain the same.
    Example:
    PO 10 - $10
    GR 10 - $10
    LIV 10 - $11 (Logistics Invoice Verification)
The vendor invoice is more than that in the Purchase Order. In order to correct, the Vendor may send in another invoice for the Increased amount or a credit memo for the reduce amount.
If you approve of the price increase, post the subsequent invoice received as a Subsequent Debit Invoice.
If it is a credit memo that has been received for reducing $1 of invoice price, then post the credit memo as Subsequent Credit.
This would retain the quantity but reduce the amount.
Subsequent Debit/Credit is for the case when the credit is not for the full amount eg. if the Vendor decided to credit & only the $1 overcharged.
Credit memo is for the credit of the full amount and value.
++ You can configure the default document type for MIRO using transaction OMR4

Debit note and Credit note?  What is the purpose?  How we create?
    1. A transaction that reduces Amounts Receivable from a customer is a credit memo. For eg. The customer could return damaged goods.  A debit memo is a transaction that reduces Amounts Payable  to a vendor because, you send damaged goods back to your vendor.
    2. Credit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request a credit memo for a customer. If the price calculated for the customer is too high, for example, because the wrong scale prices were used or a discount was forgotten, you can create a credit memo request. The credit memo request is blocked for further processing so that it can be checked. If the request is approved, you can remove the block. The system uses the credit memo request to create a credit memo.
You can use credit memos in Sales and Distribution (SD) for assigning credit memo requests to the open invoices and in Financial Accounting (FI) for assigning  credit memos and payments to the open invoices and carry out clearing with them.  If you use both Financial Accounting (FI) and Sales and Distribution (SD),  there is a 1:1 relationship between the credit memo request and the credit memo item posted in Financial Accounting (FI). As soon as you bill the credit memo request together with other sales orders, or distribute the items of one credit memo request to several billing documents, the assignment is no longer valid and the system will not process it.
For  credit memos, credit memo requests, and payments, you have the following assignment options:
    - Assignment to a single invoice
    - Assignment of a partial amount to an invoice
    - Assignment to several invoices
When you post  credit memos, the payment programme processes them automatically. If the credit memo is specifically related to a particular open invoice item, the payment program automatically attempts to offset the credit memo against the open item. If it is not possible to completely offset the credit memo against an invoice, you can post a debit memo to the vendor, who is to reimburse the amount.  Then you can apply a multilevel dunning program.
    3.  Debit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request a debit memo for a customer. If the prices calculated for the customer were too low, for example, calculated with the wrong scaled prices, you can create a debit memo request. The debit memo request can be blocked so that it can be checked. When it has been approved, you can remove the block. It is  like a standard order. The system uses the debit memo request to create a debit memo.
    4.  As mentioned above, creating a credit or debit memo request enables you to create credit or debit memos based on a complaint. For this first create a sales document with the order type for a credit or debit memo  request. You can create the debit  or credit memo requests in the following ways:
    – Without reference to an order
    – With reference to an existing order
Here you enter which order the complaint refers to.
    – With reference to an invoice
Here you enter which invoice the complaint refers to.
In all cases, you specify the value or quantity that should be in the credit or debit memo
    5. You can block the credit or debit memo  request from being billed in Customizing. Go to Sales -> Sales Documents -> Sales document header -> Define sales document type and select the billing block field in the billing section.  This request can later be reviewed along with similar ones, - if necessary, by another department. The request for a credit or debit memo  can then be approved or rejected.
