CRM - BI Connectivity

Hi There,
I am trying to configure BI in CRM 7.0 system. Could you guys please let me know how to use BI functionality in CRM & also the what configurations should be done for this.
Thanks,
Rakesh

Using the <RFC_DESTINATION>_DIALOG Destination
The RFC destination we discussed is used for data extraction. The user IDs
involved should be set up as system users. A system user ID cannot log on
to a system via a normal GUI screen. The user ID is only for background
communication. These user IDs are used exclusively for data extraction processes.
Data extraction, however, is only one of the processes that may require
communication between BI and another system. For other system-to-system
communication processes in BI, there is another RFC destination defined: the
<RFC_DESTINATION>_DIALOG destination.
One of the features of BI reporting that relies on system-to-system communication
is Query Drill-Through (also referred to as jump targets). With Query
Drill-Through, the reporting user can select a line on a BI query result and jump to
other queries in BI, or even to other reports or transactions in mySAP ERP.
For example, the user may run a BI query showing key figures by material. If
configured properly, the user could select a particular material on the report and
then ask to jump to mySAP ERP and display the material master record. In this
case, BI has to be able to communicate with mySAP ERP in order to log on and
execute the transaction code to display the material master record.
Another case where the <RFC_DESTINATION>_DIALOG destination is
required involves the monitoring of the data extracted from the source systems.
The BI administrator can do this from the BI system.
Status indicators from the extraction process are stored in IDOC format. In
the BI Monitoring screen, there is an OLTP button. This will connect the BI
administrator to mySAP ERP so that the administrator can monitor the IDOCS
on that system. Whenever the SAP BW administrator selects OLTP, the RFC
destination <RFC_DESTINATION>_DIALOG is invoked.
The following figure depicts the screen from the monitor function where this
RFC destination is being used.
When setting up the RFC destination <RFC_DESTINATION>_DIALOG, you
have some choices regarding the user ID specified:
. Force the user to always log on to mySAP ERP after selecting OLTP by
leaving the User field blank in <RFC_DESTINATION>_DIALOG.
. Create a generic user in mySAP ERP with access to monitor IDOCS; use this
user in the <RFC_DESTINATION>_DIALOG destination.
. In the RFC destination, select Current User. This will use the current BI
user's user ID to log them on to mySAP ERP.
You must decide how you want the BI user to log on to mySAP ERP from BI
to perform the requested task, whether that is jumping from report to report or
monitoring the IDOCS generated with data extraction.
If you use Current User, the system tries to use the same user ID in BI and mySAP
ERP. If this is successful, the BI user can work in mySAP ERP with the usual
access rights. If the user ID does not exist in mySAP ERP, then the user will be
prompted for a user ID and password.

I am trying to further restrict my standard role that we use for the CRM-ISU connection. I have everything working except I have to add a seperate S_TCODE object with I* in order for the connection from CRM to ISU to work. Does anyone know which specific "I" transactions this would be using? Considering there are 9,204 of them, I would just leave it with an asterisk but mgmt wants it more restricted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks Andy

    Hi Bala,
Which version of CRM are you using? There are some notes for CUST_HIERARCHY BDoc errors. Please have a look at them in the Support Portal.
CRM_BUPA_MAIN_VAL is used for validation of rules set in CRM Server and maybe you dont have the same mandatory rules in MSA.

    Hello Prajith,
The SAP CRM system with the CRM Middleware and CRM Applications forms the core of CRM System Landscape. The CRM Server can run as a stand-alone solution or with various back-end systems. If SAP ECC is the backend system, only a plug-in(PI_BASIS) is needed to handle the data exchange with the SAP CRM Server.
CRM Server can be connected to non R/3 Back-end through SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol ),  XML, ASCII adapter, BW system, SAP R/3 Back-end through the R/3 adapter.
Other systems may be other ERP systems on non-SAP vendors. While many systems are linked to a CRM Server, they may not always use CRM Middleware functionality. The BW e.g. extracts data from a CRM Server u201Cpassingu201D this data u201Cbyu201D the CRM Middleware, which means it does not use BDocu2019s. The APO System is accessed via qRFC and BAPI calls from a CRM Server, also without the help of CRM Middleware.
    Hope that helps.

  • Getting predefined XI content in CRM for connection to CM

    Hello,
we are trying to connect our credit management system with several other systems. According to SAP-Help predefined XI content exists for certain interfaces (e.g. CreditCommitmentNotification). We need to use this interface for two connections. For the FI-CA system everything is there. You can import the SWC FI-CA_XI and you have the necessary message interface in XI-repository and also the ABAP Proxy Classes are already implemented in the FI-CA System. So there you can configure the scenario to send the CreditCommitmentNotification to XI.
For CRM ABAP-Help says that there is the same message interface provided. It is needed to install Add On CRMIS 400. So we did that. But in CRM there are no proxy classes like in FI-CA and if you import SWC CRMIS 400 to the integration repository it is an empty SWC.
    Did we miss anything?
Do we have to download and import content into XI repository server? Where do I find this? Is in  XI CONTENT BBPCRM 4.0 the required data to import? Is there any overview for which Components predefined XI content exists   and which SLD-SWCs containing predefined XI content fit for certain versions of Add-Ons, Plug-Ins, Modules.
    Any helpful hints,
    (I already searched SAP-Help, service.sap.com/ibc, service.sap.com/swdc)

  • CRM Middleware Connection

    Hi together,
last week i tried to connect a CRM System to a R/3 System, to change business partner data.
I see in the outbound queue that there is a queue with entries. After activating the queue it seems that everything goes the correct way. But when i look into the R/3 System nothing happened. Neither in the business partner nor in the inbound queue.
    The RFC Connection works.
Can someone help me what could be the reason for that and what can i do?
    Best regards
    Philip

    Hi Philip,
SAP CRM and SAP ERP are two seperate systems with two different concept. So, you have to understand the concepts a little bit so that you can independently handle this error.
I am assuming that the SAP CRM and SAP ERP systems are connected properly. A RFC connection is established between the same.
    CRM Side
    1. Execute the Tcode SMOEAC. The administration console will open up. Here look for R/3 Sites. There you will get the RFC Connection. Also you can see all the Subscriptions that are assigned for the site. Check the Subscription 'All Business Partner Relationships (MSEG)' and 'All Business Partner (MSEG)' are there.
    2. To check for the RFC Connection, execute the Tcode: SM59. Here check for Type 3 connection, which will tell you the Remote ABAP machine to which it is connected. Then navigate to that and check the Connection as it's working fine or not.
    3. In CRM, whenever you create a BP, you have to assign it some role. The Role should have a Classification Tab and which will tell you how it will flow to the ERP side. Only a certain Roles are mapped and will flow to ERP in the predefined role.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/52/cff837a9aae651e10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
In the ERP Side, you have the concept of Account Group.
There execute the Tcode PIDE. This is the place which will tell you about the Flow of the BP. There are some classification assigned against each Account Group. Check for the Classification B ( Customer ) and keep a note of the Account Group.
Now, in the Customization, you can go to the Account Group settings. Once you open that account Group, you will see the grouped section. On Double Click, you will see each individual items. Navigate to each individual item and there you can see which are mandatory once. So you need to keep a note of all these items as you need to fill these parameters in BP creation. Once these are filled, then only the BP will flow, else it will give an Error.
Just refer to the following links for a detailed info.

  • CRM Middleware connectivity

    Hi,
We have CRM & R/3 landscape, each have client 300-golden client, 400-unit testing, 500-Devlopment, 550-converion testing clients.
My question- As data is client dependent, do I have to setup Middleware for each client separately or some Middleware configurations are client independent & some are client dependent? If I have to setup separately, how do I?
    thanks,
    LSP

Unfortuantely the answer is you only get one middleware connection per instance.  That means you will need to only create one client on the CRM side and it should point back to a client on the R/3 side that is considered the client with the best data.
The reason behind this is the following:
    1.  CRM Middleware setup requires you to download customizing data from an R/3 environment
    2.  CRM Middleware only supports one active connection between an R/3 instance and CRM instance
    3.  For Middleware development you need a client that contains both "configuration" and the actual data.
Your best practice for CRM is a single client, that points to a the client in development that has the best data-set representative of production.
This has been the standard since I have been working on the product since 2.0C.  The landscape that I support has our CRM Development client pointed to the R/3 Unit Testing Client(we have multiple R/3 clients also).  Gold clients on a CRM system just don't make sense at all.
    Good luck,
    Stephen

    Hi Anil,
By reading the error message, it looks like that you have a CRM plugin which is firing this error message, in which case you would either have to update your source data to accommodate this particular requirement or otherwise you may have to re-engineer
your CRM plugin code to relax this particular constraint.

  • Status determination in CRM order connected with delivery in R/3

    Hi Experts,
I need to determine status "completed" in CRM order always when a delivery took place in R/3.
Of course this is no problem, when all positions were delivered. But in R/3 we do have only one delivery per order and a Badi determines the order "completed". This global status is not transfered to CRM.
So I am thinging of doing the same in CRM, implementing a BADI that determines status "completed" in the moment the order has a delivery.
Can anybody help me to find the correct BADI and Methode to do so?
    Thanks,
    Cristina

    Hi Cristina,
basically it's the same case as mine with the difference you have to read another status type in STATUS TAB.
In my case requirement was to read invoice status and cover quantity if the invoice status was completed.
In your case you have to read delivery status and change the overall status of CRM order according to your delivery status.
    I suggest using two BADIs:
    <b>CRM_ORDER_FIELDCHECK</b>
    <b>METHOD if_ex_crm_order_fieldcheck~fieldcheck</b>
    or <b>ORDER_SAVE
    method IF_EX_ORDER_SAVE~PREPARE</b>.
Basically in both cases you have to call FM <b>CRM_ORDER_CHANGE_STATUS_GET</b>
to read your delivery status. (I suggest testing in SE37 to check the reading of your status).
Once there write your code concerning the overall status.
In my case the final code in badi CRM_ORDER_FIELDCHECK was:
       CALL FUNCTION 'CRM_ORDER_CHANGE_STATUS_GET'
          EXPORTING
           iv_ref_guid                  = wa_fieldcheck-ref_guid
           iv_ref_kind                  = 'B'
         IMPORTING
           et_change_status_ord_i       = t_status_i_tab
           es_change_status_ord_i       = i_status_i
           et_return                    = i_return
         EXCEPTIONS
           parameter_error              = 1
           inconsistent_data            = 2
           no_return_values             = 3
           OTHERS                       = 4.
        IF sy-subrc <> 0.
        ELSE.
    CHECK i_status_i-invoice_status = 'C'.
    LOOP AT ct_input_field_names INTO i_fields_names_tab.
            check i_fieldS_names_tab-fieldname = 'QUANTITY'.
            i_fields_names_tab-changeable = 'A'.
            MODIFY ct_input_field_names FROM i_fields_names_tab.
          ENDLOOP.
        ENDIF.

  • RFC connection - SAP CRM to SAP R/3

    Hello all,
We have a requirement in the project, where client is already using SAP R/3 ERP system, and is going for CRM for e-commerce. Now as they have most of the development already done in R/3, they want to use some Function Module or say Report Program already developed in R/3 to be used in CRM system.
Please tell, if this thing is possible via RFC connection, and if yes, then how can we go about doing it? It is a critical requirement.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rohit Khetarpal

In transaction sm59 define an rfc destination in CRM that connects back to R/3.
You most likely already have one for bdocs etc. You can use this one or create one specific to your task.
Create an RFC user in R/3 that will have sufficent authorization to run your remote enabled function modules in R/3. Assign the user to your new CRM rfc destination in sm59 if you've created a new rfc destination.
Make sure the remote enabled check box in your R/3 function modlule attributes are ticked.
In your CRM program call the R/3 function module with the name of the rfc destination you created, as below.
    call function ' my_r3_function_module_name' destination 'the_rfc_destination_name'.
You will need to add in the fm interface manually, i.e. importing, exporting, etc.

  • Connecting MDM to CRM

    Hi all,
has anyone tried to connect the MDM directly to SAP CRM? I know that the CRM normally gets its master data from an R/3 but lets pretend its a standalone CRM. Data can be sent MDM -> XI -> IDOC, but CRM does not use any MATMAS IDoc. Is the only way to get that data into CRM by creating an IDOC and the related functions in CRM or is there an "easy way" around that, like an IDoc in CRM that only has to be mapped against a MATMAS-type IDoc?
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
first of all CRM does not make use of IDocs. Instead it has its own middleware layer using the so called BDocs, which are used for communication with R/3.
For CRM 4.0 there is some standard XI Content and the according Proxies you can use. You can download it from http://service.sap.com/swdc --> Support Packages and Patches --> SAP Content --> Process Integration Content (XI Content) --> XI CONTENT BBPCRM --> XI CONTENT BBPCRM 4.0.
Import this contetn to XI, then open SPROXY in your CRM, if CRM is connected to XI you'll see all XI components including BBPCRM there. This component contains a proxy ProductSetIn and ProductSetOut as already explained by Lars. Use this to transfer material data.
    Best regards

  • Connecting multiple CRM systems to one backend R/3 and vice versa

    Hello experts
Can you tell me whether it is advisable to connect 2 CRM systems to a single backend R/3 and vice versa? Is it recommended by SAP? I require some notes or docs on this. I got some notes on this forum but they are all Internal ones which I am unable to see.
    Please help!
    Warm Regards
    Debolina

    Hi,
Though SAP does not recommend connecting multiple systems to one ECC backend. But still it has designed a procedure to achieve this.
Here is the excerpts of the steps required.
    1. Execute report MCRM_SETTINGS for each CRM system connected to the ERP
    system.
    2. Check the entries of the table CRMRFCPAR of the connected ERP system:
The field REM_LOGSYS should be filled for every entry marked with
    u2018Created by the MCRM reportu2019.
    3. Activate the corresponding consumers in the table CRMCONSUM
    (transaction SM30).
    4. Internal and external number ranges for Business Partners have to be aligned
    manually.
    Hope it helps you!!!!
    Good Luck.

  • Connect CRM multiple clients to ECC

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I have one Question regarding CRM->ECC connectivity.
Will it be possible to connect multiple clients of CRM to ECC ? Like more than one client can talk to ECC ?
Because in BW we can not connect multiple clients to source system ! does this true with CRM also or not ?
    Thank you

    1) As datasources are client independent so do we need to activate the datasources (like 2lis*) in all clients one by one? or just activating in one client will make it ?
You need to activate the datasources individually for all the client. If you will activate in one client, it will be specific to that only
) If we replicate the datasources for new clients in BW side and then want to reload the data from New clients (set-up tables filling and INIT)?would it have an affect on existing deltas (for datasources 2lis*)for existing Source client 100? What shud be the precautions? How we can proceed? Please let us know your opinons plz
If you will replicate in one client system, it wont affect delta and init from other client.
One thing you can do, to identify data from different source systems, you can use source system compounding in your infoobjects. Make sure you are not loading data from both the client at the same time. it may lock the DSO and master data.

  • Connection to MS CRM Online?

is it possible to connect to microsoft dynamics crm online so I can create crystal reports out of there? Thanks!
    Denny

    Hello Denny,
    Please follow this information...
Microsoft's dynamics CRM online supports the CRM fetch protocol (XML based)
If we are to use Crystal Reports, we need support for this connector to be built into Crystal Reports.
This is the response from SAP support to this request:
"We do not have standard support for this proprietary connection type, BUT it looks like it can be quite straightforward to create a web service based on the fetch method and this can in turn be fed into Crystal Reports with its ability to consume XML and web services.
I suggest you post the request for support for Dynamics Online and the CRM Fetch connection type on our Idea Place at cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/community/ideas. We already have such support for salesforce.com; so, it has been done before and there seems to be a need in the market for support for Dynamics Online as well."
Look into this:  Is it possible to create crystal reports in mscrm 2011
