CRM 2005 - Contentserver

Hi there,
I have just a short question. Currently I'm working with MySAP SRM, but my backround is CRM. Now we implement the CRM 2005 and use it due to the SAP Portal.
I'm a bit confused due to the attachment management.
Is it possible to up- and download attachments in the CRM 2005, and if so, wich role plays the contentserver? How can I use and configure it right.
In the SRM we have a special Service called <docserver>, is there a similar funktion in the CRM?
Thanks for your help and informatione.
Kind Regards
Christian

Yes, there is such a functionality. It's called Conten Server. You can go to SICF t-code and run it.

  • EP 6.0 connection to CRM 2005

    Dear Sirs,
I have some question about the consequences of an upgrade
to CRM 2005. Does anyone know how if this will affect the portal requirements?
We are currently running Enterprise Portal NW04 WAS 6.40 to connect to a CRM system 3.1.
We are also running an Internet shop (B2B, http://host:50000/b2b/b2b/init.do) on an ISA server in connection with CRM 3.1. We conntect to using the portal par, com.sap.pct.crm.customerPowerBuy.par, part of Business Package for CRM 3.1. The help pages describe this component; (in CRM 5.0) http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/8c/b4c1dde011654282734e30b81c4bd3/frameset.htm
Will we be able to use this par file to connect to the CRM 5.0 version of the Internet Shop? Or will we be able to back port the (the similar par file) in new business package to EP6.0?
Is there any other limitations connection EP6 to CRM 2005, e.g the low level communcication does not work, the system object is different.
Any experiences running EP6.0 with CRM 2005, would be highly interessting.
PS: I am aware of this thread /community [original link is broken]=110892&messageID=1235908#1235908 but I did not feel the answer gave enough details on why, and on my specific component.

    Thank you James,
but as you already see, I have included a link to this help page in my posting, and to the specific component in question.
Allthough the the master guide and upgrade guide states that EP NW2004s is a requirement the help page which I refer to (for the CRM 5.0) states the following.
Available for Portal (Release) SAP EP 6.0
I feel this is a big contradiction, and confuses me.

  • Upgrade to CRM 2005 while keeping EP 6.0

    Dear Sirs,
I have some question about the consequences of an upgrade to CRM 2005. Does anyone know how if this will affect the portal requirements? I work primarily with portals, and have little knowledge of CRM. Please feel free to give any input surrounding this matter.
We are currently running Enterprise Portal NW04 WAS 6.40 to connect to a CRM system 3.1.
Primarily we use the portal to run a set of BSP applications (some “home-made” and some not) running on CRM 3.1. My personal believe is that an upgrade to CRM 5.0, will not affect the portal as the applications will still be BSP applications. A BSP is a BSP no matter platform? But how easy will the migration of the homemade content be.  Is the upgrade from CRM 3.5 to CRM 5.0 regarded as a major upgrade, so that we can expect that a lot of things will have to be changed? Or is the backward-compability  good so it should be a fairly easy migration.
We are also running an Internet shop (B2B, http://host:50000/b2b/b2b/init.do) on CRM 3.1, which we conntect to using the portal par, com.sap.pct.crm.customerPowerBuy.par, part of Business Package for CRM 3.1. The help pages describe this component;, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/8c/b4c1dde011654282734e30b81c4bd3/frameset.htm Does anyone have experience migrating this functionality from CRM 3.1 to CRM 2005. Any problems ahead? (any problems using EP 6.0 here as well?)
Any other experiences or confirmations of people using EP6.0 in conjunction with CRM 2005, would be of great help and highly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Jørgen Ruud

The reason for all these questions is that I'm going to be upgrading from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. I'd like to just install Photoshop CS5 and try it out, then order the upgrade to complete the install later. I'm concerned about an upgrade not being appropriate (1) and a need to install Photoshop CS3 completely and then run the update to CS5. If I have to do that, I may just install CS3 after my Windows upgrade.osted.
The upgrade process is really quite straightforward these days - even on a new box which has never previously had Adobe software installed.
Upgrades are as good as full versions once installed. When installing upgrades, all that matters is that you have a serial number to an earlier qualifying version handy - Adobe has given up tracing this all the way back to your full version which could be up to 20 years ago. Upgrade serial numbers can only be verified by serial numbers up to 3 versions back anyway so Photoshop CS does not qualify for a CS5 upgrade.
There's no need to install older versions on a new computer before installing the CS5 upgrade version. It's actually the full code on the disk regardless of whether you purchased a full version or an upgrade - the serial number tells the installer if you've bought an upgrade or full version license.
When you enter your upgrade serial number for CS5, the installer will ask you to enter an earlier qualifying serial number (full or upgrade does not matter). I've successfully completed this exact scenario myself several times.
The only caveat to the above is that there is a world of difference in licensing terms (and serial numbers) between a suite and a standalone version. If you install a CS5 suite trial then want to keep just the Photoshop component (and enter its serial number), you'll have to uninstall the entire suite first then install the upgrade version of standalone Photoshop CS5. Then enter your CS5 serial number then verify by entering your CS3 serial number.

Download sw for your platform in both liks:

    - SAP NETWEAVER 2004S -> Installation and Upgrade
Go to service.sap.com/pam to have the product availability matrix, and got to service.sap.com/sizing to check the hw requirements.

  • Replication of masterdata from CRM 2005 to ECC and using filter

    Hi all.
My client have a certain account group configurated in crm.  business partners for this account are automatically entered in the CRM system via upload. This business partners should NOT be replicated to ECC.
I thought this was a peace of cake so i enterd a filter for table but000 and found the correct field group_bu  for object bupa_main.  I am very surprized because this filter do not work at all.  Then i tried to set filter on partnernumber but no success.  the business partner was replicated and i got an red light in smw02.
Is  more config neccessary somewhere to get my filter to work ??

  • Info about CRM 2005s SPS 08

Can anyone help me with understanding CRM 5.0 in conjunction with SPS 08. What are the different SPS levels available or is this what is enough for CRM 5.0 if we want to integrate with Portals 2004s
    Thanks in advance
    Guest 01

I had to look at the service marketplace, but it appears that support stack 8 is the highest level for CRM 5.0 right now.  CRM 5.0 is a 2004s based system, so there should be no issues integrating your CRM 5.0 system with a 2004s portal.  I have actually installed the CRM 4.0 business package in 2004s portal without much issue.
So the general rule is that as long as your CRM system is current and your portal is current you should have no major problems.
    Take care,
    Stephen

    Hi,
you are running you system as dbo.
remove profile parameter dbs/mss/schema from DEFAULT.PFL
also remove MSSQL_SCHEMA from environment variable of your sidadm and SAPServiceSID users.
Check that it is removed by using the SAP MMC, right-mouseclick on the application server and choose All Tasks -> View Environment.
If necessary, remove value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\<SID>\Environment\MSSQL_SCHEMA from the registry.

  • SAP CRM - no confidence in UI by SAP?

After reading this blog and looking at the article attached to the blog.  I had an interesting question:
Can Rich Internet Applications finally be accepted as a credible application development platform for SAP?
Does SAP have any confidence in its own CRM software?  Right now SAP is touting how easy to use the new version of SAP CRM is, and yet this article implies they don't use their own product's user interface.
Now I know the eSOA mantra says this shouldn't matter, but I would say this is one of those cases where it doesn't.  If the vendor won't/can't use their own CRM software because the UI is too ugly/clumsy or other reason, why should I as a customer.
As a customer I don't want to purchase a CRM software and then have to purchase a better UI to go on top of the software.  I might as well spend the money on software that might have a better UI perceived by my sales folks(think siebel, salesforce.com, sugarcm, etc), and spend those dollars on integration instead.  It's a lot cheaper to do integration work, than completely rewrite the UI to meet my users needs.
I'm also wondering why SAP would even send this message by displaying this article on SDN? I'm sure if the guys at oracle saw this article, we would see a press release from that says something of the like:
"Even SAP acknowledges, that SAP CRM is too difficult to use".
I bring this up because we are selling use of SAP CRM 2007 in house right now, and it makes it harder for me to sell the solution to my business users, if there are conflicting messages on the market.
    Take care,
    Stephen

    > Wow, you almost have the "nightmare" scenario when it comes to maintenance.  I just have to ask what functional areas (high level) did you implement?  Was it the marketing module?
    I can tell you...
We were using Mobiles Sales with activities, campaigns, sales documents and master data and we switched that to CRM 2005 and Portal (+ adding BI reporting functionality with BI-CRM content). For the Java part there's enough said (by me) already, I won't start again with that (mess). The CRM looked pretty well at first sight but devil's in the detail.
    > The marketing module in CRM 40 was so unstable on SP08 that basically we ditched the application and wrote something custom in the SAP GUI instead.  Any t-code that had over 400 related notes(segment builder) is just a nightmare not to mention just plain bugs in the PCUI that we weren't willing to wait a month for fixes.
Well.. people have always be VERY helpful, especially the guys and girls in India were doing a very good job at fixing bugs - once the communication was done via email and not via phone...;) But you're right - it's taking sometimes too much time to get a fix and yet-another-note.
    > I still think the SAP GUI sometimes beats the web based interfaces, once you learn how to use it.  The problem was that everyone got obessed with zero-client installations and forgot about the benefits of "specialized" clients.  Now everyone is basically trying to make a web browser work like a desktop client, which puts you back full circle.
Everyone THINKS it's zero installation but in fact you have to configure proxy exceptions, add/install certificates, enable/disable Javascript things, add trusted sites, (re-)configure firewalls on Laptops, delete browser caches, install SVG viewer and other "plugins", install and maintain security fixes for the browser etc. etc. and this on a distributed environment where our sales reps are spread over the whole world in different time zones. So the "zero-installation" is nothing but marketing flowery because the maintenance you needed to put into Mobile Sales is now needed for the browser - nice antagonism
    > In would have been interesting to see how well SAP would have fared if they had made the mistake of making the original R/3 application 2-tier instead of a 3-tier client/server.
It's been like that @ R/2 times and I must tell you I loved the green screens (http://www.sapdesignguild.org/resources/images_hist/R2-0.GIF and http://www.sapdesignguild.org/resources/images_hist/SCREENO1.GIF)

    Kumar,
On <a href="http://service.sap.com/instguides">SAP Service Marketplace</a>, under <i>mySAP Business Suite Solutions --> mySAP CRM --> mySAP CRM 2005 --> CRM Core and Standalone Components</i>, you will find the cookbook.
Also take note of the guide on ERMS. This will probably part of your IC WebClient project.

    Hi all,
Can anyone please send me IC Web Client Cookbook for CRM 5.0. I have the Cook book for 4.0 but there are few things that have been changed in the new release.
    Thanks,
    Preethi

The IC Web Client Cookbook is available here:
    <a href="https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000647974&">CRM Documentation</a>
Follow the heirarchy to SAP CRM -> SAP CRM 2005 ->  CRM Core and Standalone Components
The document is called  Interaction Center (IC) WebClient Consultants Cookbook
I trust this will reduce the need for people to ask for this document to be emailed to them.
You will need a service place log in to access this document but if you are working on a client you should be able to get this access via your administrators.

  • CRM 4.0 alerts in CRM 2007

We had configured a number of alerts in CRM 4.0.  We have recently upgrade our system to CRM 2007 and these alerts no longer work in the CRM 2007 web IC.  is there a conversion process or do these need to be recreated from scratch?  Any documentation on this topic?
I look forward to your response on this issue.
    Regards
    Eddie

    Hello Eddie,
Yes, in general alerts, interactive scripts, navlinks, and other items need to be recreated in when moving from CRM 2005 (or lower) to CRM 2006s/CRM 2007 or higher. In the case of the alerts, the old XML based alerts (used in CRM 4.0) and the newer IMG configuration based alerts (CRM 5.0) are both replaced by a new BSP-based tool called the Alert Editor -- which is available in the IC Manager busines role. The new alerts use the new target ID navigation concept, which is part of the reason the old alerts don't work anymore (for alerts which contain navigation links).
    Warm regards,
    John

  • CRM support pack queries

    Hello Support,
I have CRM 2005 in my landscape. It has the following patch level.
for ABAP stack it is at Stack 8
for JAVA stak it is at Stack 4.
And we are going for both (ABAP and JAVA) to STACK 15 which is latest.
    I have the following query
1.) Can i directlly upgrade the JAVA stack from 4 to 15. Since i guess the present stack is too low.
Will we face any issue in doing so. What is the general practise?.
2.) For the ABAP stack , can i put the whole stack from 9 to 15 in the queue at a time or do one stack at a time.
    Example
first upgrade it to 9 then 10 and so on
or directly in one queue to 15, so that we can have only one SPDD and SPAU.
3.) what is the main SNOTE for the CRM support pack.
4.) What all pre-requisite are ther perticulary for the CRM support packs.
    Regards
    Anthony

    Hi mohit ,
    Thanks for the reply ..
Yes , i will try convicing the client for going to latest -1 patches.
Now you have suggest that we must go for the ABAP to first SP12 and then to the latest -1.
I have the following query regarding this.
1.) How should i go to SP12 stack.
a.) by directly adding all the stacks till 12 in one go. (that is starting the queue from stack 8 to 12 ).
b.) going one stack at a time (i.e first will bring it to stack 9 then 10 then 11 and then 12)
c.) going component wise ( eg , first the BASIS till 12 , then the ABAP , then BW and so on.)
