CRM - Getting components of installed base from quotation

I am new to SAP CRM so this might sound like a silly question but i am stuck on it.
I want to find out all the components of all the installed base in a quotation.
I have the header GUIID.
Can someone please let me know how I can read the components of the installed base attached to all the items in a quotation from the Header GUIID.

I was able to figure it out myself

  • How to create an Installed base from the sales order

    Dear Friends,
could any one let me know the process of creating an Installed base with the below process.
Once a sales order is created in SD, an istalled base need to be created in CRM system with reference to sales order.
There are around 50 final products and approximately 2000(BOM)components for each product exists. but the client wants to maintain only few components
like 100 to 200 components in Installed base.
In CRM system, can we maintain Installed base Template with that 100 or 200 components. If yes, how do we assign the Individual objects(Serial numbers) to each component.
    Regards,
    Ven

    Hi Ajay
    there can be two possibilities
Option 1. Create Install base in CRM while creating Sales order in ECC using RFC CRM_IBASE_CREATE. Make some reference  of sales order in the Ibase. later when you move equipments to CRM then you can attach these equipments to Ibase (Already created in Thru RFC)in Badi CRM_EQUI_LOAD(This BAdi is called while moving equipments from ECC to CRM).
Option 2. Don't create Ibase at the creation of Sales order. but while creating Equipment just add some indiacator in the equipment to know which sale sorder this equipments belongs.
and once these equipments moves to CRM. Using the BADI CRM_EQUI_LOAD you can club all the equipments(of same sales order) under one ibase.

  • How do you update installed base from crm Product Hierarcy

does anyone know the steps to update an ibase from crm product hierarchy?   Can the data from the product Hierarchy be replicated to the install base via config?
    any help would be appreciated????

    Hi Shannon,
no, it's a free update. The procedure goes like this:
    1. BACKUP!!!
    2. Unplug all peripherals but your original Apple keyboard and mouse
    3. Repair permissions before and after an update! (click the link and read it!)
    4. Download and apply the Mac OS X Update 10.3.9 (Combo)
    5. After the restart repair permissions again.
Do NOT use the computer during the update!!!

  • Where can I get an eMac install DVD from?

I've just been given an eMac that was destined for the skip. It came with no install DVD's and the administrator password is unknown. Whoever cleaned it out before parting company with it put in an administrators name as "apple" but didn't clear the password which is asked for in order to make changes & take over the computer. I wanted it as a spare & to play old games on that I can't bear to part with since getting my MacBook Pro intel i5 laptop (now updated with OS 10.7 Lion on it.)  I've done a bit of research to  try to find how to 'hack' into the system and change the administrator password but it seems I need the install disk to do a clean install again. As this eMac is running Mac OS 10.4 I should be able to wirelessly connect it to my established system once I gain control of it & use it as storage/back up etc.  I'd be grateful for any suggestions of either where I can get a disk from or how to change the root password.  Is there anyone out there who can help? I'm not a very techy pro though have had macs for many years so know my way around one fairly well.  Thanks

It will be difficult to find the original Install/Restore disc, and then it may have an OS lower than Tiger 10.4
Here's severtal methods to reset the password without the install disc:
    1. boot computer and hold the "apple" key and the "s" key.
    2. wait for terminal show
    3. release keys
    4. type without the quotes: "/sbin/mount -uaw"
    5. press enter
    6. type without the quotes: "rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
    7. press enter
    8. type without the quotes: "reboot"
    9. press enter
This will let you create a new admin account when you reboot your computer.
Also, without the discs, look at Mac OS X Tip - No Password, No Root, No CD? No Problem.
    http://www.macobserver.com/tip/2003/06/16.1.shtml
Here is a way to get around not knowing the admin password on Macs.
To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
       1. Reboot
       2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
       3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
              * mount -uw /
              * rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
              * shutdown -h now
       4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you’re good to go again!
     Cheers, Tom

  • Get "Updates were installed" date from computers

    Hi,
When I go to the control panel and select windows updates, I can see the section that shows when updates were last installed. How can I access the area of the computer that is supplying that date to this view via powershell?

    Here:
    $key='HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\Results\Install'
    (Get-ItemProperty $key).LastSuccessTime
You can find more examples in the "Repository".
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Strategy/Value of Installed Base Hierarchies?

Hi - We are converting several thousand R/3 4x equipment master records into a new solution that will have both ECC6 and CRM 6.0 Service (as well as BI). We intend to load the equipment records in ECC and have them create ibases in CRM.
We've learned that you can create installed base hierarchies in CRM by assigning entire installed bases as components of other installed bases.  We understand it can be done but also believe our business would have to bear the cost of creating and maintaining these hierarchies manually.
We've considered perhaps doing it only for important value customers or for other reasons but we are just not sure that the value of manually creating and maintaining IB hierarchies would outweigh the maintenance cost.
We were thinking that perhaps the hierarchy would be visible in analytical processing and could perhaps be used in customer level cost to serve analysis.
Have any of you developed Ibase strategies that included hierarchy development and can you share realities and outcomes?
Thanks in advance for your input, Roberto

    Hi,
I think Installed base cannot be used in SALES scenario, hence even if you extend the sales quotation transaction type with service relevant business transaction category you cannot see the object tab in header and nor in item if you assign the item object type in ITEM CATEGORY.
Alternate solution is that you create a CUSTOMER FIELD with EEWB at header or item level in SALES QOUTATION TRANSACTION TYPE and link it with F4 help of installed base IBIB table and relevant Installed base tables in CRM.
Hope this helps. Please award Points if helpful

  • Installed Base replication

    Hi Experts,
I would like to replicate an Installed Base from R3 to CRM.
I 've already read the documentation under SPRO->CRM->Master Data->Installed Base->Replication of Equipment from ECC Customer Service but it did not help me.
I've also activated the standard implementation CRM_EQUI_LOAD_STDIMP but nothing: in particular, when I start the initial download from t-code R3AS of the object "EQUIPMENT", after few seconds, the load status goes to "Abort".
    Can somebady help me?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards,
    Stefano

    Hi,
    thank you for the replay.
    Here my answers:
    - I don't get any BDocs errors in SMW01;
    - there are failed entries neither in SMQ1 nor SMQ2 in CRM;
    - no dump in transaction ST22;
Do you have any other suggestions?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards,

    Hi ,
How i can find install base from table level based on
    1. Sold to party
    2. Ship to party
    Thanks ,

    Hi,
Check whether you have entered proper BP Guid in the FM Structure I_PARTNER-->Field PARTNER_NO.
    Or try using FM:CRM_IBASE_PARTNER_SEARCH

  • Installed bases and service contracts

    Hi,
    Is it possible that:
    1. There are multiple installed bases from the same customer being covered in a SINGLE service contract document (i,e, referencing mulitple I-base objects) for the same type of service.
Example : 100 installations for the same customer being covered for the 3 free services per year through a SINGLE contract document
    2. Is there a functionality where by all the installed bases for a given customer can be seen location wise under a single tree structure ?
    Thanks,
    Dhaval.

    Hi Dhaval,
It is possible to do this.
    1. You could add all the objects under the object list assignment block in the contract item. So, here you specify that the service item is available as part of the contract for a set of objects.
    2. In this case, you could create the customer's installed base as the root and add all the installed bases under that customer in a hierarchy, while maintaining the Ibase master data. Else, you could search for Installed Base using the search criteria "Header Using Partner Data". But, this does not show a single tree structure.
    Hope this helps.

  • BP mandatory in Installed base?

    Dear all,
We are assigning BP to the installed base from this path
Select installed base --> Go to --> partner
Now i want to make mandatory to assignig BP and address to Installed base.
    How can i do?
    Regards
    Jayesh

    Hi Jayesh,
To make Partner Mandatory you can go to following customizing and assign you partner determination procedure. In partner determination procedure you can specify what are the manadatory partner required. This would also take care of addresses.
Customer Relationship Management>Master Data>Installed Base>Installed Base Category>Assign Partner Determination Procedure to Installed Base Category

My hard drive fried and had to be replaced. I'm trying to install CS4 from my original discs but keep getting this error message - "One or more of the required components of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard failed to install correctly". A customer service rep gave me a link to download off the Adobe site, but when I try to open the file to run it, I get this error message - "A problem occurred extracting the archive".
    Can anyone help?

Yep.  Nothing happens at all. Windows tries to execute the uninstaller, but I don't get any other screen and all activity stops for the MSI.  I monitored it in Process Monitor and the MSI executable appears, but is quickly ended, like it couldn't find anything or something.
It's as if windows has a blank entry in Programs and Features, because it used to show the size of the Adobe application in the "Size" column.  Now it's just blank.  Link to screenshot below:
    http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/5006/screenshotcaf.jpg
Note the install date.  That's when I was able to successfully reinstall it.  Now I can't even do that.  I should also mention I tried Revo Uninstaller.  It deleted one small registry key, but nothing changed.
By the way, is the CS cleaner supposed to ask for a disc in the drive when you run it?  It refused to run unless I had one in it, so I used my install dvd.

    hi,
To get one service customer created one order in CRM system (say A) and this order is came down to our system(say B) and we send it further to another system(say c). we got ok response from system whome we send the order i.e. (C), so in our system (B)we close the order.
But unfortunately this order is failed in System C so we need to cancell this order. We cancelled the Order in system A but in our system(B) order is close so it is not possible to cancelled this order so we need to remove this item instance form install base.

  • Equipment hierarchy with Non serialized products to Installed base in CRM

    Hi,
I have just performed an equipment download from R/3 to CRM. I now have these records created as individual objects assigned to an installed base.
However my equipment record in R/3 has Serialized Products as well as non serialized products in form of BOM (bill of material).
Example: Equipment Hierarchy (In R/3 )
10123428  Main Equipment have 2 non serialized product
199-012100         (Non serialized product under this equipment)
270-012200         (Non serialized product under this equipment)
10123429         Subordinate equipment to main equipment
                                  (Serialized  product )
340-070800  (Non serialized product under this 2nd equipment)
270-562700  (Non serialized product under this 2 nd equipment)
The Main equipment(10123428) is created as installed base in CRM successfully.
The Subordinate Serialized product (10123429) to main equipment is created as individual object under this Installed base of the Main equipment properly.
But the non serialized products (199-012100,270-012200 ) for main equipment  and non serialized products (340-070800 ,270-562700)for the subordinate serialized product are not coming in CRM .
Because When I go to IB53 transaction there is no entry in the components in the product Tab under product id column.
Has anyone replicated R/3 equipment records with BOM structure into CRM and got their Non serialized products visible in the components of the Individual objects.
Any help would be most appreciated.
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Prabhakaran,
You can filter the data downloaded from R/3 to CRM based on the filter criteria assigned to adapter objects. You can do this via transaction R3AC1 wherein you specify the table and fields based on which you want to filter out the data.
For Serial Numbers and Equipments the business objects are SERIAL and EQUIPMENT respectively.
Reward with points if this helps.

  • Identification field in installed Base-CRM Service

We are creating installed base components from ECC to CRM ie, from equipments in CS module to installed base objects in CRM.
The serial number entered in ECC flows in to CRM Service in component details tab in individual obejct automatically.
equipments created in IE01 will flow to CRM and can be viewed in ib53.
We want to copy the serial number field to identification field to enable better search capabilities.

    HI Femke Visser
<b>A)</b> Assign the Object family to Install Base Category, Follow the Menu Path to assign
IMG->Customer Relationship Management ->Master Data ->Installed Base ->Individual Objects/ Object Family -> Assign Object family to Installed base Categories
<b>B)</b> Create the categories and hierarchies you require for your object families. At least one of these categories must be created within the base hierarchy for the product type Material and then assigned to the relevant object family.
    1) To create Category go to T.code COMM_HIERARCHY and <b>in the Tab "Category" you will find a field called "Object Family", choose the right Object family</b>
    2) In the Tab "Set Types" add the set types you want to include
Refer the link below, which will give some insight about the Set Types and Hierarchy and Categories
