Crosstab Reports
Does APEX handle crosstab reports? If so, where can I get more information on creating?
Thanks,
Hello,
If you can turn it into SQL or PL/SQL then APEX can handle it.
There's some good information on AskTom about cross-tab queries -
http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:7086279412131
http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:3723109377222
If you're using 11g, things get a bit easier for you (although some disagree) with the PIVOT syntax etc.

Crosstab report with null or wrong totals
I have a crosstab report that when I put a field in an item report area and setting <all> for values I get null values and with other fields I get wrong results (less than I wait). If there's no report item, it's return the correct results.
I have checked the SQL and it not return any null value.
I believe that the crosstab try to aggragate and sum the null values of the empty cells in my crosstab.
Anyone knows how to fix it?
I'm using Discoverer 10g Desktop.can you send your xml data and template to [email protected]

Crystal Repts XI - Adding labels to summary fields in crosstab report
I have a crosstab report where
Columns
first-level are priority or non-priority schools
second-level are priority type
Rows
First-level: month
second-level: count of calls opened this month; sum of time spent; opened prior to reportstart and still open, closed this month
The row label for sum of time spent specifies that the time is in hours. However, our Curriculum and Instruction department wants each data cell in that row to include the abbreviation hrs. In other words, the row label would say Time spent on requests closed this month(hrs) and each cell would say 10.5 hrs 2 hrs, etc. Can anyone help with this?Thank you! This solved my problem. It took me awhile to find where I could change the currency sign to display on the right but once I did it worked like a charm (we're and educational system, we rarely get to report on money).
For others who don't know where to find this:
- right click the field and select Format Field
- on the Number tab of the format editor, select Display Currency Symbol
- click Customize
- click the Currency Symbol tab of the Custom Style Editor
- in the Position menu choose the selection with the currency symbol on the right
- in the Currency Symbol box type hrs.

In V 6.5 SP2 shading ever other row in crosstab report
Post Author: Theodore Van Patten
CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
I am having tremendous difficutly on a seemily simple request, and that is to shade ever other row in a crosstab report. Anyone have any ideas?
ThanksAnother alternative, if you dont want to use the Shared Content Store, is to have your PackageInstallationRoot pointing to a non-provisioned disk (non-PVS). In our environment we had the same exact issue. Each of our Citrix servers have
a D drive thats non-provisioned that we use for Logs. Once I pointed the PackageInstallationRoot over to this location everything started working. The key here is to have a script run at server startup that deletes the PackageInstallationRoot
since the provisioned non-persistent disk will reboot to a fresh image each time. This way you wont end up with stale content out there as applications are updated and/or removed.
There are other things that also have to happen for this to work in these types of environments (related to roaming profile exclusions) that I can provide to you if you need them.
Let me know if you want/need more details. -
Excel export of crosstab report in Discoverer desktop 9i not proper
Dear All,
I have made a crosstab report where I am taking the totals of the fig at all the datapoints. For this total, I have put the "Label" as &Value. When I run the report, it shows the correct output and correct values for the label field. But when I am exporting the report in excel, the label does not refresh for all the items properly. Instead it shows the Label for the very first set of data across all the itesm.
Can somebody pls tell me the reason behind this?

Need help in creating custom crosstab reports
Hello
I need some help in creating custom crosstab reports.
My current report shows the number of events that have occured over the time in a day
The events and the eventdetails are read from the database before being printed on the crosstab
i.e something like this.
Note : there are no events between 3:00-3:59,5:00-5:59;6:00-6:59,7:00-7:59 (not present in the database)
hence not displayed in the reports
*08/07/2009* 01:00 02:00 04:00 08:00 10:00*
Event X 1 1 4 1 3
Event Y 3 3 2 2 1
Total 4 4 6 3 4
So far so good...
Now i have to enhance my reporting application to include the event details which have not happened i.e to include the time details in the crosstab reports where no events have happened
08/07/2009 01:00 02:00 03:00 04:00 05:00 6:00 07:00 8:00 9:00 10:00
Event X 1 1 0 4 0 4 0 1 0 3
Event Y 3 3 0 2 0 2 0 2 0 1
Total 4 4 0 6 0 6 0 3 0 4
I have fell short of ideas this time around to implement such a thing
Any help in this direction is deeply appreciated

It seems that you are having issue with Crystal Report Design.
Post your question in [Crystal Report Design Forum|SAP Crystal Reports;

Calculating a difference between two columns in a crosstab report
I have a crosstab report showing # of sales by salesperson in each of 2 years and within each of 2 categories of salesperson (old vs new). I want to create a column showing the difference between sales in 2009 and 2010 within new salespersons and then a column showing the difference between 2009 and 2010 within old salespersons. I can't figure out how to pinpoint in the variable editor the column containing 2009 sales by new agents. Any advice?
You can hard-code the formulas like this:
=Sum([Sales]) Where ([Year] = 2009)
=Sum([Sales]) Where ([Year] = 2010)
Then the variance becomes:
=Sum([Sales]) Where ([Year] = 2010) - Sum([Sales]) Where ([Year] = 2009)
The challenge with this is the years are not dynamic, but I figure I will throw this out first and see if it gets you what you want to start with. -
Flexible crosstab report layout - Word template builder
I'm new to BI Publisher and learning new things every day. I'm now working on a complex template layout and I'm not even sure if it can be handled at this point. Looking for any advice someone can provide?
The layout is very similar to a crosstab report, but with some flexibility in terms of layout. Here's a brief description:
A1 G1
A2 G2
A3 B3 C3 D3 E3 F3 G3 G4
Cells A1 and A2 are static (text labels read from the XML)
Cells A3 - F3 are columns of the crosstab report. Column A and B always will appear, columns C - F may or may not appear (2 or 3 will appear - just don't know which ones)
Cells G1 - G2 - Data column headers - This is a repeating column for different data points. There may be 1 up to 20 columns. Only want to display 5 of these per table, since more will go off the page. The next columns should go to a new table
Cells G3 and G4 - These are the data points for the "crosstab". One is a min value / one is a max value for the specific row / column combination.
Right now, I've got the columns A3 - F3 generating correctly, but cells A1 and A2 do not shrink and take up the same space as all 6 columns would if columns A3 to F2 were to be displayed. I've got a for-each in A3 that ends in F3. I've also got a for-each in G1 - G2 to extend the repeating columns for the data points.
Is it possible to have cells A1 and A2 size differently based on how many columns are to be displayed between A3 and F3?
Is there a better layout than the one above to tackle the creation of this data table?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!Hi Vivek,
I have LabVIEW 8.5 Development version and the report generation tool kit. I will be writing VI to fill the data in and generate a word report with Up to 873 different tests. The template that I attached is the sample template for only one test, I will be doing 873 tests. The sample test template consists of scope shot and some measured parameters.
My situation - the VI that I will be writing will fill in the sample template that I attached for 873 times. For me to generate a word report for all tests, I would have to create a report template with 873 sample templates. Where there is a red box, I would have to create a field for each box so the LabVIEW will know where to put the data in.
Well, that is lot of work in the first place. Secondly, to keep up with 873 different permuation fields can create lot of unnecessary programming mess. Lastly, if the user decide to run only part of the test, then there would be lot of empty test templates. If user decide to run only 10 tests the final report will have 860 empty boxes. That is not efficient.
My goal is to create the word report using just one sample template rather than 873. I would like to copy the sample template based on number of tests user defines.
My question is- Is there any way to copy the sample test template that I attached using the report generation toolkit?

How to make crosstab report in crystal report
Hi all ,
I want to make a crosstab report in crystal report
my query is like this
select YearDate.year ,
(currentasset.currentaset / currentliability.currentliability ) as CurrentRatio
,(currentasset.currentaset - Inventory.Inventoryaset / currentliability.currentliability ) as QuickRatio
from
select distinct YEAR(JDT1.RefDate) as year from JDT1
)YearDate left join
select YEAR(JDT1.RefDate) as year,sum(JDT1.Debit - JDT1.Credit ) as currentaset from JDT1,OACT
where JDT1.Account = OACT.AcctCode
and OACT.AcctCode = '11'
group by YEAR(JDT1.RefDate)
)currentasset on YearDate.year = currentasset.year left join
select YEAR(JDT1.RefDate) as year,sum(JDT1.Debit - JDT1.Credit ) as Inventoryaset from JDT1,OACT
where JDT1.Account = OACT.AcctCode
and OACT.AcctCode = '11.05'
group by YEAR(JDT1.RefDate)
)Inventory on YearDate.year = Inventory.year left join
select YEAR(JDT1.RefDate) as year,sum(JDT1.Debit - JDT1.Credit ) as currentliability from JDT1,OACT
where JDT1.Account = OACT.AcctCode
and OACT.AcctCode = '21'
group by YEAR(JDT1.RefDate)
)currentliability on YearDate.year = currentliability.year left join
order by YearDate.year
So if i view the data in sql server it should be like this
Year CurrentRatio quickRatio
2006 501 100
2007 600 200
2008 700 300
2009 900 400
I want to make a crosstab with the column is year . the Year is dynamic according to the selection
So if i select the year from 2007 to 2009
It should be like this in report
2007 2008 2009
CurrentRatio 600 700 900
QuickRatio 200 300 400
How can i make it in Crystal report ?
I have use the template in crosstab crystal report, but there is not suitable.
Can i make manually. ?
Thanks in advance

KKHi kevin,
thanks for your respond . Actually, it's work.
But i have some issue again.
How can i make a grouping
So the grouping per Item
For example
2006 2007 2008
Group 1 Item A 5 6 7
Item B 7 8 9
Group 2 Item C 9 0 0
Item D 8 8 9
And another question, Is there always have row summary ? It seems that after the 2008 column, there is a total column, Can I remove this ?
Thanks in advance
regards
KK

Crstal Reports XI - Crosstab Report - Displaying Dates (Cashflow)
Hello
I was wondering if any one would be able to help me with an issue I'm having. I need to create a cashflow report at the moment I'm trying with a crosstab report (this may be the problem)!!
I need it to display in the following way. (you may not be able to see the layout), but basically months across the top ( as columns), opportunity description as rows, values then appear under dates.
Oct-11 Nov-11 Dec-11 Jan-12 ...............Sept-12
Opportunity Description 100.00
Opportunity Description 1 100.00
I have several formulas I have included the simpilest below, the problem I'm having is the year is not being taking into consideration and some of the values are display in the incorrect months.
eg. The report will run for a year, If my estimated date is Aug 2012 and I add 3 months to it, it should not display on my report (Nov-2012) but it wraps and appears in Nov-2011...
Case "One Off":
If (Month ({Sheet1_.Monthstart})=Month (DateAdd("m",3,{OPPORTUNITY.ESTIMATEDCLOSE}))) Then {@First_Year_Fees}
I think its because I'm not defining the date correctly and taking into account the year.
If anyone can solve this I would be very grateful or is there an alternative method other than using a crosstab...
Thannk you very much
SarahTry a date range parameter to select your data rather than a date in the middle of the year. If you are concerned that they not enter in exactly one year, you could test the date range with
not({?enddate}-{?startdate} = 365)
and give them a warning, you could even suppress everything except the warning that the date range must be one year.
Or use just a starting date parameter and use it as
date({field}) >= {?date} and date({field}) < {?date}+366 // adds 1 year
or just an end date. -
Crosstab Report in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3
Hi,
I am new to JDeveloper.
I am looking to develop an crosstab report in JDeveloper.
I have managed to get this working in Discoverer using a Discoverer Crosstab report, but I cannot seem to replicate this in JDeveloper
Previous versions seem to use the BI Beans functionality crosstab report, but I cannot find this in my version, I have been reading around and it doesn’t seem to be supported in v10.1.3.3.0.
Is there a way to create this in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Martin LeyWe don't have a crosstab component in 10.1.3 - there is one in 11.

Adding a dummy column for text in crosstab report
I created a report using crosstab to show trended months per column & details per row. Now I'm trying to add additional columns to the crosstab report to display other pertinent info (not calculations, just text pulling from the database). I read from various threads in the forum that I can create dummy columns to accomodate this, but I don't know how to do so. Can someone please guide me in doing so? If creating dummy columns is not a solution, please advice on what's the best way to add text columns to a crosstab report. Any help is truly appreciated. Thank you.
Original report:
Emp Name Jan Feb Mar Apr May Total
Doe, John 20 17 30 28 33 128
Wish to accomplish:
Emp Name Emp# Dept# Yrs Employed Jan Feb Mar Apr May Total
Doe, John 12345 6010 8 20 17 30 28 33 128Hi Fione,
I don't have access to CR at the moment but this is how I can think of doing this:
1) Create a Subreport that points to the same table as the Main Report
2) The Subreport should return the same number of Employees and in the same order as the Main Report - you can do this by creating a group on the Emp field just like the 'Row' in the Crosstab
3) Create separate array variables - one each for Emp#, Dep# etc that accumulates values for each employee and inserts it against an index of the array
4) Suppress all sections inside this subreport and place this Subreport on the Report Header of the Main Report
5) Reduce the size of this subreport so that it isn't bigger than a dot and DO NOT suppress the section that holds this subreport
6) Insert Calculated Members in the Crosstab for each column you need
7) Use the array variable meant for the respective column. You just need to print the value at each index of the array based on the 'currentrowindex+1' function.

Dynamic columns in crosstab report
Hello,
I'm using CR 2008.
I've created a dynamic crosstab report. The number of columns could be any, depending on the data.
I need to replace the original column headers with the formula, so the headers would look like this:
Set1 Set2 Set3... etc., where 1, 2, 3... etc. are the column indexes (or just sequential numbers).
Could you please recommend me a formula for it? I'm not sure how to insert these sequential numbers to the column headers.
Thank you. Please re-post if this is still an issue or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly:
