Credit memo - Basline date is incorrect

Hi, All
During posting a credit memo (using transaction MIRO), the basline date is calculated regarding the vendor's payment terms and not immediatly.
Is there any way to define credit memo as payable immediatly and not taking into account the days according to the payment terms.
Thanks in advance,
gabi

Hi,Dillibabu and Rajesh
First of all, thank you for your quick reply.
I am looking for an overall system solution and not on a master data level.
I can change the baseline date during posting the crediy memo (transaction MIRO)'
but then again it solves only this particular document.
I want to define credit memo as payable immediatly regardless to the vendor payment terms. just like the FI Logic procedures - In FI procedures (FB65) Terms of payment were not proposed with a Credit memo and the payment is calculated immediatly,
I would like to impement consisitent behaviour with the FI, therfore by using
Transaction MIRO for credit memo , the payment will be calculated
immediatly regargdless to the vendor payment terms.
Best Regards,
Gabi

  • Credit memo related Data not reflected in  BCT Query

    Hi Experts ,
If anyone can help me .
Problem : I have loaded data in 0SD_C03 for sales analysis. Everything is alright and all data except Credit Memo related data are showing . During the selection in query the C/D posting + Doc Categ + Net Value forms the output value for Credit memo but it is not showing . The SD doc categ has credit memo records in VBFA table . Now i don't understand why data related to Credit memo is not retrieved in the query . I am using the standard queries and std BCT objects only .If anyone have come across please share your experience .

Check in your Cube fact table whether you have entries with document category O - for credit memo
If not, ensure cube has the data and your query do not have any exclusion filter dor document category O. Check in PSA also, if not there your extractor is excluding the credit memo records

  • A/R Credit Memo Gross Profit calculated incorrectly

My client created an A/R Credit Memo by opening an A/R Invoice and copying to the A/R Credit Memo.  They deleted all the rows in the credit memo, changed the type to Service, typed a description, added the correct G/L account, and entered the total amount.  The controller of the company looked at the Sales Analysis for the Business Partner by clicking on the graphic icon on the BP form.  He noticed the Gross Profit for the above credit memo showed the exact gross profit as the original invoice from which it was copied, except the value was negative.  The original gross profit was -$73,777 so the Sales Analysis report was significantly incorrect.  I think this is a bug in how the gross profit was calculated on the credit memo.  Am I correct?

    Gordon,
I totally agree with you.  I told them to not do this any more.
I was just wondering if maybe the calculation should be been performed using the final numbers on the Credit Memo instead of using numbers from the original invoice.  Should I raise this issue to SAP?

  • Due date calculation for the credit memo with invoice reference.

    Hi,
When we create the credit memo with reference to invoice, the due date for the credit memo is getting copied from Invoice. In this case if the invoice is due on 31.12.2008 and the credit memo is created on 10.09.2009, then the credit memo due date is appearing as 31.12.2008. It should be 10.09.2009 as per the setting in VOFA billing type customisation in "Credit Memo w/vldt".
I would like to know how to customise the below requirement.
If the reference invoice is due after the credit memo creation, the the credit memo should due as per the invoice date.
If the invoice due is past & then the credit memo due date should be Immediate i.e. Due Immediately.
    Thanks in advance for help.
    Regards,
    Nithin

I doubt there is such option. From the past projects I do remember that we made a change in the form to print the document date as 'Due Date' for credit memos. Credit memos were paid at once when they were processed and I think that payment term was copied from the original invoice, which made their due date far in future.

  • DUE DATE FOR CREDIT MEMO

    Hello,
I have a question about credit memo -due date.
Using MIR7, MIRO for credit memo  the due date for net payment is the same with baseline date.
    e.g. document date:18/07/2007
    posting date:18/07/2007
baseline date:18/07/2007                         terms of payment are 30 days
the system issue due date : 18/07/2007 but correct is 18/08/2007
What can I do to calculate due date correct for credit memo ? (baseline date + terms of payment) ?
    Thanks.

    Hello
Check the settings in "Terms of Payment"
Check what you have checked in "base line date calculation', I think you need to enter 1 in the box additional months.
Next in the default date setting, check if you ticked "posting date "

  • Brazil - Withholding tax in A/R credit memos / notes

    Hi all,
We have implemented a proto-type of SAP ERP in Brazil to check out the taxes and in particularly the withholding taxes (WHT). We now have a test customer and test vendor for which withholding taxes have been activated and as a result, a withholding tax windows pops up while making a manual entry in FB01. The result of 4 test cases is as follows:
    1) Manual entry A/P invoice => WHT data can be entered in pop-up window => OK
    2) Manual entry A/P credit note => WHT data can be entered in pop-up window => OK
    3) Manual entry A/R invoice => WHT data can be entered in pop-up window => OK
    4) Manual entry A/R credit note => Pop-up window does not appear so WHT data can NOT be entered => not OK
I am puzzled why the WHT pop-up window does not show for case 4. I must be able to post a credit memo in case an incorrect outgoing invoice was originally posted in the external system according to the following workflow:
    1) Outgoing A/R invoice is issued including WHT with doc.number 123456
    2) More invoices to other customers are issued with doc. numbers 123457 and 123458
    3) We now find that the invoice 1) was incorrect so want to issue a credit note with the orignal (WHT) values whereby the credit note receives doc.number 123459
    4) Now we re-issue the corrected invoice including WHT with doc.number 123460
Within SAP, I could use FB08 of course for the reversal, but this won't work in the situation above where my document number is provided by the external system.
Does anyone have experiences with WHT in Brazil and is our customising incorrect or is anyone aware of a common business practise why the WHT pop-up window does not appear for the outgoing A/R credit note.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    René

    Hi Rene,
I'm facing the same problem with the Withholding Tax in Mexico regarding A/R Credti Memos not being able to be posted. You mentioned that a posting key was the solution, could you please explain to me in more detail how does this posting key solution works?
I have reviewed all of the configuration and nothing seems to work.
    Thanks a lot in advance!

  • Quantity zero in credit memo

    Dears Experts,
I have the following question / problem.
I am creating a credit memo request with reference to a invoice, but in the credit memo request I need to have the quantity in zero because the credit memo is created for incorrect pricing (it is no a return) but the system brings the quantity from the invoice.
This is incorrect. I need to have zero quantity in the credit memo request independently that the invoice that I am using as reference has quantity.
I suspects that there is something in the copy control to controls this but I don’t find it.
I Hill reward if it is helpful.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
You can correct the price using Invoice Correction Request(RK)
RK sales document used in complaints processing to correct the quantity or price of one or more items in an invoice.
The invoice correction request is the same as the differential credit memo in the SAP R/2 System.
You can create an invoice correction request if the wrong prices have been calculated for the customer. The invoice correction request can be automatically blocked by the system so that it can be checked.
The system calculates the difference between the amount that was originally calculated and the corrected amount for each item.
Once it has been approved, you can remove the block. If the difference in amounts is positive, the system creates a credit memo with reference to the credit memo request. If it is negative, the system creates a debit memo.
An invoice correction request is a type of sales order, like the standard order. For more information on sales documents, see Working With Sales Documents
An invoice correction request has the following structure:
    Header
This contains the data that is relevant for the whole invoice correction request, e.g. sold-to party and payer.
    Item pairs
Two items are automatically created for each item from the invoice to be copied for the invoice correction request:
    first item: credit item
    second item: debit item
These contain the same value and quantity.
In the credit item, the system credits the customer with the full value. If you change the debit item (for example, due to new pricing or a change in quantities), this results in a difference amount.
In the standard system, the invoice correction request is characterized as a credit memo request, which means that the system creates a credit memo based on the invoice correction request.
In Customizing you can change this so that the invoice correction request is characterized as a debit memo request. In this case, the system creates a debit memo, based on the invoice correction request.
Regardless of whether the invoice correction request is a credit or debit memo, the first item is always a credit item and the second is a debit item.
You can change these settings in Customizing under Sales ® S ales Documents ® Sales document header ® Define sales document types in the Sales document categ. field.
    Integration
You create invoice correction requests with reference to an invoice.
The system creates either a credit or a debit memo according to the total value of the invoice correction request.
    Regards
    Ramesh

  • A/r credit memo for tax only

    Hello,
I need to do an a/r credit memo for sales tax only.  Reason: customer was charged sales tax when he should have been exempt.
Problem: I need this credit and tax amount to show up on my Tax Report under Financials, Financial Reports, Accounting, Tax, Tax Report so I am not overpaying our taxes (I'm running the report using the By Tax Code tab).  This report only pulls tax amounts from the variables area in the lower right of an credit memo or invoice and is dependent upon an dollar amount item being listed in the line items of the credit or invoice.  Plus, I also need the sales dollar amount that relates to this tax to show in the Total Amount column on the tax report as this column is used for our gross sales that are reported to the state.  But I can't put an item with a dollar amt on the credit memo as it will mess up the total dollar amt of the credit memo, plus will reflect incorrectly on sales analysis reports.
How can I do an a/r credit memo for sales tax only that will reflect correctly on this report?
    Thanks for your help,
    Shelby

If you are using SBO 2007, you could create a Tax type row and achieve this.  If it is 2005 then you would have to probably do a JE.

Thanks Rahul, the document_lines have the tax code and total alright, I believe probably it has to do with some tax configuration or something, but still I dont know which one may and if this is the real cause. What do you think??
    Gordon,
thanks for letting me know, I will post it as a question.

  • Cancel invoice document(Credit Memo) - Reg.

    Dear Experts,
I am trying to cancel Invoice document(Credit Memo) through MR8M transaction. While processing, system is issuing error message (M8 534) as Balance not Zero: & debits : & Credits. But being its saying in initial screen of MR8M, i dont know where to change the amount.
Please help me out to cancel credit memo. Thanks in advance..
    Regards,
    Kumar

Other way around to cancel an invoice is to issue credit memo, In MIRO click credit memo, then date, then reference to PO, put in the amount then hit post, your invoice will be cancelled by issuing credit memo
MR8M also issues credit memo, by cancelling the invoice, and so does MIRO when you create credit memo against PO, the invoice is reversed

  • Third Party Credit Memo.

    Hi Friends,
When we receive a credit Memo from the Third Party for say defective goods then this can be directly sent to the Customer as a credit Memo ( Credit Note). The Billing type here is G2S and The Item category is TASG.
Now my question is when we create G2S then to which document does it take reference from? Will it be from the Invoice F2 raised to the customer or from the Sales order OR of the customer. When I create a G2S with reference to the order OR after the Invoice F2 has been raised, the system throws up an error stating that this document has been completely Invoiced.
Please let me know how do I solve this issue.
    Nagesh Murthy.

    Hi Nagesh,
In any credit memo scenario, always enable the creation of Credit Memo Request and then Credit memo. When the credit memo request is to be created, make sure that it is always created with reference to the invoice document only and not reference to the sales order, as the objective of Credit memo is to correct the prices in the invoice document. This will help you in various scenarios like exchange rate where the value of sales order and the value of invoice can be different in the local currency due to ex.rate fluctuations.
As credit memo takes care of incorrect prices, having a document flow of credit memo request with reference to sales order is incorrect.
With reference to the error message, it is a valid message as an invoice has been created with reference to the order. You should not create a credit memo with reference to a sales order(OR), for credit memo, u shd use a credit memo request only as the reference.
Hence the flow for your question is
    Sales order>Invoice>Credit Memo req-->Credit Memo
OR>F2>G2W(Confirm with others on the doc type)-->G2S
Pls lemme know if you need further clarifications in this topic.

  • How to change Net Due Date in case of Credit Memo..

    Hi Experts,
In our system currently when we create credit memo using tcode FB75 system makes the invoive due immediately.
We wanted to make this net due date dependent on payment terms given by us. Please let me know how can I achieve this..
Please let me know if there is any user exit there or the configration path to achieve this...
    Regards,
    Vidya

This is a standard SAP functionality. Usually a credit memo is referenced to an invoice and if you don't have a reference to an invoice SAP would consider that credit memo as due immediatly.
If you have an invoice to be referenced to this credit memo enter the invoice number in the invoice reference field in FB75 > payment tab and then enter the payment term. If you don't have an invoice reference enter V  in the invoice reference field and then the payment term, system will calculate net due date based on payment term.
