Cross Form updates for searched record

Hi All
How to update a form fields which taking a searched value from another table .
I have a form that records student data and which has a drop down to select the 'student registration No' that comes from different table.
When insert or update a student record, first we select the student registration No from drop down to see if he is an existing student.
If he is already registered student then relevant student name and other details should be shown in the form and should be able to enter few other details as well.
Pls any one could help me on this

Delta update for deleted records

Hi,
I use delta update for my data. As destination I use ODS object and this ODS contains two keys: key1 and key2. On step of preparing data for extraction, key2 is lost(we can't determine it) - key1 is known only.
I'm finding a way how to update ODS by deleted records('D' update mode) if this records contain only key1 value(key2 is empty). I need to delete all records with key1 only, key2 is not important for this update.
Is it possible to set key2 some BW specific value, which will be accepted as equal for old key2 values ?
Or some other standart ways are known for this situation ?

I would use the update rules to read the active data table of the ODS. There you can read all the key2 values for a given key1.
If you get one row with key1 filled and key2 = '*' (for example you could split it into multiple records, one per key2. A sample coding might look like:
LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE into l_d_data_package.
IF key2 = '*'.
    DELETE DATA_PACKAGE.
    SELECT * FROM /BIC/AMY_ODS00 INTO l_d_my_ods
      WHERE key1 = l_d_data_package-key1.
      l_d_data_package-key2 = l_d_my_ods-key2.
      append l_d_data_package to DATA_PACKAGE.
    ENDSELECT.
ENDIF.

Is it recommendale to deactivate the automatic update of search plugins for a faster start of FF?

I read that one can deactivate the automatic update for search engines in the settings because there are very seldom such updates (e.g. lastly in early 2010 for Google). This would provide a faster start of FF.
I don't want to have overaged search plugins that might cause trouble, so my question is: Is it recommendable to do this?

Issue regarding 0MATERIAL_ATTR - Attribute not Updated for Some Materials

Hi All,
As per requirement, I had enhanced 0MATERIAL_ATTR DS with one customer field MRP Controller.
After enhancing 0MATERIAL_ATTR, I had made necessary changes in related objects like 0MATERIAL Info Object & related transformation for this new attribute.
After making changes, when I had done Repair full request for 0MATERIAL_ATTR, newly added attribute had not updated for all material, other attributes were updated correctly but MRP controller had not updated for some records.
I am confused with why attribute(MRP controller) updated in some Materials & for some materials its not updated.
I had checked in PSA, data for this added attribute is come in PSA but not updated in data target (0material).
I had also activated master data by running Attribute change run but still problem persist.

I had write code in CMOD for MRP controller.
As data is coming fine till PSA but its not updated in Data Target (0MATERIAL) .
if I take one example..
For exp Material XYZ has two entries in PSA table, one is updated during delta load & recent one which come though Repair Full request.
Now newly adder attribute MRP controller available in recent request of Repair Full but that is blank in case of prior delta update.
I am confused because MRP controller attribute is updated for some Material but for some material its remain blank.

NEED HELP!! creating a method to search records from a data.dat file

i am having a lot of trouble trying to create a method for searching records from a data.dat file as a contacts application i am using (for) and (if) together and getting the same error messages saying a ")" is needed when it doesn't and illegal start of expression can anyone help! on letting me know how you create search methods! thanks

Can Users have their unique Form Settings for the List of Items (Item Search)?

When any user add and remove columns for the List of Items (Item Search) via Form Settings, these changes are automatically updated for all SAP users.
Is there any way we that each user have their own unique List of Items form settings?
This is important as users for different departments will be need to see different information as they are searching for Item Master records.

This is not Possible.
Form Setting of Item Master Data will apply for all Users.
For all Users different Form Settings not Possible but you can guide your users to see while Searching Master Data.

Depending on how complex your view is, forms is not able to determine how to appropiately lock a record, when you try to update or delete a record.
One approach to using complex views in forms:
1. Set the Key-mode of the block to "Non-Updateable"
2. Mark the column which can be used to build the WHERE-condition to uniquely identify a record with "Primary Key" = "Yes"
3. For doing INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE, create an INSTEAD-OF-trigger on the view.
4. Create your own ON-LOCK-trigger in forms which does the locking of the records to update.

R 12.1.3).

This trigger shoud only for new record inserts so, I have used the condition, *:system.record_status = 'INSERT'* but this trigger is still firing during update of existing invoices, say when i wanna change terms for the AP invoice.
I couldnt figure out where the error is, if anyone has any idea, please help.

You can have one more condition like
0<(SELECT count(*) FROM ap_invoices_all WHERE invoice_num =:INV_SUM_FOLDER.INVOICE_NUM AND vendor_id = :INV_SUM_FOLDER.VENDOR_ID) AND :SYSTEM.RECORD_STATUS='INSERT'
AND
:INV_SUM_FOLDER.INVOICE_ID is null
because Invoice Id will be not not null for existing Invocies and for new invoices , it will be null.

Getting message for every record while pressing down arrow key:apps form

Hi,
when i query the form and when I am going through the records by pressing the down arrow of the keyboard I am getting the message 'Do you want to Save the records' for every record even though i did not update any record
How to avoid the message?
I developed the form in oracle applications and it is a master detail form which have a header block and lines block.

Creating Update and deleting Records Forms

Hi Guys
Hopefully some one can help me with this, I am using php and
mysql, I already have a page that shows all the records of
customers details, which I can navigate through the pages of
records.
I have created a update page, using the update wizard, which
works but only shows the first record. I have added a repeat region
and page navigation which allows me to choose individual records
but wont update those records.
I also took a look at a tutorial video that had you adding an
extra column and add the word update to add a hyperlink that took
you to the update form with that particular record for updating,
the video was using cold fusion the link was update page address
then this ?ID=#ID#, I tried different versions of this with no
success.
I also tried to alter the record set and added a filter using
Member_ID and = paramater URL, this made my cusomter detail page
stop working.
can some one help please

a Master
Detail Page Set for PHP (it's on the Insert > Data Objects
menu).
Creating an update page is very easy.
1. Create a page that lists all records in the database.
2. Alongside each record, create a link to the update page.
3. When creating the link, click the Parameters button inside
the Select
File dialog box.
4. In the Name field of the Parameters dialog box, type the

5. Click the lightning bolt icon to the right of the Value

Update Multiple DB records in one table with one form

I am developing an onine proofing system that will display a
number of images, and then allow the customer to approve each
image, as well as provide comments.
I currently have a table setup with the various elements (an
image that dynamically gets its name, details about the image, and
the neccessary form fields).

I would then apply a repeat region (the number of signs would
vary), and like to update all the records with the customer's
comments and approval with one form. How is this done? I have
downloaded a trial of the developers toolkit, but the documentation
is horrible. I would be willing to buy an extension that will allow
this, if one exists.

How to make the Tabular Form for Inserting records only?

I need to create a Tabular form page to use it to insert records only. I do not want to update or delete records. I want the user to fill some fields and then validate it and submit. Also, I need to add a field that shows the sum of a specific field of the added records.
